Layers in my PDF which are switched to visible are not showing - how do I solve this?

I am creating MXD files in Arc GIS, and then exporting them to Adobe Professional 8. I am merging layers within Adobe Pro, and then switching the initial view so that only 4 out of the ~10 layers are visible when the PDF is first opened. However, on opening the PDF, layers which are set to be visible (the eye symbol is appearing next to them) are not visible. This is only happening for some layers, in some of the PDFs. Also, as I switch on more layers in the PDF then the layer which should have been visible but was not does eventually appear. I would be very grateful for any suggestions on why this is happening / how to solve it. Thanks.

I'm not sure if this setting exists in version 8, but check to see if Allow Layer State To Be Set By User Information is selected in the Documents Preferences. If it is not selected, Layer Properties dialog box settings, other than Layer Name and Default State, are ignored.

You're ignoring context. On the old Apple Discussion Groups I never posted replies like that, instead giving people relatively detailed answers. The new Apple Support Communities made things worse by introducing certain inefficiencies. Then came Lion. The flood of messages that came with Lion required a painful choice for any of the people who had been helping here: (1) Give quality responses to a few questions and ignore the rest. I'm afraid you'll have to wait until both Apple and the makers of your games/apps upgrade to new versions.
Apparently there are still some issues with iOS7 that are being dealt with and the same with some apps.
As for going back, I don't think you will be able to get this information from these forums...

Custom options in Adobe PDF printer are not showing up in "Default Settings"

I am using Windows 7 and I am trying to create custom "Default Settings" in my Adobe PDF printer. When I make edits to an existing setting, click "Save As..." and save with a new filename, the new settings are not showing up in the "Default Settings" drop down box in the "Adobe PDF Settings" tab of the "Adobe PDF Document Properties" dialogue box. I can confirm that the new settings are indeed saved on my hard drive and are located in:
C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe PDF\Settings
No matter how many different custom settings I save as described above, they are simply now showing up. This works for me on other computers, but just happens not to work on my current one, which recently had an OS reinstall from scratch. Prior to the reinstall, it worked just fine on my computer (an ASUS UX31A laptop). The included pictures demonstrate what I'm talking about.
Any thoughts?

I finally solved this. The path for the Adobe PDF Settings was set to the follwing in the registry (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\PDF Settings):
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe PDF\Settings\
Even though "%USERNAME%" should work, it doesn't. I just replaced it with my actual username and it worked.

In outlook 2013 emails,pdf attachments are not showing in pdf formats

We are using outlook 2013 as pop account for our official email communication.One of the laptop is having windows 7 professional operating systems and the email we are using as outlook 2013 in that laptop.
The issue is that when we try to attach the pdf documents in outlook 2013,it is attaching but it is not showing in pdf format and it is showing as notepad or word file.
when we try to open the notepad ,word file,it is opening in pdf format and also the client is receiving in pdf format.
If we attach the pdf document in email,it should show in pdf format.
Some settings are changed and i need your support to fix the issue.

Are the PDF files showing with the PDF icon or other icons in your local disk?
Please start Outlook in sate mode and test again. To do this, press Windows key + R to open the Run command, type
outlook /safe and press Enter.
In addition, you may also try to clean out the Temporary Outlook Files folder to check the result. See:

Once I add my .swf to Dreamweaver, the buttons are not clickable, how can I fix this?

I'd just like to start out by saying that this is the first time I have posted on these forums, so if I have done anything wrong, I apologize!
Anyway, about my question, just like the title says, once I import the .swf into Dreamweaver the buttons are not clickable, however when tested outside of Dreamweaver, they work correctly.
Basically I have an animated banner with some audio and two buttons, the buttons mute and unmute the music.
The file consists of two layers, one of which has 2 keyframes, the first keyframe has the Audio with the settings; "Effect: None. Sync: Start, Loop" and a button leading to the next frame.
The next keyframe (still on layer one) has much of the same but the Audio settings are different; "Effect: None. Sync: Stop, repeat x 1" and this will stop the music.
Now on the other layer (Rocket) I have a movie clip of a space-themed background and a rocket flying across it, the movie clip is made up of a motion tween and another movie clip which is the rocket.
I am using Flash CS6 and Dreamweaver CS6 on a Windows 7 computer. I am also using Actionscript 2.0
I apologize for the amount of information and I'm not very briliant at explaining things, so here are some images of the flash file, hopefully they'll help;

If you did not create this swf yourself then you won't be able to do what I am suggesting. If you did, then open the fla in Flash and go into the Publish Settings and select the option to publish an html file as an output. That will create an html page that embeds the Flash file. Test that file in your browser and see if it plays properly. IF so, then copy that code in place of whatever Dreamweaver did to embed the Flash.
Dreamweaver is not a reliable tool for embedding Flash content... why it does not do it the same way Flash does it is anyone's guess.

You must have all apps downloaded by your Apple ID, otherwise you will still facing this problem. Delete the apps you did not download by yourself and download them again. I will fix your problem.
By the way, your device is configurate with your Apple ID? Check it in: Settings>>iTunes Store and App Store

Lines in scanned PDF which are not on original

Hello I am using Acrobat 9 Professional and when I scan an original (A4) it finishes up with a vertical line down the right hand side approx 1 inch or 25mm in and a horizontal one across the bottom of the page approximately 2 inches or 50mm up from the bottom of the page. When I scan the page using other PDF programmes, there are no lines. Would appreciate your help

Such lines are indicative of a scanner in need of some maintenance.
The scanner's user manual will describe what can be / should be done.

Cell reference Parameters in Connection properties of Excel are not saved, how do I fix this?

I'm using excels pivot table function to grab data from my MS access db through ODBC connection.
I've set up the connections with parameters for my selection criteria or the "where" clause if you read the SQL statement. The parameters I use refer to cell values on in my workbook.
My problem is that the parameters are empty every time I reopen the workbook. This creates several problems. If I attempt to refresh the connection Excel crashes. If I attempt to save the workbook excel will crash.
So I have to manually re-input the parameters for each connection I have in the workbook. The parameters function and the ability to use cell values as the parameters is great and opens up for great possibilities. But it seems it's not working?
I even opened the xml file in the .xlsx container and found where the information for the parameters reference is stored. And it was present the connections.xml as:
<parameter name="From YYYYMM" sqlType="4" parameterType="cell" cell="Admin!$C$5" />
Which tells me there is nothing wrong with my saved xlsx file.
Is there any way around the problem?

Hi Jaynet, thanks for your reply.
My cells do contain values so that's no problem. It's a very simple setup where I have 2x6 cells with a couple of parameters that are to be used by all my connections in the workbook.
Using vb code to update the "forgotten" parameters inside the connections was something I also was thinking could be a solution. Just felt it would be a shame when the functionality for what I'm trying to do cleary has been built
in to excel in a very simple way through the UI.
Before I go down the vb route I'm gonna see if I can find more info about any fixes for this bug in excel, maybe a hot patch or something like that. (I can't speak vb so building such a thing is going to take a while for me as I have to take bits
and pieces I find around the web to get stuff working) :)

I can't open .rtfd files with images. They disappear and when I send them to a PC the images are gone. How can I solve this problem? No other format works!

When I make a document and add an image and send it to a PC as .rtfd the image and the format changes and disappears. But if I send from PC to PC an .rtfd file it comes out normal. I already downloaded the Quick Word App hoping that would solve the issue but it doesn't! What can I do to share files from PC to Mac and from Mac to PC without having the file change?

IMessage is saying messages are delivering but they are not! How do I sort this?

If my girlfiriend sends me a test message from her iphone, the imessage window says it's delivered, but I don't get the message.
She currently has two conversations in her messages, with me, one has my phone number highlighted as the contact, the other has my e-mail address highlighted as the contact. The conversation with my e-mail as a contact works properly, the one with my phone number as a contact says the message is delivering, but the message does not arrive.
I can send a messge to her phone number or e-mail address and they will deliver.
Any idea how to fix this?

p.s. I'm on iOS 5.0.1, she's on iOS 5. Both iPhone 4.

It sounds like your phone did not register correctly with the iMessage service.
On your phone, go to Settings > Messages and turn iMessage OFF. Wait about a minute and then turn it back ON.
Underneath iMessage ON, verify that you see the message "iMessages can be sent between iPhone, iPad, and iPad touch."
Then have your girlfriend send another message to your phone number to test it.
