LDAP error 49: OID login failed in Oracle 10g
Hi All,
Am new to Oracle-10g stack. Following is the error while login to "Oracle Directory Manager".
LDAP: error code 49 - 8009030C:LdapErr: DSID-0C090336, coment: AcceptSecurityContext error, data 2030, va28
I forgot the password for su user("cn=orcladmin"), may be I might have locked it also, am not sure.
What is the best way to get back to normal life?. How can I get/reset password for cn=orcladmin account to access OID?
With my R&D I found the following way and here is the result.
ora-infr/bin> oidpassword connect=orcl unlock_su_acct=true
OID DB user password: mypassword
OID super user account unlocked successfully
or-infr/bin> odisrvreg.bat -p 389 -D cn=orcladmin -w mypassword
Invalid Credentials
See the following log file in the current directory for details: odisrvreg.err
Would appreciate your detailed answers to this specific question
ThanQ

Query works on Oracle 9i, but fails on Oracle 10g - puzzling...
In porting an application from Oracle 9i to Oracle 10g, I hit a problem that for a while I assumed was some bug of mine. But I eventually isolated the problem and can reproduce this using a single sql script and then a single delete. The amazing thing is that it works fine on Oracle 9i (always) and fails on Oracle 10g (always).
Have I found a bug? (I would be pretty amazed).
Here's the situation. I have four tables and a trigger set on one of those tables.
The tables are configured so that there is the "parent" table (A). Table B has a foreign key dependency on A's primary key, with "on delete cascade". Table B also has a trigger that runs on the delete. Table C (which has no data) has an integrity constraint on A's primary key. Table D holds information used by the trigger to determine if/when table C should be dropped. (I have a script that sets all this up).
After setting up the tables and the few data records needed, I delete a record from Table A. This causes the records in Table B to be deleted. That fires the trigger, which determines that Table C can be dropped, so the trigger drops Table C. Then, Oracle decides it still needs to check the integrity constraint on Table C (after all, C depended on A and we have deleted a record in A). Oracle then issues a query against table C, but of course table C has already been dropped and an error results.
The exact same script followed by the delete works fine on Oracle 9i. Is this a bug or is this a documented change in behavior? Any known workarounds? Unfortunately, the application needs all the integrity constraints that are present in the schema and also runs on SQL Server, so modifications in the integrity constraints are probably not what I am seeking).
Thanks so much!
RBI wasn't sure how to post the script, but it is short enough to include below. Many thanks for the quick response.
To connect the script below to my original post, the names are:
Table A = OT_AW_PROCESSDEF
Table B = OT_AW_PROCESS_APPDATADEF
Table C = OT_AW_AD_OneLoop_1
Table D = OT_AW_APPDATA_TABLEINFO
The trigger is also included in the script. After running this script, the command:
delete from OT_AW_ProcessDef where processdefId = 101
will cause the failure on Oracle10g, but succeeds on Oracle 9i.
Thanks again!

SessionBroker login fails with Oracle XA
Hi all,
I am trying to use oracle XA with sessionbroker.
I register the session with the session broker and when i try to login it gives
"No suitable driver" error.
Without using session broker, when I get the session, it is working fine.
sb = new SessionBroker();
Project p1 = new CfToplinkMapping();
DatabaseSession orc = p1.createDatabaseSession();
sb.registerSession(SESSION_NAME, orc);
sb.login(); ->>>>>>fails with no suitable driver error...
My project.java contains the following code: -
login.usePlatform(new oracle.toplink.internal.databaseaccess.OraclePlatform());
login.setDriverClassName("oracle.jdbc.xa.client.OracleXADataSource");
login.setConnectionString("jdbc:oracle:thin:@sch1h217:1521:fmstd");
login.setUserName("fms");
login.setEncryptedPassword("8B66EF2A66D659E33500D82AB9562809");
Please let me know where I went wrong. Is there any extra configurations required for XA drivers?Hi. The issue is that an XA-aware connection can be used at a much finer granularity
than a non-XA connection. XA allows a connection to associate itself for one tx,
make one call, disassociate itself from the tx, and then do a call for another tx.
Therfore the XA connections in the pool may be involved in 1 or more tx's. If your
app is trying to do local tx's as well with these connections, some drivers/DBMSes
get confused.
You can either create a separate pool for non-XA use, or set the keep-connection-till
tx-complete setting for the XA pool. This latter setting will make sure that connections
that are idle in the pool are not associated with any ongoing XA tx.

Guys,
I have a problem with JDBC calls with XA Connection Pool (DRIVER:::oracle.jdbc.xa.client.OracleXADataSource).

When I changed the DataSource of JDBC calls from XA Connection Pool to Non-XA

we should use non-XA connection pool for JDBC. But nobody knows the exact issues..

Error Msg: SQL login failed for HOSTNAME? Upgrade task?
Hi everybody,
Since some weeks we see an error message in all servers our SharePoint 2010 SP1 Farm, regulary every hour:
SQL database login for 'SharePoint_Config' on instance 'sqlsrv' failed.
Additional error information from SQL Server is included below.
Login failed for user 'OURDOMAIN\SERVERNAME$'.
The interesting part is that the
server tries to connect to the SharePoint Config database, not a dedicated account, which is normally used for every SharePoint service.
What circumstances can lead to an access of a server?
Unfortunately I get no details of the service or application which is trying to access. The event log just states "SharePoint Foundation (Microsoft-SharePoint Products-SharePoint
Foundation)" , Task Category "Database". The user who raises the error is "SYSTEM".
In the ULS log I can find the Stack Trace below which indicates to an upgrade task. But why is the SYSTEM user trying an update? Normally we do an upgrade by running the Upgrade Wizard with an dedicated account. And only the SharePoint Administration
windows service runs as Local System.
And I never heard or read something like: Give Local System (so the server) access to the SharePoint Config database?!
Thanks for your ideas :-)
Benjamin

It will need to add user ‘NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE’
to your database to get rid of this problem.
An asp.net application is running under NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE account.
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2806438/login-failed-for-user-domain-machinename
NETWORK SERVICE and LocalSystem will authenticate themselves always as the correpsonding account locally (builtin\network service and builtin\system) but both will authenticate as the machine account remotely.
If you see a failure like Login failed for user 'DOMAIN\MACHINENAME$' it means that a process running as NETWORK SERVICE or as LocalSystem has accessed a remote resource, has authenticated itself as the machine account and was denied authorization.
Typical example would be an ASP application running in an app pool set to use NETWORK SERVICE credential and connecting to a remote SQL Server: the app pool will authenticate as the
machine running the app pool, and is this machine account that needs to be granted access.
When access is denied to a machine account, then access must be granted to the machine account. If the server refuses to login 'DOMAIN\MACHINE$', then you must grant login rights to 'DOMAIN\MACHINE$' not to NETWORK SERVICE. Granting access to NETWORK SERVICE
would allow a local process running as NETWORK SERVICE to connect, not a remote one, since the remote one will authenticate as, you guessed, DOMAIN\MACHINE$.
If you expect the asp application to connect to the remote SQL Server as a SQL login and you get exceptions about DOMAIN\MACHINE$ it means you use Integrated Security in the connection string. If this is unexpected, it means you screwed up the connection
strings you use.

Server Error In '/' Application - Login failed for user xyz ...
Hi, I'm brand new here
I would be ever grateful for help on this. It's probably something simple.
I'm coding a website in C# ASP.NET (http://project.arcza.net). There is a registration page where you send your email, username all that stuff to an SQL server. The SQL server runs on my IIS server too. On Visual Studio, I can debug the website (i.e. launch
it on localhost:12345) and I get a fully working website that I can register as a user and it injects into the SQL server's table. If I query the SQL server, I see the results. So it works fine here.
The problem: if I copy the files for the website into the live IIS directory (as opposed from the Visual Studio preview environment) I get a runtime error thing, I have no idea what this means. The live IIS folder is project.arcza.net and I have disabled
security so you can see the full workings of the probem.
It says login failed for user 'pap'. Pap is a user I have added in SQL server, with username pap and password pap. The credentials are correct. I have added a 'connection string' (I have very little idea what this is) with thees credentials for an SQL server
@ localhost, in IIS manager.
Thank you and if you have any idea I'd be very happy.
I should also point out that if I edit properties of pap in SQL server's login thing where it lists the accounts, I cannot save the settings (you know the ones where you give it permissions to access, delete, etc?) I can tick them and click okay but if I
reoped properties and click on (I think off the top of my head it's called 'securities' but I may be wrong, it's 2nd from the bottom of the pane on the left) I see the tickboxes remain unticked. Could this have something to do with the "login failed for
'pap'" message I'm seeing?Have a look at
Errorlog. you should get reason of login failed for user.

IPCC Error 12005 agent login failed
when I login to the agent desktop, the following error pops up.Login could not be performed.possible causes are invalid instrument, media termination problem or CM issue.
I have installed 7.0ctios client along with ctios 7.1.4 release.One cause of this problem is incorrect configuration of the device target. Do you have the "/devicetype ciscophone /dn xxxx" set? Other possibility - the phone is not associated with the ICM JTAPI user in Call Manager. Show trace on the JGWY process and watch what it says as the PG tries to set up an observer on the device.
Why don't you upgrade the CTIOS client to match your CTIOS?

Thanks for your reply , Steve.
I noticed that there is a default datasouce on the EM with the following parameters:
<data-source
class="com.evermind.sql.DriverManagerDataSource"
name="OracleDS"
location="jdbc/OracleCoreDS"
xa-location="jdbc/xa/OracleXADS"
ejb-location="jdbc/OracleDS"
connection-driver="oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver"
username="scott"
password="->pwForScott"
url="jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:oracle"
inactivity-timeout="30"
/>
The location and xa-location attributes that I use for my "test" data source are the same as the default one. So, could this be the issue?
What should be the values for location and xa-location attributes from my "test" data source?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Do I need to install postgres software also?
While installing postgres odbc driver in /oracle/psqlodbc only two folders were created viz. lib and share
In lib folder two files were created viz. psqlodbc.la and libpsqlodbc.a
And everybody on the net seems to refer psqlodbc.so in the "Driver = " parameter
Today, I extracted the libpsqlodbc.a by using ar -X 64 -xv libpsqlodbc.a again, still no file with .so has been created.

Error in GetCurrentDir(): 13 when installing oracle 10g software
Hi Basis Expert,
We are doing an Mock System Upgrade.
So now we are installing
Before upgrade
BW 3.5 with oracle 10g (10.2.0.4)
After upgrade
BI 7.0 with oracle 11g (11.2.0.4)
When installing the Oracle 10g software we are getting an error
Error in GetCurrentDir(): 13
Error in GetCurrentDir(): 13
Error in GetCurrentDir(): 13
Starting Oracle Universal Installer...
Our OS is AIX 5.3
Please help us in fixing this issue
Regards,
Anil Shenoy[While Installing Oracle software facing "Error in GetCurrentDir(): 13" [ID 378393.1]|https://support.oracle.com/CSP/main/article?cmd=show&type=NOT&id=378393.1]
Solution
In order to get rid of this problem, please check for the following.
1. You are logged in as the oracle user and group which owns the oraInventory (if this is not the first install on this system)
2. You have read/execute permissions on the source files/directories (CD-ROMor CD-ROM image)
3. You have write permissions on the target directory (ORACLE_HOME)
4. When the target filesystem for ORACLE_HOME is unmounted the directory for the mount point has rwx permissions for the oracle user
If this is the first Oracle software to be installed on this system you can ignore item 1 as it will create a new oraInventory with the correct permissions. For item 4, unmount the filesystem and "chmod 777" the directory used for the mount point, then remount the filesystem. Item 4 is actually a somewhat frequent issue on AIX.
If none of the above solves your problem, the only alternative left would be, to copy the Staging directory (Disk1 of Install) to /tmp directory and proceed with the installation. -
Form login problem in Oracle 10g AS, even form does display
Dear All
We are facing one problem, when we access form with oracle 10g AS, the form is displayed, but when we enter username and password, it doesnt go to the other screen, it remains hang there and doesnt do any thing, neither give any error.
we would appreciate the help.
thanks in advanceSounds like you cannot connect to the database....
Is there a firewall between the app-server and the database? If yes, could you check with your firewall people that all traffice from db-server is allowed to app-server (from app-server to db-server just 1521, or another port that you used for the listener, is enough)
If not all traffic is allowed, then check the USE_SHARED_SOCKET environment variable (this is the windows name, there is a setting like this for unix too, but I can't recall the exact name by heart. It might be different) -
Hi all,
I have installed the oracle 10g (Oracle Database 10g Release 1 (10.1.0.2) for Microsoft Windows (32-bit) ).The installation was sucessful and I created the same password for all the default accounts.I left everything for default like
Global Database name: orcl
SID:orcl
When I tried to enter to sql plus from '' start->all programs->Oracle-OraDb10g_home1->Appliction development ->SQL Plus,
On the logon screen, I entered the following information
user name: sys
password : ************
Host string : orcl
I also tried changing user names to like 'SYSTEM' but nothing works.The error message Iam getting is
ERROR: ORA-28009: connection to sys should be sysdba or sysoper
so I also tried changing the Host String to 'sysdba' and 'sysoper' .but Nothing works.
Please help me.Iam waiting for ur reply folks
Thanks in advance !
SridharWhen connecting from sqlplus you must provide the as sysdba clause, type this when prompted
sys as sysdba
yourSYSPassword
You can try to connect directly by a command prompt:
sqlplus / as sysdba
It will connect directly to your database.
From the sqlplus (win) you can also try to write at the username prompt: / as sysdba
you are not required to type the sys password, as it is authenticated by the OS and no password is required for sysdba connections if connected directly on the console.
If you try to connect as system you will be prompted for a password. Only sysdba can be OS authenticated. SYSTEM password is the password defined at install time.

Initial Login Problems with Oracle 10g Express
Hi,
Can anybody help, im a student trying to use oracle 10g Express for a project, my problem is the express will not allow me to login as an administrator from the word go. I'm using the right user name and password and every time I login the page just refreshes itself with no other prompts. If i type the wrong credentials i get a message saying so and if using the Hr user name and password it says its locked as it should. Ive used the sql prompt to login and this works so i no the password and user name are correct, but id like to use the GUI if i could. Ive unistalled and reinstalled twice still no joy. Any suggestions?Hey again, thanks for your replies, Yes i have been using SYSTEM and SYS with a password of oracle in the GUI interface. When i use the SQL prompt i use the following to login:
SQL> conn system/oracle
connected.
SQL> Show User
USER is "SYSTEM"
This says to me that i have logged into the database but still i have no luck in doing the same through the GUI interface using the same credentials. -
