LDAP failing for iPrint and iFolder after new CA created
Last week we replaced our Certificate Authority as it was due to expire yesterday (Monday). It was currently running on a fully patches Netware 6.5 server and we took the decision to move it to a SLES 11 SP 2 OES 11 server and re-create all the certificates - following Option 2 for TID 3618399.
We re-ran PKIDIAG on the Novell server and tckeygen, and restarted and everything seemed fine - Groupwise (8) webaccess and the PO using ldap auth were working. But this morning we've discovered that ldap is failing to do secure binds for iprint secure printers and iFolder. We see this error message in the log screen:
>11:45:44 11:45:44 ldap *MASTER[xxxx.our-domain.com] connection restored
>11:45:44 11:45:44 iFolder_ldap01[xxxx.our-domain.com][-1] ldap_simple_bind : Can't contact LDAP server(81)

>11:46:41 11:46:41 ldap *MASTER[xxxx.our-domain.com] down
and in the apache error log we see:
[Tue Aug 27 11:30:08 2013] [error] [client 10.0.0.43] no acceptable variant: SYS:/apache2/error/HTTP_UNAUTHORIZED.html.var
[Tue Aug 27 11:30:08 2013] [warn] [client 10.0.0.43] [10] auth_ldapdn authenticate: user bob authentication failed; URI /ipps/Ricoh [LDAP: ldap_simple_bind_s() failed][Can't contact LDAP server]
Nothing else was charged other than creating a new CA (on a new server), removing the old one from eDirectory and generating the new certificates. If we use a web browser to the server to check the certificate we see that the CA cannot be validated as it is internal and not a publicly trusted one, but IIRC the old CA did the same.
PKIDiag and SDIDiag report no issues. The only thing I can imagine that could be causing the issue is the fact the CA is no longer on the same server hosting iFolder and iPrint. Both server host eDirectory and are part of the same replica ring, they can communicate and also time is synchronised.
Any ideas?
Mark.

I'm now pretty sure that the cert is being invalidated because the new CA is not trusted by the old server. Strange that PKIDiag has no problems with it. So really looking for a way to authorise a CA for ldap secure I think.
I can connect to the server over ldaps (port 636) using Softerra Ldap browser from my PC, again I get the certificate not valid as we have the internal CA authorising it, but you can accept the certificate and authenticate fine and use LDAP.

Mark.

LDAP realm for authentication and ACL in Database
We are thinking of using LDAP realm for authentication and we want to use ACL from a Database. But the documentation says: "WebLogic Server defers to the LDAP realm for authentication, but not for authorization. Authorization is accomplished with access control lists (ACLs), which are defined in the weblogic.properties file"
Can we use LDAP realm for authentication and manage our ACL from a Database? or do we have to use the weblogic.properties file? Do the weblogic security API help in the above scenario? Thanks RamUnfortunately, there is no easy way to do this in wls 6.0.
The only way to handle it is to write your own custom realm
that uses ldap for users and groups and a database for acls -
probably not a viable alternative.

I'm trying to do this too, but we are using WL6 and I see that the DelegatedRealm interface has been deprecated in this version. I'd greatly appreciate more information on doing this in WL6.
Thanks!

DataSource for FAGLFLEXT and BSEG, or New Table in ECC6?
need to create an extractor to have all the information of FAGLFLEXT, because we need to keep the ledger information and the split of the information. However, we need to add 13 fields contained in BSEG.
Therefore we thought to reads the line items table FAGLFLEXA, and then enhace it throught BSEG table.
However, since we are using ECC6 and BI7. It is not support the creation of DataSources for FAGLFLEXA throught FAGLBW03.
Is it an option to incorporate all fields into FAGLFLEXT.
Can we creat a new table group based on FAGLFLEXT, and then adding the coding block extensions to that table -
how does new g/l and the new table group work in parallel? Which is the procedure to do it?
Documentation says we can create a new table group based on FAGLFLEXT --- its the how does it work in conjuction part...for example...the new g/l handles document splitting and one other thing georg referenced last night...will the split documents go into our new table group?
BSEG does not have the document splitter information that we need (it's incomplete data). It's missing profit centers on many items, it's missing the proper split of transactions.
Thanks for your comments. Here is more information about this post.
Client situation: Our client is implementing ECC 6 and is using the "New-GL" features. Because of business requirements, the coding block has been extended (not insignificantly - 18 extra fields at the moment) to accommodate legal, regulatory and management reporting. The reporting solution includes standard ECC reporting (e.g. report writer, report painter reports) as well as feeds to BW (BI 7).
The Challenge: Our understanding is that adding all of the coding block extensions to the New-GL tables (ie. FAGLFLEXA and FAGLFLEXT) may lead to performance degradation in the ECC system. However, we still need to accommodate the requirement to report by the additional dimensions that are not currently included in the New-GL, so our challenge has been to find a solution that minimizes performance issues, while still allowing us to have all the necessary dimensions with which to do the required reporting.
What we would like to know: How have you handled this in similar situations?
Have you added to the New-GL tables? How many fields? Performance issues encountered?
Have you created additional table group(s) based on the New-GL and then modified that structure to have the new fields? How does the additional table group work co-incident with New-GL (e.g. does the additional table group receive document splitting information?)?
Have you created custom extractors for BW? On what basis (we understand that FAGFLEXA cannot be created as a datasource to feed BW)? -
Table for Demands and Supplies after CTM run
Hi Gurus,
I want to get number of demands and supplies after CTM run .
I can see these details from opt11 . But i want to use these data points further for a custom developments .
So please let me know , in which table these entries sit ? There has to be a standard table for the same .
Regards
BhupendraVikas,
You can also improve changing the data points in CTM global setting /SAPAPO/CTMCUST...
Enable check box : Asynchronous Update and Define appropriate Packet Size and also update
Package Size for Creating Orders
Package Size for Creating Pegging Rels
Package Size for Order Selection
Below example illustrates the improved performance by enabling check box : Asynchronous Update and Define appropriate Packet Size
If you set the indicator, CTM first plans the number of demands
specified in the Package size field. Then the system creates the
corresponding orders in the liveCache. At the same time, CTM continues
with the planning for the remaining demands.
If you do not set the indicator, the system first plans all demands and
then creates the orders in the liveCache.
Example
You want to use the asynchronous liveCache update for 20000 demands.
Enter 1000 as the package size. The system attempts to fulfill the first
1000 demands. The orders for these demands are created in the liveCache,
whilst CTM planning continues for the remaining 19000 demands."
We had similar issue and CTM performance improved significantly after updating the above setting.

help i have lost my password to log into itunes and have a new email address but can't change this because i can't login?????
Whenever a menu choice is grayed out, that is because you have Restrictions turned on in Settings. Be sure to turn it off.
You are confusing an itunes store account with an icloud account. You two can continue using the same ID for itunes (thus sharing purchased music, apps, etc.), but you really should have separate accounts (different IDs) for icloud, since an account is intended for one user to keep his/her devices in sync.
To create a new icloud account, go to
http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/
Then go to Settings>icloud and scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap Delete Account. (have restrictions turned off) That will disconnect the device from the account but will not delete data in icloud or other devices. Then sign in using the new ID. -
Users prompted for username and password after sharing removed from servers
Hello Community
On Sharepoint 2010 Server using the UI in a 2 server farm with an intranet running on it and everything functions as it should. However it was noticed that from a users computer when in "Windows Explorer" if "Network"
is clicked the 2 servers are visible.
The problem is that when the server are clicked on in Windows Explorer the files and folders on the hard drive of the servers are visible too.
Subsequently I logged onto the server and when into "Properties' - "Sharing" and
unchecked the checkbox to "Share this folder".
That solved the problem of the users being able to see and access the files
and folders on servers hard drives but now when the users log onto the intranet
they are prompted for a user name and password and even when they provide the user
name and password and the page is returned the prompt appears on the screen again(then they cancel out).
What can be done about the user being prompted for username and password without sharing the drives on the servers ?
Thank you
ShabeautWhat exactly was shared out from the SharePoint server's file system? There are certain things that are shared by default.

I have an iMac desktop for home and recently bought an iPhone 4s. I was receiving my email on both, but now it only goes to my phone. How do I remedy this?
My problem is the opposite. My desktop apparently removes the mail from the mail servers before my iPad can read it.
One of my email accounts is a POP account. mail has a setting to leave the mail on the server, but I can't see that it makes any difference. The mail going to that account still doesn't make it to my iPad. I also have an IMAP account, but I don't see a similar setting.
I would like to be able to use my desktop as my main email platform, but I also want to see the latest using my iPad when I am traveling. -
Digital Signature update after new documents created on customizing
Hello,
Is there any standard report to update old document with signature after new changes on SIPT_NUMBR_SD_V which added new document types?
I mean, if we move to live system today 2 new number ranges for billing types, the new invoices created will be on digital signature, but what about the old document created before the transpor of customizing?
Regards,Hi dude,
I appreciate that your sharing your experience and solution here. And, I would report it through our internal channel. Thanks again.

I used the ctrl+fn+f1 keys and now all new folders created include all desktop items
I have now made it so that all new folders now have all desktop items in them. I used the control+fn+f1 keys and it created this problem, I tried un-doing it by using those same keys again, but it doesn't work. Wondering if anyone else has run into this problem, if it can be fixed and if so, how?
Thanks in advance for your imput. You may not have created a mess, it's possible you simply don't know where your data is after migrating. Had you followed the Setup Assistant's on-screen prompts when you initially turned on your new system you would be running just fine by now. My guess is you haven't been exposed to Pondini's Lion Setup Assistant tips.
Migration Assistant (MA) and Setup Assistant (SA) are cousins, similar but different. The primary difference is MA creates a new user account which can be confusing to some users. If you successfuly migrated then log out of your existing using account and you should see the new user account. Log into that account then you should see the migrated data. If you do then use Pondini's Transferring files from one User Account to another.
However if you have totally made of mess out of things then I'd start over, this time using the Setup Assistant Tips beginning where he discusses Second Chance. -
DW 6 fails to upload and download after site moved to new server.
Cyberduck has same permissions and works fine, so it's not a permissions issue.
We're using the same hosting site, just a dedicated server.
Downloading DW says the file doesn't exist, but it does.
Uploading DW says it can't create the folder the file is to go into, except the folder already exists.
Here'a sample of the error messages:

Hi all,
I'm using this guide: "Step-by-Step: Build a FREE SharePoint 2013 Dev/Test Lab in the Cloud with Windows Azure Infrastructure Services" by Keith Mayer 15 Jul 2013 6:30 AM over on TechNet.
And I'm currently in "Exercise 5: Configure SharePoint Server 2013 in a Windows Azure VM" steps 16/17.
When I try to create a new server farm following those instructions, the process fails.
The dialog window states:
"Configuring SharePoint Products"
"Performing configuration task 3 of 10" <- gets stuck here for a while and then I get the error below:
The error from the PSCDiagnostics log is:
Trying to see if port 14387 is free on machine [my sp server]. Min port we will try is 1024, Max port we will try is 49151

(provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 - The semaphore timeout period has expired.) ---> System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception (0x80004005): The semaphore timeout period has expired
I've turned Windows firewall off on the SP Server, SQL Server and the AD Server (temporarily of course) and I've given user mydomain\sp_farm local and domain administrative rights as well as full rights within the SQL db.
I can ping from/to the SharePoint/SQL servers and get a response using the host name for each (the internal IP's 10.0.0.5/6 respond). If I use the DNS server names, the pings fail.
However, after the SharePoint wizard fails, I can see on the SQL server that db SharePoint_Config (default name from SP wizard) is created. So it looks like the SP wizard can connect because the db is being created.
Is this a timeout issue even though the log file shows "SocketError ConnectionRefused"?
Any ideas on how I can resolve this error?
Thanks.Hi Gary,
For this issue, I'm trying to involve someone familiar with this topic to further look at it.
There might me some time delay. Thank you for your understanding.
Thanks

Version Mismatch for Kernel and CPU after 10.6.4 update
I had a kernel panic in both Mac Pro and MacBook Pro after a usually no-brainer software update OS X 10.6.4....I tried all of the shortcuts (zapping PRAM, booting from other drives, safemode, etc) and I get the dreaded gray screen and restart message immediately,,,what can I do short of purchasing a new board for each machine?
I did disk verification and repairs via target disk mode from a third laptop, but the pro macs never get past the grey screen in order to give me the chance to update! The screen text says:
"panic(cpu 0 caller 0x2x096e6) Version mismatch between Kernel and CPU PM"@/Source Cache/...
Debugger called: <panic>"
What can I do to GET PAST the "version mismatch" and "ned to restart" screen to be ABLE to update?Just tried installing the 10.6.4 update on my iMac i5. It began the usual shutdown, and I was expecting the install to begin. That never happened. 10 minutes went by at least. I forced it to shut down, and now it won't boot. Same as the OP - "Version mis-match between Kernel and CPU PM"
There is no option to boot from anything else, either. The machine won't boot from an original install CD, or from an install image I keep on USB. I tried zapping PRAM, and resetting SMC. At this point, I consider it bricked. Fortunately, I have a reasonably recent TM backup.
Won't have time to take it in until Monday. Sure hope someone has some insight before then. -
LDAP protection for JSP and Servlets
Environment: WL 5.1 sp 8 on Solaris 7
Question: I want to use LDAP Security on my site. Does Weblogic only utilze LDAP
for servlets. What about my JSP files? And no, I can't protect just a directory
with iPlanet Web Server because my JSP files are all over my directories and my
servlets are in my /servlets directory. I need security on some of the jsp files.
how would I accomplish this?Hello
What do I install in order to create and use .jsp's
and servlets and jdbc connectivity as well? Is it
J2SE or J2EE. The answer is "Yes."
In order to use J2EE, you need J2SE. If you do not feel comfortable with J2SE and programming Java in general (as is suggested by not being able to differentiate between J2SE and J2EE and how to download one/both), J2EE may be a bit complex to get started with.
My suggestion:
1) Start Here: http://java.sun.com/learning/new2java/index.html
2) Download J2SE: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp choose the JDK 5.0 Update 3
3) Do a beginners Java Tutorial: http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/index.html
4) Read a book, try a lot, get comfortable doing it.
Then Choose the JDBC:
http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/jdbc/index.html
Then, only after being compfortable in how Java and JDBC work, move to J2EE
1) Download a Server (examples):
Full J2EE implementation: J2EE Software Development Kits (SDK)
Servlet/JSP Engine (Tomcat): http://jakarta.apache.org/site/downloads/downloads_tomcat-5.cgi
There are others, Tomcat is fairly popular.
2) Read the server's documentation thoroughly
3) Read a J2EE tutorial: http://java.sun.com/j2ee/1.4/docs/tutorial/doc/index.html
Note: depending on your server, the above tutorial may only be partially relevant.
The download section is overwhelming
and confusing to me :(
Thanks for any guidance. -
