LDAPConfigPre/PostSetup.sh

We are in the process of trying to create a silent install for the entire OAM 11g Suite on RHEL5. So far, we are able to install the database (11.2.0.3), RCU (11.1.1.6), Weblogic (10.3.6), IDM (11.1.1.6), SOA (11.1.1.5), and OIM software (11.1.1.5) via bash shell without issue. The next step is to create/extend the domain -- which we understand cannot be run silently and must be run via gui and that's ok.
Our question has to do with the LDAPConfigPreSetup.sh and LDAPConfigPostSetup.sh. During the setup we create a temporary password file that uses environment variables to contain the password -- in order to maintain security. The only parameters these 2 scripts are looking for are the passwords so we redirect the password file into the scripts but are getting "No console found so exiting...".
*./LDAPConfigPreSetup.sh < password.file*
No console found so exiting...
There is nothing on Oracle or online anywhere that I can find that explains or even acknowledges the existence of this message.
Does anyone know is this is possible? We are able to do it sucessfully when running the root.sh and rcu.
Another issue is creating OVD adapters from the command line. In talking with Oracle, they basically have said that since we have installed the "full-featured OVD" as part of IDM installation that we must create our adapters via ODSM only. Is this true? Has anyone created adapters or OVD connections from the command line?
Thank you in advance....

We wanted to call the LDAPPre/PostSetup scripts as part of a larger silent install... be able to prompt for the passwords to be used when we begin the install and not have to stop in the middle to enter anything.
We were not changing the scripts... simply trying to redirect the password -- contained in the password.txt file -- into the script when the prompts were executed. This works elsewhere in our scripts with Oracle, but not these

• Still cannot install the agent on Server 2012 R2 Core

Hi
I'm using the latest build of the agent (that I could find - 2.0.8692).
This KB http://support2.microsoft.com/kb/2997692/en-us says that 2.0.8689 and above should be supported on Windows Server 2012 R2 Core.
The installation works, but when I'm about to do the postsetup (Register Server Wizard) I get an unhandeld exception and cannot continue.
The error reads:
Creating an instance of the COM Component with CLSID {DC1C5A9C-E88A-4DDE-A5A1-60F82A20AEF7} from the IClassFactory failed due to the following error: 80040111 ClassFactory cannot supply requested class (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040111 (CLASS_E_CLASSNOTAVAILABLE))

I am getting the same error, Hyper-V Server 2012R2

• Star Office 9 on Windows Server 2008 64Bit with Citrix Xen App 5.0

Good day,
I have Star Office 9 already installed on my private PC and now want to install it also on Terminal Sever with OS Windows 2008 64 Bit and Citrix Xen App 5.0 . Is there anybody who has experience with such an installation, can inform me if it works and maybe what I have to consider on installation ??
Thanks for your help
rgds
A.Reinhardt

Here's what I have been doing to get OpenOffice.org working
on our Citrix Farm using a Win2K/Win2K3 mixed-mode domain.
the same applies to StarOffice.
These were the goals:
- Give any user who wants/has to work with an Office Suite
access to OpenOffice.org by simply putting him into a
group.
- The installation must work in a way the user does not have
to interact (read: I do not want to allow his interaction
because he is definitely going to make the wrong choices)
The painful way to the goal (as far as I got now):
Note 1: While most files are included here, some are missing
(like 100kb registry settings) but can be requested
from the author.
Note 2: Some of the scripting is ugly and may be useless.
It has evolved quite a bit since I started it, so
it's kinda messy. Nevertheless it works quite well
here, so I wouldn't want to touch it...
OVERVIEW
This solution consists of the following parts:
- modified setup file (optional)
- responsefiles fr base and workstation (=user) installation
- installation script
- domain logon (sub)script
I modified the setup file (setup.inf) to stop the installer from giving me things
I don't want. I have tried numerous ways to do this with StarBasic but failed.
I tried the forums, I had contact with Sun developers - it simply wouldn't work
the way it was supposed to.
The installation script is simple. It's just there to make life a little easier
for the sorry guy who has to install a new machine. I tried to use a packager
to do the base installation and it horribly barfed, but then again that was in
the days before 1.1.x. It works like this so I left it untouched.
The major part is the domain logon script. There, we check if the user has access
to OpenOffice.org, check for the presence of various files and try to build his
environment as needed, taking various quirks and problems into account.
The logon script needs a connection to a share on a fileserver/SAN/NAS. For us,
it's still a fileserver, but it's the one holding the profiles, too, so if this
one wouldn't be available login would be broken, anyway. I did this so I could
slipstream newer files to the users' workstation installation if I needed to, later on.
INSTALLATION
In my installation folder, I have the following files:
Code:
dir install ; OpenOffice.org files (incl. modified setup.inf)
file common.xcu ; Modified common.xcu where I set an additional
; template folder, for example
file instbase.rsp ; Responsefile for base installation
file instuser.rsp ; Responsefile for user's workstation installation
file jobs.xcu ; Modified jobs.xcu (removed registration request)
file MasterInstall.kix ; Script to install on a Citrix machine
file OpenOffice-Associations.reg ; Override for document type associations
file wkix32.exe ; kixtart w32 executable
To install, make a shortcut to "wkix32.exe MasterInstall.kix" and doubleclick Wink
You should be administrator on the Citrix machine, of course. As you can see from
the script, installation mode is switched on automatically.
Set your '$destination' as needed!
Code:
========== MasterInstall.kix ==========
; OpenOffice.org 1.1.2 Master-Installation fr Citrix
; Installiert OpenOffice nach D:\Programme\OpenOffice
; wgi 2004/04/28 (identisch mit OpenOffice 1.1.1)
DEBUG Off
; Installation anhand des Response-Files
$Destination = "D:\Programme\OpenOffice\"
shell "change user /install"
? "Installiere nach "+$Destination
; * This would be a good place to copy some of the fonts
; * or other stuff to the machine
shell ".\install\setup.exe -r:..\instbase.rsp"
SHELL "regedit /s OpenOffice-Associations.reg"
SHELL "change user /execute"
MessageBox("Installation nach "+$Destination+" beendet.","Total schn, ey ;-)",64,60)
========== MasterInstall.kix ==========
Let's have a look at instbase.rsp:
Code:
========== instbase.rsp ==========
[Environment]
INSTALLATIONMODE=INSTALL_NETWORK
INSTALLATIONTYPE=SPECIFY
DESTINATIONPATH=D:\Programme\OpenOffice
LANGUAGELIST=49
MIGRATION=YES
StartProcedure=PreSetup
EndProcedure=PostSetup
[Module_Specify]
wgiModule=gid_Module_Prg_Wrt_Bin,gid_Module_Prg_Wrt_Help, [.......]
InstallModuleSet=wgiModule
[JAVA]
JavaSupport=preinstalled_or_none
[Windows_Desktop_Integration]
Register4MsWord=Yes
Register4MsExcel=Yes
Register4MsPowerPoint=Yes
RegisterAsDefaultHtmlEditor=No
[Procedures]
Sub PreSetup
ShowSetup
End Sub
Sub PostSetup
SetReboot( False )
HideSetup
End Sub
========== InstBase.rsp ==========
Some leftover stuff from trying to exclude some modules here, I just didn't clean it up.
Remember to set 'DESTINATIONPATH' to what you need.
Note that we do a "INSTALL_NETWORK". Although most people in the forums agreed that it doesn't work, it does - at least since 1.1.0.
Near the end of Masterinstall.kix I import some registry settings. For some reason,
OpenOffice.org's method of setting the associations does not work for me on a Citrix
(Terminal Server) machine, although it seemed to be the right way to do it. Worked
on XP workstations, for example, but it looks like Terminal Servers treat this differently.
So I exported the registry settings, changed the tree to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, imported them again and voila, it works. File can be requested from the author, unfortunately you'd have to replace all occurences of the path to your own path.
Should be easier to repeat the described process.
At this point, we're all set with out new Citrix machine. We can take a look at the
Domain logonscript now.

Hi,
Agree with ED.
The key message is “Could not connect to net.tcp://exchange.domain.com:3803/Management/InteractionEngine.
The connection attempt lasted for a time span of 00:00:02.0470060. TCP error code 10061: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 192.168.0.0:3803”
You need to check why it’s block. Any firewall or the port is listened by other processes.
Thanks,

• Web Recorder and IE 11

Is the web recorder compatible with IE 11 - I tried it from the server (windows 2008 r2) and my workstation (Windows 7 x64) and the web recorder will not launch. Thanks in advanced.

If it doesn’t work, also try the following attempts.
1. Disable Enhanced Protection Mode
Internet Options -> Advanced -> Uncheck the checkbox for ‘Enabled Enhanced Protected Mode*’ and click Apply.
2. Delete the following registry keys. Please back up the registry before deleting.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Discardable\PostSetup\ComponentCategories

user12841694

hi guys,
the installation worked here in this way:
1) update props file
2) run LDAP Presetup
3) Config OIM with config.sh (or.bat) with LDAP Sync
4) run LDAP Postsetup
looks like a bug in the documentation steps

• Can't record web session in Web Application Transaction Monitoring using IE10 (Tried under Windows Server 2008R2 and 2012)

Hi,
In Operations Manager Console 2012 SP1 including RU2 I am trying to record a web session in Web Application Transaction Monitoring.
I have check that:
The add-on (Microsoft Web Recorder Helper) 64bit is Enabled.
The 64bit version of IE10 is running/launched. See this link for how to modify your registry key if needed: http://kevingreeneitblog.blogspot.co.uk/2012/01/scom-2012-recording-web-browser-session.html
I have tried both on a Windows 2008R2 and 2012 server, but the recorder is not showing up as can been seen from Kevin's Blog (link above).
Any Ideas?

I managed to get this working on both Windows 8 IE10 and server 2012 IE10. Tested on SCOM 2012 SP1 UR2 and UR3. I've done this process in lab and production several times so hopefully this helps you out.
Checklist:
1. Ensure that the 64bit IE10 is launching when the "start web-capture" is started in SCOM.
2. Enable IE10 internet options:
a: Advanced - Security - Enable Enhanced Protected Mode
b: Advanced - Browsing - Enable third-party browser extensions
3. Close all running IE sessions and open the Registry Editor
4. Registry Change (No reboot needed)
- Browse to the following regkey:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main
- Add a new DWORD called TabProcGrowth and set it to 0
5. Registry Change (No reboot needed)
- Browse to the following regkey:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Discardable\PostSetup\Component Categories64\
-You should see two subkeys labeled: (These are the cached BHO IE objects related to the Web Recorder)
{00021493-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}
{00021494-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}
- Delete only the above two mentioned keys (This will force IE to recache them next launch)
6. Try to start the web capture again from SCOM 2012 SP1.
7. When IE10 Launches enable the add-on again if you are prompted.
8. If you still don't see the Web-Recorder pane in IE you can now show it by:
- View - Explorer bars - Web Recorder
