Leap in time to test expiration of a certificate

Hi (Eric),
We got our certificates (thanks for your support) and we're the process of validating the deployment.
A question raised-up:
In a protected media streaming use case, is it possible to leap forward in time (change dates) to test the validity/expiration of a given certificate (or set of) ? We've tried and apparently a certificate installed on the client would prevent doing this.

You don't mention what version of LV you are using. If you are or can
use L
V6, then you can do this with the Waveform datatype. The waveform
is an semi-opaque datatype that includes a timestamp with one or more
measured values. Since you can wire it to a chart, you can accumulate
discontiguous data. In a normal acquire and chart application that now
returns a waveform and you send it to the chart, the irregular sampling
automatically shows up. If you are reading them from file, then you can
pretty easily bundle the evenly sampled portions together into one
waveform, then start another to skip ahead when you find a skip.
If you are stuck using a previous version, then I'm afraid you
will need to use an XY graph, possibly with the accumulation functions
in the example I recently listed or use your own shift registers and
build array.

  • Timer Failed To Expire In V880

    hi,
In my V880 machine when the OS boots up it displays the error
"Timer Failed to Expire" and also it displays "device pci@8 70000/scsi@1 being marked with status == 'fail' ". plz provide with a solution since the OS is not coming up completely.

I think that device is going to be your cd/dvd drive or a tape drive - the interface is the internal SCSI. your disks should be on FCAL (I am not that good on Sun H/W and all that!)
Maybe overkill, but from OBP (the ok prompt) try:
    test-all /pci8,700000
What the error about the timer is I am not sure, sorry.

    Hi,
When it is set as expired it means that the client has perfomed the task in question and the information in the console is just for historical reasons and will be cleaned out automatically from the Console/DB by one of the Site Maintenance Tasks.
So there is no error and nothing to do in this case just sit back and wait for it to be cleaned up.

  • Wait time in Test Stand

I have an application in TS where I need to measure a leak rate. How do I set a "wait time" in Test Stand sequence so I can measure the same test point after certain elapsed time.

I don't think TestStand has a wait function. You would be better off doing this inside your test step code. Measure, wait, measure again. Both measurements can be returned to TestStand for further processing. Or just calculate the leak rate in your test step code and just return the rate to TestStand for numerical limits testing.

When I've had a similar problem, it was because I was accessing the iTunes store from a device I hadn't used before, such as when I upgraded from an iPad 1 to the iPad 2.  It was a little confusing to me until I figured it out.
All I had to do was use the ID of my existing account and play along with the iTunes store.  As I recall, it asked for my password twice, and the security code from the back of my credit card.  After that, downloads proceeded as before.

  • Applocker and expired code signing certificates

    Magnus

    Hi Magnus,
    >>Is it possible to allow applocker to use expired code signing certificates for old applications ?
As far as I know, we should be unable to do this. If a certificate is expired, it is no longer considered an acceptable or usable credential.

  • VeriSign Certificate  OR Unified Testing Initiative (UTI) root Certificate?

    Hello everybody!
I've signed my J2ME application with a Verisign Class 3 Public Primary CA but it seems that wasn't a good deal!
Indeed, once signed, this application no longer is supported by my Samsung SGH-D840 even if on a Nokia6300 all still run well.
The difference between these 2 handsets regarding the signing aspects is that the SGH-D840 is not JSR-177 SATSA compatible whereas the Nokia6300 is.
A friend told me that the Unified Testing Initiative (UTI) root certificate is available on more handsets than the VeriSign certificate. He seems be right because all the handsets marked with a (+) in the list at [http://www.javaverified.com/docs/Table_of_Supported_Devices_1.20.pdf|http://www.javaverified.com/docs/Table_of_Supported_Devices_1.20.pdf] support the UTI Certificate.
    My questions:
    1) Has anyone ever used the UTI certificate to sign a J2ME application? If yes, could the person tell me if he recommend it instead of VeriSign Certificate?
    2) Could you confirm if UTI certificate is supported by many more handsets (regardless to the manufacturer) in relationship with VeriSign Certificate?
    Thanks you in advance,
    arkienou

    Finally solved it
Followed the instructions of note 694290 to import the certificate chain
Essentially, I needed to export the already existing private key to a .p8 file named exactly after the already existing private key entry. Then, I delete the private key entry and  hit Load, put the .p8 file I just exported and then import my certificate file (CSR response), the intermediate CA certificate and the root CA certificate

  • Hello, we are using Lab View, to run testers, for checking our production parts. At different times during testing we are getting an error message with a number indicating something.

The number appears to be different every time. The error will stop the test. Sometimes, the test will complete, but instead of passing or failing, we get an error message. Most times these keep comingup every other or every 3rd part. Most times we can reset the problem, and at least get rid of the errors for a while, by shutting down the whole system, including the main disconnect. Then powering back up. HELP!! This has been going on too long!!

What's the error number and message? Is it a LabVIEW error code or a user created one?

Time Machine keeps hourly backups for one day, then daily backups for a week, etc. What you are seeing is it deleting the daily backups form more than 24 hours ago. This is what it does, nothing to worry about.

  • Workspace v1.8 - File Share shows actual time instead of expiration date

    Hi,
our customer still uses Workspace Files Version 1.8 an in the main everything works fine. There is just one problem:
When he creates a share for a file (not a folder) the expiration date for it should be shown - but in fact the actual time (when the share is created) is shown.
Anyone seen this before? Is there a patch or any other possibility to resolve this?
    Thanks in advance!
    Marco

I was having this exact same problem, then it just stopped. I am using the nouveau driver and I have a tnt2 card.
IIRC, I was having an unrelated problem with xorg or udev or something was having problems detecting my monitor, it claimed I had two monitors connected, I wrote an xorg.conf file and that fixed the problem. IDK if its is related or not because I don't recall exactly when things started working when I would switch ttys.
Try using the nouveau driver and see if it does the same thing, it has a kernel module so it might make difference,

  • [Forum FAQ] Fixing scheduled task Next Run Time displaying as expired time plus days to delete

    Symptom:
We used Task Scheduler to create a scheduled task. For example, we configured a daily task, starting from 3 AM 9/3/2014, recurring the task every 1 day, and set the expiration time as 3 AM 9/3/2015 (See Figure 1). Under
Settings tab, we checked If the task is not scheduled to run again, delete if after:
option, and set the value as 30 days (See Figure 2).
However, in the Task Scheduler Library snap-in, we saw that the Next Run Time of the task is 3AM 10/3/2015, which equals expiration date plus days to delete (See Figure 3), but the right value should be 3 AM 9/2/2014 because the task has never been run.
    Figure 1
    Figure 2
    Figure 3
    Cause:
This is a Task Scheduler interface displaying issue. Although the next run time that is displayed in the Task Schedule is incorrect, the trigger will be fired correctly.
    Solution:
We can install the hotfix in the following KB article to fix the displaying issue, though the symptom in the article is different.
An incorrect value for Next Run Time is displayed when you specify multiple triggers to schedule a task in Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008 R2
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2495489
After installing the hotfix, we need to restart computers to make it take effect.
In this example, after installing the hotfix and restarting the computer, we see that the next run time of the task is displayed correctly in Task Scheduler (Figure 4).
    Figure 4

I am not running out of space, but I do have the same problem.  Every so often TM does a backup which is about 60 GB bigger than expected.   The  extra is always a new backup of /System /Applications /usr etc. - that is the 'system files'.
The key thing is, as you have noticed:
Examining the content of the latest backup, the one that did not fail, shows that some system directories, /Applications, /usr, and /bin are missing
As a consequence the next backup is, in my case, 60 GB bigger because it includes all the system files.
It is as if 'systemFilesExcluded' was turned on for the previous backup (the one that 'did not fail').  But I have looked in the .exclusions.plist for this backup and it is exactly the same as for other backups and does include:
            <key>systemFilesExcluded</key>
            <false/>
It seems that TM is treating this as if <true/>.
Like you, I have done a disk verify and it finds no errors.
I think this must be a bug.  I have had this on four occassions since upgrading to Mountain Lion.  And it is doing a large one right now - I have caught it in the act!

  • Modules execcution times in test stand

    Hello Everyone:
    Maybe some can help me.
I wrote a test sequence using Test Stand program with LabView and using Field Point for hardware. There is one issue that has been notice on the test results and that is the execution time of each of the modules.
This question has been ask is Why does the execution time of the modules varies from one test to the next.
We also notice that if we run a same unit several times we do not get the same results, they are very close but never the same and that includes the module execution times.

    Hello Toro,
That is a great question. Depending on what controller and modules you have, the execution times of the modules vary from one to another. There is an excellent tutorial that explains this really well, below you will find a link to it:
    http://zone.ni.com/devzone/conceptd.nsf/webmain/a14d3c3314a0e24a86256dbe00664943?OpenDocument
If you don't have a real time module, then by switching to one, you are going to see a significant change in the accuracy of the times displayed. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

  • Validate map in FDM takes long time and finally expires

    Hi,
I have an issue with FDM Mapping.
When i click the "validate" option in workflow, the FDM processing takes long time (more than an hour) and finally expires.
But when i open a new web interface, i am seeing a gold fish on validate - which means validate mapping has been done.
As we are in production environmeny, Can someone quickly clarify me, why this happen.
    Thanks,
    Siva

    Hello Kelly,
Something you said concerns me: +"Because we automated data loads for the large file, this issue is extremely low on the priority list."+
In this type of scenario we notice customers/partners implementing FDM as an 'ETL' utility. FDM is not an ETL utility and should not be treated/used as such. In the event that you are doing this, Support has no control of the application as it is a mis-use of what FDM is for.
Files that are being pushed into FDM should always be broken down into the smallest components(locations) and used as a 'front end,' user interface.... not a server-side/IT application. If you meet this criteria of FDM, then there is not much Support can do.
If you do not think you are misusing FDM, I would highly suggest you open/create a Support SR if you do not use FDM in that manor. Consultants/Partners are functional/design based.... and not necessarily trained as Support Engineers. Therefore they might not have the skills required to make such determinations.
    Thank you,
    Oracle Global Customer Support

  • 2 Repositories in dev and only one at a time in test envs. Any known cons?

IHAC who asked me the following tricky thing:
due to our Business needs we are facing a situation in which we will work with 2 siebel repositories and only 1 siebel testing environment:
    -     Both Siebel repositories have their own database instance and tools dbf file (let’s named them Repository-1 and Repository-2)
    -     Both Siebel repositories will have exactly the same database schema, meaning that we will have exactly the same number of tables and columns.
    -     Taking into account the previous point we were thinking of applying the repimpexp from one of our repositories.
    -     Depending in our needs put in the test environment srf-1 (compiled from Repository-1) or srf-2 (compiled from Respository-2).
Due to our architecture it is needed to be able to use both srf without launching a repimpexp. Taking into account that both database schemas are going to be equal, the only issue I can foresee it is the metadata tables (S_FIELD, S_BUSCOMP). As far as I know those tables are only used by Workflows and maybe ASM. Can you please send to us asap a list of Siebel features which could be affected by this approach? And kindly confirm that the “regular” Siebel functionality (applet, BC, BS) will not be affected.
As far as I know the standr siebel functionalities should not be affected at all, but I would like to have you perspective.
    thanks to all in advance
