Legal Name Change-can I update online?

Can't find anywhere where I can either change or request a change.

You'll need to call Customer Service or visit your local Corporate Verizon store.  They also may need to see the legal paperwork where your name was changed.

  • HT1338 I have new IPHONE MINI - From my MAC, it says I need to update to 10.6.8 in order to update my ITUNES for MINI.  Can I update online?  Do I have to purchase and wait for delivery or perform online?

    I purchased IPAD MINI for my daughter.  To properly register the new MINI, it says to update ITUNES. However, in order to update ITUNES, I need to update my software to 10.6.8.
    Can I do so over the net or do I have to purchase and wait?

    You can purchase OS X 10.6 from the online Apple store by calling them, which in the US is at 800-MY-APPLE or you can buy it online here.  After you receive it, install it, run Software Update until there are no more updates, at which point you'll be at OS X 10.6.8 and can install iTunes 10.7. Note your system needs a minimum of 1GB of memory to run OS X 10.6.8.

  • Carrying AD name change through to Exchange Online

    Semicolon wrote:If I remember correctly (its been a few months since we ran across that here), we changed everything in AD, synced it up, and then changed the user's UPN in AzureAD/Office365 to match the new email address once all of the synced information made it up. I'm a fan of the powershells so I used the Set-MsolUserPrincipalName cmdlet to do this last step; I don't know if there's a method to do that in the GUI.If the user is already synced using Dirsync, then all you have to do is change the relevant information in AD and you're all set. Dirsync links the AD and MSOL users with an immutable ID so once the user has been created in the cloud it will always sync with the correct AD user regardless of any AD attributes changing. While Set-MSOLUserPrincipalName will probably work just fine, it's not entirely necessary.

    Hi All
    We have a recently-married user who is requesting her name be changed on the system.
    When we had OnPrem Exchange, following an AD name change through to Exchange was simple, but I've never had to do it since we've migrated to Exchange Online (we use DirSync with Password Hash)...
    Anyone know how the process goes, please? Don't want to lose her mailbox or anything!
    Thanks in advance
    Dave

  • Changed file names, now can't update files

    Help!!!!  I switched the names of my files this morning to the domain name that I've purchased. Doing so, however, appears to prevent me from updating my pages. Now, when I click on Modify>Library>Update Page, I get a message that reads, "Error Acessing file... file not found (error code -43)" .
    I *think* the problem is with the template name. The 60 pages that I first designed were built on the original  template name, "2000." All of these pages continue to say "Templates/2000_template.dwt" at the top of the pages, as this snippet shows:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><!-- InstanceBegin template="/Templates/2000_template.dwt" codeOutsideHTMLIsLocked="false" -->
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />
    <!-- InstanceBeginEditable name="doctitle" -->.
    I'm guessing that, because I have changed the name of the template (as well as the file it's stored in), the child pages will not recognize the new template and subsequently not allow me to update the page.
    How do I get out of this fix? I can't change the template name on each page, as it's in a noneditable region. Do I have to backstep and rename all of my files to the original (and now incorrect) name I was working off of?
    Thanks to anyone who can help.

    I think that what you may have done is either change the filename for your template outside of Dreamweaver or you have broken the link to the template.
    I do rename some templates on my websites to keep things neat, as sometimes I "inherit" websites that are poorly constructed. I have two that are entirely tables-based and they are five-fingered boogers (the kind you can't just flick off easily). These tend to come complete with clients who don't want to pay to have their websites redesigned. No extra charge for that option.
    You can try doing a Modify>Templates>Apply Template to page for all of your pages and it might help a lot to automate that: Open a page that needs to be attached to your template, Go to Commands>Start Recording, pull down Modify>Templates>Apply Template and choose the template, stop your recording then pull down Commands>Play recorded command for each page you need to reattach the renamed template to.
    Another cause here is that you may have inadvertently changed the path to the template. If you do renaming and moving from within Dreamweaver the links to templates are not supposed to break -- but sometimes this does happen.

  • The Facebook app on my iPad will not let me access my account. I was recently married so my Facebook name changed and I updated my password. Now when I go into Facebook under settings and try to access my account it is still using the old name.

    I got married, changed my Facebook name and gave my account a new password. Now, under settings and Facebook they have my ITunes/Apple ID and under it says "please sign in using (my old Facebook name) and under that is password. Only that old Facebook name has changed but did not update on my iPad settings. Also it will not accept my new password. I cannot erase it. If Apple doesnt want us to use more than one account, what do we do in this situation? Or if our Facebook gets hacked and becomes compromised? This is not okay. I have to be able to access this and because it will accept only one and will not update changes I cannot longer access my account. I buy a lot of Apple products. I won't buy another if it's not corrected. This is horribly frustrating. Not to mention waiting on youtube videos to load is almost as bad as waiting on dial-up. But that's another matter. Is there a way around this or do I need to start looking for products somewhere else? Anyone know? Thanks.

    You need to reset the password for the "old" account, and then use that to turn off iCloud.  Then you will be able to sign in with your new ID.
    You can reset your password at iForgot.apple.com.
    If you don't know the answers to the security questions, you will need to start there.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312
    -If you established a rescue email address, there will be a link on the "Passwords & Security" page of id.apple.com.  Clicking the link will send the reset to your rescue email address (NOTE:  This is not the same address as your Apple ID email)
    -If there is no link on the page, then you didn't establish a rescue email address.  Contact AppleCare at 800.694.7466 (If you are in the US), and ask for account security.  You will need to answer some questions to verify your identity, AND you will need access to a computer to generate a temporary support pin.
    -If you are not in the US, click http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699 - Apple ID: Contacting Apple for help with Apple ID account security

  • Computer name changes after security update

    We installed the latest security update for OS X 10.5.8 and after installation the computer name was automatically changed. It was "Name (2)". After the update it magically became "Name (3)". It becomes very confusing because we share this computer's printer with a Macbook and it can't find the shared printer after this happens. Is this normal? It has happened after two security updates.

    This is how it SHOULD be. When you try to rename a Mac in a LAN to a Computer Name which is already given to another Mac in the LAN, Mac OS X will suggest to add a number to the name you tried. When you rename the Mac to this Computer Name before you connect to the LAN Mac OS X will add the number automatically.
    But the problem this thread is about (imho) is that Macs with UNIQUE Computer Names in the LAN, unexpectedly add a number, when there is for sure no other computer with that exact name in the LAN.
    I can witness this behavior round about two to three times in a month in our network of over one hundred Macs.
    By the way: Not only the Computer Name will change but the Local Hostname too.
    Computer Name: "Example Name" -> "Example Name (2)"
    Local Hostname: "Example-Name.local" -> "Example-Name-2.local"
    This looks more like a bug in the system than an operating error.
    Any suggestions anyone?

  • Are ID templates "live" such that changes can be updated across multiple documents?

    SCENARIO:  I have a document (DOC_A) ... from which I make a template (TEMP_T) ... from which I make fa second document (DOC_B).
    [A --> T --> B]
    After working on DOC_B for a few weeks, I find I have made some really nice changes (paragraph and font styles, etc), which I would love to incorporate in the original DOC_A.
    [retro-update: B --> T --> A]
    QUESTION 1: Is the underlying TEMP_T 'live" in the sense that I can make changes to it via DOC_B, and then have those changes reflected in (i.e., updated to) DOC_A?
    QUESTION 2: If not, what would be the best, or most efficient, way to update DOC_A so that it incorporates the favorable changes made to DOC_B?
    Thanks in advance.

    You can't have live changes via a template.
    In a similar situation my workflow is to use book feature of InDesign. I make a book which sole purpose is being able to update any book document with any any other book document's paragraph and font styles, etc. This is done by synchronizing function, and you can even synchronize different elements from different document. Try it.

  • Is there an iPad app so that I can remotely update my blog site?

    I use iWeb to blog, not blogger or wordpress.  I know that there are iPad apps for those sites so that blogs can be updated when away from the computer...is there an app that works specifically with iWeb?

    No, because the difference is that WordPress blogs can be updated online from any computer and with an iWeb blog you need that all important domain.sites file to be able to update any iWeb blog.
    It is a little hard to produce an app like that.

  • Name change question

    I need information on a name change.
    << Message was moved to a new thread by: Verizon Moderator >>

    I'd call Verizon to initiate a legal name change on your account.  A phone call or stop to a corporate store would be needed, I'd think, to make an account change such as is related to names.

    The first thing to do with a second-hand computer is to erase the internal drive and install a clean copy of OS X. You — not the previous owner — must do that. How you do it depends on the model, and on whether you already own another Mac. If you're not sure of the model, enter the serial number on this page. Then find the model on this page to see what OS version was originally installed.
    1. You don't own another Mac.
    If the machine shipped with OS X 10.4 or 10.5, you need a boxed and shrink-wrapped retail Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6) installation disc from the Apple Store or a reputable reseller — not from eBay or anything of the kind. If the machine has less than 1 GB of memory, you'll need to add more in order to install 10.6. Preferably, install as much memory as it can take, according to the technical specifications.
    If the machine shipped with OS X 10.6, you need the installation media that came with it: gray installation discs, or a USB flash drive for some MacBook Air models. For early MBA models, you may need a USB optical drive or Remote Disc. You should have received the media from the previous owner, but if you didn't, order replacements from Apple. A retail disc, or the gray discs from another model, will not work.
    To boot from an optical disc or a flash drive, insert it, then reboot and hold down the C key at the startup chime. Release the key when you see the gray Apple logo on the screen.
    If the machine shipped with OS X 10.7 or later, you don't need media. It should boot into Internet Recovery mode when you hold down the key combination option-command-R at the startup chime. Release the keys when you see a spinning globe.
    2. You do own another Mac.
    If you already own another Mac that was upgraded in the App Store to the version of OS X that you want to install, and if the new Mac is compatible with it, then you can install it. Use Recovery Disk Assistant to create a bootable USB device and boot the new Mac from it by holding down the C key at the startup chime. Alternatively, if you have a Time Machine backup of OS X 10.7.3 or later on an external hard drive (not a Time Capsule or other network device), you can boot from that by holding down the option key and selecting it from the row of icons that appears. Note that if your other Mac was never upgraded in the App Store, you can't use this method.
    Once booted in Recovery, launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the internal drive — not any of the volume icons nested beneath it. In the Partition tab, select the default options: a GUID partition table with one data volume in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format. This operation will permanently remove all existing data on the drive.
    After partitioning, quit Disk Utility and run the OS X Installer. You will need the Apple ID and password that you used to upgrade. When the installation is done, the system will automatically reboot into the Setup Assistant, which will prompt you to transfer the data from another Mac, its backups, or from a Windows computer. If you have any data to transfer, this is usually the best time to do it.
    Then run Software Update and install all available system updates from Apple. To upgrade to a major version of OS X newer than 10.6, get it from the Mac App Store. Note that you can't keep an upgraded version that was installed by the previous owner. He or she can't legally transfer it to you, and without the Apple ID you won't be able to update it in Software Update or reinstall, if that becomes necessary. The same goes for any App Store products that the previous owner installed — you have to repurchase them.
    3. Other issues
    If you see a lock screen when trying to boot from installation media or in Recovery mode, then a firmware password was set by the previous owner, or the machine was remotely locked via iCloud. You'll either have to contact the owner or take the machine to an Apple Store or another authorized service provider to be unlocked. You may be asked for proof of ownership.
    If the previous owner "accepted" the bundled iLife applications (iPhoto, iMovie, and Garage Band) in the App Store so that he or she could update them, then they're linked to that Apple ID and you won't be able to download them without buying them. Reportedly, Mac App Store Customer Service has sometimes issued redemption codes for these apps to second owners who asked.
    If the previous owner didn't deauthorize the computer in the iTunes Store under his Apple ID, you wont be able to  authorize it immediately under your ID. In that case, you'll either have to wait up to 90 days or contact iTunes Support.
    When trying to create a new iCloud account, you might get a failure message: "Account limit reached." Apple imposes a limit of three iCloud account setups per device. Erasing the device does not reset the limit. You can still use an account that was created on another device, but you won't be able to create a new one. Contact iCloud Support for more information.

    You installed a hacked app, originally from the Mac App Store. It contains the receipt for a different app, downloaded using an account that you don't control. You need to identify and remove the hacked app.
    Important: The app you need to remove is not necessarily the one named in the App Store alert. For example, the App Store may prompt you to update "Angry Birds" or "Twitter," but the hacked app may be something else entirely. Don't make any assumptions about which app you're looking for. To find it, you must carry out a systematic search with Spotlight.
    1. Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:
    kMDItemAppStoreHasReceipt=1
    Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
    2. In the Finder, press command-F to open a search window, or select
    File ▹ Find
    from the menu bar. In the search window, select
    Search: This Mac
    from the row of tokens below the toolbar. Below that is a popup menu of search criteria, initially showing Kind. From that menu, select
    Other...
    A sheet will drop down. In that sheet, select
    Raw Query
    as the criterion, then click OK or press return.
    Now there will be a text box to the right of the menu of search criteria. That's where you enter the raw search query. Click in that box and paste the text you copied earlier by pressing command-V.
    4. The search window will now show all the App Store products that are installed. Compare those search results with the list of your purchases from the App Store. To see the complete list, you may need to unhide hidden purchases. If any apps were download from the App Store using other Apple ID accounts that you control, sign in to the store under each of those ID's and check the purchases.
    At least one of the apps in the Spotlight search results is not among your purchases in the App Store. Move each such item to the Trash, after quitting it if it's running. You may be prompted for your administrator password. Empty the Trash.
    Quit and relaunch the App Store. Test.
    If you find these instructions confusing, ask for an alternative method.

  • Photo file names in ipad changed with last update, how can I change them ?

    When I transfered photos from my SD card to the ipad, it created an event naming it after the date pictures were taken, after last ipad OS update SOME of the events names changed to 126IMPRT, xxxIMPRT, etc not even in order of date taken, and the others remained with the date. Can someone tell me how to fix this and put them back with the date, and keep naming them with the date when transfering from the SD card?. This is strictly for the ones transfered to the ipad directly, has nothing to do with the photos transfered using iphoto. These are ok.

    Thanks Applematt9812, that works great. I never saw that before. It lets you group pictures under the Albums tab nicely.
    But, unfortunately, it doesn't fix the names of the groups that get created under the Events tab when you load pictures from a camera card. If that was editable it would help.

    Hmmm...
    That should work.  Go here to determine if there is perhaps a third Apple ID involved!  If not, perhaps your memory isn't what is used to be.  Change the password.
