Krissy,
Welcome to the forum !
I can appreciate that you have a lot of things on your mind and some of them we may be able to help you with here, and some may require support that is beyond what we can provide through the forum.
If you are missing driver support for your camera, I would start with downloading and reinstalling the camera drivers from our support site.  Here is the page for all the drivers relevant to the B570.
If you are unable to get the camera of other functions of the system working properly, you may want to give technical support a call 877-453-6686 in the US.  They can help you get the camera working again and can remote into your system if needed.
Some of your questions may related to some installed programs no longer working as you expect them too.  Missing buttons, etc.    For this kind of help, we have some support services that may be available for a nominal fee - these are LenovoCare Premium support.  The are available by phone or chat, and can also remote into your system to address some kinds of software and configuration issues that are outside the scope of normal warranty service.   The number is 877-737-1082.
Sorry to hear about your troubles.  I hope that some combination of these support options will help get your system working again the way you need.
Best regards,
Mark

  • Iphone 4s was unable to detect any wifi networks and was told to pay £159 to get the entire phone replaced, should i do it?

My iphone 4s does not detect any wifi networks but the apple genius said that the wifi signal seems to be fine but it just is not detecting any wifi networks and because I cannot find my receipt for the phone and the apple store only dates back purchases up to 18months ago, is there a way i can obtain my receipt?

If your warranty is up, the replaced iPhone will have a 90 day warranty.
    Out-of-Warranty Service

All fees are in British pound sterling and include VAT. iPhone Out-of-Warranty Service may also be available from your wireless carrier. Pricing may vary.
When setting up out-of-warranty service, Apple will request credit card pre-authorisation for the maximum service fee listed above. This amount will be deducted from your credit limit. The final service fee we charge will be determined during testing and may be less than the service fee listed above.
Certain damage is ineligible for out-of-warranty service, including catastrophic damage, such as the device separating into multiple pieces, and inoperability caused by unauthorized modifications. However, an iPhone that has failed due to contact with liquid may be eligible for out-of-warranty service.
Apple reserves the right to determine whether or not your iPhone is eligible for Out-of-Warranty service. iPhones that are repaired or replaced have a 90-day limited hardware warranty or assume the remainder of your standard warranty or AppleCare product coverage, whichever is longer. • HT4157 I have a Verizon MiFi device I use as a WiFi for my Macbook and it works fine. I am trying to connect my i Pad to this wifi device and it just twirls around like it is unable to locate it. Wondering what I should do?

I have a Verizon MiFi device that I use as a WiFi for my Macbook and it works great. I am trying to set up my new iPad to the same device for WiFi and it comes up as a selection but when I click on it all it does it twirl around and won't connect. Needing to know how to proceed to get it to connect? Thanks

There are other things to try.
Turn WiFi off on the iPad, restart it and then turn WiFi on again.
Reset the network settings on the iPad. Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings, that makes you have to start all over again.

  • HELP Ideapad u310 touch win 7

    Hi everybody
i got this ideapad U310 touch brand new and it came with win 8, then after i bought it i installed a win 7, it was working fine but the windows was asking for a valid prodcut key, i tryed a couple and no luck , so i found another win 7 from a friend with a valid serial , i installed the fist part, restart and finish the installation and then when was about to restart again now it only shows the lenovo logo and restart ,and keep restarting from the lenovo logo.
any help please , because i dont want to install the win 8.
    thank you.

    hi luifej,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
If the Installation completed and the product key was accepted , Then you should be able to log back in.
It's possible that the Installation got corrupted
Try Booting in Safemode by tapping F8 when on Lenovo Logo and see if that works.
I would Suggest do another Install of Windows 7 and Try completing it again,
Note: Use a product key that has not yet been used for another computer, WIndows may detect that the key was already used and prevent you from Using It,
If you wan't to get a product Key You might want to call Microsoft and Let them know you need a retail Product key (fees will apply) as this is a different Version of Windows from the Preinstalled.
    Best Regards

  • U310 Touch Unable to enter Setup

I purchased a U310 Touch back in May and I love this machine, it is amazing. I am a tech so I am periodically entering my BIOS to disable secure boot and boot into a USB flash drive to test some features I am constantly developing for use on customer machines. I attempted to enter setup today (pressing onekey recovery button and clicking enter setup) and instead my computer just went straight to Windows 8 ... thinking this was a fluke I tried again using FN + F2 ... again straight to OS ... finally I tried FN + F12 ... still nothing ... pulled HDD and SSD, removed battery, held power for 30 seconds, still no luck. SO my computer works as far as going to my OS, but I am unable to enter setup or change boot devices ... I was thinking I could just reflash my BIOS using the one from the drivers section of the Lenovo Support page but guess what isn't there? The original BIOS. So I was wondering does anyone have a backup of the U310 Touch BIOS? and or a good tool to reflash the BIOS? I could obtain a clean BIOS backup from a demo computer at my work, but I need a tool to reflash it that works in Windows 8. Ideally I would love a Lenovo tech to post an updated BIOS so I could just install that (I am lazy, sue me)

  • Time Machine Backup locks up WiFi adapter

I have a MBP that connects to a shared USB external HDD via my Airport Extreme.  This external volume is only used for Time Machine and never is disconnected from the router. Under Snow Leopard, if I happened to be doing an auto backup (hourly) and put my machine to sleep/suspend by closing the lid, the backup would abort.  Upon resuming, and having my uptime counter click through another hour it would attempt again.  I had no issues with my networking adapter or anything.
Under Lion though, shutting the lid and coming back later results in a hung network adapter.  The Time Machine icon in the tray continues to spin, even though the drive may not be attached (Under Snow Leopard, TM would "wake-up" the attached HDD, a proces of 15 seconds, and it would appear on my desktop before the backup would begin).  I'll lose any associated AP that I was connected to over WiFi, and even browsing through the list shows both bands of my Airport AP available, even though it won't associate.
The only way out of this loop I've discovered is to disable the WiFi adapter, and waiting perhaps 30 seconds.  Eventually TM gives up and it appears to "release" my Wireless adapter.  Only then can I power it back up, and have it auto-associate to my AP.  Sometimes, attempting to Turn Off WiFi gives me a spinning beach ball for approx. 10-30 seconds.  The adapter status is "unknown".  Other applications continue to function, but the adapter is useless during this time.
This has happened several times...I'm at a loss to explain it, but it seems unique to Lion.  Somehow, some function doesn't allow TM to abort before my machine properly suspends.
I also have a theory regarding the network adapter: I broadcast a different AP name for the 5gig band, which my MBP joins.  In Snow Leopard, my Mac would transparently join the 2.4gig AP name, mount the drive, and start backing up.  That doesn't happen in Lion; it seems to stay continually attached to the 5gig band SSID.
What other info would be relevant to the masses? Let me know and I'll try and dig it up.  Is anyone else having this same issue?

    GeekApproach wrote:
Regardless of whether or not it's supported by Apple, it is a touted feature of the Airport Extreme.
Some Apple Store employees have told customers it will work, but it's not "touted" otherwise.  It's not mentioned, either way, on the online AppleStore page (several of us have been trying to get that changed for years).
And yes, as noted in the link, it does work for some folks for some period of time.  But most will, sooner or later, find their backups corruped, often beyond repair. Thus the recommendation to keep secondary backups.
Also, considering even the Time Capsule HDD uses an internal USB interface to make itself available to the networking hardware, I'm having trouble seeing why using an external device would be different given all other things being equal:
That's the rub; they're not equal.  The hardware inside the Airport Extreme is not the same as in the Time Capsule.  Apple won't say, of course, but those who've taken them apart think the buffer in the Airport is too small, and/or the chips aren't capable of as much verification and recovery as the TC's innards.  Thus the corruption problems, especially when there are WIFI or power issues.
We heard the same thing when Snow Leopard came out; those who thought they'd been doing fine for a while under Leopard and then had trouble some days after upgrading to Snow Leopard were convinced it was something changed in SL.  Ditto just about every "point" upgrade in both Leopard and Snow Leopard, and we'll no doubt see it when 10.7.1, etc., are relased.
Perhaps the next upgrade of the Airport Extreme will use the same hardware as the TC, or at least be improved.

  • Why did I get an email from the fraud dept saying my order is on hold, told to call a number, and then told by dept it's not true?

I placed an order to upgrade my phone yesterday, and the order went through, I was told the new phone would arrive Thursday. After I got home from work today I saw an email from Verizon that says "Dear Customer:
Verizon Fraud Prevention Team is currently reviewing the following order on your wireless account. Please call the Verizon Fraud Prevention Team at 888-483-7200 option 3, press 1 to verify this Order."
I called this number immediately, since I need this phone ASAP, assuming it would just be a recording and I would have to verify an account number or something. But instead, after following the instructions, I was put on hold because I needed to speak to someone in person. After several instances of my call being cut off after being on hold for at least half an hour, I finally got through after three hours and was able to speak to a fraud representative. I gave her my info and told her the problem and she told me I had called the wrong department. Instead of the fraud department, I needed the online order department. She transferred me, and I waited on hold again. When the representative from the online order dept picked up, she first told me if it was a fraud issue I'd need to speak with the fraud dept - who had JUST transferred me to her. After this, she said that my order is not on hold, because it hasn't even been processed yet or had the credit check done. When I asked if this meant I hadn't needed to call at all, she said yes. Is this actually true or is there a chance that there's an issue with my order I don't know about? If there is no issue, these emails really shouldn't be sent out, they're incredibly misleading, and I've wasted a whole lot of time and experienced an incredible amount of anxiety for no reason.

Hi.  I checked on the order and it says the order is currently being processed and I should check back tomorrow. I'm mostly just concerned because I got an email saying the order was on hold, and I want to make sure it actually does go through and I'm not just waiting for a delivery that's not going to come. I'm still confused as to why I'd get an email saying I had to call the fraud department only to be told I shouldn't have called the fraud department.

My Lenovo Idea Pad connects fine at home on our ATT internet connectoin, but will not connect to a local public network at a local departent store.  Anyone having suggestions email me at xxxxxxxxxxxxxx  Thank you!\

Moderator note; e-mail address removed to stop the spambots getting it

I just saw your post and I resolved this on mine for my wired connection. I'm willing to bet that the issue is the same for wireless. Here's what I found.
    Issue:
During the installation, iTunes installs some network components related to mobile device support over ethernet(Apple Mobile Device Ethernet Service - netaapl.inf). At the same time, according the logs, the install process removed OEM18.inf. This almost exactly coincided with the time that I saw the network connection die (preceded it by a few seconds).
Basically, iTunes appears to be removing a required network component.
    Resolution:
After installing iTunes and the network connection breaking, remove the network device from Device Manager and allow Windows to reinstall it automatically.
The following instructions are for Windows 7, but they are close enough to follow for other versions of Windows.
    1. Click the Start button (Jewel in Vista and Win7).
    2. Right-click Computer and click Manage in the menu that appears (type your password or click Yes if prompted).
    3. On the left side of hte Computer Management window, click Device Manager.
    4. Click the arrow (or plus sign) next to Network Adapters to expand that section.
    5. Right-click your network adapter and click Uninstall in the menu that appears.
    6. Click OK.
    7. Reboot.
Windows should automatically detect and reinstall your network device on boot.

  • WiFi Networks and an iPod Touch.

I have seen many comments about WiFi networks and the seemingly impossibility of the iPod to connect to some.
However, I have not come across a solution to my issue - there may have been one but I confess I've not been successful at finding it!
I have set up a home network. At first I used an Airport Extreme but then it died so I set things up with a NetGear DG834GT. The home network uses a WPA2 password.
At home no problem - my MacBook Pro (Core2Duo), my son's iMac i7, my 2nd Gen iPod Touch (4.2.1) and my iPad 2 all connect great to the WiFi network.  I can surf the web etc etc. I'm a happy bunny.
When I'm out and about I often use my iPod Touch to get access to the web and my e-mails etc using WiFi.  Most networks are secured meaning you have to type in a password.  Hotels are like this and usually there is no problem once the front desk gives me the password.  The unsecured ones are often WiFi Zone Hotspots where you have to pay to continue.  I don't usually bother with these.
Some sites though offer unsecured, free access and free internet use - coffee shops in particular.  A coffee shop near me has such a network and I have absolutely no problem connecting.  However, I have come across a few networks which show up in the "Available Networks" list complete with name etc.  And yet when you select this network and try to join I get the message "Unable to join such and such Network.  Obvioulsy with no network connection there is no internet etc.
Usually I simply ignore this problem and wait until the next WiFi network is available (when I get home?).  Not quite so reliable if home is 3000 miles away!
But does anyone know why there are some networks that I cannot join?  Is there a solution for this that I can carry out?  I've tried the usual things like resetting the iPod, forgetting the network etc.  Obviously I do not have access to the router as this is owned and operated by the company/enterprise concerned.
Not a show stopper by any means but an irritation nevertheless.  Incidentally, there were also a few networks recently on my travels where both the Touch and the iPad behaved the same.  i.e. I couldn't join some networks with either device.
    Thoughts?

Interesting hypothesis B-rock.  I could try contacting the network administrator but my guess is that I'll be met with a blank look when I ask for that! Still can't be bad to try!
Another piece of "anecdotal" evidence for you.  At the local garden centre (which is part of a chain) I used to be able to connect - no problem.  Then suddenly all connections failed - at all locations.  I am leaning towards believing that they have changed routers to more "modern" ones and for some reason these new routers won't allow connection to an iPod/iPad etc.  As yet I cannot confirm this or otherwise and unless someone comes up with a bright idea I'm left with the feeling that unless the network administrator recognises that he/she needs to create a network that works with iPads/iPhones etc we're doomed.  I noticed that the next table over using a PC had no problems!  Grrrr.

    try this.
get back into your router's settings and start deleting devices that are not connected to your router.
you can also delete the ones that are connected - they'll connect again.
on the DHCP side of it, increase the amount of users that can connect/log in to your router.
see if that sorts it out for you.

  • Many Issues plauging my u300s (WiFi adapter, trackpad, sound and battery)

    Hi everyone,
I got my Lenovo u300s (i7, 256GB variant) more than two years ago, sometime in April 2012. However, now the laptop has a host of issues. Performance wise, it is great. But the issues are with the parts of the ultrabook.
    As follows:
    1) My WiFi adapter "dies" after 15 mins or so after turning on the laptop. To re-enable it to work, I need to restart my computer. In the first 10-15 mins, the WiFi works as per normal, then it just dies.
    2) My trackpad cannot right click. Makes it very hard to use MS Word and even the Internet as right-clicking is a integral part of using a mouse/trackpad. Otherwise, the trackpad works well and is one of the strong points of the u300s.
    3) Sound does not work 99% of the time. The built-in speakers do not transmit any sound, and only occasionally, all of a sudden it will play the sound, and then die back down.
For all three cases, I have re-installed the drivers. But no improvements whatsoever.
If I do decide to send my u300s in for repair, how much might it cost? The u300s cost a bomb, and as such is there any chance Lenovo can repair these defects for free?
Also, on top of that, my battery has become really poor, even though I have not used my u300s much in recent months. It can barely last 2 hours on a single complete charge.
I'm hoping to stick with the u300s, cause like I said performance is still very snappy, but these defects around the laptop just makes it undesirable to use it.
    Thanks!
