Less than a Month into BT and already shocked

I am so shocked by BT I signed up for broadband as I really liked the upload speed compared to virgin media or Sky but wow am I regretting it now. 
I signed up and everything was delivered and setup just as they said it was and even my infinity 2 speed is close enough to what they claim so was happy. 
now the 1st part I can take responsibility for after moving address I failed to notify the bank in time and my account frozen due to a security issue so 1st direct debit was declined I admit that is not BTs fault an oversight on me. 
Within 2 days BT phone me and state my Username and account number and query the missed payment not thinking of it as I am aware BT operates in India and as they had more account details than I had I thought nothing off it they even told me it was £48.xx and would I like to pay over the phone by card. So I used my other account account and paid £87.62 as apparantly I was being charged for late payment and a chase up fee etc I thought it was steep and out of order a bit but didnt want anything bad against me so I paid. 
I thought nothing off it I had no more calls no emails etc until today when I went to go online to see my account suspended and I had to make an online payment to ractivate my account bearing in mind I had just paid £87 and now they want an additional £48 so £135 and I have not even had broadband/phoneline 1 month so I paid it just to get my service back which I have just been notified can take over 24 hours (really slow and bad for a company the size of BT)
SO turns out some how my BT account details were leaked from BT to a scammer I had not even had my account number and the scammer did and confirmed numbers are correct. 
WHere as I thought I had paid I hadnt after a long while talking to BT who have now offered to have some bt security team call me. I can live with the fact a big company like BT sells your information on or somehow someone can get personal details as there system is not as secure as we would like to think (I am not happy about it but I know this happens) 
WHat I can not live with is there extortianate rates they charge a victim of cyber crime they are as bad as scammers now I do not mind paying the odd few quid for the refused direct debit as that is partially my fault but a late payment charge, an  £18 reconnection fee and charge for refused direct debit, not to mention the lost £87.62 stolen as scammers had got my details from BT somehow. 
I know as far as BT are concerned that is not there problem as I made the payment but how did the scammers get my account number before I did ?? Is it really fair that I am going to be paying almost £200 for my 1st month of broadband. 
I am not impressed and still 6 hours after confirmed payment I still have no broadband and been told it will be back on in 2 days, so much for running a business from home!!!!!
and now what is up with this router first week was absolutely fine but I am having to factory reset the router almost daily now as it seems to be pushing  some firmware update that keeps rebooting the router and dropping internet several tomes a day. So on top of £200 almost spent for line rental and charges I will have to also fork out an additional £140 to get an actual decent router that works as this is a known issue with the BT HUB. 
I would have thought someone that has been in the game as long as BT and someone that has alll the infrastructure as they do should be able to reconnect your service at a touch of a button and not make us wait 3 days to get reconnected. 
I would have thought they have the resources to protect our data but then I guess this is the problem with them saving their money and having cheap labour abroad where god knows what is happening to our information. FUnny thing is my neighbour switched to bt infinity on my initial recomendation and within 3 days of his installation he to has had people calling up demanding money from BT which he now thinks is the same scammers as I Had. 
I am not impressed so far and really feel let down. On the bright side I did get a much appreciated Sainsburys Voucher that works fine now I just wish I could get broadband to work properly at a reasonable price so that I can run my business. I regret moving away from sky after 10 years of excellent service but saw I could get faster with BT infinity here as sky only offer the 38mb package here. 
Oh well I hope things get better and I won't have any more problems I have ranted but I really wished I researched before signing upto a 12 month contract. 

It depends on how critical your connection is. Business customers get a much faster repair time, and are given priority over residential customers, and will pay compensation on some of their SLAs.
If you do not mind being without service for three to seven days, then the residential service should be fine, otherwise you should be on a business package, with a proper SLA (Service Level Agreement).
Its not simply the amount of usage you make of the service.
The residential service is aimed at the general public, who use it for web browsing, e-mail, gaming, and streaming services like YouTube.
You can get advise on this forum from other residential customers, but they are not going to be able to fix your faults, as this is only a customer to customer forum.
The firmware issue is discussed on a number of threads on the  forum. Alternative VHDSL modem/routers are also suggested.

    Dear BT and Forum users,
    I am not very happy with my BB service right now and have come on here in the hope that I might get more that platitudes and fob offs.
    So...  a few weeks ago my husband finally gave into the sales calls and agreed to have Infinity installed. Our reason - not so much faster internet but in the hope we might get a consistant service.The service we had before that was tempermental at best and we were sick of having to reset the router every other day.  (in hindsight we should have just gone with an alternative ISP).
    It was installed a couple of weeks ago and worked well until last Wednesday, since then the service has been a comedy of errors.  To start with my husband confirmed from the outset that they problem was not coming from inside the house but the customer service operator insisted on booking an engineer.
    We agreed to the Friday morning appointment. I booked the morning off work (using annual leave) and the engineer didn't show up. My husband called at 12.30 (they won't take calls from me as I'm not on the bill) and he was assured the appointment was booked in. Shortly after 1 I took a call at the home to say the "system" had lost the booking and the engineer wouldn't be coming.
    I said I was in all day, he could come now but that was clearly off script and the call centre operative wouldn't enterntain the idea (annoyingly there were 2 BT vans in my neighbourhood that afternoon). Instead they wanted me to rebook another 4 hour appointment. I couldn't stop in Saturday and wasn't going to lose more leave. I said I would discuss the options with my husband. 
    What followed that afternoon was a series of coversations with them, some with me at home and some with my husband at work offering the same options and us giving the same response. I don't know if the operatives weren't talking to each other or didn't understand but it was really irritating. In the end they said they would call my husband at 4pm. They called some time after 5 and said the would try the exchange first and call us Monday morning if they needed to access the property.
    Saturday 8.30 the engineer called to say they were on their way, we had the time so we waited. He arrived and was in the house all of 15 minutes before confirming the problem was in the exchange (all that time wasted for that!). We got a call Sunday to say they needed a new part at the exchange then today my husband got an undecipherable voicemail and a text saying the service will be fixed in the next 72 hours. He has spoken to them this evening and we're still non-the-wiser as now there's a fault further up the line. 
    Whilst all this is going on we have tried to find out if they expect us to pay for the Infinity and BT Vision whilst the services are not working. All they will say is they won't look at refunding losses until the issue is fixed. I realise they can't give us a total but it was a pretty straight forward question - am I paying for this non-service. One operator has said I can have £10 to cover the missed appointment (I value my time and annual leave a little higher).
    In all honestly the loss of internet and BT vision is frustrating but what has really dissapointed me is the lack of customer service. No one in the call centres seem to have a clue what's going on (we've had so many versions of what's wrong) and are too tied to a script. There's no sense of inconvenience - I'm supposed to be ready and waiting for 4 hours at a time but they will fix it sometime in the next 3 day. 
    Right now I'm not even sure its worth waiting to get this fixed.
    I'd love for someone to come on here and fix this for me but I'd settle for a little peer support/shared experience.

    OK, so I was being a little optimisitic. We're back online (yay!) but now the bill is just more of the same. Apparently we have to wait 48 hours before they will tell us how they are adjusting the bill  I understand that they cannot confirm the problem si fixed yet because of some internal policy but they won't even tell us how much they would calculate as of now - a pretty straight forward question. 
    So with that, we threw in the towel... said if they can't asnwer a simple question we were off. Of course when I told then operator this he said he's put me straight through to his boss and then left me on hold for over 20 minutes before I gave up!
    Called back to leaver dept. to be told we have to pay £200 to cancel (funny they could give us that figure pretty easily). I don't know what was said when he signed up but I am going to be investigating this further. We've had the service less than a month and its been broken a week.

    This is the second iphonev4s I have had to just turn off and can't get it to cone back on. I charge them to make sure it's not battery but they still won't come on. The first one did it within 30 days so they replaced it. My current one I have had less than 4 months. Anyone else?

    Unless you have another USB cable, and if that fails another computer to test the connection with, then I'd suggest you take the phone into an Apple store.

    The order varies depending on your individual needs:
    1. Maybe you have to activate/deactivate, so please have a look there:

    2. Sometimes, we know in the meantime, the "opm.db file" is the culprit. In this case you should delete it.
    3. Did you already try "uninstalling and re-installing"? Be careful with (de)installing aso. by (de)installing by your own resources. As much as I regret it and as strange as it may seem I fear it's a challenge for Adobe's Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool. Sometimes - for whatever reasons - CC doesn't "want" to work. In this case you should CC completely delete and reinstall by help of Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool. (A try to uninstall by own resources is not enough!)

    Last month my Droid Razr Motorola HD just stopped working, no reason, just stopped after working the night before.  :-( Posted here BTW, I received a replacement phone, a REFURBISHED on 04/14/2014 and guess what?  yes, it too doesn't work but for another reason, now instead of being dead, I can text but cannot hear anyone when they call me, it is a dead sound, I can call them and sometimes hear a staticy broken up conversation, sometimes nothing unless I put them on speaker!!!   This is as I said less than one month in with this phone, no damage has been done nor has it gotten wet!!  This is extremely unacceptable service!!!!   And why I adhore refurbished phones!!!!!

        I'm surprised to see you're having so many difficulties with such a popular phone, Terry_R. The warranty replacements go through pretty rigorous testing to make sure this type of difficulty doesn't occur. Although you can't hear the person, can they hear you? If you look into the headset jack of the phone, do you see any debris or corrosion? Please also make sure the phone is up to date by going to Settings>About Phone>System Updates.

    How to fix: the drive is in warranty, so contact Seagate for a replacement.
    How to recover your data: Do you have backups? (If not, you really, really, should.)
    You can try downloading Data Rescue, which will run in trial mode and let you know if the data is recoverable. (You can then choose to purchase the full version if it works for you.) A clicking drive, though, is usually (though not always) a sign that the drive cannot be recovered.

    Check with the theater system vendor and see if their system is compatible with the Nano. The resolution on the Nano may be too low for the system.

    Please describe the problem in as much relevant detail as possible. The better your description, the better the chance of a solution.
    For example, if the computer is slow, which specific actions are slow? Is it slow all the time, or only sometimes? What other changes did you make, if any, just before it became slow? Have you seen any alerts or error messages? Have you done anything to try to fix it? Most importantly, do you have a current backup of all data? If the answer to the last question is "no," back up now. Ask if you need guidance. Do nothing else until you have a backup.

    No, unless you break something or install the wrong RAM, new RAM is not covered by warranty/AppleCare of course.
