Letter Categories

When I watched the Mac World Presentation 2006, it showed that the 5th generation iPod would show the letter category you had selected. How come this doesn't work on my iPod?
P.S. Sometimes it would work for a little while, but I don't know what I did.

You need to have a iPod nano (Second Generation) and Fifth Generation iPod (Late 2006).
If it's an older iPod video, you do not have the search feature.

Also, the search feature displays all songs that contain (not start with) the letters you input.
You want the Fast scroll feature.
Again, this is avalable only with the latest iPod Update (on the 5G and Nano).

a long list by moving your thumb quickly on the Click Wheel.

To scroll quickly:
1 - Move your thumb quickly on the Click Wheel, to display a letter of the alphabet on the screen.
2 - Use the Click Wheel to navigate the alphabet until you find the first letter of the item you're looking for.
This takes you to the first item in the list beginning with that letter. Items beginning with a symbol or number appear before the letter “A.”
3 - Lift your thumb momentarily (or stop moving your thumb for about one second) to return to normal scrolling.
4 - Use the Click Wheel to finish navigating to the item you want.

Phonebook / Phone directory solution investigation

Hello,
I'm currently trying to find a solution in the perspective of editing a professional phonebook (+50000 entries in total) wich deals with mixed visual ads and text entries {name addresses and phones}.
My phone book key points are the following :
1) 3 columns layout.
Conditional master selection on a cyclic basis (to cycle trough 4 header and footer advertisement)
2) Text entries are :
Letter categorized (A|B|C|D|...for users pages, and pro categories on pro pages)
Conditionally formatted : 3 styles for handling 3 different type of text entries (normal lines, textad->black lines, textad->redlines)
plus handling of letter spacing in case the lenght of the entry is too long to fit the column.
3) Graphics entries :
12 differents graphics ads sizes to detect and import, Conditional Positionning/Anchoring of image blocks upon their size. 300dpi CMYK.
4) and for sure phone book style header management (eg. aa-ac)
5) At production time, I project to process data as chunks of 3000 entries at a time, thus representing 30pages or so.
I want minimal hand job once the file automatically processed.
As form what I read so far Indesign and counterperts plugins offer the possibility of automating it.
What I want to know is to wich point ?
Does someone in here did ever worked on something similar, would like to share toughts ?
As I investigate further I'll post my experience in here.

With this little piece of "code" I'm already almost to it.
Normal text entries, Texads and GraphicAds are processed nicely into my layout.
The only thing is that I have to manage the biggest GraphicsAds (like full page) by hand because they do not fit when inserted in the middle of a page. And if I anchor the full page Ad to page border, the Ad overlaps all of the text that is before its entry point...This is also true for some of the smaller GraphicsAds but in general all the smaller GraphicsAds (anchored at entry point) wich will represent 75% of the total are quite nicely distributed.
By the way, I found that Indesign itself seems to be quite limited when graphics are anchored inside of text blocks.
It's abylity to flow the text around it seems to me too much limited...
My problem is that sometimes image blocks overlaps either over text either over another image block(s) on the next column.
The real problem is that the image blocks are inserted inside the text block as if it was a text entry, and thus the text entered before the entry point of the image block cannot flow under it...
I guess the problem here is my Indesign layout. Or maybe just a limitation of Indesign...
Either way I guess I'll have to position manually some of the elements once the static file is generated (thing I would like to avoid).

IPod Touch isn't categorizing the artists into the right letter

I just recently updated my iPod touch to ios 5.1.1, and I had to resync all of my songs back on. My problem is that I have an artist that starts with the letter A, but for some reason my iPod keeps putting it into the letter D. Thanks in advance.

What do I do when my app store wont let me go back?

I was just o the App Store in the Featured folder when I clicked onto the App I liked. It took me to the page where I Could download it from my iPhone so I downloaded it. When I went back to the page I was on it wouldn't let me go back to the Featured page. I can go to categories, search, Top 25, and updates..., but I can't redeem money or get back to Featured page. I reset my iPhone and it worked, but then it happened again.

There have been reported problems with the App Store. We'll just have to wait it out.

Since your device is so new, I can state categorically that this an issue with configuration. Delete the account that doesn't work, and enter the information anew.
If you're still having problems, check that your email address and password are correct, and if possible, verify it by checking your ISP's settings.

Connect the iPod to your computer and look at the storage used by the various categories as shown in the colored bargarph in iTunes.
Come back with the results.

Error while importing categories to Outlook calendar

I'm sharing an Outlook calendar with my colleagues, and its events are categorized with colors. I found
this page for importing the categories to every local machine, and it worked! But for 2 users only were imported three of four categories, and I couldn't make that the missing category were included in the Master Category List.
What more can I do for making real the importing?

Are the two users using same email type with other users?
Please try backing up the Categories again from a working computer and then import the new back-up file on the two users' computer to check the result.
In addition, we can also try starting Outlook with
outlook.exe /remigratecategories switch to see if it will get a same result. To do this, exit Outlook, press Windows key + R to open the Run command, type
outlook.exe /remigratecategories and press Enter.

There is no need to replicate the item cat and item cat det from R/3 to crm
if u ve created new Item cat in R/3, u ve to create new item cat in CRM also and map them
there is no such object to download from r/3 to crm

Color categories for appointment in calendar

I just got a new computer. Was operating in Windows 7, now 8 with Microsoft Office 365. The data, contacts and calendar was pulled over from my Outlook 2007 to the new Outlook 2013. I love the color coded category feature I used to have.
I don't have an IMAP account for this email...it is not a gmail. It is a work email (POP) that i use Outlook 2013 for my email organization. From previous appointments that were transferred over - if I had a color category, it shows up when I open the appointment.
In new appointments I don't have this option. Tag shows Low or High Importance and Private but that's it. How can I get it to show on all the appointments I'd like to set?

From the description, when you create a new appointment in Outlook 2013, you cannot see the
Categorize button in the Tags group, however, the button is available if you open an appointment which is transferred from Outlook 2007, am I correct? So, how did you transfer the old data from Outlook 2007 to Outlook 2013?
Can you see the Categorize button from the Ribbon if we change to Mail pane?
In addition, when creating a new appointment, please click File > Properties, at the bottom of the Properties window, try add a category by clicking the Categories drop-down list to see the result.

Swap between two different item categories in sales orders for sub-contracting

Dear gurus,
my requirement is to have the ability to swap between two different item categories for sales orders for sub-contracting.
This should be controlled by a combination of the material and a value maintained the Usage field in the Customer Material Info Record (for example by entering a ‘V’). A combination of Sales Doc Type, Item Cat Group and Usage should result in the creation of a purchase requisition.
In the event that a process order is required instead of a purchase requisition (i.e. the product is to be manufactured in-house instead of sub-contracted) the user must have the ability to change the Item Category within the sales order to produce a process order.
The user would just change the item category within the sales order, and the system would automatically remove the purchase requisition assigned to the SO, and create a process order and assign it to the SO.
Can you suggest any possible solution?

In my system, I checked. First created sales order with third party line item and then changed item category to normal item category.
Till Purchase order not created, I can change Item category of my sales order line item.
In this case SAP inform by log and once save delete purchase requisition of that line item .
For this you need to assign another item category as an manual item category in SPRO Item category assignment.
After this user can manually change item category to other one manually, if PO do not exist.

Info Structure S031 - Information on movement type categories

How can I find out the movement type categories for the S031 info structure? For instance what movement types add to the "Goods receipt" total or the "Goods issue" total. Also, how do you "switch off the updating process for specific, individual movements" as mentioned in the SAP documentation below.

You can switch off the updating process for specific, individual movement types in inventory management or in one of the subsequent applications in the logistics chain."

I had similar requirement. You have two options:
1. Just as you've known you can use the field "Statistically relevant".
With this indicator, you control whether a movement type is statistically relevant for Inventory Controlling or not.
In the standard system, all movement types are set in such a way that all material movements for the valuated stock and for the vendor consignment stock are updated.
2. You can define by statistic group:
As of Release 3.0C, there is a customer-specific enhancement that enables you to define a maximum of 4 statistics groups for each movement type. The name for the statistics group has four digits and is freely definable. With the help of the statistics group, you can individually update key figures of Inventory Controlling.
Example: Key figure Consumption and Range of coverage
In table T156, the movement types are characterized as relevant to consumption. Consumption is correspondingly updated in Inventory Controlling. In the information system, it can be useful for the user to interpret issue quantities (that is actually no consumption) as consumption in order to calculate the range of coverage of the material.
Example: A material is always transported into another plant by stock transfer. In the issuing plant, no range of coverage can be calculated because the stock removal quantity is not affecting consumption (movement type 351).
What is to be done in detail?
a) Maintain table TMCA via Transaction SM31.
b) Use SAP enhancement MCB10001 for Inventory Controlling.
Here, you can change the field contents of communication structures MCBEST and MCBEST according to your requirements.

Making condition type unmandatory for free item categories

I've created a form routine in RV64ANNN the requirement is when we create or change sales order....we have few item categories were in we need to make a concern condition type unmandtory if items with those item category is created...else if make the condition type mandatory.........example...............this is done for only one pricing procedure......in V/08 tcode and there i've assinged our routine number for that condition type which needs to be changed dynamically.
say we have Sales doc type ZXXX for this sales doc type lets say we have item category ZITE1 and ZITE2.......and lets say the Condition type is ZCOND(whether the condition type is required or not is done by checking in tcode V/08 and this is always checked).now when the user enters creates a item 1 with item category ZITE1 and leaves the amount field blank it will however ask to enter the amount.......now here is the problem............if user creates second line item with item category ZITE2 its againing asking to enter the amount for that condition type.............this is happing even after i've desinged the below code.............

The table which has this mandatory checked is T683S and the field is KOBLI........i've debugged it the routine come up well with item category ZITE1 and the table gets updated with KOBLI = 'X' but when i navigate the screen in VA02 or in VA01 to second item created with item category ZITE2...the table logic does'nt goes and updates the above table............Suggest me with some solution........

Another user had success doing the following:
I got some help from an apple assistant on the phone. It is kind of round about way to get in.
Here is what he said to do and it is working for me...
a. on the device that is asking you for the security questions go to "settings", > "store" >
      tap the Apple ID and choose view"Apple ID" and sign in.
b. Tap on payment information and add a credit/debit card of your preference then select
      "done", in the upper right corner
c. sign out and back into iTunes on the device by going to "settings"> "store" > tap the
      Apple ID and choose "sign-out" > Tap "sign -in" > "use existing Apple ID" and you
      should be asked to verify your security code for the credit /debit card and NOT the
      security questions.
d. At this time you can remove the card by going back in to edit the payment info and
      selecting "none" as the card type then saving the changes by selecting "done". You
      should now be able to use your iTunes store credit without answering the security
      questions.
It's working for me ...I just have to put in my 3 digit security pin from the credit card I am using.

Microsoft Office 2013 - Fix for Outlook's color categories??

I am an Administrative Assistant and handle several people's calendars in my office. Not everyone uses the same colors for their categories.
Since installing Office 2013, I can no longer:
1. Change a color category without completely opening an invite. I can now only do this on
MY calendar from the calendar screen, without opening an invite. I used to be able to left click a meeting from the calendar screens select category and change just one occurrence. Now I get this error message:
"The operation failed. The messaging interfaces have returned an unknown error. If the problem persists, restart Outlook"
2. Change a color category for a single invite that is part of a series invite. In other words, It's all or nothing. For instance, yellow is our code for a conference call, so if a meeting series is usually a face-to-face meeting, but one day (bad weather,
etc...), we need to make it a dial-in only, I cannot change the color of that one day only.
Any known solution to these issues?

Have you tried recreating the mail profile? Some users have a similar issue were able to fix it by recreating a new Outlook mail profile in Control Panel. To create a new mail profile, go to Control Panel > Mail > Show Profiles and then click Add button

Reader X shuts down when trying to open more than one pdf, or when clicking certain categories in settings

Until a few weeks ago I have never had a problem opening more than one pdf at a time. Now Reader just shuts down when I try to do so. The same thing happens when I click on the yellow highlighted categories in settings. All the other categories open fine.
Appreciate the help of anyone who can help me solve this.

I guess you didn't know, but yes you can close more than one app at a time. You can close up to 3 apps at a time in the new IOS7 on the iPhone. Try opening at least 3 apps and then double click the main button to see what apps are opened. Then swipe to the left to see the three of them on your screen. Your not gonna see the ones on the side entirely but you can still put all three fingers on them, then simply swipe them up and it closes them up.
The thing is, when you have let say 10 apps open, and you start using this trick, some of them will stay open meaning you swiped them up to close them down but the bottom icon stays there. When you come back to your main IOS desktop and then go back to close the programs that you have opened, you can see that those apps are still opened. There is only like 2 or three out of all the 10 you had opened that stayed open, but none the less it's a bug in the system I presume.
You also asked about the icon at the bottom. When you are seeing what apps are opened, there is always a small icon at the bottom and on top you have a representation of what you were working on, and that is the part you swipe up. But often time the bottom icon will stay opened after swiping 2 or 3 of the apps to close them.
