Letters generated in bulk and attached to Accounts

I am a business analsyt and I have just been assigned to the implementation of a Siebel 8 system on Oracle. (No previous Siebel experience)
We are trying to find a way to send letters out to accounts. They need to:
1. Include fields from Siebel and standard text (I.e. like a mail merge)
2. be sent based on specific criteria (some of the criteria includes customised fields),
3. Generated in bulk (there are too many to be created individually)
4. Attached to the account record (so we have a record of the correspondence sent to the account).
We have been informed by the consulting company that is providing the implementation that this is not technically feasible using Siebel/Oracle.
We have been told that
A. Correspondence templates will provide us with the bulk generation but will not provide us with the customised criteria and will not automatically attach the letter to the account record.
B. Proposals will allow us to attach the record to the account record, but will not allow us to generate the letters in bulk.
They have suggested using Microsoft Word to do a mail merge in bulk or to use proposals to create the letter individually.
Does anyone know of a way to meet all four of our requirements using Siebel?

It's been a while since I last worked with Correspondence, but your requirements don't sound impossible to me.
Although Siebel might not do it out of the box, but as long as you generate Correspondence for Contacts and the Contacts are linked to an Account, the information is all there.
It could be that you need some Workflow in the background to set all the fields, but again, doesn't sound impossible to me.
Based on Bookshelf, you can't set criteria to generate Correspondence in bulk.
Probably with some customization you can make it happen, but it seems it's not supported by Siebel:

Unless they changed that between 7.8 and 8.x.

If so, then he would need to go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, click on the Apple ID and then click on Sign Off. Then he would need to sign on his Apple ID. He would also need to make sure that the Send and Receive email addresses did not include your email address....

    Try setting userAccountControl to 514 for an initial setting but do not rely on this being accurate for a existing user as the accountdisable flag is ony of many set in userAccountControl. See values below.

    You are allowed to have two activted installations, so if the first machine is the only machine with an activated installation there is nothing prohibiting you from installing and activating on the new machine.

    You would need to first create the form ( or Widget in EchoSign) first to generate a url which you can paste it in the email being sent to customers. You would need to make sure you have a Document Cloud Enterprise Premium account in order to create a Widget. If you don't have the account, you can use the trial version to test it.     On Demand doesn't support adding attachments via web services. One
    solution I've seen is depending on the scenario is to create a web link
    field on an object that's based on a custom text field. Your web service
    can populate that custom field and the web link can generate a dynamic
    link to the file in On Demand's UI. However, this depends on where the
    attachment is located and if the user needs some sort of firewall access.

    iTunes 10.6.3 keeps generating incomplete downloads AND it rearranges the order of the playlist when I burn a playlist to an mp3 cd.
    I purchased an album on iTues from my MAC book Pro & the song downloads were incomplete. The song length shows correctly in the column, but they cut off between 1/4 & 1/2 way through the songs. Now, I dwonloaded it on my iPhone 4 through my itunes account after the purchase & the songs play fine. This happened with the very next song I purchased, as well.
    I got around this issue, then created mp3 versions of all the songs, put them in their own playlist, then "Burned an mp3 disc." When it completed, the songs were in a different order.
    Are there any fixes for either of these problems/bugs?

    Hi All,
    I am working in SRM 7.0 classic scenario and i have requirement in which i need to add custom field in 'Notes and Attachment" tab of the shopping cart portal.
    I have added those fields in structure --- INCL_EEW_PD_ITEM_CSF and INCL_EEW_PD_ITEM_CSF_SC.
    Also implemented the BBP_DOC_CHANGE_BADI in while i am populating the custom field value.
    I have created custom field as INPUT FIELD in webdynpro component /SAPSRM/WDC_DODC_NA and view : V_DODC_MAIN_VIEW.
    Now I can see the custom field value in table BBP_PDISC, but i am not getting the value in Shopping cart "Notes and Attachments" tab.( I am able to see the field but not the value of it).
    The value is getting populated in ITEM DATA tab instead.
    Please suggest if i am missing anything in the process and how to achieve this.

    Hi,
    You have done everything.. well.. except that you did not set the attribute of the input field to this value.
    When you have value u just need to bind it using set_attribute method of the element.
    Use  ctr+f7 to generate the wizard .. select in set mode.. click on context and select the attribute that you have created in the context.

    In your situation I strongly recommend you read over that KB article. The international iTunes Stores are not cross-compatible.
    My understanding of how it would work is that when activating iTunes Match on your US Store account, any songs you have in your iTunes Library that were purchased from the AUS Store account will NOT be matched. As I understand it, those files will be uploaded (which means you need the files on a local HDD). I also do not think it is possible to have iTunes Match active on more than one store ID on the same computer. But since iTunes Match is not available internationally yet, that point is moot for the moment.
    To be honest you might want to wait until the service is available internationally so you can guage how will it will serve you.

    Business area will have many profit centers. For example Vehicle is a business area in a company. Vehicle can be cars and Bikes etc. Here Vehicle is business area and Cars and Bike are profit centers. In broad Vehicle is a profit center. But as it has sub areas those are profit centers. So profit centers cannot be replaced with business area and vice versa. We can replace business area by Profit centre, only condition is that it should be in same controlling area. The business area is more like a business unit of a company. You can have multiple profit centers within a business area.
    Main distinguish factor is that distribution and assessment in possible in profit center but not in business area.
    One more distinction is that Business area need not be attached to any organisation structure. But profit centres can be created only under the controlling area. Business area can be across controlling area.
    Business area concept is used for making stragic decisions by the management whereas the primary purpose of profit centre accounting is responsibility accounting.

  • PCA and Balance Sheet Accounts

    My client wants to generate Profit Center Financial Statements e.g., Balance Sheet (B/S) and Profit and Loss (P&L)  The entire Chart of Accounts was assigned to Profit Centers, and all B/S and P&L accounts can be viewed in the GLPCT table.  This table is populated with all of the beginning balances for the B/S accounts.  I activated DataSource 0EC_PCA_3 and 0EC_PCA_4.  DataSource 0EC_PCA_4 provides beginning balances for a handful of B/S accounts from table GLPCA e.g., A/R, A/P, Inventory, and Fixed Assets.  However, I would like to be able to report on all B/S accounts with drill down capability to the line item level.  What would be the best business practic for delivering this capability?  My client is on R/3

    Are you sure you want line item drill down on the sub ledger recon accounts on PCA - ?
    Are the month end jobs posting balances per PCA - 1KEK etc..
    if you want line item detail (not on the sub ledger accounts - but on the rest of the balance sheet then I suggest..
    0EC_PCA_3 (GLPCA) into a line item cube (this will hold line items for all P&L and 99% of balance sheet accoutns - ie not the sub ledgers)
    0EC_PCA_1 in delta mode to a cube that is similar to GLPCT
    0EC_PCA_4 to a cube that is similar tp GLPCT (this will  take the subledger data)
    add in the OSS note to calc 0BALANCE properly in the update rules (so you have a balance even thoguh there is no movement inthat period
    Multicube the 0EC_PCA_1 and 0EC_PCA_4 cubes - this will then give you a full P&L and Balance sheet at profit centre, functional are, gl accoutn and co code level
    Then RRI down to the 0EC_PCA_3 cube if you wish line items (althoug not for the subledgers)
    You need to ensure all the GL accoutn sare set up in PCA config in R3 - so everythign posts
    You also need to be very very very careful with data taken on in R3 - ie if you do the sugegsted wya of doing history loads for TBs and custoemr open items - then you are not going to get decent profit centre allocations in PCA
    And .. this is all dead anyway as the new extended GL functionality in R3 kills all this in ECC5 - as you can allocate "profit centre" or segmentation at posting of invocie time or cash posting and don;t have to wait until month end to run 1KEK etc

    if yes then u have to create one custom report for Generic Object Services   ( like notes , attachment  , url )

    According to the document principle. a document must be generated and stored in the system for every transaction/event that causes a change in stock.
    When posting a goods movement in the SAP System, the following documents are created:
    <b>Material document</b>
    In the Inventory Management system, when a goods movement is posted, a material document is generated that serves as proof of the movement and as a source of information for any applications that follow.
    A material document consists of a header and at least one item. The header contains general data about the movement (for example, its date). Each item describes one movement.
    <b>Accounting document</b>
    If the movement is relevant for Financial Accounting (that is, if it leads to an update of the G/L accounts), an accounting document is created parallel to the material document.
    In some cases, several accounting documents are created for a single material document. This might be the case, for example, if you have two material document items with different plants that belong to different company codes.
    The G/L accounts involved in a goods movement are updated through an automatic account assignment.
    For goods receipts for purchase orders, goods movements for stock transport orders and consignment withdrawals, business partners may have different local currencies. Therefore, as well as the local currency, the accounting document must also contain another currency for processing and postings. For this purpose, accounting documents created as a result of these goods movements will automatically be managed in the local currency and in the document currency. Similar to account postings, documents created in other modules such as production planning, sales & distribution, materials management, controlling, also get posted if they affect the general ledger i.e. SAP GL. A user in SAP does not even have to manually post a document / line item. SAP can be configured for automatic posting though an option is available for manual posting as well.

    I developed a form in forms 6i for my client/server application. It was working well in c/s environment. I use to generate a PDF file and send the same file via attachment to the person by giving its e-mail address.
    But the same form is not working when i have deployed the form on web via forms9iAS.

    Have used d2kwutility to execute my report. i have also instaled outlook on my application server.
    Now when i try to run my report and send e-mail it gives the following error.
    ORA-305500
