LG 32LH40 32" 120hz LCD connecting to PC issues

Just purchased a LG 32LH40 lcd tv from Best Buy and the picture is great EXCEPT one issue:
I would like to use the TV occasionally as a monitor.  Dead set on using DVI2HDMI and the tv is not picking up the signal.  When I connect the pc and tv with the cable my pc finds the tv as a Generic PnP Display.  My PC has an Nvidia 8800GTX which can handle all HD formats.  After the connection is made, I open Nvidia Control Center and the tv is displayed as LG TV, but no matter what settings no luck.  The TV simply displays the message 'No Signal'.
There are only two reasons I can think of that this isnt' working.  First, the DVI2HDMI cables I have are not v1.3.  This is most likely not the problem.  Secondly, there is an issue with the tv supporting 120hz.
Going to buy a new v1.3 DVI2HDMI cable, which probably won't work.  Please, if anyone has been successful with any Nvidia card to this tv let me know what you did to get it working!
Thanks a ton!

If your TV says "no signal" usually that means you're on the wrong input.  You can change the TV's input with the TV remote.  Press the input or source button.  This should bring up a source menu, or toggle to the next input automatically.  The PC input is usually the last one listed.  Scroll down to it until it's highlighted, and press select/ok/enter (in the middle of the directional arrows).  If everything is connected properly, this should work.  If not, it's either not installed correctly, or one of the HDMI ports on the back of your TV isn't working.  I hope this helps!
Nothing I post is an official statment of Best Buy or Geek Squad, it is only a helpful opinion!

  • Unity Connection Voice Mail Issue

    Hi,
    I have a weird Unity Connection Voice Mail issue and would appriciate any help i can get. Many thanks in advance.
    I have Unity connection 7.0 and CUCM 7.0 integrated in a lab enviroment and here is what happens.
    When I place a call internally say from 2001 to 2002, things work as expected, 2002 rings and it goes to voicemail where I can leave voicemail and listen to it from 2002.
    However, if I place call from the PSTN to the same number 2002 (or any other number in other sites etc) the call again rings in 2002 and goes to voicemail, unity cnx plays the greetings for 2002 and says record your message as usual. Everything up to point is fine, then when the time on the PSTN phone is showing around 14 seconds into the call unity starts playing, "to send this message press one", if I press one nothing happens.
    I have rebuilt unity and cucm, even just configured the bare minimum in the lab and still getting the same result. I tried calling from E1 connection and T1 connection but with the same results.
    I have run out of ideas...

    Sounds like one way audio from PSTN to your Unity Connection, couple of things to check:
    1. ensure your protocols are bound properly on the GW, i.e. SIP/H323/MGCP
    2. Make sure IP routing is OK between Unity and the voice gateway

    My macbook air will not connect to the internet. There is an exclamation point in the wifi icon and when i go into preferences i see that it is setting its own IP address. I have a macbookpro that is able to connect with no issue. HELP

    Reset the TC to factory and start again.
    Use all SMB type names for wireless and base station.. Not apple type names.. this is more important since Mavericks.
    I also recommend different names for the different bands.
    So for example.
    TC name.. TCgenx (I use whatever the generation number is for the x.. eg TCgen4 or latest one TCgen5)
    WIreless name.. TC24ghz for 2.4ghz
    TC5ghz for 5ghz
    You can also set the channel manually.
    If you still have issues.. start with no security and then if it fails to connect there is something seriously wrong with the laptop. Did you upgrade install Mavericks?? That can lead to driver issues.. I would recommend a clean install.

  • When starting the Add-on: Connection timed out issue

    When starting the Add-on: Connection timed out issue
    Hi,
    We have a client in SAP 2005 PL 44.
    I built the add-on for them using simple installer wizard ( I tried advanced set-up also).
    When starting the add-on, I get the message 'Connection Timed Out'.
    Add-on status is failed.
    But the add-on is actually connected. i.e, The functionality associated with the add-on is working fine.
    I had SAP 2007 before and un/reinstalled SAP 2005 in order to connect with this client.
    I had built the same add-on in a similar way for the same client for lot many times in the past, but I never got this issue.
    I tried the following:
    1) Delete SM_OBS_DLL and un/reinstall DI API
    2) un/reinstall B1DE
    Always I'm getting this error.
    Please let me know your inputs.
    Thanks.

    Bug: BLZ-152-lcds custom Date serialization issue - need to add java.io.Externalizable as the first type tested in AMF writeObject() functions
    QA: Yes - please check that the fix is working with AMF3 and AMFX and you can turn on/off the fix with the config option.
    Doc: No
    Checkintests: Pass
    Details: The problem in this case was that MyDate.as was serialized to MyDate.java on the server but on the way back, MyDate.java was serialized back to Date.as. As the bug suggests, added an Externalizable check in AMF writeObject functions. However, I didn't do this for AMF0Output as AMF0 does not support Externalizable. To be on the safe side, I also added legacy-externalizable option which is false by default but when it's true, it restores the current behavior.

  • 5.1.0 sp11 Connection pool refresh issue, revisited....again...!!!

    "Hello,
    From reading of these newsgroups I've seen many different manifestations
    of what seems to be the same root cause with connection pools and
    connections which are refreshed/replaced when found broken. In our
    case weblogic server hangs.
    Kit: 2xWeblogic 5.1.0 sp11 (not clusterd), Solaris 8,
    java 1.3.1_01, 1xoracle 8.1.6, latest JDBC 2.0 drivers from oracle. Each weblogic instance and oracle have their own machines.
    We do indeed have a firewall employed to run our subnets, and hence
    our weblogic servers and oracle databses are in different DMZ's, but are
    allowed to communicate to each other via rules set up on the firewall and
    inspection of the logs show no such connections being dropped.
    As far as the db is concerned, lookups (no writes) never take more than a few
    hundred milliseconds and are then closed and given back to the connection pool
    immediately from within the 'finally' block of code, hence hard to see when,if ever, the db is
    is closing them due to excessive idle time.
    weblogic.jdbc.connectionPool.RecipeDBPool=\
    url=jdbc:oracle:thin:@foo:1521:BAA,\
    driver=oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver,\
    loginDelaySecs=1,\
    initialCapacity=30,\
    maxCapacity=50,\
    capacityIncrement=1,\

    but am concerned as to why this problem wasnt highlighted during our
    load-testing phases...It's a possibility that your load-testing didn't present the same sort
    of load that your actual runtime does.
    Thanks for your time on this.Well sure. We want you successful.

    Hi Joe,
    Thanks for your reply
    Please find attached a copy of the jvm thread dump we got from thelast time
    that weblogic blocked upon trying to refresh a broken connection.
    We have turned off JIT with the environment settingJAVA_COMPILER=NONE.
    FYI hotspot is enabled with '-hotspot', these settings can be foundin the
    attached 'startWeblogic.sh'.Hi. I found a serious problem by reading the thread dump:
    "ExecuteThread-11" daemon prio=5 tid=0x179d40 nid=0x19 waiting for
    monitor entry
    [0xeee80000..0xeee819e0]
    at java.sql.DriverManager.getConnection(DriverManager.java:144)
    - waiting to lock <f8e77ad0> (a java.lang.Class)
    at com.akqa.sainsburys.jv_recipe.ejb.session.RecipeBean.getConnection(Re
    cipeBean.java:759)
    It is important to never call DriverManager methods in a multithreaded
    application
    such as Weblogic, because these JVM methods are alloverly synchronized
    at
    the class level. One such method, DriverManager.println(), is called
    continuously
    by all JDBC drivers as well as the SQLException constructor. If one
    server thread
    makes a long-lasting or hanging call to DriverManager.getConnection(),
    it can halt
    all JDBC in the whole JVM including work on other open driver
    connections.
    Please show me the code for RecipeBean.java, and I will send you an
    altered version
    that should solve this problem. In fact, I can infer from the thread
    dump what is needed.
    Change the one method getConnection() to this:
    // Make once and re-use a driver instance directly, avoiding
    DriverManager
    Driver d = (Driver)class.forName("weblogic.jdbc.jts.Driver").newInstance();
    public Connection getConnection()
    return d.connect("jdbc:weblogic:jts:yourPoolNameHere", null );
    Also, change your pool definition. I assume you have
    testConnsOnReserve set to true.
    (You should). Also, you should change your refresh minutes to
    something huge, like
    9999999. The refresh is interfering with your online performance and
    is unnecessary
    if you have testConnsOnReserve set. I recommend:
    weblogic.jdbc.connectionPool.RecipeDBPool=\
    url=jdbc:oracle:thin:@foo:1521:BAA,\
    driver=oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver,\
    loginDelaySecs=1,\
    initialCapacity=50,\ <------ note that this should be the
    same as max, so all cons are made at startup
    maxCapacity=50,\
    testTable=dual,\
    testConnsOnReserve=true,\
    refreshTestMinutes=9999999,\
    etc.
    Joe
    I've also attached some firewall logs around the time of weblogicblocking
    (12.09). I could only get screen dumps for you, this may or maynot be
    useful.
    For the firewall logs use the following legend :-
    195.110.64.205 - DNS
    172.16.160.195 - host webserver 1 (i.e. what our licenses are boundto)
    172.16.160.196 - host webserver 2
    172.16.160.220 - website 1
    172.16.160.230 - website 2
    Thanks

    Thanks for your time.sure, but first let's get you running OK. These dumps seem to be
    very cryptic, as if you're running a highly optimized JVM that
    loses almost all of the Java class references I'd normally see.
    Can you run again with a more basic JVM? I am beginning to suspect
    the JIT JVM...

    Fequently however, connections are found to be broken
    (either by periodical refresh - refreshTestMinutes or
    testing connection before granting it to the
    application - testConnsOnReserve=true), this has been
    confirmed by viewing JDBC.log .
    When this is so, weblogic attempts to replace these
    broken connections with new ones and then proceeds
    to grant it to the application. Once in a while however
    (and by no means 'x' refreshes later), weblogic will not
    come back.
    One of 2 errors occur in our deployment which cuase weblogic
    to refresh a connection.
    <JDBC Pool RecipeDBPool> java.sql.SQLException: No more data to read fromsocket
    and
    <JDBC Pool RecipeDBPool> java.sql.SQLException: Io exception: Broken pipe
    I believe these settings to all be correct, JDBC drivers
    in the correct point BEFORE weblogic.aux in classpath, yet
    still have the issue of broken connections.
    Any ideas ? I've been reading a lot into this probelm
    on various postings now, and i'm completely stumped.

  • Connection and Keyboard Issues (since 10.5.5 update?)

    Not quite the connection issues others are having, once Airport is connected, it stays connected. The issue is with initial connection. When I wake the Macbook up from sleep, I can't click to load anything on the internet/ in email for almost a full minute. If I do, or if mail tries checking for new email, whatever is attempting to load continues to attempt doing so for about 30 seconds or so, when it then tells me that I am not connected to the internet. Airport, however connects to the wifi just as quickly as ever (or, at least, it says it's connected). I just started noticing this issue the other day, around the time I updated to 10.5.5, so I can only assume it's from the update. I have not had any connection issues before this (the Macbook is about 3 months old).
    The other issue I've noticed does not happen consistently. Once in a while, when I press the button to decrease screen brightness, the brightness decreases completely and the screen turns black. The other day, I opened the computer up, and the screen was "stuck" black. I couldn't get the brightness to increase. While trying to tap keys to "wake it up," at one point I heard a ding, as if there was an alert that I needed to click OK on or something. I ended up giving up and holding the power button down to shut down and reboot, and haven't had the problem again since.
    I've searched the forums to see if others are having these problems, but all I can find is problems with frequent connection drops, and, like I said, I'm not have that issue.

    Help?
    This is very frustrating.

  • PowerMac 8600/250 LCD connection problem

    I've an 8600/250 with a Sonnet Crescendo G4 processor upgrade; Sonnet Tempo ATA133 card; USB (v.1.1.2) card w/2 HDs--running both the native 4 gb scsi and a Seagate ATA/128 gb drives. It's all connected to a ViewSonic VX-710 15 inch LCD monitor. It is not internet connected. Of concern, a recent problem has arisen with the monitor connection. I've developed a thin white line that vertically extends down the face of the monitor adjacent the mouse scrolling marker. The line "moves" with the mouse scroll (a constant 1/2 inch relationship). Changing the monitor DPI setting to (1024X768--74.9mghz) will shorten the vertical length of the line to half the distance down the page. I'm using the analog connection with the monitor. Everything worked fine until very recently--the evolution of the line erratically developing over a few short days. The monitor, functions perfectly when hooked up as a second to my I-Mac, so I've ruled the monitor out as being faulty. Any ideas out there? VRAM memory issues? Would an ATA Rage 1280 video card installation help? I've grown rather fond of this useful, adaptive, tough little machine and it's reliability over the years. I use the computer as a dedicated platform for storage and management of years of my old OS 9.1 files and OS specific programs. I'm open to any and all suggestions.
    Thanks,TMc

    The long and winding road...
    Voila!...it's working again. First of all, I want to thank everyone for their time and input--I tried it all. The final equation to the problem; stock VRAM.
    Frustrated to no end, I wandered through the door of "Mc2", a local Mac shop (20+ years) in the nearby northern Monterey coastal burg of Soquel, CA. The shop always keeps a few older Mac's of various releases in the back for bits & pieces salvaging along with a couple of grey-hair techies who've been through it all.
    The first thing asked was whether the "line" I was experiencing on the desktop had been accompanied by gradual pixel degradation over a a number of startups--it had! He responded by stating on the 85/86/9600 series motherboards VRAM serve as a through-put point, regardless of the Video card installed. He suggested "A faulty chip, especially with newer LCD monitors, will often manifest itself with a vertical line down the monitor." Additionally, he suggested this problem can also be confused as an indicator of a faulty LCD screen, BUT if the line moves with the mouse scroll or can be changed by pixel resolution/screen refresh rates, it suggests faulty VRAM--memory that should to be left in these machines for video stability. He suggested they should not be mixed and matched and need to be replaced in matching pairs.
    A quick online over-night order to my trusty memory source "4AllMemory" (an excellent and reliable source for on-the-cheap new goodies for PCI macs), and Voila! With a little testing as to which chip(s) required replacement, I restarted and everything returned to normal. Relief, finally!

  • Help with DYNEX Model: DX-55L150A11 - 55" 120Hz LCD Television

    Is there a Software Update available for this television??  I have trouble when I switch channels on the Cable box (TWC set top box).  The sound disappears and the only way I can get it back is to cycle through the HDMI ports on the Dynex remote or turn off/on the Dynex remote.  Seems like the Dynex TV loses sync for the AUDIO and it only "RESYNCS" when the HDMI ports are cycled.  I cycle through the HDMI ports, because that is the method of connection between the Cable Set-top box and the TV.
    Also, the 120 Hz operation is blurry during a football game.  I need to shut off the 120 Hz processing and watch the raw video and it is not blurry.  WHY???
    Overall, the TV is operating okay, just wondering if a Software Update would help this TV????

    There is currently no software update available for your TV. However, your sound problem is caused by a communication issue between your cable box & TV via the HDMI cable. An easy test is to plug in another source (like a DVD or game consol) to the same HDMI input, with the same cable, problem goes away, it's the cable box / provider issue. The TV does not know what is plugged in, it's just processing the information it receives. TWC boxes (likely Scientific American or Motorola built) have many problems with HDMI communication. The quickest, easiest, cheapest solution as suggested by cmartin is to switch to component cables. Your TV can process full resolution HD through the component inputs eliminating the troublesome HDMI communication line. Cmartin's other issue sounds like an overloaded cable system and his provider should be running additional lines if useage is overwhelming the bandwidth. HDMI has been troublesome since it's creation and with more products coming out of different countries with no communication standard, everything is 'talking a different language' and compounding the problem.
    Regarding your 120hz question, using this function without a true 120hz (frames per second) input signal (currently only used by 3D primarily, and a few select BluRay and video games), the TV's processor takes available incoming frames and averages them together to create additional 'false frames' which are added in between (frame 1-2-3 becomes 1-1.5-2-2.5-3-3.5, etc.) often causing a choppy or blurring effect with normal video conditions. It's purpose and only real current benefit is under very fast moving video conditions when the gap between frames may be more evident.

  • Wireless LCD connection?

    Does anyone know of a way to connect a mac (or PC) to an existing LCD projector wirelessly? Is there some sort of dongle that can be plugged into an LCD projector that can wirelessly pick up signals from a mac or PC? I have to set up a room for a lecturer and they want two LCDs displaying the powerpoints (or Keynotes) and I would rather not run a long extension cable between them. If I can avoid this, it would be better. Any ideas?

    Hi cambridgeuser,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
    In order to get the video from your MacBook Air to your TV, you'll need to run some sort of cable between the two devices. What version of the MacBook Air do you have? The first generation (that came with adapters) or the second generation (that has adapters which are sold separately)?
    Next, we'll want to confirm what input ports are on your TV. Does it DVI? HDMI? Component? This will be indicative of what sort of cable/adapter you get.
    Let us all know about that information so the appropriate information can be given.

  • External LCD connected via mini DP- Dsub keeps switching off in XP

    I have a Benq E2200HDA screen connected to Macbook via the adapter. Under OSX everything is fine, but when working with XP the screen turns off for a few seconds every 10 minutes or so. The display doesn't turn off, it looks more like the computer is feeding it a blank input. I installed the newest nvidia drivers but it didn't do anything.
    Has anybody encountered this problem and know how to solve that?

    Nobody had this problem?

  • Lcd crack causing motherboard issue?

    In recent post I stated I cracked my lcd, then my connectors would not connect. Verified my lcd part number and had the ribbon cable replaced...
    New Lcd did not work. ..
    Now, I'm being told the motherboard may be the issue.
    Question 1) Return screen pay shipping and 10% restock and get another screen in case it was defective?
    Q 2) Buy something other than Pavillion which I'm told motherboard overheats?
    What would you do? I'm a Cyber Security/Forensics student and need this issue fixed asap, just hitting dead-ends and the bottom of my bank acct.

    Is the DC socket separate from the motherboard?
    If it is, it may be defective.

  • W510 Hardware LCD Screen Red-Colored Issue

    It seems that after a rough transport of my W510, the screen is now malfunctioning with a grainy/noisy static-filled image that's tinted red all over. I am hoping this is a cable issue, similar to when you jostle loose your computer VGA/DVI cable and discoloration occurs.
    Here's what it looks like:
    Image 1
    Image 2
    What steps should I take now? My warranty is expired.

    Seems like a good guess, and some reports online also indicate that it could be a solder joint loose on the motherboard. But I need some test to diagnose this as the LCD display or the Mobo. What do you think? Okay, and I already reconnected the connections from the cables to the motherboard, but what about the cables leading to the LCD itself? I didn't take it apart that far. Are there more connections within that top half of the laptop that could possibly be causing this?

  • My new IPad 3 cannot connect to WIFI even it has a full bar of the reception. In the same location, my PC and my smart phone get a full bar connection without any issues.  How can I do to fix the issues (can I switch to IPad 2)?

    My new Ipad 3 cannot connect to WIFI even it has a full bar of reception. In the same location, my Windows 7 PC and Andorid Smart phone can connect to the same WIFI without any issues.  How can I fix it?  Without WIFI, the WIFI only IPAD is nearly useless. If it cannot be fixed, can I get a replacement for IPad 2?

    Take it to an Apple Store for evaluation. If defective, you'll get a replacement.

    Additional things to try.
    Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
