Library Build Path + Interfaces
New interfaces created within a Flex Library project (using Flex Builder 3 or Flash Builder 4) are not automatically added to the project build path in the same way classes are. Is that a design feature (expected behaviour) or is it a bug? It seems a bit strange, to me at least, that interfaces need to be added to the build path manually.
You're right, this is a bug. I have logged it here: http://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FB-20407
Thanks for mentioning it.

Including Library in Build Path
I am using Eclipse 3.x,
How do I add External Libraries in my Project
Ans: Add all the external Jars in the build path (from project properites)
What if its a huge hirarchy ?
Ans shoud be: make a userlibrary and link that library to the folder which contains all jar files (hirarch of folders), and then include that userlibrary to your project.
Problem; If I create userlibrary, I have to select the jar files .. not the higetst level folder, which contains all the jar files ... This is what I dont want. I want to just select a folder.. and that all, and then use this folder as the build path .. "HOW do I do this ""??
-In eclpise, Drop all jar files under the lib folder of your project (including folders and subfolders).
Right click on the project icon, go to <properties><java build path><libraries>
Navigate to one of the sub folders. click on the top jar file, hold down the <shift> key and then click on the bottom jar file. All jar files between are selected. Add them to the project. Since this is a one-time-only effort, I wouldn't spend too much time trying to find a better short cut. You can pretty quickly go though each subfolder and get what you need.
If you insist on your way, perhaps you need to repackage all the folders and subfolders with thier jar file in an all enclosing jar file with a manifest. I dont know how to do this.
An alternative is to read up on Maven (the more modern way of automatically adding jar files and thier correct versions to a project). However, it will probably take you a long time to come up to speed on it. -
Xcode4.1 build path (Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData)
Hello, after installing Lion and upgrading to Xcode4.1: opened the project from 10.6.7 (Xcode3.2.2) , made some adjustments, builds ok, but:
build path is always: Users/user1/Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData/... How I can change to my output location which is in other place (project relative)
Thanks.I have various data relative to the application, which need to be read/write during run, and this data is relative to the App. location.

Adapter module:: JAR file in the build path of EJB project
Hi Experts,
I have created one adapter module, for this I have created one EJB project and also associated one EAR project to that.
I have completed my coding and changes in the xml files.
I have followed this -
http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index;jsessionid=(J2EE3417500)ID1494558950DB01504425675464955468End?rid=/library/uuid/c0b39e65-981e-2b10-1c9c-fc3f8e6747fa&overridelayout=true
while creating the module.
but after finishing this , I can not see the ejb.jar file corresponding to the ejb project, I can see the class file generated in the build path.
but I can not see the ejb.jar in the EJB project after build.
When I checked the EAR project I found under Deployment descriptor there is a folder called module and there is a jar file named as -
EJB<my ejb project name>.jar
when I am about to deploy this EAR in the server it is showing me to choose the file from EAR project and this EAR project contain the EJB Project .
Request you to please let me know is everything ok with my project ? or please let me know how can I see the ejb.jar file corresponding to the ejb project below the build path.
Thanks

Hi,
I'm working on an application which uses old Flex 3.4 (used for Adobe LiveCycle). This SDK already contains fiber.swc and playerfds.swc so I removed them from Flex Build Path. But if I reopen the project, the removed lines are there again.
So whats wrong? Bug? This is a serious issue for me since some classes from newer fiber.swc is not backwards compatible to version 3.4.
I'm using Flash Builder Premium 4.7. It would be great if I could solve that because I have to remove these paths everytime I open the project.
cu FlohFew things I've discovered that might be able to help you.
Make sure you download both the newest version of the playerglobal.swc (for flash player 10.1), and replace it either in your SDK files, or have it in a library (in Flex 3 you need to disable the older playerglobal, I'm not sure about FB 4)
Use the newest OSMF.swc available from the OSMF downloads page.
Make sure you have the compile settings for OSMF set up in your compile line (mangle for FB4 if needed):-define CONFIG::LOGGING false -define CONFIG::DEBUG false -define CONFIG::FLASH_10_1 true
I've been able to compile flex projects using OSMF doing these steps.
Hope this helps.

I created a new Java project in Eclipse from an existing folder. I am getting errors like -
Unbound classpath variable: 'JRE_LIB_CORE' in project 'RFT'
Unbound classpath variable: 'JRE_LIB_GRAPHICS' in project 'RFT'
Unbound classpath variable: 'JRE_LIB_SERVER' in project 'RFT'
Unbound classpath variable: 'RATIONAL_FT_LIB' in project 'RFT' (I am using Rational Functional Tester API)
I tried removing these entries from Project Properties -> Java Build Path -> Libraries, and as a replacement, added JRE System Library. When I save these settings, the errors do not go away. And when I check project properties again, all my changes have been reverted back - the variables I had removed are back.
Can someone help?
ThanksBest I can suggest is that that is entirely an eclispe problem.
So at a minimum it should be phrased that way (subject) and an eclipse forum would be the best place to ask. -
Eclipse build path entry is missing
Hello, I have just installed Eclipse 3.3 on Ubuntu. When I click on File...New...Java Project, and name my project, the project appears on the left with a small red box indicating an error. The two errors indicated are:
"The project cannot be built until build path errors are resolved"
"Unbound classpath container: "Default System Library in project "Test""
When I right click on the project and on properties, there is another error:
"Build path entry is missing: org.eclipse.jdt.launching.JRE_CONTAINER"
I tried to click on "Properties..."add library", and add the JRE system library, but when I click next the window does not move to the next screen. Anyone know how I can create a new project without these errors. Thanks.Do you have any JRE libraries configured? I think Eclipse detects one by default.
You could try posting this on a Eclipse forum where you are likely to get a better response sooner. -
I was using a source folder before and was outputting to a
different folder.
I recently altered those settings to comply with some project
regulations, now... the settings in Flex Build Path won't save.
For example, I was relating to a Flex Library Project, now I
don't, so I removed it but every time my project reloads, it shows
the old setting under Flex Build Path.
The same goes for the Output Folder and Output URL.
Output Folder resets to bin
Output URL resets to previews settings
I've rechecked spellings and other mistakes, no problem
there.you could manualy open following files : .project
.actionScriptProperties
.flexProperties and make your changes there.
also make sure to update run and debug configurations with
new settings. -
Wipes out classes and jars in Java Build Path
Hello!
All the jar and class files under Library tab gets cleared when I repair my DC project. But when I repair normal projects it does not wipe out the jars or classes in the Library. Can someone please help me?
Thanks
RajHi Raj,
The Java build path of a DC-project is based on the definitions in de DC-dependecies (shown in .dcdef file).
Everytime you repair or build the DC the build path will be updated into the .project file based on the .dcdef file.
See the online documentaion for how to add libraries to the DC dependecies.
Hope this helps.

Instant client AIX library search paths
If you use the AIX "dump -H" command against the various Instant Client libraries, you'll notice that some non-existant paths (from the original build) are included.
For example:
$ dump -H libclntsh.a
shows a library search path of:
/b/114/lib:/usr/lib:/lib
This can create security problems, particulary with set-uid programs which link against such libraries.
When you next build your AIX libraries, you may wish to use the "-bnolibpath" or perhaps an explicit "-blibpath" directive with the loader.
Just a thought. Thanks for providing the Instant Client.Thanks for the report.

How do I add a jar file into the build path of the compiler?
Hey,
I'm trying to import a jar file into the build path of the compilation process, but it does not find the packages or the classes that are in it.
I think I don't add it right...
ArrayList<String> options=new ArrayList<String>();
options.add("-d");
options.add(targetDirectory);
options.add("-classpath");
for(String str:includeDirectory)
options.add(str);
if (!compiler.getTask(writer, fileManager, diagnostics, options, classes, compilationUnits).call());
....and I've tried this way:
public void setTargetDirectory(String targetDirectory) {
this.targetDirectory = "-d " + targetDirectory;
private void compile(Iterable<? extends JavaFileObject> compilationUnits) throws Exception {
ArrayList<String> options = new ArrayList<String>();
options.add(targetDirectory);
String classPath="-cp ";// tried this also with "-classpath"
for (String str : includeDirectory)
classPath+=str+":";
options.add(classPath);
if (!compiler.getTask(writer, fileManager, diagnostics, options, classes, compilationUnits).call())
// throw new Exception("Compilation Error");
}Thanks in advance,
Adam.

Edited by: Adam-Z. on Feb 24, 2010 5:42 AMThank you for your reply,
Q: Are there .class files in that directory in that jar file? (the compiler doesn't ( can't )) look for directories, it can just look for specific files , and scan to get a list of all files matching certain criteria. So if there are no class files, it will say the package doesn't exist, even if there is a directory, possibly containing other files.yes there are class files in the jar, the tree structure:
j2MeDataChunkGenerator_Plugin\(lots of class files)
META-INF\manifest.mf
and thats it.
, your code will only work on windows because other platforms use a different path separator. You should use java.io.File.pathSeparator not explicit ';" when building your classpath. (this is unrelated to your problem, but you should correct it)will do, thanks.
Q: Is that error in your post formatted by your own diagnostics? (we could possibly help you better if we didn't have to guess!!)I would not post my own error code, this text is generated by the compiler diagnostic.
{code}
System.err.println(" Error details: " + diagnostic.getMessage(null));
{code}
Q: Is line 3 of ImageCroper_Editor.java (sic) an import statement? (we could possibly help you better if we didn't have to guess!!)it is an import error... didn't the error message stated that it is an import problem? wired, I'm sure before it did. anyway it is an import error.
Also you don't show us what the variable includeDirectory is in terms of type, and contents, that might be helpful. (we could possibly help you better if we didn't have to guess!!)It has only one String object: "D:\%Important Documents\WorkSpaces\PacMan\ApplicationManager\Plug-in\Data Chunk Designer.jar"
the last file on the classpath list.
Q: Have you proven this? that i did post, in this long line of text.
Q: Is the compiler finding other classes (in other packages) in that same jar file?No. all the class files are in the jar, they all have entries that start with "j2MeDataChunkGenerator_Plugin\*.class", and since I get 47 errors I guess it does not load any other class.
thank you for you comments, the problem with having these errors, is that I can't even get a piece of information where this error is coming from, only that it is an import loading error package not found, what does that mean? that the jar was not loaded in compilation(no error about this), that the jar is corrupted(no error about this), that the path is incorrect(it is correct I made sure), that there is no such package in the jar(There is), that the compiler does not load the package(does it even do that?), really I can't even guess why this happens, I've been at this on and of all day today, really annoying.
Thanks,
Adam. -

Hi,
I am facing issue with Flash Builder 4.7.
Whenever I am trying to open any mxml or .as file after project setup, flash Builder 4.7 becomes unresponsive without showing any error message or popup.
At the initial project setup, I am able to open file but when I try adding 5-6 source folder under Flex build path->source path, it’s become unresponsive.
Everything works fine in Flash builder 4.6, but I have license key only for flash builder 4.7 and want to use Flash Builder 4.7.
Please help me to solve this issue.Fixed: In Project prefs: Flex Build path: added the similar swc folder called "local" from FB 4.6 eclipse/plugins directory and removed the 4.7 one.
For some reason the 4.7 eclipse/plugins/com.adobe.flexbuilder.project_4.7.0.345990/dcradS wcs/4.5/locale folder has localisation folders in it and not swc's like in FB 4.6.. -
Cant specify the Java Build Path in the Web Module Project
hi,
I have a problem while specify the project dependencies in the Web Module Project.While opening the properties of the web module project i cant choose the Java Build Path.The only two options i have are design root path and web service consistency check builder.Does anybody know why its like that?do i hav to reinstall the SAP developer studio?
With regards,
Jaisamma VargheseHi Jaisamma,
I just tested this, and for me it works as expected, within all explorer/navigator views.
Before reinstalling NWDS, check if the project itself may have some problem. Just create a new clean web module project and right-click on the project and try to access the BuildPath properties now. If it works, try to set up your project content again within this new project. Otherwise reinstalling NWDS may help.
Hope it helps
Detlev
