Lightbox problem
Hi
Im using a lightbox on a site.
And it launches in a new window everytime! really annoying. i
didnt know where to post this problem.
I have checked all the links in the javascript and css and
they all work.
any ideas?
I don't think you will be able to use lightbox successfully
on an area tag.

Hi, I have created a website featuring a lightbox on several pages. This works fine when I preview them, but isn't working on the live website - can anyone help?
here's the link to a temporary page: http://www.vdubbers.co.uk/hoodies.html
Thanks.Again, case may be an issue. Some servers will put all folders to lower case, which is why it is a good idea not to use upper case in your local root folder names so they don't throw things off when they are put to a server which may change them.
I get this error when trying to access the large image:
The requested URL /Images/LBoxLarge/HUD1B.jpg was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
That comes from either a missing file (which you have confirmed is NOT the case) or a bad file name/path name (folder or file name has been
modified on putting it to the server) -
LightBox problem - Close image too big
Is anyone here familiar with LightBox image show, please?
They have a image show, without the usual Windows icons and blue
frame. Have tried all sorts, but can't get it working. As there is
no documentation with the software, am rather lost...TC2112:
I have already done as you suggested above, before I posted
the code, which got cut-off at right margin, hence you did not see
the complete line. So here is a re-post ot it. But it still does
not work. The proper image image shows in a new blank window, at
0,0
Any suggestions, please?

Hello,
I am a student curator for Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS). Currently we are working on a website that encorporates lightbox; unfortunately we have run into issues beyond myself. The lightbox works perfectly in dreamweaver live, yet when published on the fcps server the photos instead of loading on the page is brought towards the bottom of the page. I would appreciate the help.
Here is the published site http://www.fcps.edu/CentrevilleHS/kings_glen_elementary_school/

Lightbox gallery not working right...
I inserted a lightbox gallery from the adobe exchange website. For some reason when you click on the thumbnail it doesn't open as it should. Can anyone see what the problem is?
What it should look like: http://www.tecnorama.org/demos/lightbox.html
What mine looks like: http://www.hopelightworship.com/photos.html
Thanks...I see that you fixed your lightbox problem
How did you fix it? -
Lightbox gallery extension - upload problems!
Hi,
I've made a small test site in Dreamweaver CS5 with a photo gallery in a Lightbox extension ( that I've added from Dreamweaver extensions ). Everything looks and works the way I want it to in Dreamweaver Safari preview...but as soon as I upload my test site, the Lightbox Gallery doesn't work anymore. I asked my webhotel support for help, but they say that I should contact the developer for an answer ???
I'm thinking that it must a very common problem, does anyone have a clue what the problem could be?
( My webhotel is an advanced LINUX server ...as if I knew what that means ;-)
Thanks and Merry Christmas !You have:
<a href="nyhavn.jpg" title="Nyhavn, heritage harbour and a popular
place to go for dinner or a drink.">
<img src="nyhavn_s.jpg" width="72" height="73" alt="" /> </a>
Are you not supposed to have rel="lightbox" added to it? Such as
<a href="nyhavn.jpg" title="Nyhavn, heritage harbour and a popular
place to go for dinner or a drink.">
<img src="nyhavn_s.jpg" rel="lightbox" width="72" height="73" alt="" /> </a>
On closer inspection, if you look at your "scripts/lightbox.js"
It is not a js file at all, it is an html file....what happened to your original js file?

Problem with Alt Text output from thumbnail image of Lightbox widget
I’m having a problem with the Lightbox widget not producing alternative text based on the image properties. I’ve set ALT text for the image properties on both the larger Ligtbox image as well as the thumbnail. But the HTML output from Muse does not include the ALT text on the thumbnail version of the image. Here’s an example:
<div class="popup_anchor">
<div class="Thumb popup_element clearfix" id="u4409"><!-- group -->
<a class="anchor_item grpelem" id="untitled"></a>
<div class="grpelem" id="u4433"><!-- image -->
<img id="u4433_img" src="/images/n0060292x292.jpg" alt="" width="292" height="292" />
This may be a problem that came in a previous release of Muse. I have a few older examples where ALT text is produced, but it’s no longer updated if I update the Image Properties.I'm seeing the same problem. Looks like a bug to me. Any ideas as to how we can get this on Adobe's bug fix list?

Dreamweaver CS4 Lightbox Gallery Problem
Hello Everyone,
I am using Dreamweaver CS4 on a Mac and I am a beginner at producing my website, just so you know. I am using lightbox gallery for my photo gallery on my website and everything works fine except that when you click on the picture to start the gallery there is a question mark that pops up where there should be instead the enlarged picture. When I preview it using Safari the enlarged photo pops up with no problem, the question mark pops up only when I upload the website online. I have been trouble shooting to the best of my ability, but to no avail. Please someone, show me what I am doing wrong.
Here is the coding:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

// EndWebWidget lightbox_gallery

And the website URL is: http://majesticmonumentvalley.com/photogallery.html
Please note that I have not customized my own photos in the gallery because they only end up with the question mark so I wanted to fix this problem before I started putting my own photos on the website.
Thank you for your time.
-JessicaHello,
Thank you for your response. I put my own photos into the gallery and made sure they were located in the images folder. I previewed it in Safari and all was well. But, yet again, when I uploaded it online it does the same thing- a question mark appears instead of the enlarged image. The thumbnail images are fine, it is just the enlarged images giving me grief. What am I doing wrong?

Problems using lightbox gallery widget
Hi, I am just learning Dreamweaver and thought I would try out a widget. I tried the lightbox gallery widget, and it mostly works, except that I get a box with a question mark on the right, under the photo when it is enlarged. It can't find some of the included widget image icon files. Anybody know why? It does it in live view and firefox and safari.
I looked at the code and from what I can tell, the code references images which appear to be in the correct directory /images/lightbox/blahblah.gif.
For example, the widget is supposed to say 'close' under the image, and that text is a .gif image apparently.
Anyone have this trouble or know what the problem could be?
Thanks
BobI found a fix for something similar that occurred on my machine. I too was seeing no problems locally but when I posted it to my site, it just had the placeholder and no images....
Apparently, dreamweaver is smarter than the browser... (maybe incorrect statement) however..... the file extensions are case sensitive!
I had this-------- <A href="Img/CGM_1.JPG" border="0" rel="lightbox[Img/CGM_1thumb.JPG]" title="CGM Pic Set"><img src="Img/CGM_1thumb.JPG" /></a>

<a href="Img/CGM_3.jpg" rel="lightbox[Img/CGM_1thumb.JPG]"></a>
<a href="Img/CGM_4.jpg" rel="lightbox[Img/CGM_1thumb.JPG]"></a>
Well, I didnt think anything was so bad, all of the colors were right I wasn't getting any warnings.... wtf?
As it turns out, and this is only because I just started a new image set after testing an individual - - baby steps - - if you use the properties bar at the bottom of DW, it applies a different case for specific parts...... i.e. this is what it produced
<A HREF="Img/CGM_1.jpg" border="0" rel="lightbox[Img/CGM_1thumb.jpg]" title="CGM Pic Set"><img src="Img/CGM_1thumb.jpg" /></a>
<a HREF="Img/CGM_2.jpg" rel="lightbox[Img/CGM_1thumb.jpg]"></a>
<a HREF="Img/CGM_3.jpg" rel="lightbox[Img/CGM_1thumb.jpg]"></a>
<a HREF="Img/CGM_4.jpg" rel="lightbox[Img/CGM_1thumb.jpg]"></a>
Notice the HREF's are now UPPER case and the jpg's are now lower case. !!!! really?!?!?
Also, another thing to look out for is the folder/ in front of your thumbnail; make sure it is there. In my case I use my sam "Img" folder, not the "images" folder that lightbox creates.
Hope this helps, I beat my head against the wall for a total of 10 hours over 2 days trying to figure this out. I couldn't find anything on the internet. I'm going to post this so others having this issue get it resolved. I found those, just no resolution. -
Problems adding YouTube videos to a Clearbox 2.0 Lightbox
Hi -
I'm still fairly new to web design and Dreamweaver CS6. I am trying to put some YouTube videos into a Clearbox 2.0 Lightbox -- seems like a very elegant and effective way to display the videos. I have used the Clearbox 2.0 Lightbox successfully with still images/jpg files. When I try to use it to link to a YouTube video, however, I get a blank white box when I test it online. I know that it is possible to display YouTube videos in Clearbox: the example file includes a YouTube video, and it plays when tested. Here is the code that is included in the example file:
<div class="item"><a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/OtQN-iDfprU" rel="clearbox[gallery=Gallery,,width=700,,height=490,,title=A clearbox 3 preview movie on YouTube,,comment=I uploaded some movies to YouTube from clearbox 3...]"><img src="example/no_youtube.gif" alt="youtube movie" /></a></div>
My assumption was that I could simply change the http:// link and my desired video would replace the one in the example, but this is not the case. I change the code to what is pasted below and I get a blank white box.
<div class="item"><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kc8SIQGxnXk" rel="clearbox[gallery=Gallery,,width=700,,height=490,,title=A clearbox 3 preview movie on YouTube,,comment=I uploaded some movies to YouTube from clearbox 3...]"><img src="example/no_youtube.gif" alt="youtube movie" /></a></div>
I have tried creating a sample file in Dreamweaver that has nothing in it except the Clearbox widget and these two videos. The one with the pre-written YouTube link works, the other doesn't. What am I doing wrong? Or better, how do I do it right? Very grateful for any help that can be offered!
- RobThank you for the response, Sudarshan. I did not have the page online, and in the process of trying to put something together to upload for you, I figured it out. For the benefit of others who may run into the same problem, here was the solution.
In the code above, I was removing the sample YouTube http:// link and replacing it with the YouTube http:// link that I wanted. However, there was one more step that I needed to do. In that link, after http://www.youtube.com/ you need to replace watch?v= with v/ . Once I did that, everything worked like a charm! -
Problems with lightbox and jquery
Hi guys,
Thanks for checking out my post...
I am using lightboxes for a gallery which work fine. However I'm also using a jQuery to drag in Tweets from Twitter.
I thought it was all working fine but the Twitter box doesn't seem to be updating.
After looking into the problem I added the below to my HTML header...
<script>jQuery.noConflict();</script>
...and then changed the $ in lightbox.js to jQuery but to no avail - the lightboxes just stopped working.
Can someone please take a look and see what I need to do to get the scripts running please?
Here the link
Thank you and hope to hear from you!
SM404 Error, File not found.
There have to be at least 100 lightbox clones available now. Some of the older ones use jQuery 1.2.
As of this writing, the most recent script from Google APi is jQuery 1.5.0 which may or may not work on older plug-ins. It's always a hit and miss thing with this stuff.

Hi there.
My question concerns http://www.energywa.co.za
You can click on any of the 2 images on the right.
When clickin in FF and Google Chrome, the lightbox works 100%. But, when trying it in IE 8, the image opens on the same page. When clicking anywhere else on the page, the effect of the lightbox shows, but no image.
Can you please check and advise what I am doing wrong?
Regards,
DeonAt the top of the forum page it reads:
Before you post a topic please verify that:
You are using the latest Spry files
The latest version of the Adobe Spry Framework is 1.6.1, this is the same version that ships with Dreamweaver CS4. If you use Dreamweaver CS3 (uses Spry 1.4), its wise to upgrade your files to the latest version. This can easily be done using the Spry Updater that can be found here.
Incidently, there is no problem with IE8 and Microsoft is in the process to urge IE6 users to upgrade.
