Lightroom 5 64-bit stops with 0xc0000005

Lightroom 5 64-bit just stops.  Window 7.0 puts up a window that says " Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 64-bit has stopped working.  A problem caused the program to stop working windows will close the program ..."  When I looked at the Windows event log I see the following:
Faulting application name: Lightroom.exe, version: 5.0.0.10, time stamp: 0x51a64dae
Faulting module name: mfc100u.dll, version: 10.0.40219.325, time stamp: 0x4df2cfdb

This has happened to me several times.  I see at the time the memory is only 43% used(apx 8G)  The Lightroom program has a working set size of 3.1 G.
I have seen it happening during Exporting, but today I had left lightroom doing nothing(sic) and when I returned, I saw the old Lightroom has stopped working.
Windows is current in all its service.
What is happening to cause Lightroom to stop?

Was this ever solved? I'm experiencing the same issue. Here is my event viewer log:

  • 64 bit Lightroom 2.5 work well with 32 bit Photoshop CS4?

Anyone know if 64 bit Lightroom 2.5 works well with 32 bit Photoshop CS4?  Any problems or conflicts?  Or should I stick to 32 bit Lightroom 2.5?

It works fine, but the default will be to use the 64bit version of CS4 (which is also installed along with the 32bit version).
If you want to use the 32bit version of CS4 the easiest way is to open the 32bit CS4 before sending files from LR. I only have a few plugins that don't have 64bit versions, so I mostly use the 64 bit version of CS4, but occasionally I do use the 32bit version and that's how I do it.

  • Lightroom 3 Lightroom 64 bit stopped working

I am using Lightroom 3 on Windows 7 platform.
I got the lightroom 64-bit stopped working message.
I went to the forums etc and got the following advice
    Delete preference file: I did
    delete catalog file: I did
    delete .lock files
I uninstalled and reinstalled and got  Lightroom 64-bit stopped working message.
Is there a fix to this?

Very likely there is a way to fix this, but since we don't know the root cause yet, it's just experimentation time. Here is a list of the steps mentioned as well as many others: Troubleshoot system errors, freezes | Windows | Adobe software

  • Install Captivate 4 on Windows 7 64-bit machine with Windows XP mode?

    Hi,
I have been searching the web to find out the best way/place in which to load Captivate 4 on my Windows 7 64-bit machine. Seems some people have issues with recording, others don't. I have Windows XP mode on my machine.
My question is... what's the best way to load Captivate 4 on Windows 7 - should I install to Windows 7 and see how it goes. Or should I install under Windows XP mode?
    Thank you!
    Michele

Yea it works in XP mode

Try running Cp4 in WinXp compatibility mode on Win7.  Also make sure
you're set to Run as Administrator.
I run Cp4 on Win7 without issues.  But other users report similar problems
to yourself.  In the end, it may or may not work for you because Adobe has
never claimed Cp4 was compatible with Vista or Win7 64bit.

  • Book Module: Export to PDF and Blurb stops with error at two page spread

I have a 66 page book created in the book module..
When exporting to PDF the export stops with the error:
"An error occurred while saving the book.
There was an error creating the PDF file. "
The same occurs (at the same book page) when exporting to BLURB
"An error occurred while creating the book."
The creation or export always stops at the same page which is a two page spread. Interestingly there is a two-page spread before that didn't throw an error. I tried to move the problem page to the end of the book. That didn't help because the next two page spread in the book throws an error.
    Any ideas or help?
    Lightroom version: 4.0
Computer: Windows 7, Quadcore, 8 GB RAM

Hi, sorry I do not have a solution but I too have a very similar issue in that the book is the same size but the export to PDF does not start at all
I have tried reducing the image dpi settings. Jpg quality and still nothing
The only success I have had is if I duplicate the book, delete all but 8 pages and then export at full dpi settings of 300 and 100 percent jpg quality
    Any more pages and nothing
It's a great tool and would buy it if this feature actually worked. Oh yeah I only have the trial version at the minute to give it a good thorough test
I have looked for solutions but like your query they are all unanswered
Does adobe actually offer any support or is this all user solutions?
Did you find a solution by the way?

  • How do I put Lightroom.4.2 in "Open With"?

How do I enter Lightroom 4.2 in "Openwith"?

    ~cynthiak~ wrote:
Since upgrading to 4.2, Lightroom is not on the list and when I click on Other Programs and browse the lightroom.exe, nothing happens. I'm still at the Open With window.
When you click on Other Programs, do you see Lightroom in the list?
Or do you have to click Browse and point out the location of lightroom.exe?
If the latter, is Lightroom then added to other Programs, or is it still missing?
The problem can be that Lightroom is not correctly registered by Windows. I don't know the specifics, but apparently you can't add a program to Open With in Windows 7 if it doesn't have a certain key in the Windows Registry. In older versions of Windows, you just needed an .exe. No registry keys were required.
In one of the Lightroom 3.x versions I was also hit by this and had to add the key manually to the Windows registry.
To check if the key is missing, try this:
    Run regedit.exe
    Go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications\
There should be a key called lightroom.exe
This key has the subkeys shell -> open -> command
Under command there should be one entry like this (your path may be different):
    (default)  REG_SZ "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4.2\lightroom.exe" "%1"
If this key is missing, you will probably not be able to add Lightroom to Open With.
I actually wonder if Adobe has stopped creating this key for Lightroom 4. When I checked my registry to find the exact key, it still pointed to Lightroom 3.6, even though I have had almost all Lightroom 4 versions installed. And when I tried an Open With, it started Lightroom 3. As soon as I changed the path so it pointed to Lightroom 4.3 RC, Open With started Lightroom 4.

  • Istall Lightroom 5 32 bit (CC)

Hi! I've used the try-version of Lightroom 5 (I had problems with the 64 bit version so I needed to install the 32 bit). Now the 30 day trial went out and I got a CC-membership instead but I can't find any way to install the 32 bit version; the CC only want to install the 64 bit but I just got problems (http://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/error-unable-start-correctly-0xc00007b.html). I've tried the Solution 1 but it didn't work and I won't reinstall Windows. Somebody who knows how I can install the 32 bit version?

    Hi A_Esp,
    Welcome to the Community!
Please download Lightroom 5 from this link http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cc-direct-download-links.html and check if it has 32 bit version.
Please read/follow the Very Important Instructions section or else the download will not start.
    Thanks!

  • CS4 64-bit stopped working completely

I have a new computer with wondows 7 and when I installed CS4 it worked perfect in the beginning but after a few weeks PS CS4 64-bit stopped and I could only open the "normal" version.
If I try to open the 64-bit it says: "Adobe photoshop cs4 does not work anymore, looking for a solution" and after that I can only quit the program.
Does anybody know what the problem is and how I can fix this?
    thanks in advanced,
    marca

Sounds like something that was installed or configured is now in conflict with Photoshop CS4 64 bit.
Did you update anything (e.g., download new video drivers) at the time that Photoshop 64 bit stopped working?
How long has it been?  Can you consider doing a System Restore back to when it worked?  You might have some stuff to reinstall, but you could check after each to know what it is that's conflicting with Photoshop.
    Hope this helps.
    -Noel
P.S., Photoshop CS4 64 bit works just fine for me on my fully up-to-date Windows 7 x64 system, so keep heart; it can work.

  • Can I upgrade from Lightroom 3/32 bit to Lightroom 5/64 bit?

I'm considering the purchase of an ASUS Republic of Gamers laptop using a Windows 7/64 bit OS with 16 gig of ram.  So far my research tells me a 32 bit program running on a 64 bit OS will be limited to, I think it was the use of no more than 4 gig of ram.  Therefore there seems no sense in using my current version of lightroom (v 3.6) since I would not be able to take advantage of the greatly increased ram.  can I upgrade from Lightroom 3.6/32 bit to Lightroom 5/64 bit?

    Yes, you can.
Installation software for Lightroom for Windows normally comes with both a 32 bit and a 64 bit installer packet. This means you can also, without upgrading install the 3.6 64 Bit version.

During downloading the new version, it stops with a "waiting" status when Internet's cut happened. Since, impossible to restart or to download again. Help !

I have had a similar problem with my system. I just recently (within a week of this post) built a brand new desktop. I installed Windows 7 64-bit Home and had a clean install, no problems. Using IE downloaded an anti-virus program, and then, because it was the latest version, downloaded and installed Firefox 4.0. As I began to search the internet for other programs to install after about maybe 10-15 minutes my computer crashes. Blank screen (yet monitor was still receiving a signal from computer) and completely frozen (couldn't even change the caps and num lock on keyboard). I thought I perhaps forgot to reboot after an update so I did a manual reboot and it started up fine.
When ever I got on the internet (still using firefox) it would crash after anywhere between 5-15 minutes. Since I've had good experience with FF in the past I thought it must be either the drivers or a hardware problem. So in-between crashes I updated all the drivers. Still had the same problem. Took the computer to a friend who knows more about computers than I do, made sure all the drivers were updated, same problem. We thought that it might be a hardware problem (bad video card, chipset, overheating issues, etc.), but after my friend played around with my computer for a day he found that when he didn't start FF at all it worked fine, even after watching a movie, or going through a playlist on Youtube.
At the time of this posting I'm going to try to uninstall FF 4.0 and download and install FF 3.6.16 which is currently on my laptop and works like a dream. Hopefully that will do the trick, because I love using FF and would hate to have to switch to another browser. Hopefully Mozilla will work out the kinks with FF 4 so I can continue to use it.
I apologize for the lengthy post. Any feedback would be appreciated, but is not necessary. I will try and post back after I try FF 3.16.6.

I am a long-term user of Lightroom as a standalone product with a perpetual licence. As a retired person on limited income, it is very disappointing to me that Adobe have introduced the 'Creative Cloud' (CC) subscription service in order for me to be able to continue upgrading this excellent product. It will be for me too expensive at the minimum cost of £9 per month. The additional services that CC brings are personally of no relevance or usefulness. Adobe should be prepared to support existing users who are, like myself, non commercial, amateur photographers by giving them the simple opportunity to upgrade to Lightroom 6 as a standalone, perpetual licence product. As a member of a camera club I know my co-members who use Lightroom are equally disappointed by this move to a subscription-only service.

That is possible, John, but it is only speculation on your part. Might, not will.

Other differences - with CC you get LrMobile/LrWeb and they throw in a free copy of Photoshop too.
Yes, but when I bought my standalone license and clicked on the "Download" button it took me to the LightroomCC page. The downloaded file is named Lightroom 6, but in the CC app the installed program is LightroomCC (2015).
