Limit of free reader?

Hi
I have a pdf with several images inserted into it, these images were inserted as 300dpi when the pdf was made.  However, if I copy and paste the picture, it appears as 72dpi, is this a limit of the free reader or has somebody messed up with the saving of the pdf?
Thanks
Ed

Just ignore the resolution, which I suspect just isn't being filled in at all, and is defaulting. Count the pixels, divide by the inches at which you intend to place.
However, I should mention that it is unusual, and potentially problematic, if images are being provided to you in PDF form. You should negotiate this, but normally a bitmap format is used (TIFF is the recommended choice in prepress).

  • Free limit (overall limit vs free limit)

    Hello,
I would have a question regarding item category D (service) in Purchase Order.
For such items, a tab "Limits" is displayed, In this tab, there is a field "Overall limit" but also a nested tab called "Other limit" with a field "Limit" (corresponds to free limit in the help)
Help gives me this message :
Overall limit --> Maximum value that the total of all unplanned services (or the value of the material) covered by this document item may not exceed.
Free limit --> Maximum value which an unplanned service may not exceed.
I don't understand the difference between those 2 fields. When I use ML81N, I can not create an item whose the value exceed one of this field.
    Example given :
    Overall limit = 5000u20AC
    Free limit = 1000u20AC
In ML81N, if I create a SES with gross price = 1001u20AC, I get message No limit for unplanned services amounting to 2.501,00 exists
    Other example :
    Overall limit = 5000u20AC
    Free limit = 10000u20AC
In ML81N, if I create a SES with gross price = 5001u20AC, I get message No overall limit of          5.001,00 for unplanned services exists
So I am blocked as soon as 1 of the limit in reached.
Does anyone could explain the difference between those 2 fields?
    Thanks for your help,
    Patrick

Please refer to the Online documentation: Material Management -> External Services Management -> Procurement of Services: Processes -> Accelerated and Simplified Processes -> Use of Value Limits (for Unplanned Services) Inside this documentation, it is stated that there is a variety of limits (combinations) to be used:- - Overall limit only - Overall limit and limit on services covered by contract item(s) - Overall limit, limit on services covered by contract item(s), - and other limit - Overall limit and other limit - Overall limit on services from model specifications or standard service catalog - Expected value The expected value is used in the update of the PO item value and this is the value used in the release strategy. Here is the f1 help: Expected value - ESUH-COMMITMENT Value that the unplanned services (or the materials) covered by this item are not expected to exceed. Use If you are working with the release (approval) procedure for purchasing documents, this value serves as the basis for a release strategy applied to this document. If you tick 'No limit',you don't need to enter 'Overall limit',but must enter 'Expected value'.Because 'Expected value' will affect the release strategy. Please read the note 440601 connected to this. Concerning the variability of actual cost of a purchase order, expected value means that the unplanned services (or materials) covered by this item are not EXPECTED to exceed. It is not mandatory that it has the same value like total limit value. Expected value can exceed, it is used for comparison with total limit value in cost control. Expected value can also be combined with unlimited total limit in a purchasing document

  • Set default printer in free Reader app for Windows 8?

Is it possible to set a default printer for the free Reader app?  We're new to Windows 8.  We set our HP as the default printer in the windows control panel, and the setting works for our other programs like word and IE, but the Reader app forces us to choose the HP printer every time we try to print a doc.  We have to click the More options and choose the printer from the list.  OneNote and the MS Document writer come up first in the list, and we don't use either of these.

Photoshop CS4 uses an old (introduced in Win16?) printing API that limits the printer name length to 30 or 31 characters. With your printer name, that gets you halfway into "Series" and anything past that will be ignored.
The simple solution is to rename your printer to something shorter. Go into the control panel, printers and faxes, and right-click on the printer and choose "Rename" and rename the printer. That should resolve the problem.

  • Free Reader 9 and Professional 9

I was told that if you have Professional 9 Pro you do not need to have the reader on as well, I have uninstalled the reader on my machine.  College just got Pro and was working on a form, distributing form, everything was working fine.  I noticed that she also had reader on, told her what I was told... to uninstall the reader.
She did, but then when she wanted to distribute the new form, it would not let her, it was greyed out.
So she reinstalled the free reader and now can distribute the form?  What is with that?
Also now all the files she has in pdf are opening in Reader?   Solutions are most appreciated.  Thank YOU

Surely you have access to another machine that you can put Reader on !
You should be running the same enviornment when testing your form as your end users will. I assume most of them will only have Adobe Reader installed ? Therefore you should test on a machine that only has Reader installed. Otherwise you don't or won't know if your testing is "real world".

  • Free reader will not open documents. instead I am asked to renew my subscription, which I don't need right now.

How to direct free reader to open documents instead of being directed to a subscription renewal window

Is it by any chance running a copy of Acrobat Pro instead, for which the subscription has lapsed? If so, start Adobe Reader instead, or uninstall Acrobat Pro.

  • Clutter free reading mode. (hiding the tool bars etc.)

So I've been using this addon called Clearly from Evernote. It works great I'm happy with it.
But other thing is I want a fully clutter free reading mode.
Such as the one in Adobe Reader, ctrl+h and you're left alone with the text only. No toolbars, no menus nothing.
Is there anyway to do this in Firefox?
I checked out other reader mode addons but they're just like Clearly.

    Hi emrecnl,
you can just go into full screen mode. Here's an article for how that's done: [[How to make Firefox and websites go full screen]]. That will still show you at least the tab bar though. If you want to get rid of everything, there is an add-on for that: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/FF_Fullscreen/?src=search

  • Code for website to allow users to download free Reader

This is not the right forum, but I couldn't find one that applies, sorry.
I'm adding some PDF files to my website for download, and I need to find the code that I can add to my website that will allow users to download the free Reader if they don't already have it. Can someone point me to that, please?
    Thanks!

    Found it:
    http://www.adobe.com/misc/linking.html
(related question popped up over there   --->
    which had the link.)
I see that it's actually just the image, and there's no code... you just hyperlink the image yourself. Long time ago there used to be some HTML code that came along, and did the link for you as a reference or something.  I'm set now... thanks.

  • My free Adobe subscription is expired. I tried uninstalling the Reader and installing the new free Reader, but my system will not let me open a file and states I need to purchase the Adobe Reader. Any other way to view a PDF file?

My free Adobe Reader has expired. I tried uninstalling the Reader and installing the new Free Reader trial, but my system still will not open a PDF file and states I need to subscribe to Adobe. Any way around this?

    Thank you.

  • Downloading a free Reader without disrupting Acrobat Pro

I have Adobe Acrobat Pro which i LOVE and use daily.. However, one website i also use everyday requires Adobe Reader plug in to operate correctly. When i downloaded this free Reader a year ago or so, it completely took over and disabled by Acrobat Pro, requiring a long process over the phone to get rid of the Reader and re-install my Pro.. has anything changed so that i can download the free Reader plug-in without it touching my Acrobat Pro?

It is not a public site. One needs to be registered in a particular project to download their pdf, complete the required information and reupload it.. I did not mention that this only happens from my MAC.. i can operate the system just fine on a PC. however, teh PC is old and i use it for nothing else but to access this site.. i would rather be using my MAC.. i cannot tell you what they have done ... but this was the "workaround" they developed for MAC users..  i will try it again, will you be willing to give me your phone number to call in case the same thing happens this time i try to download Reader and it disrupts my Acrobat Pro??????

  • BI7.0(Stack 11)-3.X Analyzer- Is there any limit for Free Characteristic?

    Hi All,
<u>We are on BI 7.0 Stack 10.</u> . The same happens in Stack 11 too.
Problem : Looks like when a query with <b>101</b> or more free characteristic is executed in 3.X Bex Analyzer, <b>the swapping of the characteristic will bring different characteristics.</b> Even the Add drilldown also does the same.
NOTE: I just have a single key figure in columns and a single characteristic in row.
For Eg: If I swap country with city, then instead of city it might bring employee.
This does not happen if the free characteristic is = 100. if it is greater than 100 then it does a bad swapping or drilldown.
NOTE: I did not see this problem in the 3.X web runtime.
As per sap's help there is no limit for free charcteristic. Please see the link below.

Please let me know if anybody else came across this problem or any OSS note available on this.

  • Downloading Free Reader 10

In trying to download the free Reader 10, be it through my dongle or a direct internet line, I am getting "download timeout" between 40-60% of download. Does anyone have a suggestion? Is there such a thing as a free disk to download? Thanks.

  • Free Reader and Interactive Form

I am using the free Adobe reader to fill out an interactive form. When I finish, I need to save it as a non-interactive form.  Is this possible in Free Adobe reader?

My users who will be filling out the form are going to need something simple to use.  I was hoping that we could add PDF to the printer list and have them simply 'print to PDF'.    Is this possible in free Reader?

  • I want to uninstall creative cloud and keep the free reader. Not able and I'm in a loop.

Just reinstall the free Reader (I wasn't aware that it was a part of the suite) from here ---> Adobe Reader Install for all versions

  • Free Reader 9 hangs MOST of time

Almost every time I open Reader 9 it hangs. Actually called the paid tech support line and got sme Adobe tech support. The Tech and I tried everything to get Reader 9 to work. Last time on call I was able to print 1 page from LOD files "Customer, Name..." on the Adobe website, so tech figured it was over and we hung up. Subsequently I had same problems and called tech support back today, and was willing to pay $39, but was told that "THERE IS NO TECH SUPPORT AVAILABLE FOR FREE READER YOU MUST GO TO ADOBE FORUM FOR HELP" so here I am....
MY COMPUTER IS: HP Pavillion m5680n W/ 2 Intel Core 6400 processors @2.13MHz; 2 GB RAM; OPERATING SYSTEM IS: XP Media Edition SP3 all up to date.
I Began having problems when downloaded Adobe Reader 9. Had been using an earlier version (don't remember which) and began having problems looking at Adobe pdf files so figured I'd better accept upgrade which was being suggested by Adobe when I couldn't read files. Now I can sometimes LOOK at 4 mb + pdf files but can't print from them. Other times, even paging through a document hangs Reader9. This is true whether I am online using Firefox 2.00.20 or most up-to-date IE-7 or trying to look at or print pdf files on my hard disk which had been saved in earlier versions and with which I previously had no problems reading and printing.
Anybody having similar problems? Suggestions? HELP! Need access to pdf files on HD and w/o company tech support at any price I'm now stuck!

I don't know what's wrong with your installation of Adobe Reader 9; I have a much less sophisticated computer, and AR9 works just fine.
What you could try is uninstall Reader 9, then download and install 8.1.3 from http://download.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/8.x/8.1.3/enu/AdbeRdr813_en_US.exe
