Limit the number of records in result list cartridge

Hi experts
I want to use result list cartridge for displaying some products but also want to limit the returned results to some max records.
Is there any way i can limit the number of results in result list cartridge?
Thanks

Results list has a 'recordsPerPage' property that will limit the number of records on the page.
Are you looking to limit it at some other place?

  • How to limit the number of items that a list control can hold?

    Hi,
I am using a Flex3 List control for one of my projects.
I add drag & drop functionality to it, so that i can drag & drop elements from one control to another.
How to limit the number of items that a list control can hold / can be dropped in a list control ?
    - Sen.

    1. Listen for the dragdrop event on the control you are dragging onto.
    2. check the length of the items in the dataprovider - if it exceeds your maximum override the default drop action with e.preventDefault(); (assuming you used e for the event on the handler).

  • Limit the number of record to download to excel from a report

I am just wondering if there is a way to limit the number of rows that I want to download to excel from a report in apex, right now when I click download to excel it downloads all records. If I am displaying 15 records on report page I want the ability to download only those records.
Any help with that would be appreciated.
    Kind Regards,
    Sofia.

    Sofia,
The same report query runs for downloading the data into excel, I don't think you can limit the number of records in download.
You can achieve it using custom code, like on click of download excel redirect to another page and then restrict the data as per your need, or you can use the custom procedure to download the limited data.
Denes' utility to download into excel.

  • Limit the number of records per page in webi

    Hello All,
How do i limit the number of records per page in webi?
i was asked to have not more than 20 records per page.
In " NUmber of Vertical records per page"(Quick display mode) the default value was 100, i am trying to set it to 20 ...but its not updating....its still taking 100.
I am on BO XI 3.1 Sp2 fix pack 3
Please let me know a way to accomplish this.Any inputs appreciated
    Thanks

It can be done as follows:
    1. create a variable at report level as:
            v Test = Floor(RowIndex()/20)
    2. Added this variable in the Block as a new column.
    3. Select the v Test column, Right Click and set as section (also you can apply break).
    4. Go to structure mode select section\break and go to properties tab and select the property "Start on new page".

Optional prompts are not a problem.
Assuming you first query uses the following SQL statement
    select a,b,c from t where x=y and z=@prompt(...)
The query for checking the number of rows should use the following SQL code
select count(*) from t where x=y and z=@prompt(...)
The original query should be modified as follows
    select a,b,c from t where x=y and z=@prompt(...) AND (select count(*) from t where x=y and z=@prompt(...)) < 65000

  • Is it possible to limit the number of returned Records by SQL ?

    Hello all together,
i want to limit the number of records fetched by a sql-query
to a fixed maximum for example 200.
is there a way to do this like
SELECT * FROM CUSTOMERS FETCH FIRST 200
    under 8.1.6 EE ?
    thx for any idea

    Use ROWNUM ...
    WHERE ROWNUM < 201
There are a few "gotchas" with rownum, such as "rownum >
20 and < 201" not working. Search the forum or see the
    documentation for more detail.

  • Limitting the number of records in query

I like to limit the number of records retrieved in the query. I set Query All Records block property to NO, Query Array Size to the number I want to retrieve. Before doing that, I set form Preference - Array Processing checked. The result is form always retrieves all records meets the search condition. Could someone tell me what's wrong with it?

I do not understand why and what exactly you want to do. The query array size defines the number records your form should fetch at a time, i.e. if you have 100 records in the database and you set the array size to 20, forms will perform 5 fetch cycles to retrieve all records. However, this is transparent to the user and he will see all 100 records. This property is used for performance tuning when working with a large volume of records.

  • How to limit the number of search results returned by oracle text

    Hello All,
I am running an oracle text search which returned the following error to my java program.
    ORA-20000: Oracle Text error:

    #### ORA-29902: Fehler bei der Ausführung von Routine ODCIIndexStart()

    at oracle.jdbc.dbaccess.DBError.throwSqlException(DBError.java:169)
When i looked up the net, one suggestion that was given is to narrow the wildcard query, which i cannot in my search page. Hence I am left with the only alternative of limiting the number of results returned by oracle text search query.
Please let me know how to limit the number of search results returned by oracle text so that this error can be avoided.

    Hi,
If not set explicitly, the default value for WILDCARD_MAXTERMS is 5000. This is set as a wordlist preference. This means that if your wildcard query matches more than 5000 terms the message is returned. Exceeding that would give the user a lot to sift through.
My suggestion: trap the error and return a meaningful message to the user indicating that the search needs to be refined. Although it is possible to increase the number of terms before hitting maxterms (increase wildcard_maxterms preference value for your wordlist), 5000 records is generally too much for a user to deal with anyway. The search is not a good one since it is not restricting rows adequately. If it happens frequently, get the query log and see the terms that are being searched that generate this message. It may be necessary to add one or more words to a stoplist if they are too generic.
Example: The word mortgage might be a great search term for a local business directory. It might be a terrible search term for a national directory of mortgage lenders though (since 99% of them have the term in their name). In the case of the national directory, that term would be a candidate for inclusion in the stoplist.
Also remember that full terms do not need a wildcard. Search for "car %" is not necessary and will give you the error you mentioned. A search for "car" will yield the results you need even if it is only part of a bigger sentence because everything is based on the token. You may already know all of this, but without an example query I figured I'd mention it to be sure.
As for limiting the results - the best way to do that is to allow the user to limit the results through their query. This will ensure accurate and more meaningful results for them.

  • How to limit the number of seleted records?

    Hi,
I have a performance issue in the context of SQL .
I used JDBC to excute a select statement. The number of found records might be too large (e.g. 10000). To display them, I set a marge (e.g. 50 ) It is fine for display purpose.
However, the execution of select statement took long time although I only needed 50 of them.
Is it possible to make the execution of SQL select statement only work until it found 50 records?
it seems that i dreamed. But maybe there is a walk around.
    Regards,
    PY

You could also try calling the Statement (or
PreparedStatement etc.)'s setMaxRows() method.when using Oracle, does it use the "ROWNUM < maxRows" to limit the number of entries or does it actually retrieve all the data from the database and only then limit the result to the requested amount?

  • Nepomuksearch - How to limit the number or results

    Hello,
I use nepomuksearch for several versions of kde now.
Until now, we could limit the number of results in systemsettings.
Since switching to kde 4.10, it is no longer possible: this parameter does not exist in the systemsettings. We can not further limit the number of results.
Is there a way to limit the number of results in nepomuksearch, and if so, how?
Thank you very much for your help.

  • How to limit the number of items in a KPI Status list web part?

How to limit the number of items in a KPI Status list web part? There is no paging option for Business Category Status list or any limit can be made by changing the Item limit in default view unlike other SharePoint List web parts. So How to achieve it?
    Kindly help.
    Regards,
    ZA
    zzzSharePoint

    Hi,
According your post, I know you would like to set the item display limit in Status List web part.
In the web part, the number of items to display is based on the view which you selected when configuring the web part. The default view for status list is status list view.
However, I am not able to limit the items’ display number of the status list view. After changing the items limit, the list item displayed would not match the number specified by Item Limit. Thus, it is not possible to limit the number
of items in the Status list web part.
It could be a potential issue in SharePoint 2010.
We will log this issue to our suggestion box. As after the submission, we may not have any time guarantee when the fix may be released, but it may come out on next cumulative update.
    Appreciate your time and efforts.
    Thanks.

  • How to get the number of records of a streaming result set

    Hi guys.
So if it wasn't a streaming result set, I would have done this:
    {noformat}myResultSet<code class="jive-code jive-java">.last();
    {color:navy}*int*{color} numResults = </code>myResultSet<code class="jive-code jive-java">.getRow();
    </code>myResultSet<code class="jive-code jive-java">.beforeFirst();
    </code>{noformat}
but being a streaming result set, beforeFirst() throws an exception...
So how do you get the number of records in that result set? I wanna avoid an extra count(*) query, so I would appreciate other solutions than that.

If you get an exception, then you surely have a stack trace. That should tell you what happens, or at least where.com.mysql.jdbc.MysqlIO.checkForOutstandingStreamingData(MysqlIO.java:2066)
Why do you need to know the number of elements beforehand, anyway?I need to know the number of elements because the incoming data goes into a table. Now of course, I could use ArrayList<String[]> or something, but wouldn't that require more memory resources than Object[][] ?
No one can tell you that, at least not without more information (say, the stack trace for example). Here's the exception message:
java.sql.SQLException: Streaming result set com.mysql.jdbc.RowDataDynamic@10c0ef2 is still active. Only one streaming result set may be open and in use per-connection. Ensure that you have called .close() on  any active result sets before attempting more queries.

How do I delete excess email messages from my iPhone.  There are 300 messages listed, and every time I delete some, more are added from old messages.  How do I limit the number of messages that can appear on my phone?  How can I delete messages in bulk,

    You can't.
All photos transferred from your computer are stored in the Photo Library. The photos in the album or albums below are not duplicates - they include a pointer to the original photos stored in the Photo Library. This way you can view the photos in a particular album only by selecting the album, or you can view all photos available in all albums by selecting Photo Library.
Just as with an iTunes playlist. A song cannot be in an iTunes playlist unless the song is in the main iTunes library. Placing a song in a playlist does not duplicate the song. Remove the main iTunes library or the songs from the main iTunes library that are in a playlist and the songs will no longer be in the playlist either. This way you can listen to the songs in the playlist only by selecting the playlist, or all songs in your entire iTunes library by selecting Music under Library in the iTunes source list.
The same with iPhoto on a Mac. A photo cannot be in an in iPhoto Event or Album unless the photo is in the main iPhoto library. Placing a photo in an Event or Album does not duplicate the photo. This way you can view the photos in an iPhoto Event or Album only by selecting the Event or Album, or all photos in all Events or Albums.
