Limiting display of DIR at object link

Dear all,
I have a question of limiting the list of DIRs for an object link.
I have a document type for which object link of WBS element (PRPS) is assigned. Now when I am creating a DIR through WBS element object link through Use transaction to create document,when I click on Create icon for creating a DIR from WBS element it lists all the document types created in the system which have link to WBS element( PRPS).
My question is if a user is having authorization of specific document type, when a DIR is created from WBS element,can we restrict the list of document type to be displayed only for which user is having authorization while creating DIR through WBS element?

What you are saying is correct from Businees Requirement Perspective and I agree.
But the functionality you are taking about has to be achived by ABAP developement.
And would be a very complicated developement.
You will have to check what is the Function Module which assigns the value after displaying of Document Type.You will have to modify the FM which diaplays values related to the User who is working on that project in CJ20N.
FM must be having steps to fetch values and the display.So Change the Display part with Check Document Types ,Check User, Check his authorization and then Display.
So user will be able to see the Document Types to which he is authorized.
Check Program SAPLKKBL, Screen 0501, in which Check Module MODULE_LIST_DISPLAY

Easy DMS - problem with object linking (unicode client)

Hi Gurus,
I have a problem concerning linking a materialmaster to a DIR in a uniciode environment. I tested following scenarios:
1) Easy DMS 6.00 SP10 non unicode + non unicode Backend --> no problem
2) Easy DMS 6.00 SP10 non unicode + unicode Backend        --> no problem
3) Easy DMS 6.00 SP10 unicode        + non unicode Backend --> no problem
4) Easy DMS 6.00 SP10 unicode        + unicode Backend         --> problem
Following Problem appears in scenario 4:
Our Material Number Format is ______-____-___ (6 digits - 4 digits - 3 digits), "Lexicographical" is disabled, "Leading Zeros" is enabled.
When I type in material number "111111-2222-333" and press "check all objects and read description" Easy DMS reads the description for
111111-2222-333 but after that easy dms changes 111111-2222-333 to 000001-1111-122 and when I try to save the DIR it tells me that
000001-1111-122 is not a valid material master.
As I mentioned this only appears with the unicode client + unicode backend. Any Ideas?

please tell us which version of EasyDMS you use currently. If you do not use EasyDMS 6.00 SP10 I would kindly ask you to see SAP note 1105699 and download this SP from the Service Marketplace.

CProjects object link greyed out in DMS

Hi Everyone,
We have cProjects 4.5 setup in our environment.The RFC connections to SAP DMS have been established. DIR's of all 'Document Types' can be assigned to a project successfully.
Now,in DMS, for a DIR XYZ,'cProjects Elements' object link has been established.However, when we attempt to add a Element in cProject Elements, the netire section gets greyed out and a message is displayed as follows.
" Object link to DPR_OBJLNK cannot be changed in this transaction,Message no. 26321 ". Its understood that linking cannot be performed from CV0*n transactions. In that case,from where would this feature be enabled?

we have the same problem.
SAP ECC 6.0 on client 300, cProject on client 400, RFC connection established.
From cProject we can link DMS documents to tasks.
But, in DMS we can't see the link to the cProject task (object DPR_OBJLNK).
Is it possibile to see cProject tasks linked from the DMS documents ?
Is it possible to link cProject tasks directly from DMS documents ?

SAP DMS Object Links

I need to give some information ( such as material master / Functional Location / Vendor etc) in object links tab available in CV01 transaction. This trasaction shows some other objects under Object link tab. Can anyone explain how to
remove / Customize unwanted objects available in Object Link Tab.

Hi Harshini
To configure or removing unused object links to a particular document type, you can do it through the t-code DC10. First go to the DC10 t-code select the document type and in the leftside there is folder structure displayed called "Define object links" click on that it will display all R/3 objects linked to that document type. In the screen menu there are options available like New Entries, Copy, Delete ..etc using those options you can customize.

Generally all standard object screens are included in function group CV130, which could be displayed in transaction SE80.
For BOM header the object is 'STKO_DOC' and for BOM item it is 'STPO_DOC'. The screen are the following:
STKO_DOC: 0258
STPO_DOC: 0257
Regarding the routing link I think document could only be used in routings but not linked. So the document have to be added directly in the routing itself. Maybe note 372499 could be useful for this issue.

RE-FX Object link is not working

Hi Gurus
I have added the object VICNCN (Screen Number: 500) in DC10 for a document type. Now i can link Real Estate Contract with a DIR in Object Link tab. When i double click the Real Estate Contract number in Object Link tab then the system will open the transaction RECN. So i hope the DIR is attached to that number.
But when go to transaction RECN and select the menu Extras--> Document Management then the system prompts a message to create a New Record. Suppose if click "Yes" then it shows a error "Model Not Found". Actually the Real Contract Number has already been linked in Object Link Tab in CV01N. But it is not working properly.
Can anyone please help me to fix this issue.

Please maintain Authorization group 1 in Maintain screen for Object Link :
Maintain 1 in Auth. field. Then go to RECN, Extras, Document Management there u will find Creation of document from RECN.

Hello All,
Can you please let us know if there is any limit on the No of Object links to be maintained in the Object Link tab of DIR,
Our major Concern comes as there is One DIR logo / symbol, which is maintained in most of the Material Master around 1000s
and also the same DIR is used in all the Service and maintenance Notification as an Attachment, so the list of Object link in DIR Object link tab is going beyond control above 10000s,
i wanted to know if there is any limit on no of Object links to be maintained in DIR object links, and is there any impact on DMS functionality if the list is ever increasing,
( also can i know if there is any workaround that the DIR is only displayed going in to Material master or Notifications but the same is not listed in the DIR object links tab as here it is going on increasing,)

Thanks for the responses given, and providing a hint not to have many Object links, as it could be an performance issue going to the DMS DIR Object link TAB,
But in this particular case we are not assigning the Objectlinks going by the DMS Object links TAB, but it is done in other way round, going by the Equipment or Notification Screens,
There are few Health and safety document ( Which is created as a DIR in DMS) which needs to be assigned in Most of the Equipment and the new notifications created, and this document DIR is assigned from the Equipment and notification Screen,
And we may not be interested to go to the DIR to browse and Assign the Object Links, so as we do not frequently go and check the DIR or Use DIR Object link TAB for Object Link assignment will it in any ways cause performance Issue here??
And also as asked earlier can we have a one way attachment like the DIR is Visible in the Equipment or Notification Screen, but the DIR is not adding up the Equipment or Notification details in its Object links TAB, (by development or it is totally illogical to ask for)

Easy DMS - object linking DIRs

Hi,
I'm implementing Easy DMS currently running version v6.0 SP9. Everything is working well with SAP DMS except for one thing, object linking.
I've read other threads but no help.
My issue is I want to be able to show a DIRs relationship with other DIRs in the object links.
Easy DMS allows this to a certain extent but its useless because all it does is display the related DIRs for this DIR, you cant action anything to display these other DIRs, where as if you do the same thing in SAP DMS, you can actually get a link to the referenced DIRs and when you click on it, it will automatically navigate you to the related DIR.
Why doesn't this work in EASY, or is simply just there for show, which I find a waste of time to be honest if object links are simply for show. The same goes if I want to attach a DIR to a material same problem.

to my knowledge,Navigation to a different dir which is attached as object link in easyDMS is not possible (like in SAP GUI).

Display an error message in Portal during creation of Object Link

Hi,
I have a requirement where I need to throw an error message in Portal during creation of Object Link.
The requirement is whenever the user clicks on Item and try to create a Object Link for Material-Plant combination, if the Mat-Plant combination exist, than I have to throw/display an error message.
I tried for some enhancements in BAPI_BUS2172 but it does not work out.
Please help.

Services for object linked note to DMS DIR

dear sir,
we have created DIRs(cvo1n) and attached notes using Services For Object. The notes is visible in attachement list.Now we want to generate a report in which these notes should be available against respective DIRs.
we created a query using SQVI, linking tables DRAW,DRAT,TDWST,TSOTT and SOOD.
But this will show all the notes available in that language ( no link with DIRs)
we want to have the Notes which are attached to respective DIRs in report.
it may be possible if we link the table contains DIR and SOOD link table,which we don't know
can you suggest some method to get the details of Notes available in Services For Objects?

Object Link to Engineering Record from DIR

Hello Gurus,
With respect to the below post. I did the config setting and I see only the CASE GUID showing up and not the Engineering Record number.
PLM7 Engineering Record not working as expected
And also I am not able to navigate to my ER from the DIR Object links tab. I have set the screen no as 500 of the specific document type.
Kindly advice if I should the screen no or implement any note to get the ER# in the objects tab instead of the CASE GUID.

Object Link of DIR

Hi Gurus
I know that when you wanna upload a original of other module like MM, SD, PS... you have to do following steps:
- Create a master data in other module
- Create a document in CV01N
- Attach some original application file
- Use object link to connect them
But I think user can upload file from other module not enter CV01N. If yes. how to do it ?
P,s,: I saw my partner create DIR from project builder and he didn't need to enter any Tcode of DMS

Without DMS also you can attach documents in different transactions, like CJ20N, VA01 etc....
But documents attached in such transaction can be accessed from that particular transaction & from that particular business cycle. Say for example, you have attached a document to sales order in VA01/VA02. You, or anybody else, who wants to see that document have to open that particular sales order & from there they can see the document. They can't directly access the document. And this same document attached sales order can't be used another sales order or any other transaction. You'll have to again attach the same document (In case if you need same document in another business cycle, like project) can not be attached. If your business needs many documents need to be attached then you would be wasting your database space & such documents can not be accessed directly unless you open it from a particular transaction, from where you have attached the document.
With DMS you have amny advantages. You'll save your database space. You can link/ attach the same document to multiple objects. You can directly access documents etc..
I hope this clears your doubts.

No Workflow displayed to start in TCode FMX3 and FMZ3 (in Object Links)

God morning
When I enter in transaction FMX3 or FMZ3 and select the menu option u201CEnvironment->Object Links, the system displays an small window in which I can choice different options for the Workflow related to this Object like Workflow Overview or Archived Workflows and Start Workflow, the first two ones works fine, but the last option (Start Workflow) doesnu2019t get any workflow to be selected; right now I have implement a custom workflow which is working fin with no problems, but at least, this Workflow should be shoed up on this new window to be start from here.
The popup displayed when I select the option to start Workflow is empty, no workflows displayed.

Are you sure you have met the criteria described in the OSS Note?
The following criteria must be fulfilled for a workflow to be offered for selection:
* You must be one of the
* possible agents of the workflow. An import element of the workflow container must be defined with a reference to the object type that is defined as the basis for the selection (see above). When the workflow is started, this element is assigned the object reference.
If the workflow contains mandatory import elements that do not refer to the reference object type found above, it is not suitable and is not offered for selection.
