Limiting the Report Layout access other than Authorization Object S_ALV_LAYO

Dear Experts,
We have an issue of Layout Access limit to Users coz unwittingly these are being deleted.
(Example: IW39 à after F8 à Settings à Layout.)
The Authorization object S_ALV_LAYO which limits the access, has been defined in the multiple Roles, where every User been assigned with these Roles across Three Continents.
Instead of hampering the existing Streamlined Roles, looking for other Options since if it may give odd behaviour after modifying the Roles then all the Users across the continents will be effected.
It will be grateful if we get other options to limit the Layout access instead of controlling through Authorization Object.

The Global Roles has maintained with Authorization Object (S_LAYO_ALV) and these are been assigned to Every User coz all Users should access these reports.
So now every User has maintained with the Authorization Object to access.
Now we are trying to Control the Access to limited Users through without hampering the well maintained/streamlined  Roles, since if any adverse effects on the modified roles may impact to all the Users across the continents.
Looking for other options.

    Hi all
    On a new computer is it better to set the admin account to other than myself for security purposes? I am sure that I read some years ago that this was the best route to go down. What I am suggesting is that I will still administer the account but not as myself the user in my own name and also will it have any ramifications further down the line.
    Will be using a new Macbook Pro running Lion (when it arrives)

    when you get a new mac and set up an account, that account is designated as the admin account automatically.  Creating a second user account without admin privileges is fine to do, if you are afraid that you might accidentally do something harmful that requires admin access.  Make sure it is a second user account and not a guest account, as with a guest account, everything during a session under a guest account gets deleted after the session ends.

  • Can you download RAR Risk Analysis reports to something other than Excel?

    When you run a RAR Risk Analysis and go to export the resulting reports, RAR automatically exports this into an Excel spreadsheet.
    Is it possible to export the reports into some other kind of format/tool?  (SQL would be ideal.)

    Our CMG group runs a company-wide risk analysis 2-3 times a year to use in their SOD Review process.  We are looking into loading this report into QuickView to give them more capabilities with using the report.  QV will work with Excel, but you have to load every spreadsheet and every page separately. 
    We are looking to see if we could download it into some other format that would contain all of the report in just one file.  Would make the QV load easier.  Something like SQL would probably be ideal.

      I have some screens developed in Webdynpro ABAP and all these have been linked to Portal as pages. In Portal If i click on the link in detailed navigation i can see the corresponding screen on the right side. Now in one screen i have to input some data and submit the data, Now my problem is if i enter some data and before submitting the data if i click on any other link in the detailed navigation, that corresponding screen is opening and all the data of the previous screen is lost.
    Can any one suggest me, how can i restrict the user from accessing other screens before submitting the data of that screen from portal perspective.

    The pages can be restricted from the user access by using the ACL permission or you can restrict the page by making invisible in navigation area which you do not want to show to the user . Open the page properties and select navigation category in the drop down and select the Invisible in navigation area property to yes.By default this property is No.Change the property for all pcd pages which want to hide from user access.

    If you mean connect the iPod to the iPhone via Wifi hotspot, then yes. Just go the "settings", then "Wifi" and select you iPhone and enter the passcode and your in.

    Well, my new iPad 2 does connect via BT with my MBP, but apparantly it doesn't offer any meaningful service (at least to me).  The BT connection on my iPad does work very well with my BT keyboard that came with my iMac.
    The keyboard connection seems to be the ONLY thing I'll ever use the BT for.  Then again, maybe down the line on a future iPad firmware update, who knows what the BT might then do?

  • How to align object in the report layout

    Hello,
    I find it very difficult to aligin objects in the report editor or in the template editor. I know there are some alignment options, like aligning to the grid or aligning a group of objects, but they seem to work on the bounding rectangle for the object. For my text objects, those rectangles are arbitrarily sized. So aligning those rectangles does not correctly align the text baseline, for example.
    Does anyone have a tip on how you can align objects? I there maybe a way to alter the size of objects by changing a number in a property sheet somewhere?

    The problems I am having now occur when I am editing the margin in the template editor. For some reason, the flex and confine options can not be turned off in the template editor. I believe they are turned on in this mode, at least in tools:options: paper layout they are turned on. But anyway, this really does not matter because I don't have nested objects in the margin. The objects that will go flying off are completely unrelated to the object I want to move or resize.
    Update: I have just tried editing the layout of a report that was based on the template I am working on. Turning flex off there had a positive effect. It seems indeed the 'flex' setting is to blame for the problems I am experiencing. Thanks for the tip!
    So now I would really like to know how to turn of flex in the template editor..

    I have developed a tabular report and the layout (lines, rectangles... etc as customer wants) ....
    Now , i want to alter only the report style.... that is to change it to group left....
    Is it possible... to select the group fields and the fields displayed in the report without redeveloping the report UI (lines , rectangles... e.t.c).
    I have tried the report wizard... but the layout destroyed... and have to do the UI from the beginning.....

    Hi Sim,
    Group Left or Group Above means that you are grouping for 1 or more fields.
    In the Data model, you will have to create a new group and drag the group fields to this new group.
    In the Layout, you will need to add a new repeating frame below all the other repeating frame, frames, etc. ie. create a repeating frame over existing objects. You may need to move all existing objects down and to the right so that there is enough room to create a new repeating frame over these objects. With the repeating frame selected, from the Arrange Menu, select Send to back (F6) or Move Backwards (F8) several times so that the new repeating frame is below all the objects from the tabular layout.
    Also, fix up the source property for the repeating frame. Create a new field(s) inside this new repeating frame for your group left field(s).

    According to your description, you want to filter the records of prior year based on only one parameter selection. Right?
    In this scenario, we can create two parameters. The first one is for user to select. The second parameter is based on the first parameter selection. We don't need to specify Available Values for the second parameter, but we should use expression to specify
    Default Values based on the first parameter selection. Use the expression below:
    =DateAdd("m",-12,FormatDateTime(Parameters!param1.Value))
    Then we just need to apply a filter on the matrix/dataset to get the records which the date is between values in these two parameters.

    We would like to report on a different period than the standard. The report period starts on the 26th of the previous month and ends on the 25th of current month. For example. we would like to make a report that shows the opportunities per month based on the opportunity start date, an opportunity with start date 27th of December 2008 should be displayed in the month January of 2009. Is there any possibility to do this?

    Have a new field which shows Month, Put a formula using case statement stating if opportunity start date is greater than 25 then Next Month of the opportunity start date else the same month as the opportunity start date. This will help you

    We have a requirement where one of the dimension tables - ACCOUNT is unavailable during 6 pm - 8 pm and the query should go to ACCOUNT_BKUP table instead of ACCOUNT table during that time period. In other words, we want the query to go against ACCOUNT_BKUP table when a user accesses the report between 6 and 8 pm everyday and against ACCOUNT table during any other time. What is the best approach to model this scenario?

    I think if you're using a UDF to set this Status for Marketing documents
    First you need to set what item corresponds to each Status level you're tryinf to deploy
    After that you can use SDK to set this new property or Formatted searches to change the Status you re creating, and save the document as a draft during your process and your status.
    But if you're trying to change the fiel Status used on every Marketing document (i mena the system one), you should know that it is impossible 'cause this is an only read system field.
