Line thickness in 3D line charts

Is it possible to change the thickness of the plotted lines in a 3D line chart? Even though I click on the line, the graph inspector doesn't let me change anything. Thanks.

Many attributes can be set in the Chart Attributes page Custom XML section. Line thinkness. Legend font size, height and width. But I haven't found a setting for the "icon" size. Even thought I increased font size and the size of the Legend on the page, the legend "lines" remained unchanged in size.

Line Chart glitch - grid lines thick at certain heights

The Flex Line Chart control does not display correctly at certain heights. The gridlines that are supposed to be 1px pin stripes are sometimes displayed up to 100px wide. This can be demonstrated with 1 line of code

I also have another small app that uses a timer to demonstrate how as the height increases the gridlines increase from:

PCXML script is used for chart rendering, and with that I think you can't demark the Gridlines.
The following Xml file gives the definitions for the chart components including gridlines.

Which inturn refers to the following js for gridlines
i think you have to work on the Js here demark the grid lines by default

Line charts of variable thickness in a series

I'm trying to create a line chart where a small subset of the line [i.e. between points 1 and 3] has a different thickness than the rest of the line in order to highlight that region. Any ideas as to how to create that (or if it's even possible in this release of Numbers)?

Thanks, but what I'm really trying to do is change a subset of that line's thickness.
I don't think it's possible using a line chart, though it would be if I could use an XY-Scatter chart with lines. The trick there would be to have two series with one overlapping point, and to set the different thicknesses for the different series. Unfortunately, this requires Scatter Lines, which (if I'm not mistaken, and I do hope I am), Numbers can't do.

I created a line chart and everything is smooth. But there is one thing that I'm not satisfied, which is I can't thicken the line of the chart. I try to look for Help, but it didn't show anything. From what I explore and try, I only can enlarge the marker, but not the line.
And another issue is, can I choose the color for the line? Because the report will auto generate the line with color that is not clear which is yellow which border me so much. I wonder is that I can choose the color of the line.

What version of Crystal are you using? I can click on the line to highlight and then right click to get the option to format line. You can then choose color and line thickness. I'm using Crystal XI. It may take a few trys to highlight the line.. you have to hit it just right but I can't imagine this wasn't available in earlier versions.

Change width of line in 2d line chart

I have created a 2d line chart, and Numbers draws blue lines connecting my datapoints. I would like to change the width of these connecting lines, but can't seem to find anywhere to do so. The only formatting option that seems to affect these lines at all is the "Connection Lines" setting, to set them straight or curved. Can you change the thickness of this line somewhere? Can you change the color?
Clicking on the line itself only selects the data points, like this:
There are no options here for styling the line's width or color.

As soon as I posted this, I discovered the solution. While selecting the data points, you need to select the "Style" tab under the Format sidebar, like so:
Then you can style the connecting lines however you like.

How to display a goal line in a Flash 2D Line Chart?

Hello,
I am using Apex 3.0.1 and have a Flash 2d Line Chart displaying a ratio that varies from 1.0 to 1.6 for every month for a year. I need to draw a goal line at 1.2 to show the goal for the ratio. Also, I have grid lines enabled for the y-axis.
Any pointers/tips on how to accomplish displaying this goal line would be really useful.

I'm having the same problem!
APEX is relatively new to me. CUSTOM XML for tweaking charts is even more recent. I tried to get a goal line to work in a line chart as you described but I have had no success. I really require a target/goal/reference line in a vertical bar chart but getting it to work in a line chart would be a welcome first step.
I have tried the following 2 samples of code without success:

Line chart problem

Hi,
I'm using crystal reports for eclipse.
When I create a line chart (with 4 ranges) and refresh the report for the first time evrything looks alright.
After saving and reopening the report something funny is hapening.
If I refresh the chart the line thickness is increasing.
If I repeat the refresh action I will get only 1 visible very thick line.
Is it not possible to create a line chart with 4 ranges.
If I make the same chart with only 3 ranges this is not hapening.

While in the Preview Mode, highlight the Line > Right-click the highlighted line and select Format Connector Line > Under Thickness choose a higher value.

Is there any way to make the line in the Line Chart thicker? I am using the 'Line chart with markers at data points' but the line is so thin it is barely visible when the report is printed out in color.

Change line style to line only first, right click the line, select "Format Connector Line" and format the line. Then go to "series options" to change the line style back to markers and lines and format the markers size.

Flash line chart: manipulating the line and data point

In Apex 3.1 Flash line chart
Is there a way to change the line thickness and suppress the circular data point? We think it looks cartoonish and ugly especially when there are many data points.

Line charts appearance

Hi,
I'm new to numbers and I need to create a line chart using a large set of data points. By default settings my line looks really, really botchy and I cannot find any option to change it's thickness. The only thing I can do is to put Data Symbols, which fills the line with donuts, of sizes I can select. Why anyone would want to do that though is beyond me.
I would be grateful for any ideas.

Text in legend in line chart

Hello all.
I have line chart with the legend. This legend contain text with length more then 20 characters. The text cuts off by some characters from the end, for example, it should be
1. Test1Test2Test3
2. Test4Test5Test6
and it will be shown like
1. Test1Test2Te
2. Test4Test5Tes
Changes in legend config window in Answers and in file cordalayout.cxml don't work.
How else can I fix this problem?

What OS is on your server? All browsers?
I'm actually getting the exact opposite situation as you, I created legend items with really long text and they aren't being truncated at all. Even if I set the truncate value. I'm on Windows Server 2K3 and the same version of OBIEE.
I'll keep testing to see if I can come up with something, but if someone else out there knows what's going on, I'd love to hear it.

JavaFX Update Line Chart on Tab pane

I am wondering can anybody help with this problem.
I have an application that can create a new tab when the LineChart FXML view is called by way of onMouseClicked event from a bar graph (using scenebuilder). However, I need this Line chart to update when the user clicks a new bar on the bar graph page to show this new data.
Initially the Line chart tab will open and display data from the first bar graph click and when I click another bar in Tab A (bar chart) if it has the same number of rows it will refresh the LineChart tab otherwise I get an error. Then if I try to load another line graph tab using a different bar graph as the source I get a child duplication error
(So tab A has a bar graph that calls tab B to represent data as a line graph, however it wont do it more then once when there is a different number of points to show)
(Also tab C, another Bar chart will not load a new tab) Exceptions below & Class detail below.
I am using clear() to empty the observable list I have which is used to populate the graph and table before it reads in the new data values
What is the proper way/ best way to dynamically add another tab and update the chart in the tab with new values? Any help would be appreciated.

Adding New Data To Line Chart: New Data Does Not Inherit Previous Color Scheme

This has me very confused. Here's what's being done:
Right-click on existing chart
Select "Data..."
Add additional data in the dialog that pops up
Click check-mark
The chart appends more data to the existing lines on the line chart, as it should, however the newly created portion of one of the lines (new data) is not the same color as the line up to that point. The line color is #0084A9, but when the new data is entered the new data on that same line is represented in an ever so slightly darker blue.
Any guesses as to why that would be happening? I can manually chage it, but that's a hassle and shouldn't necessary - I wouldn't think, anyway. Any help would be appreciated.

OK looked at this closer, and seen your problem as acolor shift from PMS to a CMYK that was slightly off.
If you want to work with Hexadecimal colors, then you need to File>> Document Color Mode >> RGB, otherwise your colors won't stick but convert to cmyk and be off.
Your graph went through some editing and got corrupted. I copied and pasted your date into a new graph, and then used the testube to apply samples to get your colors back. Will send you an email with fixed file.
That’s the strangest thing. The color you’re seeing is #4e46ff, the color it should be is the color reflected in the legend: #0083a9
What’s extra interesting is that when I open it I see the legend color for the entire line. Then, when I add data, the section of the line that depicts the newly added data is #4e46ff …. So I have this two tone line. It’s intriguing that you opened this on a mac and this difference was presence, I wonder if that is in anyway a clue. Maybe the original document was created in RGB and the new data is on CMYK? Thoughts?
