Lines please!

Am I missing something obvious? Line styles would obviously be lovely (dotted/dashed)
Having no lines at all (other than object "stroke" borders) and making the user create 1px tall rectangles is just plain bizarre. Tell me I'm missing something.

You're not missing anything. "Lines" simply haven't hit the top of the priority list, yet. Doing one thing means not working on others from the never ending list of "OMG! I can't believe Muse doesn't have X" list of requests. We'll get there. We just haven't gotten there yet.
FWIW, for solid lines it's generally easier to use the ability to stroke each side of a rectangle separately in the Stroke drop down panel (i.e. just the top, just the left, etc.), rather than drawing a 1px rectangle.
Dashed lines can be simulated by creating a small image that's half white (or transparent) and half black (or whatever two colors you want) then use that as a horizontal or vertical repeating fill in a rectangle. Certainly not as simple as Line Styles, but flexible and it is how such things are commonly achieved in HTML/CSS.

    bpruse,  I may be completely off-track for your issue, but I had a similar situation where I wanted to downgrade a Mac Pro from Server to plain OS X and it would not boot from the OS X install disk.
    I was attempting to use a full-install OS X.6.x disc with an earlier SL version than that which originally came installed on the Mac Pro.  After two or three hours of fiddling, I figured it out and used the discs that came with the system.
    However, I don't know how that would work in your case if this is the mini server-version.  I'm sure the disks would only have Server on them.  Worse-case scenario, find out which X.6.x the OEM disc is installing and get an OS X disc with a new installer.

    Not sure if there are any examples. The Acrobat SDK is a must, but it is best treated as documentation to study rather than examples to copy. The examples only illustrate a tiny fraction of the capabiliies.
    (One other note: the solution must involve the client owning Acrobat; Acrobat is not for server use).

    your first post was the one which you really wanted to use for the assignment in order to get the output you desire. anyways like jverd said that you cannot update string because they are immutable. you can always do this
    makeMoney[i] = makeMoney.replace(blah blah).

    We has shooted yesterday on RED in 3K 50fps(slow motion)
    When i play QT rpoxy files, its OK, but when i do Log&Transfer RED files in FC and then put them on timeline they play very fast! The FCP creat automaticly project with 25fps.I tryed to convert with REDRushes to ProRes422 files. And get same result.They play Ok in QuickTime but play fast on timeline when i drag them.Just one differece is- Proxy files dont play on time line(i get red line,- need to render),but converted qt files(ProRes) play with no prob on timeline(but very fast)
    Ok, Of course i can do render proxy files in FC(Need Render),but he need 24hours for it.Bu i have not much time
    What shoud i do?!!

    Call your local user's group and see if someone with a much faster computer will come to your help. I don't think you can move forward until you render. Once rendered you should be able to change the speed of the clip to anything you want or need (modify - change speed - etc.). I hope someone who knows more than me responds, but that's all I can think of.

    I have the following problem with the waiving lines across the screen when I dim the brightness.
    Now this is the second MACBOOK I swapped after the first one had the same problem, now this has the same problem again and the issue is that I got this on Dec 28th so 2 weeks are already gone. I made an appointment at the genius bar but the problem is that is very hard to reproduce the same problem. What if the genius bar will say that the Macbook is fine?? What are my options?

    Hi Coppa -
    I see your problem with bringing in a machine that only shows symptoms some of the time. If the lines only occur when you adjust the brightness, perhaps you could live with this glitch for a while ...then when it gets to the point that it's easy to reproduce then bring it in.
    You have a full year warranty on hardware issues (of which this is the case) so I suggest waiting a bit till it gets worse.
    lol, or another alternative might be to hang out at the store all day waiting for it to appear!

    Thank you for your help. This would be one of my older Macs...I have a new iMac as my workstation/server, 3 iMac G3's iMac G4, iMac G5, eMac, Mac Mini, PowerBook G4, 2 iBook G4s, iBook G3, MacBook, MacBook Pro...I think that I could live with the line on the screen, but it would be nice if I could replace the whole display/ribbon cable assembly to make it even better. I upgraded the entire machine inside and out except for the display and when I finished..I turned it on and it was fine..about 3 weeks later a pink line appeared...seems that it could be a simple pinched/broken cable? Who knows, but I wish I could connect it to an external monitor..missing that VGA adapter..thanks though..I wonder why it randomly appeared when the display hinge was rarely opened/closed..any ideas why it is only a single line and not multiple? I showed it to my friend who is into tech and he believes that that particular column of pixels are simply dead..appreciate it..

    I have a lovely new 4s, have had it for less than 24 hours and there is a problem with the camera that I cannot find anywhere else on the web yet... I have an extra grid line that does not disappear and which does show up on the photos I take!
    Details: the grid line is on the main rear facing camera only; it is there whether the grid is turned on or off; it appears as a grid line on the photos you take; the camera is up-to-date with the latest version; I have tried restarting the phone; it only happened after I switched to HDR mode and then when I turned HDR off, this mysterious extra grid line was there; the line is only there in photo mode - it disappears when switched to video mode...
    and I think that's those are all the details I can give you!
    Is anyone experiencing / experienced this same problem? If so, please help!! Thank you so much!

    Hi KiltedTim. Thanks, yes, I will definitely have to do this if I can't get rid of it - just so annoying, because won't be able to go for a while, until after the Christmas holidays, which means I'll be without my cool iPhone camera!
    Also - the one thing I forgot to mention in my original post is that I took several photos which all came out perfectly. The issue only happened after the first time I switched HDR mode on and then turned it back off.

    It is having lines.. in each line one qty cloumn is there...
    i want to commit the form and go to next line....and so on ....ie commit the form line wise.
    so that i can use the previous all lines values....
    I tried do_key('commit_form') in when-validate-record trigger, but giving error.
    Can anyone please help....

    The When-Validate-Item (WVI) trigger only allows you to execute SQL Statements and Unrestricted Built-ins. The Commit_Form built-in is Restricted, therefore you can try to use logic like Dora suggests and test system variables in the When-New-Record-Instance (WNRI) trigger but this is problematic if you are simply updating an existing record. I would suggest using a Forms Package Variable to capture the status of the record and perform your Forms Commit in a Block or Form level When-New-Item-Instance (WNII) trigger. I typically will create a Form_Variables package specification where I place variables that are global to just the form and not the whole application. For example:
    /* Create a Package Specification in the Program Units node of the Object Navigator */
    PACKAGE Form_Variables IS
         v_execute_commit          VARCHAR2(1) := 'N';
    END;Then in your WVI trigger, have code similar to the following:

  • How can I fix this line please

    Hello Everyone,
    I have in a form the following line

    When I hit apply the words champs and obligatoires break on two different lines. There is space for them to be displayed next to each other.
    I cannot see how to fix it. Would someone be kind enough to tell me what I am missing?

    The whole form is a subscription form and it is quite long that is why I did not put it all here. This is the end of the form and while the word was in English it worked fine I translate it but it takes 2 words instead of one and they split.

  • Help drawing curved line - please!!!

    Seriously, I can't find a tool to draw a curved line in PSE 6!  I was told to use the "pen tool" but I can't find it.  I was told to make the selection right clicming on Pencil and has no options other than for a freehand drawing with the mouse.  The "shapes" tool will only give me a straight line.  What the heck am I missing?

    The pen tool is only in Photoshop, not elements. You can draw freehand with the brush or pencil tools (you can  put something on a separate layer below and trace the edge if you need help), or you can draw a selection with the elliptical marquee tool, go to Edit>Stroke (outline) selection to color it, then erase the parts you don't want.
    The custom shape tool draws many shapes. It sounds like you have the line tool selected. Hold down its icon in the toolbox and you'll see several other tools in there. The polygon tool with the rounded corners option turned on will draw circles, although it's not supposed to.

    I have BT Infinity option 1.  dslchecker.bt.com shows that I should get 38 down and 9 up minimum.  For a few weeks after BT Infinity was installed, I was getting around 38 down and 7 up with interleaving off.
    Ever since the service was installed, I have experienced the reboot issue with the HH5 with the event log suddenly reporting "PPP LCP Send Termination Request [User request]".  I originally had a fault open about this reboot issue.
    After reading this forum, I tried to solve the reboot issue myself by attaching an Openreach modem (ECI) to the HH5 and connecting the line to the modem.  That solved the disconnection issue and the Openreach modem seemed rock solid.  Speeds were still the same, 37 down and 7 up with no issues at all.
    The original fault was still open with BT though but on 20th April, the fault status changed to closed and that's when all the performance issues began.  Prior to the 20th, the only issue had been the HH5 rebooting, something I had solved by using the ECI modem.  However, since the 20th, there are no more reboots with the ECI modem but the performance is dreadful and interleaving has been turned on.
    Last night, BT speedtest reported 16mb down and 5mb up.  Tonight, BT speedtest is reporting 10mb down and 5mb up with 38ms ping.  Pings are dropping intermittently when the speed is low too (a couple of time outs per minute).
    Today, I replaced the ECI modem and HH5 with a Technicolor TG589 (it's a router with an integrated VDSL2 modem, Plusnet were trialling these for self-install).  The connection itself has stayed up (it always does when I don't use the HH5 on it's own) but the performance is still dreadful.
    The thing is, before the 20th when BT closed the fault call, everything was fine and the only problem was the HH5 rebooting for no apparent reason.  I had decent speeds and a decent ping.  Since the 20th, interleaving has been turned on and the stats have plummeted.
    I was wondering if this was simple congestion.  I just did another dslchecker speed test and the download was 23 and upload 5 with a ping of 24 so it has improved a bit since starting this post.  When the speed goes down, the pings time out once or twice a minute too.
    I did a BT further diagnostics check about 10 minutes ago and it says there are no problems.  My IP profile is 38.69 down and 10mb up with actual speeds of 23.8mb down and 5.09mb up.
    I did another check just before posting this mail and speeds had risen to 29 down and 5 up with a ping of 33ms.
    Like I said, the performance issues started when BT closed the fault call on the 20th (prior to that, everything was fine as long as I didn't use the HH5 on its own).  I have been wary of doing too many reboots though and I don't think that I have crossed the DLM threshold for an IP profile change.  My IP profile seems the same as it always has been (according to dslchecker).
    The mods here have a good reputation for fixing things so could someone take a look at this?

    Just to add to this.  As has been my previous experience, the speeds have now gone back to normal once the peak hours are over.
    It's just turned midnight and the speeds are now 36.29 / 5.12 (ping 22.25ms) which is fine (it was better before when interleaving was off but still).
    This problem does seem to occur during peak periods (evening time up to midnight) which would indicate a capacity issue.
    There is a PEW scheduled for 24th that includes my area code (01782), I don't know if that will help.

    I hpoe it will help.  It's just that the speeds were fine before the fault was closed by BT on the 20th and interleaving was applied.  Ever since the fault was closed, speeds during the evening have been atrocious (before the fault was closed, it was 37.5mb down, since the fault was closed it goes as low as 5mb down).
    There is another thing worth noting here too.  Before the fault was closed on the 20th, the event log on the HH5 would get lots of firewall errors (blocked packets, spoofed packets, etc).  Normally, this would be the firewall doing its job but I have never believed that to be the case for the HH5 since the errors are easily reproducable on demand.  All I had to do was to open a few webpages, refresh the log and sure enough, the firewall errors would be there with IP addresses relating to the websites I had opened.
    However, ever since the fault was closed on the 20th, there have been no firewall errors in the event log at all during normal activity.  Not a single one.  I can open a plethora of webpages and not a single firewall event appears in the log.  The only time that firewall errors do appear is when I restart something (router, modem, etc).  The firewall entries appear for a few minutes then, presumably because the packets are getting lost.
    A lot of people have reported these firewall log entries and my theory is that these reports of "blocked" and "spoofed" and "illegal" packets are actually lost packets caused by a bad connection/line.  So the HH5 isn't actually being attacked at all, it's just detecting that some packets are unexpected and were blocked (unexpected because of the line quality, not because of an attack).
    However, even with the degradation in service and the fact that firewall errors no longer appear in the log, the HH5 still reboots randomly so I have had to swap it for a Thomson TG589 instead.
    I read a post somewhere that stated that an Openreach engineer had said that some exchanges weren't compatible with the HH5 (hardware compatibility issue) and will lead to this reboot issue.  I do wonder whether that is the case since I have used an ECI modem from Ebay and a Technicolor TG589 from BroadbandBuyer and neither one reboots at all, the HH5 is the only router that does it.  And the problem does only seem to be affecting some people, not everyone.
    But still, the reason for my oringal post is the huge degradation in performance during the evenings (up to the early hours).  I'm only mentioning the HH5 firewall entries and the HH5 rebooting issue because they all seem to relate together as if they are all symptoms of an underlying problem.

    The light grey grid lines that appear during the cropping of photos are perfect on a dark photo, but they are REALLY difficult to see on a very light photo.
    I'm not asking to change colors; just one value change option would suffice.

    For Version 3.0 they could probably auto detect the over brightness and switch between a light and a dark. But I wouldn't hold my breath for anytime soon. A toggle for dark or light overlay would do!
