Waiving Lines, Please any suggestion??

Hello ,
I have the following problem with the waiving lines across the screen when I dim the brightness.
Now this is the second MACBOOK I swapped after the first one had the same problem, now this has the same problem again and the issue is that I got this on Dec 28th so 2 weeks are already gone. I made an appointment at the genius bar but the problem is that is very hard to reproduce the same problem. What if the genius bar will say that the Macbook is fine?? What are my options?

Hi Coppa -
I see your problem with bringing in a machine that only shows symptoms some of the time. If the lines only occur when you adjust the brightness, perhaps you could live with this glitch for a while ...then when it gets to the point that it's easy to reproduce then bring it in.
You have a full year warranty on hardware issues (of which this is the case) so I suggest waiting a bit till it gets worse.
lol, or another alternative might be to hang out at the store all day waiting for it to appear!

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

Please - any suggestions to get a Minolta QMS 2060 to work with S.L.?

I have 2 printers connected to my mac which were both working fine before the Snow Leopard upgrade this morning. I had the latest version of 10.5 installed previously.
These printers are:
Minolta QMS 2060 laserprinter (connected through ethernet router network)
Epson 1290 inkjet (connected through direct USB)
The Epson 1290 connected fine after upgrade to S.L. Automatically found in the printer preferences box and the driver configured instantly to Gutenprint v5.2.3. So far no real problem there.
However the Minolta cannot be seen in the same Print & Fax window. I've tried restarting both mac and printer but the printer cannot be found by adding a new printer. I've also tried connecting via the I.P. address (using Internet Printing Protocol) using both generic and QMS2060 PPDs. Here a printer icon is generated but once I try to print anything it cannot find the printer and puts the print job on hold. I've also connected the printer direct via the ethernet cable to the mac, with again the same problem.
I've searched these forums and not found anything that would seem to fix the problem directly. I've also sent emails to Konica Minolta but am not holding my breath for a response as unfortunately this excellent printer is discontinued. I've looked on the Apple site to see how I can record this problem with Apple, but it seems my only way of mentioning this problem is on these forums.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Look forward to any suggestions.

I realised I had to change the I.P. address of the printer. This was a mission in itself as Minolta has all but given up on the QMS range of printers so I couldn't find much on their site. However a bit of digging around unearthed the manual for the printer, and I reconfigured the printers I.P. address to be close to my router address.
I then found another site that mentioned Minolta printers should have the suffix /ps after the address if networking via ethernet (this was posted pre Snow Leopard).
So after making these two changes I finally got the printer to work using the LPD window. I then reinstalled the QMS driver that was deleted by the Snow Leopard install, and added that as my print driver. All works well so far. 1 day lost but in the end it was worth the stress!!!

I then went to this site to change the name of the printer to something a little more human friendly.

Click on printers on the top menu, then click on your printer name, select modify from the drop down menu, and then you are able to change the name and location to something a little friendlier than I.P. addresses.

I'm now going to redownload the Epson drivers as it seems from another thread that there was no real need for Snow Leopard to delete these old drivers at all...

HT5772 I can't delete music from my iPad, iOs 7. Please, any suggestions?

Please help. I have swiped unwanted songs as suggested by others; left, right, hard, light - all to no avail. There is no delete button appearing. I just can't get rid of these songs. I've read forums, and the Apple support page. Any ideas?

I had the issue of songs being undeletable (swiping left would not produce a delete button).
vlad_djkax's suggestion of signing out of your apple store session and then signing back in solved the issue for me (iOS 8.1). So in summary:
1. Open settings app
2. Scroll down to "iTunes & App Store" and select it
3. On right at top you'll see your Apple ID, in blue font. Tap on it.
4. A pop-up window will appear. Select "sign out"
5. Now switch back to your Music app. Any songs that weren't downloaded before will now be gone. The rest should all be deletable by swiping left on it.
6. If you still cannot get the delete button to appear try forcing the music app to close completely by double-clicking your home button and swiping up on the music app, and reopen it.
7. Finally when you've got everything deleted you can sign back into iTunes in the settings app.

I can no longer make comments on Facebook: I upgraded to Firefox 4.0, but then realized it didn't support my favorite add-on, so I switched back to Firefox 3.6.17. Please, any suggestions?

-I have already emptied cache, cookies & disabled add-ons. None of this worked.

I discovered that I can comment when I click through a notification, but still can't make comments from the news feed or on my wall.
I've done all the suggested troubleshooting: Disabled all plug-ins & extensions, cleared cache, cookies & recent history, checked for malware, checked flash & Javascript. What am I missing? I can comment while on Chrome or Safari ... but I prefer Firefox! Any ideas?

Open Console in Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when trying one of those Apps.

3GS doesnt recognise sim. Status switches between 'no sim' or 'searching' ? If it does find the network it only keeps it for a minute or two. Please any suggestions welcome.

Important Please Helps--Suggestions needed

My ex is on my family plan with our child and my exes mom. I have no problem keeping the family plan, in fact i have to due to new phone.
My ex needs to monitor our daughters call and texts, nd the only way to do so is through my verizon so i have to give her the account info, however, she also checks my calls and texts. I can't have this happening.
Is there a way to spin my daughters phone onto another login where only her phone info will show up?
Please, any suggestion are greatly needed and appriciated.

As you can set up a separate My Verizon login for each line whereas the daughters login would be for that line only, why don't you give your 'ex' access to that login (username & password). Just make sure that login account DOES NOT have Account Manager privileges or any other freedoms to either view your line information or make unauthorized changes to your account.
I am guessing this would also have to be agreed upon by the daughter as she may already be using that login. In that case, just make this a rule of her continuing cell phone service on your plan to allow this monitoring.
I recommend trying this out on your own before giving your 'ex' the access to insure it meets your security needs.

As Randy Landry1 says, Google for "silent ringtone", download and install on you iPhone as a ringtone.
Now create a contact for the offending phone number. Assign the contact to the silent ringtone and set no vibrate.
When that number calls it will not ring, nor vibrate. It will light up the screen, but if you do not see that, it will not bother you. They could leave voice mail, but that is easily deleted.
And if it is a situation where the are violating the do not call list, you can use the missed call log to report the number to the FTC.
Also, if the calls are abusive or threading, and the leave a voice mail, you something to show the police.

I turn on my mac without hearing the chime boot sound from Apple.. after that im always turning on my Motu (extermal soundcard firewire) i still got that message, by audio midi setup my Motu appears from some minutes and then goes away again.. The same time that my Motu appears i simply start a mp3 file to check if i got a sound but still no luck... Made all possible updates but still no sound.. I'm using Logic pro 9 and have lots of thing here to do.. Try also a hotline from Apple to call but im waiting like more than an hour and still no answer... Please any suggestions? This problem came for the first time after i made an update in Avid Protools...
After that i tryed everything and still got no sound... Next step i FORMAT my Mac Pro.. Back everything UP and reinstall Lion and still '' NO OUTPUT DEVICES FOUND'', i performed a clean install.. Thats why i am afraid it can be a Hardware problem.. So, if anyone of you guys know something about it, please share your knowledge with me..
