Link Button.Visible = false refresh problem.
Hi,
Who knows why what to do when you make your LinkButton.Visible = false and some pixels around the arrow remain on screen. Its very ugly.
I did try a Form.Refresh() but a Refresh() never word for me anywhere so
I'm looking for some kind of trick to completely hide the arrow !
Any idea ?

I've got a linked button in a column within a matrix that shows Sales Order Document Numbers. I've set it to link to the Sales Order form using the following code:

The problem I've got though is that if the Sales Order is created with a manually entered Document Number I get the following error when clicking on the linked button.:
"You are not permitted to perform this action [Message 200-30]"
I guess the reason it is happening is that the DocEntry and DocNum are different and the Linked Button is using the DocEntry as reference to which Sales Order needs to be opened when the linked button is pressed.
Is there anyway to stop this from happening and for the Linked Button to function as normal even if the Sales Order has a manually entered document number? So is there a way to allow the Linked Button to link through to a Sales Order using the DocNum not the DocEntry?
SteveCheers mate. I've just tried setting using the PressLink property of the EditTextColumn object however it's not letting me set the EditTextColumn to the column I have in my matrix. The code I have is:

Problem making buttons visible
Hi there, I have a poker game that all worked fine until I was told to restructure it in a MVC style. I never had this problem before I changed it but I'm having issues with making my buttons visible when it's the players turn. At first I setVisible to false which works fine, then I call my method to display them from my model and they display fine, so seemings as all is good to here I think it's the next bit that's causing my issue, I have actionListeners attached that when fired setsVisible on all the buttons to false again (which works) but the next time I call my method to make certain buttons visible they don't appear. I've tested that the method is being called with the correct parameter passed and it is. Now I must apologise because my knowledge of swing is very poor but I have searched and read alot and tried several approaches with no joy, I will definitly be studying up more on it in the future but time is against me at the mo. The only thing that seems to half work is if I use this.paint(g) the buttons display as I want them but my program crashes cos to be honest I don't know what g should be. Is this the right approach or is there a more simple way I can update my GUI to display my buttons?
Works for me but you could try to add a revalidate(); repaint(); on the buttons parent.

when the browser was refreshed and returning different MIME types
for all other actions from browser.
I have doubt, will the above solution works always for all servers,browsers?.

the bad news is that u simply cant disable or add any listener to the back button of the browser.
When u hit the back button of ur browser the URL gets re-executed. So in case u have a JSP then the history.forward() is the best solution. [only if the page doesnt get expired similar to secure https sites]
Now dont say that user can have javascript disabled ...those users will have a pretty touch time browsing websites since javascripts r used extensively by almost all websites.
But in case u have an action.do or servlet call then u need to manage it using a session variable since the request will be sent to the server rather than client.
For multiple form submittion issues read the following article in javaworld...
Client vs. server solutions
Different solutions can solve this multiple form submission situation. Some transactional sites simply warn the user to wait for a response after submitting and not to submit twice. More sophisticated solutions involve either client scripting or server programming.
In the client-only strategy, a flag is set on the first submission, and, from then on, the submit button is disabled based on this flag. While appropriate in some situations, this strategy is more or less browser dependent and not as dependable as server solutions.
For a server-based solution, the Synchronizer Token pattern (from Core J2EE Patterns) can be applied, which requires minimal contribution from the client side. The actual issue is when i use command link/button in an table/iterator whose parent tag is another iterator then the action is not taking place.

URGENT! Help with creating more than one linked button

I've got buttons (with a mouse over effect that shows the name of the plant), and in AS2 I could use GetURL to link an invisible button to the URL, but to create the sliding effect, I had to use AS3. I've understood that GetURL doesn't work in AS3.

JC is the instance name of one of my buttons. So far everything works, but I want to add linking to another button, and I'm not sure how to do this correctly. When I've created the invisible buttons, I've drawn a square, converted it to a button, named it, and named the instance name. Changed the Alpha to 0. I've also added an On mouse over effect, but I don't think that has anything to do with this.

Bug in flex 4, with truncating the link button and labels
hey guys.. so my application has a popupanchor, and in that popup anchor i have multiple linkbuttons... and for some reason no matter what i try, it truncates all the link buttons, as well as the labels on accordions.
i know that the button is not in a group with small width... ive also tried wrapping the link button in a group with a width of 500, and still the link button gets truncated...
any ideas on how to fix this problem??

Class display objects visible=false
Hi there,
I have an app that displays XML as items. I am taking the createLayout() and trying to create a class that i can call from my custom component rather than having tons of code in the same file. The issue i am having is that when i call it, and run/debug, the display objects (text,links,date..) all have their visible property set to false. Where I instantiate the class. List collection is an XMLListCollection which contains XML data.

createLayout = new CreateLayout(listCollection);container is from the Vbox class so I don't see that here and there might be something in there that is causing some problem.
But I don't think that is the only problem. I think this seems like the same problem that you have going in your other post.
I don't see anyplace that you addChild your CreateLayout instance. container has been added to your CreateLayout instance, but where is the CreateLayout instance added to some other display list.
Also it looks like almost everything you add to canvas is set to be invisible. So without knowing what is in a Canvas instance it is hard to know what would show up anyways. -

In my application i am facing a different issue.. I placed a link button it should link to GRPO so i gave its linked object as 20. given the text field id as linkTo
now when i give some vale in text field and click on link button it is opening GRPO form but the document number is not same what i gave in the text box.
when i tried by entering the value in text what i have sen in GRPO when i click on it. now this time it trows an error that the entry does mot exist..
what is wrong with this ,,

the udo object type is not working. To get the drill down functionality you have to use the item-object (4) and catch the matrix link pressed event and search the udo by your own logic.

How ever, if you want to "disable" it what ever reason, use the "Visible" property. With it you will erease it from the screen.
