Link Resolution Error

Hello Linux Guru's
I am new to linux. I accidently set my screen resolution to 1600 X {some number} - which is out of range from my monitor. Now I am unable boot in linux any more. Any suggestions of how i can revert the setting, so I start using/learning linux again.

When you're confident the machine has finished booting, hit ctrl-alt-F1
That should get you a text login.
If you have xconfig (http://rpmfind.net/linux/rpm2html/search.php?query=xconfig) installed, use that to configure xwindows. It's a handy tool :)
If you don't have xconfig then try the following:
su -
mv /etc/X11/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf.old
X -configure
cp xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf
shutdown -r now
That should give you a fresh hardware-probed xorg.conf to work with and should reboot back to the X display that you were hoping to see.

I am on a field campaign with my Labview-controlled instrument. I wanted to make a small change to the code and build it again for uploading to a cFP-2020 Fieldpoint but the application builder stopped with the following error message:
Error 7 occurred at ABAPI Dist Report Read Link Info Error.vi -> ABAPI Dist Cmp Settings to Disk Hier.vi -> ABAPI Get Settings From File2.vi -> ABAPI Get Settings From File.vi -> RTBEP_Invoke_Build_Engine.vi -> RTBUIP_Build_Invoke.vi -> RTBUIP_Build_Invoke.vi.ProxyCaller
This is another computer than the one I used in the lab previously so might have forgotten to install something. I just copied the whole application folder with project file and subfolders
to the Laptop I am using now. Labview version should be the same though (8.20).
Any suggestions?

This error is usually found when a subVI or a support file (DLL, custom control, etc)
isn't able to be found by the application builder. Possible reasons
for this could include subVIs no longer located in their original
paths and in need to be relinked, a DLL that isn't included in the build,
and many other possibilities.
You wrote that you copied the project from another PC, so it is very possible that some file went missing. Are all VIs in your project executable?
You could try to mass compile all the VIs in your project and see if that helps.

Broken images links and error in line/column

HI!
I am the proud owner of the Adobe Creative Suite 4 (Web Premium) software package and am learning Web Design through the University of Phoenix online (I am a disabled veteran going for my BA in IT)--I am trying to meet my final requirements for the individual assignment (creating a personal 3-page website), but can't get the images to show up and now get an error when trying to re-create the home page to add pages to the menu I added (with Home, Feedback Form, etc. links)--the error says:
"There is an error at line 64, column 83 (absolute position 3340) [file location]: TemplateBeginEditable tag inside editable region"
I have searched this and other forums and they keep saying I don't have a proper closing tag, but I can't figure out where it is and need help with that and why my images are not showing up (broken) when I post my files in class for grading.
I have been using the following link for help so far during my design:

Ejb ref resolution error

Dear all,
I try to set up a simple ejb environment. I managed to run the converter example from the JEE tutorial bundle in the NetBeans / Glassfish environment.
Then I tried to write a standalone java client. The code consists in essential of the statements

Error NtpClient was unable to set a manual peer. DNS resolution error When using IP address.

We have been migarting to some new DCs. one of the new DCs now has all the master roles call it DC01.
when I try and sync/setup NTP on this server as the the authoritive NTP in the doamin I get:
NtpClient was unable to set a manual peer to use as a time source because of DNS resolution error on '”10.*.*.*,0x1”'. NtpClient will try again in 15 minutes and double the reattempt interval thereafter. The error was: No such host is known. (0x80072AF9)
I am using the following commands to set NTP up on the server.
>net stop w32time
>w32tm /config /syncfromflags:manual /manualpeerlist:"10.*.*.*,0x1"
>w32tm /config /reliable:yes
>net start w32time.
Is anyone aware of what the issue could be?
Ps one of the old dc can still sync to this site manually if tried.

What have you tried? Often, this happens when a linked file is open...perhaps at the hands of another user across a network where you can't see. If that's not the case, and you're sure you don't have it open, it's still possible your system just thinks it's open. Reboot the computer and try again.

Cannot process links - int error: bad record index

Opening a publication I have recently been working on suddenly fails with "Cannot process publication's links - Internal error - bad record index".
And then Pagemaker dies. Is there anyway to get this publication back? Hours of work.
Only possibly anomaly I see is that the .pmd file was moved from one computer to another before this started happening, but we do this all the time in our shop. As a matter of fact it was moved on a memory stick, not as an email attachment or some less reliable means. The version on the stick fails the same way.

Well that sounds close, but I (1) don't have any graphics on master pages, and (2) never performed a "diagnostic recomposition", and (3) can't do anything anyway since pagemaker crashes immediately after issuing the error message about the links.

Link Time error with queue STL

Link (dyld) error - non boot safari 3.2.1

Hi, this is on tiger.11, G4. After working fine forever, last night this happened, see subject. I didn't install anything relevant, afaik. I do periodically install things like thunderbird nightlies, but have been doing this forever too, I don't think related. Now, when I click on safari icon, this message [I added the brackets] appears instead of safari 3.2.1 app:

I ran OnyX x1 on 1st crash. Repaired permissions x2, not counting that OnyX does that too. (Do I need to boot from DVD & repair from there in this case?) I used 3rd party "delete app" to remove all hidden & related files (supposedly) as well. Nothing worked, still crash after install of fresh safari downloaded direct from apple downloads (yes, I downloaded the tiger version). Is the library for "syndication" something that has to be reinstalled from DVD & how did this get corrupted if that's the problem? Are some hard or soft links missing & how did that happen (if it did)? It seems absurd to have to do an archive & install just to get safari back.
So I don't have a working safari now. Please advise. Thank you.

It's possible something you added to the system overrode or deleted one of the system files, which is triggering the error.
Do you have a backup of your system? If you do, navigate to this location via the Finder: /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/SyndicationUI.framework/Versions/A Inside that folder, move the SyndicationUI file to the same location in your current HD.
The alternative is to reinstall the Operating System, using Archive and Install Option, or if you live near an Apple Store someone at the Genius Bar will help you recover from the crash.

Secure name resolution error

Hi,
I'm having trouble connecting to a CalDAV server with iCal in Leopard (5.1.4). Connection is using SSL (https). I get the message "Unexpected secure name resolution error (code -9800)".
Using safari on the same URL works fine and the certificate seems to be correct and trusted.
Any ideas on what the precise cause is? What could be done to fix the situation? What -9800 is exactly? What could be done to investiage further?

Hi idea tech,
I started getting these when SSL was enabled on the iCal server using the default certificate. I would suggest either buying a proper signed certificate (which I believe from reading the forums solves it), disabling SSL on the server, or explicitly setting the Account URL to use the normal http port rather than the https port. Ie:
+http://yourserver.domain.com:8008/principals/users/youruser/+
not
+https://yourserver.domain.com:8443/principals/users/youruser/+
Suggest just turning it off if that's an option. (It's simplest and restores auto URL functionality too...) hope that helps...

I have configured RAC 10gR2. I tested several sessions from SQL*Plus 10g using the below service name and sessions were well balanced between two nodes.
