Link system in URL iview

Hi all,
I create a system "Lotus" and i want to link this system in an URL Iview, the system don't appear in the list box system. Can you tell me how to have my system in the list.

Hello all,
I've created a System and a System alias to connect a Note Webmail. Everything is fine but when I create a URL iView, as I've read on SAP procedure, I cannot find any System alias on System combobox.
Does anybody knows why, when you edit an URL iView object, there's nothing on System combobox? I've configured a lot of System alias and gave all the permissions to the alias.

Hi Andre,
I tested it using Yahoo Mail and the Yahoo alias is being showed in the URL iView.
The problem can be located in the system permissions. Have you checked this issue ?
I'm getting some strange problems with this new way to implement sso to web app. The old one (appintegrator) seems to work better.

System dependent URL iView

Hi All
I want to create an iView where the URL will be different depending on the system
Could you please explain how I can acheive this
E.g.
Dev URL = URLdev.com
QA URL = QASurl.com
Prod URL = ProdURL.com
Do I need to hardcode it on every system or is there any other way?

Thanks for u r reply, i have tried with application integrator but there is a problem with usermapping.
now what i have done is created HTTP System based on this system created URL iView,in application parameters username and password as MappedUser and MappedPassword every thing is working fine. user logged in automatically when he logged into portal.
there are tabs ,links in application .when i click on tabs or links it is assking to enter username and password of the application.
did i do any thing wrong in creating HTTP system or URL iView,
what are the necessary properties should be given.

BSP vs URL iview

One can access a BSP application using an URL iview from portal.
I would like to know when does one use a BSP iview(application/alias)
What are the contrasts/comparisions.?

BSP is a application specific iView. The Parameters which you give are Start Page.
URL iView is a generic iView which we can use to access URL in the web in the Portal.
If you have access to Portal you can create both the iViews and if you can see the properties of each you will see a lot of changes like the System, Style Sheet etc.
to conclude BSP iView is created for the BSP applications which we write in our R/3 system. and URL iView is for the external web URL's which we would like to have it in Portal.

User Credential to the URL IView

Hi,
I'm trying to provide the link to the external site in our company website. To achieve this I have created the URL IView and provided that external link in the URL IView.
Now, to access the external site all the users should use the same credentials which I have to pass to the URL IView. could you please let me know how can I pass the user credentials to the URL IView? I have tried to use the GET method and pass the credentials still it's not working.
Any ideas to achieve this would be of great help!

URL iView - ERROR Invalid URL parameter - sap-ext-sid - HTTPS link

Dear Experts,
I have an uregent issue. I have configured an url iview, the link is HTTPS. it is not working from the portal. the system automatically concatenates some URL parameters like sap-ext-sid , sap-wd-finish-rendering.
Similar way i have configure some other links, they are all working without issue. But other links are just HTTP.
Could you please give a me clue to fix this issue.

Try opening the URL iVIew in a new page by providing the property "Open the page in New Window" instead of the same window. Are you trying to integrate WebDynpro ABAP iViews?

URL iView doesn't open link in new window

Hi All,
I'm have an URL iView that I want to display in the portal content area but whenever the user clicks on a hyperlink on that iView launch a new window for the link.
I've tried using the 'Open iView links in new window' without any success. Is this supposed to work or this property is for another purpose...? Can someone point me to a solution.

I checked what you said. I've already looked at that page but didn't saw that important disclaimer. My problem was that I didn't had a captured area-URL iView but a full page-URL iView as it says:
+These properties are relevant in the following instances only:
§ The iView content is displayed in its source format. The rendering type must be defined as Keep Source Formatting. See Defining the Look and Feel of the iView Content.
§ The iView content displays a captured area, and not the entire Web page. See Selecting the Capture Area.+
I only had to change the 'Open iView links in new window' to Yes after capturing a part of my page and it started working.

System not listed in url iview property

I am creating an URL iview. In property editor of the URL iview I cannot see not even one system listed. I checked the system, its permission, it does have end user permission.
Can anyone help me to view the system in the url iview property.

I wanted to create a URL iview. I would also like to specify the System for the url iview. But when I go to the URL iview property editor, when I select the dropdown list next to system, there are no systems listed.
Please explain me how to make the system available for the url iview.

Hi,
Can you detail your requirement. URL iviews are iviews in which you can set any URL and the iview will connect directly to it. So, you cannot force set the URL iview to use a System.
I guess you are trying to call some BW report. For this you can try to create an iview based on component
com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap and then select the application. In this iview you should be able to specify the system.

Dynamically change URL iView link

Hi,
I have a requirement like this:
Button1 would open an external link from Portqal
Button2 would open a KM document from KM
Button3 would open a KM folder
In future the link type of these button can change.
These external link, KM document location and KM folder location are read from a properties file and are subject to change.
Here is my Approach
I have created a separate URL iViews for testing purpose and tested that with URL iView, it is possible to open:
External link in the format of http://www.<link>.com
KM Folder in the format /irj/go/km/navigation/documents/..../<Destination Folder> , &
KM document in the format /irj/go/km/docs/documents/..../<Destination File>
I have now created a single URL iView pointing to a default URL(google), and marked the URL iView parameter Forced URL - Enabled as True
The plan is to use this single iView for invoking any type of links - be it external, KM Folder or KM document
In WebDynpro, I have tried using the following code to call this iView:

Link local exe file into URL iview

Hi,
I am trying to integrate an VB application ( basically it is a .exe file installed in local path ) through a url iview . The exe will reside on every client machines and the path I have given is like 'file://c:/Program Files/myfolder/test.exe'
But when I access this application , I am getting an error icon in the left bottom of the IE and when I clicked that icon , it is giving an 'Access Denied Error 'message
It might be some IE security settings which we need to do. I am not able to find what it is.

I dont know if SAP provides any iview that support this. However you can do it with javascript and shell commands by follow this tutorial.

SSO to BW reports via URL iView

Hi all,
I've searched the forum on this but could not get a clear guide. Here's my scenario:
1. We use Windows logon credentials to sign on to the Enterprise Portal
2. Once signed in, authorized users load a URL iView.
3. The iView contains URL links to SAP BW reports.
4. Based on user's role, they can access only certain reports.(Available report URLs will be different)
5. User clicks on the link and opens another Internet Explorer window to show the BW report <b>without signing on</b> again.
Key question: How do we incorporate the SAP Logon Ticket into the URL and how do we configure BW server to accept SSO based on this URL?

Hi Kok,
The first step is you need to create a system object under system administration --> system configuration --> system landscape. Expand the portal_content. Right click the folder and create a new folder. Then right click on the folder to create a new system. This system object should point towards the BW system. You need to give the details of the BW server. The right click the system object and create an alias.
If you are using BW 3.5, you need to follow the 13 steps given under img. If BW version < 3.5 then you have to export the portal ticket to BW and BW ticket to EP.

Difference: SAP BW Report iview - Query iView - URL iView

I want to show BW reports on the portal. Can anybody suggest me the different ways of doing it ? And also let me know about checklist of steps that need to be performed.
Can anybody tell me the difference between showing BW reports through URL iviews, showing reports through Query iView and showing reports through SAP BW Report iView ?
Which one can i use for showing BW reports taking into consideration the implementation of SSO between the two? I tried the URL iView (using the Web URL of reports generated by BW) but it asks for Username/password. Is that the problem with SSO. How can i check if SSO parameters have been set or not. I have imported the verify.der to BW System and added that to ACL. Is there anything else which is required?

Hi Manoj,
I feel BW report iview will solve your problem. You can create a query sting in BW query designer and give the same in BW query string text area while creating BW report iview.
In the case of an url iview you are just giving a URL link of the BW report (this will ask for username/password).
But, in the case of a BW report iview you can view the required query as an iview (user mapping can be successfully done in this case) You should give fully qualified domain name in Was server option while creating the system.
While using the logon ticket Login id of both the system (ie BW and Portal) should be the same.
