I want to create links that will go to a specific page in a
pdg file does anyone know how i do this

I assume you mean a PDF file? If yes, you can do this. You
would have to
first add bookmarks to the desired locations in the PDF, then
link to the
bookmarks as a named anchor.

I working in Flash CS3 and I am creating an interactive CD. I
would like to be able to link from Flash to a specific page in a
pdf file that is stored locally. From what I understand, it can't
be done. I was wondering if anybody had a work around.

Hi all,
We have some large PDFs that we currently store on an apache server. Because of the number of pages (over 33,000) we created sort of an index page using html that users could quickly search in and then select a name that is a link to the correct page in the PDF. This worked like a charm. We are working to move the old website that was on the apache server into Vibe. I haven't been able to get the setup we have for the large PDFs to transfer into Vibe as the PDF will open using the permalink, but the PDF just opens to its first page. Following is an example of the link from the apache server.
http://www/Notices/2012/MVCTax201205....PDF#page=1905
We just took the permalink and added the #page=1905 to it. As indicated, it opens the PDF, but only to the first page.
Does anyone know of some way to make this work, or is it likely to be impossible within the constraints of Vibe? I would really like to just be able to search the PDF using Vibe's indexing, but it appears either size or format is an issue. Any other thoughts on how this could be accomplished would be appreciated as well.

You should adapt your settings for lucene.max.fieldlength,

How do I send a link or page with Windows 7

In Vista in was able to send a link or page from the file button on top, now I do not have this option. I don't know where to find this option or how to do this?

There is an option to "Send Link..." in the File menu. Firefox does not have a built-in send page by email option.

Web links open black page and no file is downloaded

Problem started under Lion, and continues under Mountain Lion: When I click on a Download link, the path of the file displays in the address field and the page goes black, but no file is downloaded. On links that allow it (not from the Flash Player, Skype, Mozilla, or Chrome download pages, for example), I can control-click to download a file. Under the Downloads button, if you erase the list, the button disappears. Before I had tried to download via control-click, that button wouldn't appear, not even among the toolbar customization options. I have upgraded to Mountain Lion, re-installed Mountain Lion, to no effect. Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

I notice where there is no page name (e.g., home page with just a slash), Firefox does grab the page title. If there is a way to compel this behavior for all pages, I don't recall reading about it.
If further research is unavailing, you can submit it as a suggestion. The traditional place for "non-bug feedback" is http://hendrix.mozilla.org/ but there probably are other places as well.

Scanning multiple pages to one file

I have a C310a All in One printer/scanner. My computer uses OS X 10.9 and all the drivers are updated. Is there a way to scan multiple pages to one file. I have tried the three methods mentioned in the HP bulletin for Mavericks but I can only scan one page to one file extension.

I understand you are looking to do a multiple page scan and save it as one file. I will do my best to help! The full driver for the C310a is not available with Mavericks. In having said that, you can try using Image Capture to scan multi-page documents.

How to scale down number of pages in ps files

I am having ps files that are havings 4 to 8 pages per file. Each page may contain just 5-6 lines and therefore though the content in total is not too much but there is unnecessay paper wastage.
Is it possible to make some changes in code inside ps files throgh notepad so that the content may be restricted to lesser number of pages. I am having programing skill in vfp,need guidance that what changes i need to do in ps script and where.

Pdf files in search results - open the properties paga instead the file

Hi,
We have 2010 search results page for searching files. When the search result is a pdf - the icon shown is not pdf icon and when click the file name it opens the properties page instead the file itself. What should be set? thanks a lot

It looks like you didn't register PDF file type in your search service application.
Go to Central Administration->Manage Service Application. Click on the name of your search service application and check file types (link in the left column)

Nevermind I figured it out, I left out the equal sign before
the page number.

I have a web page in dreamweaver that contains a Table of
Contentsd jpg file. I am using hotspots to link to an adobe pdf
file. I thought the folloing was the url to go to a particular
page..

but it doesn't work now. I am sure the syntax is just wrong,
but I can't seem to find the combo to pull up the right topic in
the help files. Can anyone tell me what is wrong?

Also, some web page links are failing except that some will work if i use right-click with open in new tab. just updated ffx to 3.6.13, then updated java per mozilla notification (plugin checker)

Thanks...that was one of the things I first tried. I did a save as another document.
I also resized the image in PS so it would be at 100% of size, figuring that would help and I made the image box's background white instead of none, but nothing so far.
It almosat seems like it is coming from the origianl template file?

New page unexpectedly loses ability to go BACK to previous page after clicking on a link in page (not consistent), why?

Firefox 4.0 Vista 32 bit
I will have a tab open, and click on a link, new page loads. The Back and Forward buttons do not work. Usually it shows in history (unless I opened too many pages before clicking on link). This has happened several times.
It is not consistent - one time I used search bar and opened a Yahoo search page - clicked on search link and when I wanted to go back to look at another search link from the previous page- page would not load (BACK button dead). I clinked search again, clicked on another link and that time it allowed me to return to the previous page???
I am about ready to go back to previous version.

It's a good idea to try disabling Flash completely and see whether the problem continues. If it does, then my guess is incorrect. To test that, open this tab:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > Plugins category
Here you can locate Shockwave Flash and use the Disable button. Keep this tab open for easy access when doing your test.

Printing web page to pdf file using Acrobat Standard 9

When I print a web page to a pdf file, the text in the file is mostly garbled. I have no problems in creating pdf files from MS office or other software. I have Windows 7 Home.
Any help will be appreciated.

There were problems with IE9 on it's initial release and that may be what you are seeing if that is the browser (you did not indicate the browser and that may be a key). If you have a different browser you might try that one with the same pages to see if it browser related.
By saying garbled it sounds like the fonts did not make it or you have selected "Use Local Fonts" in Acrobat. Try checking the latter first. Then check if the fonts are embedded in the PDF by checking the document properties (ctrl-D). If they are not, go back to the browser and select the press or print job options before printing and see if they get embedded and if your problem is resolved.

FrameMaker 11 on "Start New, Linked Web Page" in HTML setup

FrameMaker 11 doesn't let me use certain paragraph tags to save certain FM files into separate HTML files. After I checked the box "Start New, Linked Web Page", that item has a Y in the Reference Pages for new web page, but it was being switched back to N during the process of Save As HTML, right in front me. It worked for some other Paragraph Tags, however. Would someone please tell what I missed? Thanks!!

That's ok. I had the work-around by using the paragraph tag that worked,
so it's working now, although I'm still puzzled about the other tag.
