Link to Purchase URL from my website

Normally apps are purchased by the user downloading the app and clicking the "Get License" button. However, If a user wants to purchase my app from my web site, can I send them to the Adobe Marketplace purchase page for my app?

If so, is there a way to link to this page where I do not have to include the version in the url? It should be smart enough to know what the current version is.

Enabling the download of apps from other web site is a great feature of Melrose: other stores don’t have this feature. To enable download for other websites, it’s best to create an AIR install badge (see http://www.adobe.com/devnet/air/articles/air_badge_install.html) and host it on the website. The AIR install badge will point to the Adobe repository. The great thing about the AIR install badge is it handles both the installation of the AIR runtime and the installation of your app.
You should not direct customers to the purchasing URL (https://buynow.adobe.com/...). This URL is strictly used to enable in-app purchases. It is not meant for the distributing your app on other websites.
Take a look a the AIR install badge process, create the install badge on the website, point the badge to the Melrose app repository, and I think will find you can easily distribute your app on any website.

You have to improve your design. Even if you can find the Coldfusion code, your design will still fall short in 2 ways.
First, it is unreliable, because you're depending on some arbitrary site to be available and up to speed. Secondly, it is aesthetically wrong to be collecting pictures, especially large numbers of them, dynamically from someone else's site. Think of their copyright and bandwidth.
Fortunately, there are simple solutions. First, identify, by eye, the web pages containing the pictures you're interested in. Ask for permission from the owner.
You could indeed use Coldfusion's cfhttp or any other script to download the JPGs, PNGs, and so on. But then, why waste your time re-inventing the wheel? It is infinitely better to use a web crawler !
With most crawlers, you only have to supply the URL of the site, and the file extensions it has to grab (in your case, jpg, png, bmp, and so on).
One click on the button, and you have them reeling in. Automatically. Some crawlers are considerate enough to enable you to adjust the download bandwidth. (We can learn from a million years evolution wisdom. The vampire bat is known to inject a painkiller before sucking!).
Now that you've downloaded the images to your site, the links you display to your users are all yours. You may choose to resize some of the images, display them as you wish, and the issues of reliability and bandwidth are now up to you.

if i purchase osx from the apple website does it give me the option to download and be sent a cd like windows does? or is it dvd only? i might be away from home for a few months where there is no apple store or reseller and it would be nice to be able to download osx after purchase

They send you it on DVD. No downloads are available for retail purchasers.

the only way around this i've found isn't very useful - you
have to put a small xml file on the host server where the page you
want to link to is located. i seriously doubt every site you want
to link to will allow you to put an xml file on their host server
just so you can link to their page. the code in the xml file just
tells flashplayer that the site you are trying to access is safe.
it's called crossdomain.xml
anyone have an answer?

try to open the html locally and (try to) access something on the
internet.
unless your "flash site" is your local computer there is no
security issue. if your local computer is an internet server, you
just need to set the security settings for your local file and give
it permission to access the internet zone.

Purchased music from nokia website,cant set as rin...

I have bought 3 songs from the nokia music website but I am unable to set them as ringtones.When I go into the all songs part in the music menu it doesn't even give me an option to set it a ringtone.But if I go through my profiles and try to change the ringtone it doesnt even work,when i click on the song it says unable to select object.It doesn't even say on their website that the music you buy can't be used as ringtones.

WMA, MP3, AAC, M4A, can all be used as ringtones. Music purchased from the nokia music store can not be used as they are DRM (Digital Rights Management).
Basically you have to buy the specific ringtone, which would cost more than the 80p you paid for the track. Most ringtones cost £2 (around 30 seconds long) and above depending who you buy it from.

If I copy & paste a url from fuzzyyellowballs website, videos cannot be downloaded and converted

I have been trying for some hours to solve the issue.
I have some urls and I am copying the urls and pasting them in anyvideoconverter, in order to download and convert them, so that I have the videos. However, it does not work and I thought that it would have to do with cookies.
The cookies have been enable for this site and I do not know what to do.
Can you please be of assistance ?

I should mention that editors which do not automatically "linkify" a URL usually do have a button on their toolbar to insert a link. Instead of pasting the link directly into the message, you can click in the text where you want the link, click the link button, paste in a little dialog, and then insert that.

Blank window when opening a link/enlarge image etc. from all websites

Whenever I click a link in a web site to open a sub window or enlarge an image or go to another part of the site etc. a new window opens but is always blank.

"Clear the Cache": Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now" 
"Remove the Cookies" from sites that cause problems: Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies" 
 
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes). 
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]] 
 
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears. 
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions. 
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

Link from another website

I am assuming that your web site is hosted by another host, and that you also have a MobileMe account with Apple. If taht's the case, here's what I would do:
1. Create a an iWeb web site with just your Blog page in it, then publish it to MobileMe.
2. Create a "Blog page" in your other web site's navigation menu and link it to your index.html file which iWeb uploaded to MobileMe.
If I'm not mistaken, that ought to work.

If you bookmark the link as favorite you can have an icon on your Safari page. Some websites let you add a icon on your home screen but it's still a link to a website.

When opening a pdf in Firefox from a website, the navigation bar disappears. I would like to copy the URL path to send to staff.

Using Acrobat Pro XI, Windows 7-64, Firefox 25. If I open a PDF from a website link in IE, the PDF opens and I can see the URL path where I can copy it and send to others. Opening the same link in Firefox does not show the URL path. I get the File, Edit menu but no URL.

Is the PDF opening in a separate (popup) window? Sites can alter which bars appear on a popup window, but the address bar should always be visible (that's the default setting). Could you check and make sure that hasn't changed?

(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste '''window_o''' and pause while the list is filtered

1. Because they're using Android or iOS and can't see the Flash container.
2. Because they have Flash Player, but NOT Shockwave, which works for Interactive content like games and links in Flash containers.
3. ActiveX controls are blocking Flash content in IE.
4. Any of about a dozen other things.
As a web desginer since 2003, I can tell you that these days, it's a terrible idea to have Flash content in a website (outside of games that require it). Video should be HTML5. Navigation, content and other links should be HTML, CSS and/or Javascript ONLY, because placing them in a Flash container makes them invisible to literally half of your viewers or more, since SmartPhones can't and don't see Flash, and tablets don't either without special browsers, which may or may not work with embedded links.
