Link to URL from column in report

I still trying to find a way to display a static file on a report page. I have been unsuccessful with using an HTML region using #APP_IMAGES#filename.sh or using the value found in the coulmn: #APP_IMAGES#&P28_SCRIPT.
Now, I've added a link on the column of the report. The column itself contains the URL that I want to go to. For ex. http://sharepoint.bankofamerica.com/sites/GIM2000upgrade/Shared%20Documents/Supporting%20Documents/Scripts/ds_broker_gim.sh
The URL for the Link in the Column Attributes is set to : &SCRIPT_SHAREPOINT_HTML..
When I click on the column, it brings me to the APEX Logon???
I've used this URL in a List Template in a Region on a page as the Target URL and it works fine??
I'm thoroughly confused at this point.
Can anyone offer any assistance with this? It's driving me crazy and holding up any further development I need to get done????

What I want to do is to drill-down to the unix script file. I have upload the file: ds_broker_gim.sh to Static files. I want to be able to display the contents of this file after the drill-down from the ASE_AUTOSYS table.

1. From View Application - select the Application name : CGM
2. Click on the ASE tab bringing you to p.2
3. Click on AUTOSYS tab ( Go to p.30)
4. From the AutoSys Search Select Pulldown - 5. Select 'GIM2_D_DS_CREATEBOKER_UX ' (PS is there a way to do a'smart select to scroll the list as you type?)
6. Click on the column link in Autosys_Script (it should say' /vol01/apps/gim/scripts/ds_broker_gim.sh'
7. Click on the AUTOSYUS_SCRIPT column
8. Brings you to p.28 where I'm various things to get the shared file to display.
Note: I added the field: SCRIPT_FILE to the table AUTOSYS_SCRIPTS as a CLOB. I thought, well If I can't get it via an URL or as a static document- let me try storing the code in a clob field. As you can see, I'm having no success in displaying the ontents of the static file or contents of the column field.
Also note that on P.2, I have include the URL in a List Tmplate : 'Document's. When i click on this, it does go to the URL. You won't be able to use this as it is located in our firewall but at least it work but not what I want.
If you could help me with this, I would be very gratefult to you. I'm ploying away doing this on own and certainly I've got a lot to learn but at the same time I've managed to get quite a bit done.

You can use the following code as per your requirement (this is just an example),
(In this case IR report is in Page#1 and Tabular form is in Page#2),
On Page#1, Create a hidden item (i.e 'P1_ID')
IR Report query as like the below,

URGENT: pass parameters from report to report without usting a link or URL

HI.
I want to send an ID field from a report to a report (like master-detail) and that should be done by pressing the next or previous button. So, not with a LINK or URL link.
Is that possible? I used the wwsto_api_session package in several ways, but no luck so far.

If your requirement is to provide buttons that take the users to another report, you have to do the following:
In your source report (report A), create a form containing a button. Use hidden fields for the parameters you have to pass to the target report (report B).
You'd need to base your report A on a SELECT statement. One of the columns in the SELECT statement can be a string where you actually construct the entire HTML form, something like:
SELECT ...., '<form action=... method=post> ... ' FROM ...Hope this helps.

1)If you have any parameters that needs to be passed to build that dynamicURL, just set a propertyListener on the column attribute and get the value.
2)Then on the af:commandLink action, build your dynamicURL with the required parameters.
3) If you URL is all together a different application which doesn't share your transaction, you can open it as below
In the below code, urlWithParams will be your dynamicURL.

Link column - populating a form from an interactive report?

I have an interactive report which works great. I have now added a link column which leads to a form in my application,
How can I link the records in the interactive report with the form, so when a user clicks on the link column the form is populated with the details of that record from the interactive report?

The easiest way is to create it using wizard when you create a page:
Create Page -> Form -> Form on a Table with Report
The link will be created automaticaly on the base of the table Primary key or Rowid.
Otherwise: On the created Form there should be a page process called similar "Fetch Row from TABLE" (it is automated row fetch process)
There should be defined the primary key Item.
Now you can fill this item in report link attribute:
Link to Page -> your Form
Set the item Name and Item Value parameters:
FORM_ITEM_PK #REPORT_ITEM_PK#
If the Form is based on another table -> just use
Link to Page -> your Form
Set the item Name and Item Value parameters(here you can populate more fields - but there will be good to use some dynamic action instead):
FORM_ITEM_1 #REPORT_ITEM_1#
FORM_ITEM_2 #REPORT_ITEM_5#
FORM_ITEM_3 #REPORT_ITEM_3#

How to create dynamic link which point to a BLOB column in report

I am fighting with the issue for about 2 days.
My purpose is to use Oracle Report Builder to build a report of our employee directory which contains employee's information and also employee's picture. The requirement is that our report is going to generate a html file to our web server. By creating a dynamic hyperlink to the Employee's name in the report output file (the html file generated to our web server), it should then display the corresponding employee's picture which is a BLOB column stored in our oracle database.
I only can create the hyperlink for the employee's name if the link is static, like 'http://www.google.com
But from the Oracle Reports 10g Release2 (10.1.2), about the exmaple 1: Dynamic hyperlink, I refered the link

The link gave he following example shows a value for the Hyperlink property that specifies a link to a destination identified dynamically:

I tried as the same way to want it dynamcially shows the column :EMP_PHTOT, which is one BLOB column, but it was failed.
Anyone knows how to implement this? Any inputs is appreciated!

What exactly is the error messag u are getting ?
If u have a hyperlink which refers to www.oracle.com in ur pdf, does it work ?
I think simple URL from PDF will not retrieve any data from the oracle database since it has to make some database connection.
My suggestion would be whenever request for employee information comes,
extract that picture from blob and put it a virtual folder in the application server.
And from the pdf/report access the URL with reference to the picture...

Error while link from calendar to report

Dear,
Now I try to link from calendar to report. In the SQL Query
step of the calendar build wizard I've input as follows:

Column link - call java script & assign current report column value to item

Hi,
How to call java script and assing current report column value to item?
I have a button column in the report to 'delete' the selected row.
I want to first show dialog box with message 'Are you sure?'. If yes, process to delete
will be executed, else no action.
In order to fire JS, I used Column Link ->Target=URL.
Problem: The alert is showing but I don't know how to pass selected row's primary
key value to process (to delete selected row).
I have a item which can be used to store selected primary key value but don't know how to assign the value
when button pressed.

Problem with download link for a BLOB Column in a "Classic report"

I am having a problem where I cannot make a download link for a blob column function in a "classic" (non-interactive) report. I went through the tutorial on this topic and it was great help it working out the minor bugs, but I get a 404 error (apex_util.get_BLOB not found). For testing purposes I went ahead and created a an identical report on the same page that is an "Interactive report" and it works like a charm. Same query, same BLOB formatting Mask, pulling data from the same table. So, it really doesn't seem like an issue with the grants, since both reports should be executing as the same user.
I know it sounds like the obvious answer is to just go with the interactive report and my problem is solved, but the rest of this site uses classic reports, and I don't need the sort features of an interactive report, and the slightly different style of the the report really stands out even if I turn off all the bells and whistles. I don't want to change the css to make them look identical, I just want a regular report to work.

I eventually found another post: APEX_UTIL.GET_BLOB was not found on this server
In this post there is the suggestion of putting "dbms_lob.getlength("var")" after the date field in your select. So I changed my query to have it at the end, and now my format mask (DOWNLOAD:table_name:ATTACHED_FILE:FILE_ID::FILE_MIME_TYPE:FILE_NAME:::attachment:Download) works like a charm, in a classic report.

Partial Refresh from column link

Hello,
I am working on a page with two classic reports.
Report A is always displayed and has a column link which sets item Z with a value from a column in report A and then redirects the page to itself.
Report B uses item Z in his where clause and is only shown when Z is filled. This all works fine.
However I want to use Partial Page Refresh to only reload Report B instead of the whole page.
Because report A is a heavy report it can't and it won't get lighter.
So my question is how does this partial page refresh stuff work and does it improve preformance?
I think it would help if Ii don't have to load report A everytime I reload Report B.

Linking from Hand Built Report to a Metric Collection for a Target System

I have some hand-authored reports that I would like to link into metrics details for the target system I've created the report for.
This would eliminate some heavy redundancy of data that I've put into the reports.
How does one create this type of link? There seems to be two primary interfaces, one where I point at a report, a second where I construct a URL and put it in the table (most likely hidden). This latter, I think, is what I want. And as I'm going into the metric details for a specific metric, can I consider the URL a "contracted" interface that won't break? For example:
/em/console/metrics/metricData?type=sun_storage_7000&target=isv-7110h&metric=LogicalInformation
I can assemble the above URL from mgmt@metric_current target_name and target_type and then hardcode the metric I want to go to and I will be good for all of eternity (at least 10.2.0.2 to 10.2.0.5)?

How to hide the URL path on click of an link to URL element,from user

I have an link to URL element, on click of the link it opens the specified url in a new window. But in new window the user is able to see the entire URL path. I want to hide this path from the user. Can any one please suggest me how to do it.
