Linking Flash to Webpages

Hey, I'm working with Flash CS4 / ActionScript 3.0
I just wanted to know how to link my finished flash ad to its corresponding webpage.
-->Click anywhere on the banner and it links you to...youtube or whatever :]

Create an invisible button the size of the ad and place it on a layer above everything else. Then assign it an instance name via the properties panel and add some code for it in the timeline (different layer but same frame). Let's say you name it btn...

Linking flash slideshow into HTML?

Please excuse me if this is a very "noobish" question, but is it possible to make a flash slideshow using 4 pictures,
but have each picture linked to a webpage? A family friend just got me a copy of Flash Pro CS6 through his company but I have genuinely zero experience with flash (Just HTML and CSS).
I set all 4 images to the same size. I realize I could do this in HTML, I'd just rather get some flash practice in.

Yes, you can create the images as objects and assign code to them to have them open html pages. If you are using Actionscript 3 you want to look into using the navigateToURL() function for linking to web pages.

Linking flash buttons to website using div sections

Ok, I am a total Newbie at Flash and Dreamweaver and I am
having serious issues linking flash the flash buttons from my
navigation bar to the main frame on my webpage. I have the buttons
working, and they do link to a page, just they do not link to the
frame, instead they load the page as a full page itself.
I am using Dreamweaver and a website template I found online.
I believe the problem to why it is not working is because this
template doesn't seem to be using frames, and I can not find the
name of the frame to reference in the flash button actions. This
template is using a lot of <div> tags to separate the
sections in the index file.
Does anyone out there know how to link flash button actions
to open a page in a specific div section? Also, how can I make sure
that it is these div tags that are creating the frames, and how to
find out what each section is called? (I'm new to dreamweaver as
well)
This is my first post and last resort, forums don't fail me

How to link flash animations in dreamweaver 8

Hey everyone i have been trying to learn dreamweaver 8, flash
8, and others in a short time. My question is,
I am trying to create a website in dreamweaver 8 but i am
having trouble making a link to another page of the site out of the
flash animation once it's done. I can't find a option for that
anywhere, I was able to link the table in which the animation sits
but it does nothing. For now i just have the word ENTER below the
animation so the rest of the site can be viewed.

I have spent days trying to figure this out and being the
typical man i have finally broken down and am askin for help.

HTML cannot link Flash.
If you want links in Flash, you will have to edit the Flash
file's
actionscript and add the links there.

How do I get firefox to open a new window when i click on a link in a webpage ?

When I click on a link in a webpage in Firefox, generally it opens the new page in the window i am in (though some times it does not). How do I get it to open a new window (or tab) each time I click a link.
For example, on www.bbc.co.uk if I click on a link, the new page opens in the same window, if I then click another link in the new window, again, it opens in the same window. To get back to the original window, I have to use the back button twice. Surely there is a setting so that all 3 windows can be open on separate tabs or separate windows.
I have been to the tabs window in options, but doesn't seem to make a difference.

Open link/bookmark in new tab in same window:
*Middle-click (press the mouse scroll wheel) the link
*Ctrl+left click the link
*right-click the link, choose "Open Link in New Tab"
Open link/bookmark in new window:
* Shift+Enter on the link

I use aol mail, and I want to change my mailto: to aol. Firefox won't let me do that. When I click on an email link in a webpage, my computer goes nuts.

When I click on an email link on a webpage, my computer goes crazy. (Please note that links to other websites are fine.) My computer seems to want to link me to Internet Explorer, which I don't use often. The computer starts running very fast and hot. Sometimes, I get a multitude of identical error messages from Explorer, and it is often hard to delete them!
I thought maybe I could solve this by changing my mailto: client, but there is no link for Aol. Please help!

PS: Why am I still on AOL? I still use the first email address I got many years ago. Friends and clients know my email and use it to contact me. I don't want to change it.

I tried to follow the instructions, but it didn't work. There are 10 mimeTypes.rdf files on my computer!
I tried to follow the website instructions of
Tools -> Options -> Content / File Types -> Manage
but once I get to Content I am stuck. No Manage button. (there is nothing that says File Types)
What do you suggest?

How to print all links in a webpage. IE has had this for over 10 yrs.

This has been an option in IE since day 1, but I do not see any way to have Firefox print all links in a web page.

Firefox Has an add-on called Download them all which will enable you to print all links in a webpage. Here is the link to the add-on:

Why can't I use the tab key to highlight links on a webpage?

In previous versions of FF and in other browsers, I can use the tab key to navigate through all the links on a webpage - I can't seem to do this with FF5, the tab key will only highlight the address bar, search bar, and any form fields within a webpage.
Using the tab key to navigate through links on a page is an accessibility feature, and I often use it to show hidden skip links at the top of a webpage for users who prefer to use the keyboard over a mouse and for assistive technologies.
Is this something that can be turned back on in preferences? Or is there a reason why it was removed from this version?

It can be fixed in Mac OS X Tiger preferences (Keyboard -> "all controls") or try a ctr-F7

Can an object link to a webpage? PDF

Is there some way to make an object or box link to a webpage? Say after exported to PDF, the viewer can clink on an object and it will send information to a certain website.
I have seen a PDF doc (a form to fill out) on the web with a button on the bottom of the PDF page that says "click here to submit form". Is there a way to do this in InDesign???

Just to clarify:
You can create a button in InDesign to go to a url. However, simply going to a url is not enough to submit a form. You will have to modify the bahavior of the button in Acrobat to do what you want.

What code do you use to link flash pages in a flash website?
Anything will help!!

Nate, the first thing to do would be some basic reading on
publishing Flash documents (i.e. "converting from FLA to SWF").
Start with the Live Docs here:

This will help you in producing the SWF file that you can
then place in your HTML template using Dreamweaver.

How is "linked from these webpages" determined?

I'm trying to write an automator workflow that will scrape images but it's not working.
Should be straight forward as the html has a bunch of <img tags that reference another site
now is that "on these webpages" or "linked from these webpages"
these arent hrefs which is what I'd expect the later to be but you never know how this is determined.
needless to say neither approach is working

Well in my case it would appear there's something wrong with the actual scraping since View results shows {} for the image urls returned when either linked or this page is selected.
So now i'm screwed because I have no other way to diagnose the problem ie. why the <img elements are being missed by the action.

The iPad doesn't support been mounted as a drive - it will only show in Finder if you have photos on it that were taken with it, copied to it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites.
You can copy content to/from your iPad's apps either via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc. - whatever the apps that you have on the iPad support. The iPad doesn't have a file system like a 'normal' computer, everything has to be stored with an app.

I have many pages with old object tags embedding flash movies. every time i open thse pages in dw cs3, it wants to convert them and says it will create the 2 .js files ac_activex.js and ac_runactivecontent.js The runactive file does reside in the scripts folder, but the other one is always missing. I finally downloaded it from a website and copied it to the scripts folder, the flash movie is still not shown by the browser. I can run the flash movie by linking to it directly, but can't get it to run from a webpage--at least not unless I use the old pre cs3 dw html page.
