Linking sheets and aut populating in a schedule of rates
hi all
i am currently writing a schedule of rates and im drawing a blank. i have sheets that hold all of my data ( 13 sheets in total) what i need is to have my analysis sheet to auto populate with data as i enter it in the main.
the data sheets have columns from A to L and all are needed.
I need column B, C, D, E, F, H, J, L, N, P, R and T to auto populate on the analysis sheet from the data sheets. But I need them only to do this on the rows when a figure to put into column C on the data sheets.

No seperate screen available for BA set up.
Follow the IMG, enterprsie structure, define and assign set ups.
Assign to SO / Plant /
Create cost elements and assign cost centers for each business areas.
Create clearing accounts for readjustments in BS and PL, and execute BA pl and bs adjustment programs for taxes, GRIR and some accounts, where BA is not populated.
Now you would get seperate BS for each BA

Abhijit WalkeIt is a misconception that Business Areas are not recommended by SAP.
Business Areas and Profit Centres serve two different purposes and Profit Centres are NOT a replacement for BAs nor vice-versa.
We have just implemented ECC 6.0 using Business Areas and there was no indication at any stage neither from SAP nor its consultants that BAs will not be supported. There is no SAP written document that these will not be supported and if there is, I would be interested to look at it.

Link sound and video in source monitor
Hi,
I'm using CS3. I have a mpeg video clip and a wav sound file on the timeline. The video / audio is not multiplexed. They are linked on the timeline. What I'd like to do is link the video and audio and go into the source monitor with the material.. so I can edit subclips etc from source monitor and put into a new video layer on timeline.
When I put both video and soundfile into source panel , edit video, and drag onto timeline only the video goes to timeline.
Is there a way to link them in the source monitor so both video and sound can be edited to timeiline?

I feel your pain. Many years ago, my cousin came to me to design a Web site for her trout ranch. Fine, no problem. I sent her the normal assignment list of questions: audience, their specific demographic, intent of Web site, history, services, etc., etc. Never got a thing back, but tons of e-mails on her ideas on how the site should look and the sites that it should link to. "OK, those are useful bits of info, but lets get back to the questions. I need those first." More sites to link to, and a couple of shreds of paper with ideas. "What's that on the bar napkins?" "Oh, that's the history of the ranch." I traveled to her ranch and shot for several days, and sent the select images on DVD for her to do a final edit. She sent those to Orvis, to use in a calender, without even credits! Luckily, I had not sent the chromes. She contacted me and asked if I had more stock shots, as Orvis wanted to save money on having someone shoot for them... Uh, not quite.
Finally got some useful ideas, and did a complete layout of the site. I kept pressing for the "Who We Are" material, and got more napkins and backs of envelopes with some real Joycean writings. I took all of that info to a copywriter friend, who owed me for some photoshoots. He worked for a few weeks, e-mailing me lists of questions. I FWD'ed those to cousin, and never got a reply. When he was done, I sent the copy to her - not even close. I asked her to write it all down in a TXT, or DOC file and send it to me. A few weeks later, I got legal sheet of lined paper with words that would have made Kafka ponder.
Still, I plugged along, and sent the complete layout. "Where's the canoe rental?" "No one ever mentioned canoe rentals." "Where's the horse boarding?" "What horse boarding? When did that get added?" On it went. I finally managed to do a mock-up of the site, which was now about 60 pages, and linked to over 300 sites around the globe. Well, now there was an espresso stand on the highway, a dog boarding concession and a half-dozen other additions. Plus, the interiors of all of the rooms had been redone, since I shot them. I built the changes in Photoshop, and "redecorated" each room, per the descriptions of those decorations.
Even then, the Who We Are was not right, and incomplete. After four months of work, I issued an ultimatum - I am done, until you get me the info requested in that first form, with a BTW - here's another copy. [Sounds a bit like Harm's 5th request for necessary info.]
A month elapsed, and then I got an e-mail. A friend of a friend had designed a wonderful site for her in trade-out. I went to the URL. It was a two pager with zero links to anything. It did have a Who We Are, but it read like Lawrence Ferlinghetti.
Next e-mail was "would you be my Webmaster and update my site weekly?" My answer was that because I was so busy, I was not the right person for that job. I taught her Acrobat, and did add a few PDF pages for her, but that was it.
In the end, it was hard labor and little fun. The site was passable, but nothing like she stated was necessary. I do not know if she ever updated any of the PDF's, but highly doubt it. I never even got a thank you note from Orvis either. Loads of fun. Remember my comment in another thread on the "Three Reasons for Taking an Assignment?" Could have been fun, but it was not.
I wish you luck, as I have "been there - done that," and it ain't no fun.

How can I share autocomplete lists between sheets and/or files?
I'm drafting up a P&L spreadsheet in which I keep lists of categories, vendors, etc. I'd like to keep separate sheets for each month; the problem is that once I start a new sheet, Numbers seems to "forget" the vendor names, and I have to reenter the entire name again instead of the first three letters or so... I think for obvious reasons I don't want to put a whole year of order records on a single sheet ;-)
Is there a way to preserve or export lists of field values so that they can be shared between sheets (or even files?)Appreciate the answer Wayne, although it wasn't the one I wanted to read... I had already embedded a hidden list in *every* table in each sheet; needless to say it didn't improve the performance one bit.
Turns out that the lists aren't shared between tables either (same heading, same column) that I used to create expandable categories. Would be a nice feature to recognize a column heading and propagate the autocomplete lists, and maybe even be able to link these across tables, sheets *and* files!
Probably too late for iWork '12 ('13, '14?) , but I filed an enhancement request to be able to refer to "file foo, sheet C, table 3" column contents.

I have to create the balance sheet report,for this i have to use datasource 0FI_GL_10 according to SAP but there is no data coming from R3 to this datasource , hence i am using 0FI_GL_6 ,for GL transaction data.
for GL line item data i am using 0FI_GL_4.

In Business Content there are virtual cubes 0FIGL_VC1 and 0FIGL_VC2 how can i use these cubes as i am not using standard basic cubes 0FIGL_C10 AND 0FIGL_C01 and i am also not using the datasource 0FI_GL_10.
I need this very urgently to get this report.

Steps-1)Load 0FI_GL_C10 cube from R/3
2)R-Click cube 0FI_GL_R10 and select option "Activate direct access" since its remote cube as otherwise you wont be able to receive data in to this cube
After loading 0FIGL_C10 goto 0FI_GL_V11 to check if you see data in this cube and then start building queries .
No physical loading of data in 0FI_GL_R10 and 0FI_GL_V11 cube as its Remote cube and Virtual cube.
I followed these steps. According to your datasources try following these steps and make sure you create a Virtual cube. The above link shows the standard query for Balance P&L. I have done for 0FI_GL_1 datasource. For this infosource i created standard cube and virtual cube. I guess in virtual cube you should get the data 0GL_ACCOUNT, Key figues 0VAL_FLOW & 0VAL_STOCK . Please go through the below link for more information regarding these objects.

I have to generate a report from Balance Sheet and P/L InfoCubes - 0FIGL_C10 and FIGL_V10. The reporting requirement is to allow detailed management accounting reports to be developed displaying Account Group/FSV definition with their monetary amounts, against actual, forecast and specific key calculated figures. The query should also allow data to be displayed against a fiscal period, year or combination of both including prior and future year data if required.

My client having 3years of old data(Legacy data) other then current year data which is coming from R3.

Differenciating between Balance Sheet and P&L Reports

From a SAP BI perspective, is it a right way to differenciate between Balance Sheet and P&L Reports based on Account Type ( IS- for P&L Reporting and BS- for balance sheet reporting).

Rashmi.If your General Ledger accounts, for the Chart of Accounts in use in your R3/ECC source environment, have the account type populated for each account as BS for Balance Sheet accounts and IS for Income Statement (P&L) accounts, then that should work for separating accounts for Balance Sheet and P&L reporting.
However, if this doesn't always hold true, another way you can do this is by using the XBILK (Indicator: Account is a balance sheet account?) field on SKA1 where X denotes a Balance Sheet account and blank denotes an Income Statement account.
Either way, you should validate with your FI Functional Consultant or FI business person to determine that your thought or the alternative I provided is correct. I say this because there may be reconciliation accounts that will are identified as Income Statement accounts, but the business doesn't want them to be reported (and in most cases they aren't reported - at least in my experiences). -
Costing sheet and standard cost estimate

I am trying to use Costing sheet for overhead calculation .
But in costing run I am not getting the overhead amount calculated .
I created the costing sheet and assigned that to valuation variant .
Where from the actual / Plan values being picked up for over head calculation .
More over I need to understand on what basis the %age for overhead can be calculted to be aborbed to material cost .
In costing run I am having ZERO values for overhead .
I have followed the following steps
Costing Sheet: Components
Define Calculation Bases
Define Percentage Overhead Rates
Define Quantity-Based Overhead Rates
Define Credits
Define Overhead Keys
Define Overhead Groups
Even then the Production overhead is not being calculated at the time of Cost Run
for standard cost estimate .

Key that groups together materials to which the same overhead is applied.
Procedure
In costing with and without quantity structure, and when costing production orders and run schedule headers, you can apply percentage overhead charges by means of an overhead key if you:

Enter overhead charges in this costing sheet that use the overhead key field
Assign the overhead key to an overhead group
Enter this overhead group in the material master record of the material -

Basically, are there any performance differences in a cube with little transactional data loaded and a cube with a lot of transactional data loaded?

When you compress an infocube you bring data from different requests (ID)together into one single request (even if in this case you cannot do anymore any selective deletion...)

Financial Statement Versions
You define the versions you need to create a balance sheet and profit and loss statement.
You can define versions for a specific chart of accounts, for a group chart of accounts, or without any specific assignment.
You then determine the financial statement items for your version.
You assign groups of accounts to the items at the lowest levels of the hierarchy. You can select the criteria that determine which items the accounts are displayed in NORMALLY HERE YOU WILL FOLLOW SCHEDULE VI. For example, accounts or groups of accounts can be assigned to particular items based on their balance.
Account intervals can be assigned to a financial statement item. This financial statement version can then also be used by the notes to financial statement in the G/L account information system.
You have to use t. code fse1, fse2 for creating these finanacial statement versions in SAP.
