Linking to a file but missing graphics in that linked file

Hello everyone. I can't figure this one out. I have redesigned my site in Muse instead of Dreamweaver. There are some files that are designed from Dreamweaver that I am linking to but the graphics don't show up. In Dreamweaver they all link to the images I placed in the "images" folder in MUSE. This is critical! I can't market until I figure this out. Anyone have a clue what to do? Is there a way to embed the image in the file?

Yep.... couple of saves did the trick, I'd experienced this a while ago but couldn't rmrmember what to to do - Thanx once again. In the end I had to remove the image again as if I didn't when I saved, iweb would restore the link I had just removed so her was my workfolw.
Delete image.
Save
Quit and relaunch.
Add new image
link to file
Save
Quit and relaunch
Publish
Not sure if 2 quits and relaunches are necessary but it worked so I'll keep it that way.

I'm trying to consolidate an Indesign book in one place. Every time I preflight and package, some chapters are missing graphics files, even though I know they are present on my hard drives. I've tried several times and each time the "Links" folder gets smaller and more filles are missing. I'm working with CS6.

Sometimes it could be a not stable enough server connection. If packaging does not work, select all files in the link panel and go to the link panel's menu > Utilities > Copy files and collect them from here. If this is too much, do not all at once, go through step by step until all files are copied.

Yes. Thanks. I misled myself based on another post. Successfully did this by selecting "File," "Save a copy ..." then choosing "for CS4 or later (IDML)"
It required some patience and several tries, but I think that was due to hardware (memory) being overloaded by CC Cloud version or something. It was a 50 MB, 500-page file and took 17 minutes to convert/save,
Re-capping: from CCloud to CS5, don't use "Export" (to IDML); use "Save as" or "Save a copy" and select "for CS4 or later (IDML)".
Advice much appreciated.

PDF Export: Missing Graphics

PDF Export: Missing Graphics Below is a section of code we are using to export a document as a PDF. The code will work 99% of the time, but occasionally we are getting the resulting PDF with some of the linked PDF components completely missing! The only way we have been able to reproduce this is (strangely) by continually opening and closing 'Windows Explorer' windows (We are using CS2 on XP), just as the process begins, until the final PDF is created. Our customer (who has hilighted the problem) would clearly not be doing this but we feel there is an issue here. (If the keyboard and mouse are left completely alone, the process is successful... 100% OF THE TIME!). The problem occurs both on site and at base, the linked PDF's are located on the LAN. Did you tried set some preferences from next ?
SetPDFExOmitPDF( kExportOmitPDFOFF )
SetPDFExOmitBitmapImages ( kExportOmitBitmapImagesOFF )
may be help you stabilize export process ...

How do I make RoboHelp report missing graphics?

[RoboHelp 9] Before building my CHM, I need to find out if any linked graphics are missing from the project's \graphics sub-folder. Is there any way I can make RoboHelp report missing graphics? The Broken Links report doesn't care if graphics are missing, only if hyperlinks are missing their targets. The Image Report just lists all the images referenced by the topics, but doesn't test if they are actually present in the required location. And if I build the help, the OutputLog.txt does not report that an image was missing. Any ideas how to detect missing images, before my CHM goes public?

While I agree, I feel that app developers are intentionally trying to mislead people. To play it fair, they should include the fact that it's a joke at the top of the app description.
This particular app, Phone Tracker GPS, does not at all mention it's a joke until the last sentence of the rather long description:
It's without a doubt the best joke you can play on them with your device! For entertainment purposes only and does not provide true device locator functionality.
I mean, why not just make it in fine print? All very desceptive in my opinion.

Missing Graphic Equilizer Presets

!Attempting to adjust the graphic equilizer settings in the creative console I found that the presets are missing.
How can they be restored / repaired?

Can you set the path + preset file be accesible for std user as well? This means least rights for reading/writing.
BTW, it's a good point that you can access the preset file when logged as admin ... I have Installed some software which can't be used even logged as an admin either. :angry:

Missing graphics - how to skip in Open

In my test script to cope with the various open errors I have this definition for the OpenParms:

When opening a book with files creating various errors, I get a dialog at the file which has missing graphics
«Cannot display some imported graphics. The image will appear as gray boxes»
Isn't this covered by the above OpenParm ?

Below my signature are a set of functions that I use to get a document. I call getDocument, which first does a check to see if the document is already open (docIsOpen function); if it is, it returns it. If it isn't, it calls the openDoc function. Here is a sample call:

Artifacts/Missing graphics

Hello, newbie warning here! If this is in the wrong place to ask, feel free to move my question.
I recently bought a MSI GT72 2QD-256NE Dominator laptop, and it's working great. It starts up fast, every program runs smoothly and so on. Same goes for the graphics card - it lets me run Final Fantasy XIV on max settings (60-70 fps). However, a part of the background sometimes disappears.
Example: There is fog in the background, but chucks of the fog is missing:
This only happens with fog/mist/clouds-like background components. Nothing else in-game is disappearing like this. If I rotate the camera parts of the fog will return, while other parts will disappear. I have already downloaded the graphics drivers from MSI's site, but is it possible that I've installed them wrong? I have the same problem when I play the game at low settings.

picture isnt small at all xD if you look in bottom left corner RX-8 you will find square boxes that has no fog thats the problem linny2903 is complaining about, also you can click on picture and it becomes biger.
To confirm this with you Linny2903 could you tell us if same problem occures in any other games with fog releated graphics? if not then this is just a known bug inside final fantasy itself glitching itself

Mail is backed up automatically. If you make backups automatically, open Mail application and then, open the Time Machine app (in /Applications/Utilities). You will access to the Time Machine interface, and you will be able to see all your mails of all the backups you have, and you will be able to restore them. It means that your mails are backed up onto the Time Capsule

Thanks to Fruhulda and Peter for their comments regarding the refusal of Pages to let me make 3D charts.
In answer to the questions put to me in this regard :
1. Pages version : Pages '09 v.4.1 (923)
2. Mac O/S :          v.10.6.8
3. 3D chart :          Can't find a 'name', but upright bars with rounded corners ???
4. Moved apps :    Not that I'm aware of! All should be as installed off the disc.
5. A note :              I have been able to create these in the past - related to a SW update?
                      and ... can create these charts perfectly in Keynote (go figure).

You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5/5.01 can not open Pages 5.1 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5.1 sometimes can not open its own files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Apple has not only managed to confuse all its users, but also itself.
Note: Apple has removed over 95 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

You don't. Backup your itunes library on the old computer and move it to the new computer.

If your intention is to copy a just documents and data (word processing files and music for example) then yes, you can use drag and drop. If you want to transfer data and applications and permissions, it would actually be easiest to connect the drive to your old computer and turn on TimeMachine. Once TM is finished, connect the drive to your new computer and restart it holding the option key to get into Recovery mode. Then you can use the restore from TM option to transfer your data and programs to the new computer.

I've had all kinds of trouble keeping my iTunes software current over the past year, but have found the easiest way to remedy the issue is to simply download the latest version of iTunes as though I am a first-time user and then just install it into the directory my current version of iTunes is using. Doing this has allowed me to update my software without losing any of my media/data. Hope this helps! Best of luck!!!

Today's episodes, number 5, is in the Store now, which is actually pretty quick: it's quite usual for updating to take 1-2 days.
Your image is correctly referenced; it can take some days for an image to appear in the Store. If you changed if from a previous image you need to have changed the filename, otherwise the Store (which caches the image) won't know it's changed.
