Linking width of two components

hello,
I am building an app for my coursework that uses geoRss feeds.On the left of my frame i have two panels.
Top one contains a JTree and is scrollable
Bottom one contains an image of fixed Size.
I am using a gridBag layout.
I want to constrain the Top panel so that it is always the same width as the image even when the frame is resized.
I want the top window to always fill the remaining height that the Image doesnt take up.
I dont have much experience with the gridBag layout but i think that if i can get the top panel to be fixed to the width of the Image then i can use weighy to ensure it fill the remaining space?

The GridBagLayout is the most difficult layout manager to use.
Read the Swing tutorial on [Using Layout Managers|http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/TOC.html] for examples of each layout.
Sounds like you can use a BorderLayout. Add the tree to the CENTER and the image to the SOUTH.

How can I link data in two components in a BI Publisher report?

Hi,
If possible, I would like to make a BI Publisher (11g) report build as a pivot table next to an ordinary table, where data in each row in the two tables are linked to each other. E.g. if Customer A is shown in first row in the ordinary table, it should also be in the first row of the pivot table etc.
Any filtering and sorting defined in the ordinary table to have effect in the pivot table.
I would like to have a Top-10 filter on my data set, but that is not possible in a pivot table. That's why I somehow need to link the two components to each other.
I have tried to do this by linking data sets in the Data Model, but that doesn't seem to work.
Does anyone know if this is possible at all?

A useful link, but not really what I was looking for.
I would like a pivot table to be related to whatever is shown in an ordinary data table. I have not been able to do that and maybe it isn't possible. In the link you sent me, you also see that any filtering made in the lower table doesn't affect the upper graphs (at the end of the video).
Another way to solve my problem would be to replicate the filtering in the pivot table based on the filtering in the ordinary table. But for some reason Top/Bottom filtering is disabled in pivot tables. Do you is there is another way to use a top-10 filter in a pivot table?

How to link a view in one component to the other component and the view in the second component should be read only..For example am having a submit button in first component when I click on the submit button the second component Approve button should receive this view which should be a read only file.

While you are navigating from one component to the other, you may use plugs and pass a parameter through the plug. Read the parameter in the other component and change the property of the UI elements to read-only.

Two Gainward 6800 Ultras in SLi mode - PCIe VGA Link Width: 8x

I have a K8N Diamond SLi board with two Gainward 6800 Ultras. When I have just one card inserted I get "PCIe VGA Link Width: 16x" in the BIOS, but when I have both cards in I get only "PCIe VGA Link Width: 8x", is this correct?
I also get a shaky/trembling display in everything direct3d when I'm in SLi mode, as soon as I turn it off the image is rock solid. It's like the complete image on screen shifts one vertical pixel line up and then back to normal again.. this happens at regular intervals while playing games and it's very annoying :\ Any ideas?

Check your BIOS configurations concerning SLI settings, PCI-E settings and so forth. Have you run any benchmarks with the SLI and Balance Bar modes enabled? You will find both in nVidia Settings! That should tell you if any one card is not pushing it's load!

Here is my problem. I had Vga Sapphire x1300. Link width was x16 and everything worked fine. Now I have bought new vga card Sapphire HD2600 XT 256MB and now the PCI-e vga link width is x8. The motherboard is not SLI and there is only one PCI-e x16 slot. The graphic card works and the card itself is x16. PCI-e is x16. So PCI-e vga link width should say x16 as it has with my old card, but it says x8. I have updated BIOS to the latest version. I have searched the manual but I didn't find anything about setting up the graphic card bus. BIOS has setting for PCIE Spread Spectrum which can be set to "Down Spread" or "Disabled". The second setting for PCIE is PCIE Clock which can be in range from 100-145MHz. I didn't changed these settings because with an old card everything worked fine, and I don't know what these settings mean. Are one of this two settings related to my problem? I haven't overclock any of my components.
Can someone please help me or suggest what to do?

* Hunting to a new channel within a channelset never triggered a disconnect from the previous channel(s). This isn't a problem in general, but does becomes a problem when an app defines two distinct channelsets containing at least one shared channel at the head of the list. In this case, the first channelset hunts past it and connects on a later channel. But when the second channelset hunts through (triggering a connect fault when it hits that initial shared channel that can't connect), the fault is processed by the first channelset as well (incorrectly).

How data transfered between two components in FPM. - SRM Shoppingcart

I have requirement for SRM Shoppingcart.. to add new column in /SAPSRM/WDC_UI_SC_DOTC_BD (Item Overview Table) component and to populate the data from this column into /SAPSRM/WDC_DODC_NA (Item Details Tabs) component Notes and attachment text column. (View - V_DODC_NOTES)
I dont find any component usage or Link between these components.
Application - /SAPSRM/WDA_L_FPM_OIF
Could you please provide the outline of what has to been to transfer data between the two components.
This is an enhancement to std. SAP shopping cart process. - Is this enhancement possible ?

Why my PCIE Link Width is only x1 instead of x16

Hi Everyone,
I've got a MSI6600GT 128mb installed in my MSI K8N SLI (7185). During bootup i noticed that my bios reporting that the 6600GT is having a link width of only x1. However when go into windows it reported that i have a x16 link width under the windows advanced tab.
I have the following : MSI K8N (7185)
AMD 3200+ (venice) o/c 2180
APACER DDR400 1Gig RAM
WD SATA 160GB
MSI6600GT 128mb DDR3 o/c Core: 560 Mhz
Ram: 1160 Mhz
Forceware : 77.77, 82.15
My 3D Mark score really sux compared to others that have similiar if not lower that than mine. Plus i even O/C my cpu, ram and graphics cards and yet i still get a low score compared to others. ANd yes my system is stable cause i use Prime95 (blend mode) for 3 hours and i play FEAR and Oblivion without crashing (medium setting of course :P).
3dmark 05 (3d test only) at 1024x768 = 2515
Could the link width be the problem??? Can some1 please help me if i can chabge the PCIE link with to x16.

Thanks for the reply. But according to an article on AMD websites, it tells a different story. Here an excerpt of it :
"The PCIE specification defines x1, x2, x4, x8, x12, x16, and x32 link widths. The x1 PCIE link was designed to replace the PCI bus. The x16 link is intended to replace AGP*. The x32 link remains unimplemented.
PCIE's potential bandwidth will change the design of the typical PC and encourage the creation of more bandwidth-intensive applications.
* AGP, which was designed to take some of the load off PCI, is similar to PCI and shares some of the same problems – however, it does have some distinctive features. Therefore, my PCIE Link should be x16 since x16 is designed for graphic cards??? Isnt x1 tells us the bandwith throughput isntead of how many cards it can support???
Can someone explain to me in more detailed manner regarding thsi issue and wether my MB got it wrong in assigning my VGA card to x1 instead of x16?. Also on MSI website it listed the 6600GT as a PCIEx16 device.
Please help as any help is very much appreciated.

How to use a context between two components at the runtime

Hi Experts,
My Web dynpro component is over the Generation limit (size of generated load is > 2 MB) so it always gets Warning when I active it. That why I have separated my application into two components and use the ViewContainerUIElement in order to show views of each other.
In the application, I use also the TimeTrigger to refresh pages, all views have a TimeTrigger and the DELAY property of TimeTriggers is bounden into the same context attribute. I use a component to set up (change) the value of context attribute that is mapped with the Delay property. I want to change the Delay value on a component and other component will understand the changing.
My problem is how I can use the same context attribute between components at the runtime?
Let give me your advice on this.

How can I get one link to open two different PDFs?

Even though I'm only the hardware support guy where I work, I've been asked to maintain the web site. The latest request is that they want to get one link to open two PDFs. I know you can do something like that with web pages, but I'm not sure if you can do the same with PDFs. I only know the basics of Dreamweaver, so, if it can be done, please explain it to me like I'm a 5-year-old. However, I'm not afraid of code. Thanks, in advance, for any assistance.

You can do this by using the javascript onClick event to load the 2 pdf's, but if I was to see such action when clicking a link I would suspect that it was trying to open multiple pages, (as per spam sites) and immediately close the tabs/windows and never visit the site again.
If you do require two pdf's then merge both pdf files into one, and link to the single file as normal.

Areca Link Width seems low

I have an Areca 1231ML in my Early 2008 MacPro under 10.6.7. The card is supposedly PCIe 8x. I have the card in Slot-2 and System Profiler reports the card is running at 2x. Any ideas how I could get this running at the specified 8x?

I solved the problem by reseting the PRAM. Back to 8x .

Can Partial Trigger Work between Two Components Which Are in Two Pages?

Scenario: Some output text components in page one while a SelectOneChoice and a InlineFrame are in page two. At first the resource attribute of inlineFrame was set to point to page one. When changing the value of SelectOneChoice, the values of those output text will be expected to change accordingly. I tried to make SelectOneChoice to be the trigger of those output text components, but found that SelectOneChoice can't be seen when attempt to edit the value of PartialTrigger attribute of those output text components. Then I tried to set the ID of SelectOneChoice as the value of the InlineFrame component, but failed getting the wanted result again.
Problem: How to get a partial refreshing effect between two components that are in two different pages? Can partial trigger work in this scenario?

Commmunication Between two Components

I am able to communicate from Component one to Component two . But ! unable to do the same from Component Two to Component one. It shows the following error.

Child2Parent-component-communication: apply interface eventing (child component exposes interface controller event, child component defines NO cyclic component usage dependency to parent component, parent component subscribes own event handler to event of child component's interface controller, child component fires interface controller event at runtime and can also pass object references as event parameters).
For data transfer across component borders apply interface-context-mapping
1) exernal context mapping: data context in parent component, child component externally maps its interface context to it.
2) interface context mapping: data context in child component, parent component maps own context to interface context of used child component.

Two components do PublishedStaticFiles over the same file, who wins?

I use UCM 11G PS4.
Does anyone knows how PublishedStaticFiles is working, I know it publish
resources into the weblayout/resources/wcm/custom.
But does anyone knows what happens if two components try to publish same file?
I will expect that Content Server to merge the 2 published files into one
depending by loadOrder.
Can anyone tell me what is the difference between PublishedStaticFiles and PublishedWeblayoutFiles?

The PublishedStaticFiles and PublishedWeblayoutFiles tables are essentially the same thing, in that they both define where to publish in the Weblayout folder/directory. However, PublishedStaticFiles is used to publish static items like images, while PublishedWeblayoutFiles is generally used to publish dynamic items like layouts. When you're in the config manager, the "Publish static layout files" and "Publish dynamic layout files" publish those tables, respectively. A brief overview can be read on Kyle's post.
As far as merging published files, no, that is not possible. The Content Server publishes all component files, but if any have the same file name, the component with the bigger (higher) loadOrder will "win" and its file will override the other.
For instance, in the .hda file of the component you want to be loaded, you'll have:

Event Listening across two components?

Let's say I have two components. One of them has a button.
The other will post an Alert once it detects that the button has
been pressed.
How can the Alert component detect the button press of the
other component? I figured an eventListener would been needed, but
I am not sure how to write it.

Something like that might work, but from a programming
standpoint, your components should be designed in such a way that
they know absolutely nothing about the outside world (parent or
other components). For all it knows, it's the only component in
existence. But, using events, he could send out a message (event),
that if someone else (another component) happened to hear it, they
could do something in response to it. Think of the movie "Contact"
(if you've ever seen it).
Anyway, your best bet is to make a custom event that is able
to encapsulate an ArrayCollection. Then when the button is clicked,
you wrap up the AC in the event and send it out. Your other
component will be listening for events that are of that type (your
custom event). Then he can unwrap the AC in it and use it. If you
do not know how to create custom events and/or send data in events,
look up a tutorial on it. It's not that difficult to implement if
you can follow the concept I just talked about. However, I've also
personally tried to make a custom event to pass an ArrayCollection,
and for some reason it never worked (even though I followed some
tutorials down to the letter).
