Linking Zip folders for download

Hi, I want to make my albums available for download with all the MP3s in compressed zip folders...
I am able to add individual MP3's for download or stream by linking the direct file, however when I compress multiple MP3s into one Zip folder the link is broken and it wont download. I can't seem to find any information about this.
Im using Dreamweaver CS3 and Mac OSX 10.5.8

The link should look something like this:
<a href="photos2009.zip">Download the zip file</a>
if the zip file is in the root of the directory (with all your other files).
The zip file needs to be in the folder structure you are working from.
Highlight the text and use the Link box or the "point to file' icon in the Property Inspector to create the link to the file - the same way you create a link to any other files.
I do notice that you have spaces in the files name of the zip file. There should be no spaces in the file name - that could cause a problem.

Firefox 2.0.0.20 is the last version that works on OS X 10.3.9
You may want to consider using another browser if 2.0.0.20 does not work for your email. You could try using Safari for your email. Create dated folders for downloaded files?

Is there a way to auto create dated folders in Firefox like there is with Safari and Glims. All the files I downloaded on 1/18/12 are in a folder named 18-01-2012 (within the downloads folder), and the files I downloaded on 1/21/12 are in a folder named 21-01-2012. I find this a great way to manage my downloads and was hoping that there was a way to do this in Firefox.

You could write a script that runs if you boot the computer (or via a script that starts Firefox) that creates the proper folder and modifies a user.js file in the Firefox Profile Folder to set the default download location to that folder.

I have ie7 and can't download firefox for setup. Link on site for download doesn't work.

When I click dowload Firefox 9 it brings me to screen which says click here if download doesn't start. When I click there it brings me back to orginal screen. Can you help?

(I think the daughter got he better end of the deal!) I believe if you change the password and user id one of the devices it will stop that from occurring. But I'm not the one to tell you how to do it; someone like "Illaass" (Illaass seems to know how to correct / fix almost anything!) will know how if you don't. Just look for the "cat" icon.

Can't figure out why the "Do this automatically for files like this from now on" is disabled Compressed (zipped) Folders

I recently had to uninstall and reinstall Firefox. Now with the new version it will not allow me to click the check box "Do this automatically for files like this from now on". The line is disabled and a light gray. I went into the Applications tab under options and can't find the Compressed (zipped) Folders file type either.
I download a bunch of files for work and to have to click is going to be the biggest pain. Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

Dear all,
Safari opening linked .zip files directly from DVD (via Windows explorer) instead of downloading it tru browser click - it's working just fine in FF, Chrome IE. Is this a known issue? or something can be done by modifying browser setting/pref.
Expecting more advise on this.
Configurations: Windows XP
Safari: 5.1.7
Note: ensured there is no space in the file path, just linked the .zip file using href attribute!
Also tried with .xls, .doc insted of .zip same issue appearing.

appzapper & such are pretty flaky at removing things usefully, imo.
Use the uninstaller for speed download - http://www.yazsoft.com/products/speed-download/faqs/?how-to-un-install-speed-dow nload-properly
or get a hold of FindAnyFile or easyfind & search for Growl & Speeddownload & yazsoft - but from all I hear, the uninstaller works fine.
Failing that, Safari's settings plist file isn't in caches
Home/Library/Preferences/com.apple.safari.plist
is the place
& if you're still stuck, test & maybe download another browser using a New User Account.

Setting proper file extensions for downloadable links?

I'm trying to create a link on a webpage to download an InDesign file (*.indd) and a PDF. The link for the pdf works fine, but whenver I try to test the page and download the .indd file from the website, I get a *.indd.html file and the size of the file has changed by a lot. The link is correctly directed, and the file is correctly uploaded. Here is the website and code snippet used:

Zip it. Providing the file isn't too huge, a zipped file should download OK.

Where to download the webcentertutorialcontent.zip file for JDev 10.1.3.x?

A quick question for the download location of the webcentertutorialcontent.zip file for version 10g (10.1.3.2 or later).
I am going through the Oracle WebCenter Framework Tutorial 10g (10.1.3.2.0) (document id B31072-02) to gain an understanding of the working mechanism of portlets. The tutorial requires the use of the webcentertutorialcontent.zip file to set up the sample application, and points to http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/webcenter/files/webcentertutorialcontent.zip for downloading the file.
But that page has been updated to 11g. I was able to find the archived old versions of webcenter, but not that zip file.
It would very much appreciated if someone knows and let me know where it is.

You are right that 11g applications does not run on a 10g app server. Oracle 11g fusion middelware uses weblogic as an application server. This does not use the OC4J container anymore.
11g and 10g have a different licence so if you are using 10g and you want to use 11g, you need to buy a licence for weblogic and so on.
If you are currently looking into the use of webcenter/portlets and you are planning to use it later on, than oracle will propose 11g because i don't think 10g is supported... I don't think you can buy a webcenter 10g license..
By the way... You can install jdeveloper 11g in a sepperate middelware folder than your 10g version. This means that you easily can use them together. If you are planning on using webcenter, the best thing to do is install jdeveloper 11.1.1.3 (latest stable version) and install the webcenter extension. This allow you to easily create portlet producers and webcenter applications. You can easily deploy them on the integrated server. This is a lot easier than in the 10g release.

No one would be paying for the file itself that's part of the membership. I don't want to get into any copyright problems. I understand that they are royalty free and you can include them in your music no problem but the individual loops would be in the audio folder if I saved all the assets to the project file.
Also, would it be ok to include screen shots I take myself of apple programs in my downloadable content?
Just trying to figure out exactly how I should go about it to avoid any legal issues.

Given that anyone who has a copy of Logic would likely have installed all the loop content, there should be no need to distribute them with the project files. Alternatively, make your own loops.

I have recently been purchasing Books in Digital formats (which come compressed) and I am not able to un-Zip them.
I have used WinZip in the past (I'm a former Windows user) but I hear that this program isn't very good on a Mac...any recommendations?

The last Zip program I downloaded to my system was Zipeg and it LITTERED my system (no joke, I had to go to the Genius Bar to have everything removed).

Mac OS X actually has a built-in ZIP tool that can both unzip files and zip files. However older versions of OS X do not cope well with password protected zip files and it maybe some of your zip files also use newer options your old operating systems correspondingly old zip tool does not support.
I would therefore echo the suggestion of Illaass and recommend you get the free Stuffit Expander tool.
For what its worth you now can actually buy a version of WinZip for the Mac, see http://www.winzip.com/mac/en/index.html I have not used it as I find the built-in zip tool in newer OS X versions along with Stuffit Expander sufficient. I have also written an Automator workflow which allows me to create password protected zip files.

This is quite simple:
1.) Go to menu "File/Add files for upload"" and choose the highres image.
2.) Now place an element (image, rectangle or whatever you want) on your page.
3.) Select this element and use the "Hyperlinks" command in the upper command strip to link the element to the highres image you have selected in 1.)
Short way:
Place an element, select it and choose within the "hyperlinks" dropdown the entry "Link to file".
