Links in PDF created by MS Access work fine in Chrome and Foxit, but seem corrupted in Adobe Reader XI
I am using version 11.0.09.29 of Reader which I understand to be the latest, and version 6.1.4.0217 of Foxit.
The document is Dropbox - D00769 Parish Register Reconstructed.pdf and I have created this with an MS Access repoort exported as PDF to Dropbox.
If I download this and open in Foxit and click on the first camera icon on page 1 I am taken to the correct URL with no problem http://hcnhistory.org.uk/PDC/showJboximages.php/?T=HcN%20Parish%20Register%20of%20marriage s%201837-1963&S=600&X=D00769&N… (Note that the full URL is correct and ends N=7, but this forum has shortened what is shown here with an ellipsis.)
Similarly clicking on the second camera icon on page 1 also correctly takes me to http://hcnhistory.org.uk/PDC/showJboximages.php/?T=HcN%20Parish%20Register%20of%20marriage s%201837-1963&S=600&X=D00769&N…
All the links behind all the other camera icons are also correct in Foxit (and incidentally in Chrome).
If I open the same document in Reader and click on the first camera icon I am taken to http://hcnhistory.org.uk/PDC/showJboximages.php/?T=HcN%20Parish%20Register%25On - which is not correct and comes up with an error (a).
Interestingly the second camera icon in Reader takes me to http://hcnhisotonr/ which is very wrong, as does every other camera icon on the same page (b).
It seems that in Reader the first link on each page is as at (a) above, and every other link is as (b) above.
There is no problem with the link in the footer of each page.
I have checked on the forum entries that might have helped (e.g. https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1133628) but these seem to be about %20 being encoded as %2520 thereby causing errors, and were solved with a new version of Reader last year. It looks like mine may be a similar but not identical issue.
Any ideas what is going on?
Thanks
There's something very strange going on with this file. It doesn't actually contain any links (except for in the footer), but the URLs in transparent text located behind the camera icon and the first line of each item.
So if you have the option set to create links from URLs then Acroabt/Reader will recognize that text and convert it into a clickable link...
There are many problems with that, mainly that the URL text overlaps with the actual text of the document. So if you copy the first lines of the first page, it looks like this:
HcN Parish Register of marriages 1837-1963
Page 1
http://hcnhistory.org.uk/PDC/showJboximages.php/?T=HcN%20Parish%20Register%On 19 Sep 1837 John Munns (Labourer; aged 19 Years; signed) of 2H0oolfy%w2e0mll wararisa gMesa%rr2i0e1d8 b3y7 -H19u6g3h& FSo=r6d0 0B&aXc=oDn0 b0y7 6B9a&nNn=s7 t&oN A=
Sophia Mann (of Full age; signed) of Holywell
As you can see, the URL string is cut in the middle by the actual text, and is therefore broken when clicked (it happens in the forum system as well, just the same).
Other problems are that it screws up the text, and also that it won't work at all if the setting mentioned above is disabled.
If possible, I would recommend abandoning this weird system altogether and sticking with creating actual Link objects, like you did in the footer.
That is a much more reliable and consistent method of inserting clickable web-links into your file.

The enter key is not working in firefox but it has working fine in chrome and IE so please help me to rid out from this.
Hello gokulaan, try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)
* You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
* Or open the Help menu and click on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item while Firefox is running.
Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"
If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshooting extensions and themes article for that.
To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.
When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.
Thank you. -
Page is working ok in chrome and IE but not working in firefox. jquery problem i guess
http://184.170.251.149/raschet-shkafa-kupe
this page is working correctly in chrome and IE but not working in firefox, i cant click and of the dropdown menus(ДСП, доличество дверей). it was working perfectly prior firefox 18. can you please fix the compatibility problem ?I was referring to the second page in my above post.
I disabled JavaScript as a test after loading the page with JavaScript enabled and that worked.<br />
I also get the selects to open if I right-click instead of left-click the select.<br />
That way the select get selected (shows a focus ring) and after that left-clicking works as well .
This assumes that JavaScript is monitoring the left-click, but that script no longer works properly.

Home sharing is working fine for musics and videos but not for apps. What is wrong?
Home sharing is working fine for musics and videos but not for apps. What is wrong?
i had the same issue as everyone here after upgrading to itunes 10.x. vista could see xp home share. ipod touch could see xp home share.
neither could see vista home share.
after several hours of authorizing de-authorizing, rebooting router etc, i knew it had to be a firewall thingy with vista as xp was working fine
i went to this article http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2553 and followed the instructions. itunes was already in my vista exception list. on a hunch i deleted the itunes exception and followed the steps to add it again and boom it worked!! i could now see my vista machine from my ipod touch immediately.
something must have screwed up the firewall exception on the upgrade to itunes 10.x
it worked for me, i hope this helps others -
i am writing a program in jQuery to type Assamese language. I have made a function which is executed on each keyup. The function take the keycode and then display the Assamese alphabet based on Unicode decimal number assigned against the keycode in a array.
Example -----------
if I type B the output should be ব. It is displaying correctly in FF.
Now if I type BI the output should be বি. It is working perfectly in Chrome and IE. But FF is displaying ব ি . It is wrong.Do you see any errors in the Web Developer > Error Console (Ctrl+Shift+J) about this?<br />
I assume that you use the latest jQuery code to avoid incompatibility issues with Firefox?

Flash objects not displaying in Firefox (but works fine in Chrome and IE)
Well, I'm trying to embed a Shockwave Flash object into a website I'm building. It displays in Chrome and IE, but it doesn't show up at all in Firefox. It's just white space. Ive tried it on two machines, so it's presumably the code. Both the machines have Adobe Flash enabled... I'm not sure what the problem is. I've not worked with embedding Flash objects in HTML before, so, it's probably something really obvious. I just used the insert command on dreamweaver and it wrote the code that I'm using. If anyone can help me, it would be much appreciated. Here's my code:

This is an ongoing problem with other users. When putting a PDF in address window of Firefox and clicking go to address FIREFOX WILL NOT LOAD AND DISPLAY THE PDF. This problem has come up in questions from other users on your site. NONE OF THE SUGGESTED SOLUTIONS WORK! (trying either the Firefox PDF viewer or the Acrobat viewer as default viewer)
I am using Firefox 23.0.1 (as some of the other users with the same problem). This was not a problem in the past with Firefox. Safari and Chrome continue load and display PDFs just fine from their addresses. This is a big problem as I now have to inform people who want to view my PDFs NOT TO USE FIREFOX BUT TO USE SAFARI OR CHROME.It appears that a link to a PDF on an internet page will not download in Firefox either!
I went to this page:
http://www.nasa.gov/connect/ebooks/earth_art_detail.html#.UjYEzrwsU08
and tried to download the PDF link at the bottom of the page (Download: PDF 11.3 MB) It didn't work! Nothing happens. Tried it in Safari and it worked flawlessly.
I have a PDF file of my work in the public_html folder on my URL. I give the address generated by that file to people who want to view my work---this works perfectly in Safari and Chrome. As to your other question, can't bookmark it if I can't get to it in Firefox. -
I am beta testing windows 10. I use both a hp laptop (dv77128nr) and a desktop (home made). I use a hp officejet pro8500 a910 printer.
When using firefox I get only blank pages while trying to print from within the browser. Only using firefox. Chrome works fine. IE works fine. If I boot to windows 7, firefox works fine. Can you help or should I report this to Microsoft?
Thanks for your help.
ps. Tried resetting firefox. Haven't tried a new install.Firefox isn't officially supported on Windows 10. For that matter, Windows 10 isn't officially supported either. This is most likely a problem between Firefox, Windows 10, and your printer's driver. Try updating your printer's driver and see if that helps. Otherwise, it might be a good idea to post this on Microsoft's forums as well.

I Can't type in my Blog Search Box through Firefox but works fine in Chrome and IE
My Search box Doesn't type when using Firefox but it works well when I am using Chrome or IE , so I asked some of my friends to check out the blog and tell me If the search box is working or not, and they faced the same problem as well, I can press Search but I can't type words in the box.
Can you reach the search box via the Tab key?
What element is selected when you right-click that search box and click Inspect Element to open the Inspector?

Just the other day gmail settings in Mozilla suddenly went from "cozy" to "compact" view. Gmail is not letting me reset to cozy in Mozilla, saying it's only for larger screens. However, it does let me use cozy in Chrome.
You had one support forum (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/972502) and I tried restarting in Mozilla "safe" mode, which allowed me to switch to "cozy". But running in just safe mode is not a solution I can use, so I need to find out what is causing the problem in normal mode that doesn't exist in safe mode. Beyond running in safe mode, there is no other proposed solution here.Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that turns off some settings, disables most add-ons (extensions and themes).
If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:
*In Firefox 29.0 and above, click the menu button , click Help and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.
*In previous Firefox versions, click on the Firefox button at the top left of the Firefox window and click on Help (or click on Help in the Menu bar, if you don't have a Firefox button) then click on Restart with Add-ons Disabled.
If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:
* On Windows: Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
* On Mac: Hold the option key while starting Firefox.
* On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox -safe-mode <br>(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".<br>

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause.
To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.
