Linux net command showing incorrect output if executing from java.

I am trying to execute a net rpc registry on red hat linux box from java using Runtime. I have stored the command in a String variable. When the execute the command from java it throws an error saying that "Invalid registry path" however the same command works fine when executed from linux command terminal.
CODE
import java.io.*;
public class ChkBpower {
     public static void main(String[] args) {
     checkBpower(128);
     public static void checkBpower (int TTL){
          int ttl = TTL;
          System.out.println("Hello3");
          String ip = "20.198.36.28";
          String[] reg={"\\","HKLM","\\","SOFTWARE","\\","Marimba"};
          System.out.println(reg);
          String credentials ="bpwrlab/Administrator%Confmgmt1";//"asiapac/gjagdeosingh%M@nu2281";
          String chkBcmd = "net rpc registry enumerate '\\HKLM\\SOFTWARE\\Marimba' -I " + ip + " -U " + credentials ;
          String chkBstatus = "net rpc service status cscmarimba -I " + ip + " -U " + credentials + "| grep -b 'service' | awk '{print $4}'";
          String startBpower = "net rpc service start cscmarimba -I " + ip + " -U " + credentials;
          if (ttl>=100 && ttl<=128){
          System.out.println(ttl);
          System.out.println(chkBcmd);
          try {
               Runtime r = Runtime.getRuntime();
               Process p = r.exec(chkBcmd);
               InputStream stderr = p.getErrorStream();
     InputStreamReader isr = new InputStreamReader(stderr);
     BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(isr);
     String line = null;
     System.out.println("<ERROR>");
     System.out.println(br.readLine());
     while ( (line = br.readLine()) != null)
     System.out.println(line);
          System.out.println("</ERROR>");
          int exitVal = p.waitFor();
          System.out.println("Process exitValue: " + exitVal);
          catch (Throwable t)
     t.printStackTrace();
}

Use exec(String[]), not exec(String), whenever you have argue,nets. Saves all that mucking around and second-guessing and escaping ...

    'dir' only represents the working directory of the process, it has no bearing on where the executable is looked for. So if the executable isn't on your PATH (or one or two other well-known places) it won't get found.
    To do what you want, you need to specify a full path to the exe - in this case converting 'dir' to a string and pre-pending it to the exe name should do the trick.

  • Invoking unix executable from java

    How do I capture the RETURN VALUE from the Unix process (executable) invoked from java program

    After using Runtime.getRuntime() , and using runtime.exec(ProcessName), You get a Process object you can use waitFor() method of process. After that call process.getInputStream() and encapsulate in DataInputStream then onwards u can use readLine method to get value it is returned.

  • In Lightning different events with different timezones shows incorrect timezone description, mostly from Africa.

    I discovered that the e-mail appilcation we are using (Thunderbird) has errors with timezones. For example:
    In my calendar, I created 3 events (with these names: Budapest, Kiev, Monaco)
    Then I set the Budapest event the Budapest (+1) timezone, for the Kiev event the timezone in Kiev (+2) and for Monaco the timezone in Monaco.
    I saved everything, then in Thunderbird I opened these events one by one. The first was ok, but the Kiev event showd a timezone from Africa. The third event was ok too. Then I started opening again these three events, but now the first, the Budapest event shows the timezone from Africa.
    Meanwhile if I opened these three events from Firefox, from under my Google Mail account, everything was ok. All timezones are fine.

    Same here. My university has unfortunately subscribed to a Microsoft monoculture involving Exchange and Outlook. Our team is trying to use the new Outlook calendar scheduling function. Our PM has sent meeting invites for 3 mtgs, one of them: Thursday, 27 March 2008 1:00 PM-2:30 PM. Her Outlook interface is correctly set to GMT +10h Brisbane EST.
    When I open the .ics attachment on my MacBook Pro in iCal, the meeting is created for Thursday, 27 March 2008 11:00 PM to Fri 28th 12:30 AM, that is, 10 hours in advance. It seems that at some stage the time difference GMT +10h is added twice. My iCal is set to Brisbane timezone too.
    However, I have received other .ics files (I assume from non Outlook Exchange users) and they work fine and the times are displayed correctly. I am also subscribed to a number of shared calendars some of which are not iCal specific and I don't have timezone issues there either. So I'm wondering who's to blame? Microsoft for making Outlook issue non-standard ics files or Apple for not being able to read them properly?
    Is there a fix?

  • DAX Calculation shows incorrect results when driven from Time Slicer

    Hi,
    We have defined a DAX quarter on quarter calculation
    PREV Q % 13F:=divide([PREV Q ABS 13F],[Prior Quarter 13F])
    Prior Quarter 13F:=CALCULATE(sum([TotalValue]), DATEADD(Time[Date], -1, QUARTER))
    PREV Q ABS 13f:=CALCULATE(sum([TotalValue]))-[Prior Quarter 13F]
    which works fine in Pivottables in Excel but when time selection is driven by a time slicer the calculation doesn't work anymore:
    Is this a but or expected behaviour? Are there other ways to use a control that affects multiple other pivot tables like the time slicer?
    Thanks for your help!
    Martin

    OK, there are some really interesting points here - i think the screenshot below best explains it:
    Time Slicers use MDX subselects to propagate the selection to the pivot table:
    SELECT .... FROM (SELECT Filter([Fact13FSample].[ReportDate].Levels(1).AllMembers, ([Fact13FSample].[ReportDate].CurrentMember.MemberValue>=CDate("2013-04-01") AND [Fact13FSample].[ReportDate].CurrentMember.MemberValue<CDate("2013-07-01")))
    ON COLUMNS  FROM  ...
    this works just fine for normal measures but seems to cause issues with time-intelligence function
    it actually causes an issue with all calculations that use CALCULATE and thereby shift the context out of the subselect
    it seems that you cannot get out of this context using DAX- at least i could not find a solution yet
    not even this works:
    All Quarter 13F:=CALCULATE([SumTV], ALL('Time'))
    the result is always limited to the subselect :/
    funny thing is that this only seems to happen with this specific subselects so i guess it is further related to MDX FILTER() or .MemberValue or CDATE()
    the only option i could currently think of is to use regular slicers

  • Show errors on UIX page from Java code?

    Hello all:
    I've got a simple Login page in Jdev 10g (9.0.5.2) that I'm setting up. The basics work fine -- if I type in a valid login/password, it works. If I type in an incorrect login/password, it loops back to the login page. The problem is that I can't seem to get my Invalid Login error message to appear.
    The loginPage.uix is based on a template. The template contains the following code:
    <messages>

    </handlers>
    </page>
    My Java code is:
    public class LoginAction extends DataAction
    public void findForward(DataActionContext actionContext) throws Exception
    HttpServletRequest request = actionContext.getHttpServletRequest();
    HttpSession session = request.getSession();
    ActionErrors errors = actionContext.getActionErrors();
    String target = "fail";
    //Get the result of the Model Method Call
    JUCtrlActionBinding method = actionContext.getCustomMethod();
    boolean successfulLogon = ((Boolean)method.getResult()).booleanValue();
    Integer attempts = (Integer)session.getAttribute("loginAttempts");
    int intAttempts = 0;
    if (attempts != null)
    intAttempts = attempts.intValue();
    if (!successfulLogon || intAttempts > 3)
    // If the Logon fails we need to do the follwoing
    // 1. Increment the counter. Once this exceeds 3 any logon will fail
    // 2. Create an error message to display on the logon screen.
    // Be sure that this is non-specific so crackers can't tell if
    // a portion if the username is correct or that there is a
    // Max attempts value.
    session.setAttribute("loginAttempts",new Integer(++intAttempts));
    errors.add("InvalidLogin",new ActionError("loginerr.invalid"));
    actionContext.setActionErrors(errors);
    else
    session.setAttribute("loginStatus", new String("true"));
    target = "success";
    actionContext.setActionForward(target);
    This goes to a "success" actionForward if the login works and a "fail" actionForward if the login fails.
    My ApplicationResources.properties file contains:
    loginerr.invalid=Invalid username/password. Please try again.
    This matches up with the key I used in the new ActionError() statement above.
    My structs-config.xml for this section looks like this:
    <action path="/mainAction" className="oracle.adf.controller.struts.actions.DataActionMapping" type="oracle.adf.controller.struts.actions.DataAction" name="DataForm">
    <set-property property="modelReference" value="loginUIModel"/>
    <forward name="success" path="/loginPage.do"/>
    <forward name="login" path="/loginAction.do"/>
    </action>
    <action name="DataForm" path="/loginAction" className="oracle.adf.controller.struts.actions.DataActionMapping" type="com.paslists.view.LoginAction">
    <set-property property="modelReference" value="loginUIModel"/>
    <set-property property="methodName" value="loginUIModel.login"/>
    <set-property property="resultLocation" value="${requestScope.methodResult}"/>
    <set-property property="numParams" value="2"/>
    <set-property property="paramNames[0]" value="${param.username}"/>
    <set-property property="paramNames[1]" value="${param.password}"/>
    <forward name="fail" path="/mainAction.do"/>
    <forward name="success" path="/getHomePageAction.do"/>
    </action>
    <action name="DataForm" path="/loginPage" forward="/loginPage.uix" validate="false"/>
    mainAction has a success forward to loginPage.uix. loginPage.uix has a "login" event attached to the submit button, which forwards to loginAction. loginAction executes the code declaratively and forwards to success or fail. If success, it continues on. If fail, it loops back to mainAction.
    Again -- this all works (almost). The only thing that does not work is that my ActionErrors() are not displaying on the web page.
    What am I doing wrong here?

    Solved my own problem. See the following thread for the answer:
    Displaying Struts messages/errors in 10g
    I modified my error code to be:
    actionContext.getActionErrors().add(ActionErrors.GLOBAL_ERROR,new ActionError("loginerr.invalid"));
    this.saveErrors(request,actionContext.getActionErrors());
    I modified my template to contain:
    <struts:dataScope xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/uix/ui"
    xmlns:data="http://xmlns.oracle.com/uix/ui">
    <contents>
    <messageBox messageType="error" automatic="true"/>
    </contents>
    </struts:dataScope>
    I also added xmlns:struts="http://xmlns.oracle.com/uix/struts" to the templateDefinition.
    It now works.

  • How to execute Linux OS command  from ODI

    We have installed Oracle data integrator on windows machine and want to execute linux OS command in a procedure or scenario from ODI .
    How could i do that ?
    I can see os command elements but they do not work, only windows commands work.There should be linux technology i think

    Obviously you can execute Unix OS commands only on Unix OS. Why do you expect Windows to understand it?
    The solution in your case would be executing your ODI scenarios with an Agent installed on Unix machine.

  • Running Shell Commands (not Executable) in Unix from Java

    What are my options to run shell commands from Java?
    My goal is to change my existing shell environment variables to some new ones provided by .anotherProfile.
    Using an executable from Java is not an option because it does not work i.e. ( exec(". /home/.profile") ) brings up errors.
    Someone has suggested that I start a child shell with that profile and work from there, but I'm unfamiliar with that sort of syntax and programming in general.
    Any good help equals duke dollars :)

    Well there are some possibilities. In the original thread you mentioned that you wanted the shell script to be executed to change some enviroment parameters of the shell the JVM is executing in.
    If so, and you are able to rewrite the profile so you can parse it manually. Then you can change some environment setting by writing the JNI wrappers for the getenv and setenv system calls. (Check your man pages)
    That will change the environment. I am just wondering what good it will do for you? What's use of sourcing the profile in a JVM?

  • Command line args from java to C++

    Hi
    I want to pass command line arguemnts argc and argv from java to C++. I have browsed the net and most of them suggested that I declare the jni statement with jObjectarray.
    I saw an example at http://www.csc.calpoly.edu/~fouzi/crossroads/Arguments.c
    It said
    #include "/home/java/linux/jdk118/include/jni.h"
    #include "Arguments.h"
    #include <stdio.h>
    JNIEXPORT void JNICALL
    Java_Arguments_setArgs (JNIEnv *jenv, jobject job, jobjectArray oarr)
    /* obtain the size the the array with a call to the JNI function
    GetArrayLength()                              */
    jsize argc = (*jenv)->GetArrayLength(jenv, oarr);
    /* Declare a char array for argv */
    char const* argv[128];
    int i;
    for (i = 1; i < argc + 1; i++) {
    /* obtain the current object from the object array */
    jobject myObject = (*jenv)->GetObjectArrayElement(jenv, oarr, i-1);
    /* Convert the object just obtained into a String */
    const char str = (jenv)->GetStringUTFChars(jenv,myObject,0);
    /* Build the argv array */
    argv[i] = str;
    /* print the argv array to the screen */
    printf ("argv[%i] = %s\n",i,argv);
    /* Free up memory to prevent memory leaks */
    (*jenv)->ReleaseStringUTFChars(jenv, myObject, str);
    // Increment argc to ajust the difference between Java and C arguments
    argc++;
    // Call a pipeline simulator function which uses command line arguments
    start(argc,argv);
    return;
    That is what I have where the start method is declared like this:
    void start(int argc, /* Argument count */ char argv[] / Argument strings */) {
    But I get a warning when I build the C routine. The warning arises when I am calling the start method.
    The warning says:
    f:\jni\dsaccess.c(711) : warning C4090: 'function' : different 'const' qualifiers
    f:\jni\dsaccess.c(711) : warning C4024: 'start' : different types for formal and actual parameter 2
    Can you help?
    Thanks
    Lakshmi

    1. Your array building looks bogus: Are you missing an index?
    2. You claim to be calling a "method". Are you? Or is it a subroutine?

                   //p = Runtime.getRuntime().exec("export password");
                   System.exit(0);
              catch (IOException e)
                System.out.println("[IOException]. Printing Stack Trace");
                e.printStackTrace();
                System.exit(-1);
    }This gives me the following error.

    Assigning and exporting variables are not commands that you can execute from Java. You can only execute programs--binary executables. Assigning and exporting shell or environment variables is part of the shell.
    Why are you trying to do this? Even if you could, it wouldn't affect the running VM, and it wouldn't affect anything outside that exec() invocation.
    If you need to set them for something else you're going to run, then you should set them in a shell script and run that script.

  • Invoke a command-line from java

    Hello!
    I wonder if there' s a way to invoke a command or running an .exe file from java code.
    10X,
    Yaron

    Sure, using the exec method in the class Runtime. You have to be careful with it though...
