List Item Question

I'm trying to have my list items as capital letters, I know where to find the command to do so. However, when I change my ordered list from numeric value to alphabetical the letters go off tilt. Any suggestions?

Use something like this but with a caveat:

<li>This is a list B</li>
<li>This is a list C</li>
</ol>
The type attribute is deprecated and so you need to start using CSS to do exactly what you want to do.

How to update the table when change list item in classic report

hi ,
i worked with apex 4.2 and i create normal classic report with one select list(named loved)Column ,now i want to update table when user change the list with new value ,i can't create dynamic action to do this,i create check box with primary key and loop for check item to update the table but i can't get the value of list item. and for more speed the user want to do this when change the list value.
my question
1- how to do this by javascript and get the value from list item and update the table with new value
2- is i must use API to create list item so i can get the value of item in report or what.

I coded the following to give you direction:
1. In the "Element Attributes" section of the DEPTNO column, I call a javascript function as:
onchange = "javascript:updateTable(this);"2. I wrote a simple javascript function that shows an alert when the user changes the select list as:

List items in JSF 1.2?

I'm in the process of learning JSF (I have a little ASP.NET background). I'd like to be able to iterate through a List of items and render them as buttons on the jsp page, inside list items in an unordered list:

</ul>It looks like the old JSTL <c:forEach> was able to do the iterations, but didn't have access to JSF backing beans(?). According to this site (http://www.jsffaq.com/Wiki.jsp?page=IsItPossibleToUseJSTLsCForEachWithFacesContext), there's some new way of doing this in JSF 1.2 / JSP 2.1. Can someone please elaborate on this - how can I iterate through a list without putting everything in a dataTable?

A. The forEach tag does not work with JavaServer Faces technology, version 1.0 and 1.1 tags due to an incompatibility between the strategies used by JSTL and and JavaServer Faces technology. Instead, you could use a renderer, such as the Table renderer used by the dataTable tag, that performs its own iteration. The if, choose and when tags work, but the JavaServer Faces tags nested within these tags must have explicit identifiers.
This shortcoming has been fixed in JSF 1.2.
... so it looks like we still use the <c:forEach> tag, it just understands jsp and jsf now.

Validation settings for a list in Sharepoint 2010 to find if there is a document attached to the list item

I have a very peculiar question on List validation settings. I want to validate a list item whether user has attached a document to the list item or not? The list item should not be saved until a document is attached to it. Is it possible to perform this
validation for a list item in a list?

Error with Provider Hosted App on Edit Form of a list item

We have an error on the Edit Form of one of our pages.
We have developed a SharePoint Online Provider Hosted app which replaces the standard edit form of a list item and has some further events behind the save button. Since this is rather new territory for us, we're using a roundabout way of achieving this by
using a script editor web part to display an iFrame of our app. That way we can pass the Url through to our app and retrieve query strings from them.
Our issue comes quite intermittently in that we sometimes get a "web page cannot be found" error or sometimes a "resource cannot be found" error, however, when we load another app on the site (from the same app project, but using an app
part), then go back to the Edit Form, the information in the iFrame suddenly renders.
Any ideas on what might be causing this issue at all? Ideally, we should be rendering the app to the Edit Form is the proper manner, rather than scripting an iFrame that points to out app in Azure. Would this be the cause of the problem?

Hi thumper, if you have access to InfoPath, you can add the form to a page using the InfoPath web part. Otherwise, use SP Designer with instructions below:

I have an onWorkflowActivated, followed by an ifElse condition and a log to history.
In the IfElse, each branch has a code segment, that trys to update the status column in the list that the workflow is attached to.

you can do the following:
add the following code to the workflow.xml file (under the MetaData section)

Material staging indicator not populating in prod order WM pick list item

Hello,
I have an issue with material staging in an prod order
1) PP-WM interface is activated
2) Control cycle for material is created
3) Production storage location is created for material
4) storage type is 100 for production
5) There is one discontinued material and also the follow up material
6) stock of discontinued material is zero and requirement are passed to follow up material
When we confirm the order the stagging indicator for both follow up material as well as discontinued material automatically populates zero (Non relevence to pick list items) where as it should be one (1 - for pick list items).
One more issue user has manually inserted discontinued material as well as follow up material in production order change mode.
In the BOM of a main material both discontinued as well as follow up material is there with some quantity as a component.
For the same work center, control cycle , production storage location the indicator is populating.
These two material (discontinued as well as follow up) are appearing twice in the WM pick list screen where first two line items are OK and populating indicator "1". But in line item last and second last indicator is not there.
My question is why the stagging indicator is not automatically populating in the production order WM pick list screen in front of components.

Unfortunately, WM material staging via production orders is not possible
from the pull list. Please see the long text of message RMPU 311
(WM material staging for production order reservation not possible):
"You cannot carry out a WM material provision for pick parts from
production order reservations in the pull list". The reasons for this
are cleary explained in the SAP on-line documentation via the

The choice of the selection type influences which types of WM material

staged if the current BOM is used for calculating the dependent
requirements.
WM material staging via production orders is not possible from the pull
list.
I think you may try in CO02 or COR2 for production order or process order.

How to restrict user rights so they can add list items but cannot edit them once saved?

I appreciate if you can help me with this. My beloved company uses SP2010, and I got the task to solve this issue using it, though I am not a programmer (basic html is still ok).
I need a simple annual leave list with the following capabilities:
1. Group of users (~100 members) should be able to create list items in a list that contains annual leave data. Columns are: Name, Leave start date, Leave end date, Team leader, etc.
2. Once they fill in the new item form, a workflow notifies the team leader to visit the item and set a column "approval status" to approved or rejected.
3. Based on this column value, another workflow notifies the requestor about the decision.
4. After approval, users should be able to see their items in the list, but they should not be able to edit it.
Sounds so simple, but I have big issues with point 4. as Sharepoint does not differentiate create and edit rights to a list item. As a result, requestor can edit dates of the approved items.
Any hints how to solve this? Can impersonation help with this? Or should I add a new permission level to the site?

create a new security permission level that will allow submit only
create your annual leave list
assign everyone the submit only permission
add a workflow to send the email and modify the item permissions
Ok first things first, on the sharepoint server open a powershell window and type the following powershell:

Now in your site you will have a new permission level called 'Submit Only'.
Create your annual leave list and give all users read and submit only permissions.
Now create a workflow against this list in sharepoint designer.
Add a new step which should be an impersonization step
1st action
add permission: give the user and their manager (i am presuming you are capturing this information in your list so it will be recorded against the item) whatever control you wish, i.e. full control, contribute, etc.
2nd action
remove list permission: remove the group you initially gave read and submit only permission to and select the read and submit only permissions to remove from them, i.e. if you added the 'All Users' group, then when performing this action choose to remove
the read and submit only permissions for the users 'All Users'.
3rd Action
Send an Email: Email Manager with notification.

i just face the same issue and i create a new Permission level named "Submit Only". but i also have a custom web part that is added to my Create form . so when users tried to access the Create form they will get Access Defined. so is there a way to
modify the permission level to be able to read web parts ?

List items problems in oracle forms 6i

Hello friends,
I am using list item in oracle forms 6i and facing one problem. I am populating list using following built-in.
Clear_list()
Create_Group_From_Query( )
Populate_list()
The problem I am facing is when list gets populate it keep the cursor at last element of list with null value. I want cursor to go at first item in the list. Is this thing is possible. The list item I am using is pop-list. In combo its showing list perfectly but I have to use pop-list only. Please help to come out of this problem.

Can we create a list item as a data block item?

I have changed a text item to list item on the data block.
This list item used to get populated when it was control block item, but after i changed it to data block item, it's not getting populated.
My question is, can we create a list item(poplist) as a data block item?

Hi
When you use ctl blocks data dose not fetch from Database. But in data blocks it get fetches when you execute query. So you have to make sure table column values are matching with the List Box values you have given.
So please check table values.

Send a list item as a bulk e-mail using SharePoint 2010

My scenario is to e-mail newsletters to a group of users (running into 1000's) and we were thinking about any pro's and cons of using SharePoint here.
Preferable if the newsletter were embedded in the e-mail so there is no need to give permission to a user to visit the site (or do we have to anyway?)
Also, a functionality such that, every list item could have an option such as "E-mail to Group 1" or "Email to Group 2" that would allow the item to be mass e-mailed.
Group 1 assume to be a group of 500 individuals with only e-mail addresses known...
If SharePoint seems right, then can anyone suggest me how to go about this? If it is possible with OOTB/designer?

For you scenario, you could explore ECB Menu action using SharePoint designer.
The logic would be first fire up SharePoint designer and create an ECB menu to start a workflow ie initiate workflow in SharePoint designer (you need to create two workflows each for Group1 and Group2 to make it simple)
Next step would be to create a workflow to send an email to the selected group and use item values within the workflow to create the newletter.
