List of issues with PC suite

Hello everybody,
This is my first post here. I've been using PC suite for a while (over 2 years now) with my 6131 and even when there was a lot of improvements in PC suite, I've found some problems and inconsistencies in the use.
First, sometimes when I sinc my phone with Outlook (usually when I have to re-pair my bluetooth device) I get duplicated entries in the contacts, calendar, tasks and notes. These duplicated entries have something in common, they all have an added space in some part of some of the text fields. This has happened at least 4 times with different versions of PC suite.
Secondly, I've used the Nokia Comunication Centre 2.0 and found it a great application. But, (there's always a "but") I have a sugestion to make regarding the messaging management. I've verified that when you create a new SMS and send it through the NCC, that message does not appear on the sent messages folder of the phone, even when I've set my phone to do so. Another thing is that if you create a message and save it in the Drafts folder, and then edit and send that message, it does not get deleted from the Drafts folder.
Finally, another sugestion about the NCC. I've observed that you can get a notification on your computer when there's an incoming call or message in your phone and that you can answer it, deny it or reply with a message, great thing! But if you choose to answer the call, with your phone in the desk, flap closed, there's no way for you to hear the other party, you'll have to take your phone, open it and then choose how to continue the conversation. Same thing if you want to call somebody from your contact list. There should be the possibility to remotely activate the loudspeaker in that case or to use your computer's microphone and speakers to take the call.
Well, I got it out of me, it would be great if you can add your comments and/or help me with these issues.

you need to add media administration is non existent without Roxio Media Manager. You can no longer pick and choose which files to exchange. Synching is the only option.
Also, if media files are encrypted, DM 6 cannot read them. This was dealt with in Roxio Manager by simply inputing the encryption password...

List of issues with DM6.0

Here's my list of issues with Desktop Manager 6 that I would like to see addressed.
1) No minimize to system tray. This isn't a huge deal but I'd like to see it return.
2) Halt incoming e-mail to device when connected. This needs to come back. I don't need my Blackberry buzzing on my desk every two minutes when I'm sitting in front of my e-mail client.
3) Folder sync selection. My mail server has rules that automatically sort incoming e-mails into different folders. I'm pretty sure practically everybody in an enterprise e-mail environment does this. In previous versions of DM, there was an option to choose which folders to sync. This is now gone, although I believe because these settings end up stored on the BES server my settings have remained for now. Moving forward, I can't change any of them without talking to our BES administrator.
4) Automatic backup is broken. I've set DM to automatically backup my device "Weekly" when it is connected. What actually happens is every time I connect my blackberry it gets backed up - this can happen multiple times in one day. Pretty useless.
5) Mass storage mode settings on blackberry are bypassed. I have my bb set to prompt whether I want to enable mass storage mode when I connect it. Now, when I connect my bb it immediately enters mass storage mode without a prompt on the device or on the desktop. I have this configured because if you use any kind of custom ringtone, even if it is stored on the internal memory and not on the media card, as soon as mass storage mode is enabled the bb cannot access the files internally and ringtones default back to a standard generic one. I can no longer wander away from my desk and hear my phone ringing and identify that it is my phone.
That's my current (growing) list of issues. I will update with more, if anyone wants to confirm these issues or add others I will add to the list as well.

List of issues with patch level

Is there a list of application errors reported for each patch level?
When working with SAP R/3, there is a SAP note released for each patch level which states the changes delivered in that patch as well as what fixes are delivered. Therefore, it is easy to see what application errors exist in each patch level. Is there something similar for SAP Business One?

There are also notes for those Lists of issues with each patch level for B1. What is your B1 version and PL?

Sync Issues with OVI Suite 3.1.0.91

Hi Guys
I recently upgraded to OVI 10.1.0.91. I am using an N8. The previous version was working perfectly but since upgrading all my calendar entries are duplicated. I tried to change the settings but it keeps on doing that. Has someone else exprienced this?

Hi, I just got an N8 so having to use OVI as N8 will not work with PC Suite. I hate it nothing works properly or easily! Now I'm getting the same issue on Sync its showing between 3 - 10 duplicated entries. Its not even uniform duplications some are 3, some are 5, 8 & 10! I have deleted the other 2 Calendars listed in OVI in case it was them & hidden the other 2 on the phone & turned off the Sync till I can figure out what's going on or until someone can tell me how to correct it!
Never had a problem with PC Suite - it just updated NEW items be they photo's, video's, calendar entries etc for years with my N95 (8G), had this phone for less than a week with OVI & I'm regretting it already, it seems to be absolute rubbish.

Long list of issues with CP5 project

I've been working on a project for the past few weeks and its nearing completion. A couple of things have happened which seem to have completely messed up the project. On the surface all looks well but when you actually use it, major usability issues emerge. I've listed the problems below. Would appreciate any advice if possible. Am using CP5 (latest update applied) on an XP pc.
1. Throughout the project development I've been publishing to html to test it. All was working fine until I decided to trial a scorm export. When I selected Quiz Preferences to enable scorm reporting, CP locked up. I was then presented with the top strip of the Preferences menu window with the rest missing. This was a blue strip which ran right across the screen and onto my second monitor. I couldn't close it or escape it, or select anything beneath. So I had to force quit, no choice really.
2. After the force quit I restarted CP and managed to enable scorm reporting. I tested an export (to zip), deployed on my Moodle site and all worked fine. I then noticed I needed to change a few details so went ahead and made these (all I added was a title for the scorm manifest). When I exported again, I ran into problems with my embedded flv videos, saying they were corrupt (which they weren't). I eventually got round this by exporting the zip to its own folder (had been exporting to the main folder containing the CP project file... obviously not a good thing). The exported scorm file is about 74MB.
3. After all the above issues with the videos were sorted, I tested the scorm export and immediately ran into a whole rang of problems. Every single object that had a fade in & out affect had to have it removed as they were greyed out. My embedded videos were barely visable, looking like they'd been set to a 20% opacity in Pshop. Could still be played though, if you could find the play button. The opening slide decided to immediately fade once the scorm pack launched, despite never setting to do anything of the sort. I had to take a copy of another slide and recreate the front slide, then delete the old one. This seems to have fixed that issue. Now my final slide (which follows on from a Quiz Result slide) has decided to do an immediate fade in & out, so you can't read the text. Again I never told it to do that. All objects on the page have effects/transitions off but this hasn't had any affect at all.
4. I have also found a very very odd pattern of behaviour with Click boxes used as links to web sites. I have 8 links on a slide (text boxes with text blue colour & click boxes overlaying). Clicking on the 1st two links works fine, opens them in a new window. Clicking on the 3rd, nothing happens. A 2nd click loads the web page. When you close it you find yourself on the next slide and have to go back. The same pattern occurs for the next 3 links. Very very odd.
5. The other really annoying problem is with my next & back buttons. If I navigate through the package and then click back a few slides (or even go back 1 slide), I can't go forward again. I have to refresh the page. I've also found if I go back to the opening slide its greys outs completely, nothings visable. Again you have to guess when the next button is to move forward. The nav buttons are simple set to "go to next slide" and ticked infinite. This problem completely ruins the who package making it unuseable.
I'm starting to think something has corrupted my project. If its not that then its CP being buggy. One thing I do know is its one of the most sluggish Adobe apps I've ever used. If I can't fix these issues the course won't be useable and I'll have to start from scratch with something else.

Hi there. Welcome to the forum. Sounds like you've had a bad day.
Since no one else has chimed in yet, I'm going to suggest that you get rid of your Preferences file and let Captivate regenerate this, just in case it resolves some of the glitches. This preference file can get corrupted and cause all kinds of weird behaviour. So what I'm suggesting here might sound a bit radical but it's often proven to be successful for Cp weirdness issues.
Here's an explanation I've copied from another post by the eminent Captiv8tr:
You might try clobbering the preferences file. If you look in the following location, you should find the file named captivate_40.dat. Just Close Captivate, delete the file and restart Captivate.
To locate this file, right-click your Start button and choose Explore. This should easily get you in the general area. If you look at the parent folder you should see Application Data. (you may need to configure Windows Explorer to show you this folder) Inside the Application Data folder should be an Adobe folder. And inside the Adobe folder should be the Adobe Captivate folder. And inside this folder should be the file.

Laundry list of issues with ARD 3

I am running the client on aprx 200 systems across multiple subnets (our network is arranged with floor by floor subnets). I was having the very same issues with ARD 2 (and 1 for that matter).
Cannot update client from 2.2 to 3 on multiple systems.
the command either stalls at the "preparing to copy" prompt or fails after the copy finished . I have updated about 2/3 of he 2.2 clients but cannot get the last ones to go.
All Computer list does not refreshing properly.
is there a way to force a refresh of the list? the refresh button does nothing.
Cannot generate reports from the version 3 clients.
I have re-installed ARD
cannot set a remote task server.
I put the server in the field and it blanks the field.

Ensure the clients are running 10.3.9 or later. If not, update them.

Are you using a second copy of RD Admin application? You cannot use an installed copy of ARD with the same serial number as your installation. You must purchase an additional license.

I *love* my phone but there are many rough edges. I'm hoping I can fix a few here.

1. Does not always wake on double-tap
2. I both love and hate swype keyboard. I hate it because swiping from Q or P swipes out the keyboard. Can this be disabled?
Feed screen:
1. Weather on the feed screen always says "Vienna". I'm no where near any "vienna"
2. Despite showing the right map, on two occasions I've had weather not show me the proper radar.
3. I can't figure out how to retun to my feed screen after launching an item from it. I always have to start at the top?
4. My feed screen only sometimes shows my calendar
Dialer:
1. has trouble matching phone numbers without the +1
2. Why do I have to swipe up to answer o ignore a call, then choose to answer or ignore it? Can't we skip a step?
3. Why are the buttons so small?

YES. IF YOU JUST DONT WANT TO ANSWER, EITHER HOLD YOUR HAND OVER THE LIGHT SENSOR, OR FLIP YOUR DEVICE TO SCREEN-DOWN. THIS WILL IGNORE THE CALL. YOU WILL HAVE TO SWIPE TO ANSWER IT, OR YOU COULD USE EASY ANSWER
AND IT WILL AUTO TAKE THE CALL USING A COMBONATION OF YOU COVERING THE SENSOR AND THE ACCELEROMETER. I USE IT AND IT WORKS FINE.

I KNOW IFT SOUNDS DUMB....BUT IS YOUR VOLUME DOWN? IF NOT, THEN I WOULD CHECK TO BE SURE THAT YOU HAVE INSTALLED SOME AUDIO VOICES. YOU HAVE TO OPEN MAPS, THEN MENU, THEN SETTINGS, VOICES...MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE SOME THERE, IF NOT, DOWNLOAD SOME. THEN MAKE SURE YOU SELECT A VOICE TO BE USED. Is there an issue with Elearning Suite 2.5 and Windows 8?

I am trying to move my Elearning Suite 2.5 to a new laptop after my previous one died. The new machine is running Windows 8 and gives an installation error with a long list of Warning: DW066: OS requirements not meet. Is there an issue?
I was able to load Creative Suite 5.5 to the new laptop without any problems.

List of issues with new look bt vision

Hi,
There are a lot of things that are no longer present in the new look bt vision.
As such they out weigh the "benefits"
Will these issues be addressed at all - and is BT aware of them?
Issues:
1. crashing - it crashes randomly once a week - the old one never crashed once in years.
2. Information - less information now about all programs - no director, only half the actors - normally one sentance now - before it had lots.
3. Slow - sometimes it doesnt react to the controller - then all of a sudden it will "wake up" and do all the button presses i have been trying - in a split second.
4. Interface - why must it move the chanels down when i just want to look at the info on a program - not intutative. Yes i have "given it a go" for a few weeks now. so i am looking at the 5 main channels - i just want to get info on one program but it moves the whole thing down.
5. Interface - on demand. Why cant we fast scroll down any more in the movies section. Why do i have to press Down 92 times just to get to the bottom of all the Vision Films. If this was USA i could sue for R.S.I - oh and new batteries for my controller. Bring back the fast down - it works in the TV guide - but not in Movies.
6. Recording films that have a 5 minute news in the middle - now means i have to record 2 films
7. TV guide - just having to press that extra button to get back to the TV is very annoying. I dont like it at all - the designer must think people would liek to spend more time in the menu than watching the TV!!
there are other points but im at work at the moment and cant remember them.
Main gripe is its soo time consuming to use the on demand due to not being able to scroll quickly that i dont see any benefit with BT Vision in its present state.
I used to be a big fan and recommended this to friends - i now say the opposite.
The menu should be functional - you try scrolling through all the on demand films (in list or the other mode) - how many button presses do you need?

That's a function of using the Freeview+ EPG which BT have no control over. There was no shortage of users asking for this on the old system for various reasons. This won't change unless Freeview changes it, so get used to it.

Not really sure what your problem is here, it's the same amount of button presses either way and it probably makes the interface faster to have a single current channel line than fiddling around with display on multiple lines.

Yeah, that's pants and needs fixed. BT are aware.

Press Exit instead of Back. Job done.

Issues with creative suite 6 second disk installation

The second disk to my creative suite 6 will not autorun or installi really need help spent a lot of money and i cant even use it!!!

How to update revoked certificate issue with CS5 suite?

I have a security issue found with a Nessus scan that states:
Synopsis: An application installed on the remote Windows host is signed by a revoked certificate.
Description : The remote host is using Adobe software that has been digitally signed by a revoked certificate. An Adobe build server was compromised, which has caused at least two malicious utilities to be signed with Adobe's code signing certificate. Any software signed by this revoked certificate (including legitimate Adobe software) is no longer trusted.
I have followed everything I found on how to correct this, but most information is regarding CS6. I have updated the certificate through Acrobat (version 9), but that has not fixed my issue.
The programs it says that are affected are:
Bridge.exe
Extension Manager
Illustrato
Photoshop
I see no way to update anytype of certificate in these programs.
Is it just that CS5 is no longer supported, or have I missed an update?

Installation issue with Creative Suite 6 Production Premium install disks on ASUS laptop, Windows 8

Hi Adobe:
While trying to install CS6 Production Premium with install disks on my new laptop, many installation attempts have failed due to the DVD player falling asleep while reading Disk 2. The Installer software and Disk 1 seem to be operating fine, but after switching the disks when prompted, the installation simply stalls.
I have used these disks before and successfully installed on a previous desktop machine. I have an Adobe ID and issues serial number for this license.
May I download this content in order to circumvent the install disks entirely and try it that way?

X3-02 sync issues with Nokia Suite

Purchased new phone this week downloaded Nokia Suite (windows 7 64bit) loaded Nokia Suite with all my contacts names and numbers.
Sync to phone, phone has names only no numbers ? Nokia suite recognises names and numbers and texting is possibly from PC
Nokia suite cannot see 2gb memeory card either ?
Any one got any ideas ?

Issues With Creative Suite 6!

So less than two months ago at my college bookstore I bought Creative suite 6 on PC and it was working fine till tonight. My pc refused to load acrobat pro x and i decided to repair it. Well little did I know it deleted all of it. I really need this program, how do I get it back?

This is the structure of my XSD. And when I generate the code from WScompile, it just does't generate anything for the commonSchema.xsd
I also found that the addition of an sequence element to the WSMessage which is being referenced by WSRequest,WSResponse etc.. does't change the scenario. Its only when I add a sequence element to the WSRequest or WSResponse, then the code is generated. Also, it seems that AuthenicateUserRequest which references the WSRequest in the XSD, does not reflect in the generated code for the same reason stated above.
meaning AuthenicateUserRequest doesn't extend WSRequest.

    </complexType>whereever the tag <extension base="" /> is used as shown above, no code is generated. I just have a generated java code for complex type WSMessage and not for WSRequest.
It's only when I add an element to the WSRequest such as,
    <complexType name="WSRequest">
         <complexContent>
              <extension base="tns:WSMessage" >
<sequence>
<element name="param" type="xsd:string" minOccurs="1" maxOccurs="1"/>
</sequence>
                    </extension>
         </complexContent>
    </complexType>the java code is generated for WSRequest.
Can you help me on this.
