List servers in a cluster ?

Is there any way to get the WL servers running in a cluster (machine and port#)?

Yes there is, but it is all internal.

  • Error while starting managed servers in a cluster

    Hi,
I have Weblogic 8.1.3 deployed on my system. We've have a Ant script that set's up the project domain etc. We have an admin server and two other managed servers which are part of a cluster. I am able to start the admin server and access the admin console without any errors. However when I start any of the managed servers in the cluster, using the following command (startManagedWebLogic.cmd Reactor-1 http://localhost:80 OR startManagedWebLogic.cmd Reactor-2 http://localhost:80)
I get the error listed below. The same Ant script was used to setup the project on another system and it worked but I haven't been able to set it up on my system.
The error says that it could be due to servers having duplicate names in the cluster but thats not the case here, the managed servers are named Reactor-1 and 2.
Also, the IP address being accessed, 192.168.141.50:81 is not my system, its another system on the network. I've done a full text search for the IP address but I've not been able to find it in ANY file under c:\bea.
Can someone please tell me if I've missed something? I'd appreciated any help with this.
              Thanks
              Ameeth

  • Need help: Deployment of application on multiple admin servers in a cluster

Forwarding this to the weblogic.developer.interest.clustering group as well:
              Hi,
I have created two admin servers and one managed server on each of them. Then I have added these two managed servers to both the admin servers.
So I have two admin servers and a cluster having two managed servers.
Now, if I deploy through one of the admin servers to the cluster cotaining both managed servers, i can see the deployment happening when I log on to the admin server from which I tried the deployment. IF i log onto the other admin server I do not see the deployment happening.
Interestingly, if I restart both the managed servers from the second admin server, i can see the deployment from the same one but now, if I loginto the first admin server, I see the deployment missing!
Is this a normal behaviour? Is there any way in which we can see the deployment from both the admin servers?
              Thanks in advance,
              -Sen

Why do you have two admin servers? How many config.xml files exist? Are both admin servers pointing to the same domain if so how is the domain shared? Are both admin servers on the same box? Are they supposed to be the same domain? I'm just trying to understand why it is configured this way.

  • JNDI bindings not being replicated across servers in a cluster

According to the Weblogic Server documentation, JNDI bindings are
automatically replicated across the servers in a cluster.
              http://www.weblogic.com/docs45/classdocs/weblogic.jndi.WLContext.html#REPLIC
              ATE_BINDINGS
This is not proving to be true in my testing. Perhaps it's "just broken", or
perhaps my cluster isn't correctly configured...
Here is a reproducible case. Install the following on two or more servers in
a cluster. You'll need to change line 26 of test1 to reference one of the
              servers explicitly.
Test 1 works fine, since both web servers connect to the same server for
JNDI usage. The test should return the last host to hit the page, along with
the current host name. Alternating between servers in the cluster will
alternate the results. However, the fact that I'm specifically naming a
server in the cluster breaks the whole point of clustering -- if that server
goes down, the application ceases to function properly.
Test 2, which is supposedly the right way to do it, does not work, an error
              message is logged:
              Tue Jan 04 08:17:15 CST 2000:<I> <ConflictHandler> ConflictStart
              lastviewhost:java.lang.String (from
              [email protected]:[80,80,7002,7002,-1])
And then both servers begin to report that they have been the only server to
hit the page. Alternating between servers will have no effect -- both
servers are looking solely at their own copies of the JNDI tree. No
              replication is occurring.
What is up with this? Any ideas?

  • Migrating Standalone Grid Infrastructure Servers to a Cluster 11.2.0.1 Linux 5.9

Hey guys! Hope you all are doing good
I am kinda confused migrating my 11.2.0.1 Oracle Restart installation to a RAC two node (aim is to add a second node along with migrating the existing one to the cluster pool).
    Running on OEL 5.9 x86_64
I see that we can switch the RAC mode from 'off' to 'on' and use the existing clusterware binaries. I am trying to follow the below Oracle documentation for linux
6.2 Migrating Standalone Grid Infrastructure Servers to a Cluster
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/install.112/e41961/rem_orcl.htm#CWLIN347
In this document, I have completed step 5 which is de-configuring Oracle Restart. All smooth.
The problem starts here. Next step 6 says
Prepare the server for Oracle Clusterware configuration, as described in this document. In addition, choose if you want to install Oracle Grid Infrastructure for a Cluster in the same location as Oracle Restart, or in a different location:
You would have noticed that there's a note which says that the process uses config wizard which is available with rel 11.2.0.2 or later. Mine's 11.2.0.1.
    From the doc
    Note:
This procedure uses Oracle Clusterware Configuration Wizard, available with release 11.2.0.2 and later.
So how do I proceed from here? Can the existing binaries be used? If yes, how? Can't find much information. Thanks for your valuable time.
I hope I am not missing anything..
    Warm Regards
    Abhishek

Then why to they say for example here the following:
The Oracle GSD (Global Service Daemon) process, ora.gsd, is typically offline. You must enable Oracle GSD manually if you plan to use an Oracle 9i Real Application Clusters database on the Oracle Clusterware 11g release 2 (11.2) cluster.

  • BO XI 3.1 Servers In A Cluster Limit?

    Hi,
Does anyone know whether there is a limit to the number of physical servers that can be clustered together in BO XI 3.1 and if so is there a workaround to get past this limit?
The reason for my question is that currently have seven Windows 2003 servers forming a cluster and are getting ready to add an eighth and possibly a ninth and I would prefer to find this out before hitting a wall.

I don;t think there is  set limit. I have seen 20 server deployments, so you should be OK.

  • What should be the client url for managed servers in a cluster

    Hi guys,
I have created a cluster(cluster_1) having 4 managed servers. 2 managed servers on my machine(IP1) and 2 managed servers on other machine(IP2).
I am able to deploy a xxx.war file on my admin server
    also
I am able to deploy the same war file on my cluster
When I try to hit the client url, it gives me back the correct data, but it creates the session on the admin server and not the cluster.
If I remove the xxx.war file from the deployment(deployed on admin server) and redeploy the xxx,war file on the cluster, it gets deployed successfully , but the client url gives me a 404 error.
What should I do, so that after hitting the client url, it creates the session on the managed servers in the cluster ?
My admin server is not the part of this cluster.

    ip1: 10.25.63.130
    ip2: 10.25.63.131
    please help
    Salil

    Hi Salil
This is exactly what I mentioned in my earlier post. You CANNOT and should NOT expose the managed server url (host, port) to the end users. Because as you already figured out, you can specify only one. Or they cannot try one at a time like that.
This is where, the Load Balancer will come into picture like Apache Web Server. After installing Apache web server, usually it runs at default port 80. So you just expose the apache host to outside world. Also most companies will have Firewalls and Apache is outside of Firewall and all weblogic servers are inside the Firewall. In apache, you configure the weblogic cluster details like the host names and ports of each managed server etc in httpd.conf file etc.
Ex: For outside users, they may try like http://apachehost/myWeb/myHello.jsp -> apachehost is the host name where Apache web server is running at port 80. NOW Apache is smart enough to do Load Balancing and Failover. If 100 users access the site with 4 managed servers, ideally each managed server will get 25 requests (load balancing). Also if 2 servers are killed, automatically, request will NOT go to them, but to other 2 live servers etc etc. Apache takes care of this.
Bottom line, please see my earlier post, and you need to have some sort of Web Server like Apache for your cluster setup.
    Thanks

You can do what you want to do just fine. Hyper-V / Windows Server 2012 R2 can use SMB 3.0 share instead of a block storage (iSCSI/FC/etc). See:
    Deploy Hyper-V over SMB
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj134187.aspx
There would be no shared disk and no CSV just SMB 3.0 folder both hypervisor hosts would have access to. Much simplier to use. See:
Hyper-V recommends SMB or CSV ?
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/d6e06d59-bef3-42ba-82f1-5043713b5552/hyperv-recommends-smb-or-csv-
You'll have however a limited solution as your single physical server being a file server would be a single point of failure.
You can use Storage Spaces just fine but you cannot use Clustered Storage Spaces as in this case you'll have to take away your SAS spindles from your R720 box and mount them into SAS JBOD (make sure it's certified). So you get rid of an active components
(CPU, RAM) and keep more robust all-passive SAS JBOD as your physical shared storage. Better then a single Windows-running server but for a true fault tolerance you'll have to have 3 SAS JBODs. Not exactly cheap :) See:

Alternative way would be using Virtual SAN similar to VMware VSAN in this case you can get rid of a physical shared storage @ all and use cheap high capacity SATA spindles (and SATA SSDs!) instead of an expensive SAS.
    Hope this helped :)
StarWind VSAN [Virtual SAN] clusters Hyper-V without SAS, Fibre Channel, SMB 3.0 or iSCSI, uses Ethernet to mirror internally mounted SATA disks between hosts.

I am new to writing scripts. I will appreciate if I can get some help in writing a JMX script for monitoring JMS Servers in a cluster a well as monitoring the distributed queues
    thanks

    Exact scenario is,
              JMS Server
              |
              DistributedQueue
              | |
              JMSrvr1 JMSrvr2
              Q1 Q3
              Q2 Q4
Q1 and Q2 delegateing messages, and at the same time Q3,Q4 also delegating messages.
If JMSrvr1 down, we need to merge Q1 and Q2 with JMSrvr2. Here we cannot migrate as, JMSrvr already have queues. We need to merge all these queues.
              Thanks and Regards,
              Narayana Moorthy.

  • When deploying to Weblogic Server, JDeveloper is unable to list servers

I have created a BPEL project using JDeveloper 11.1.1.6.
Have created an Integration Server in the JDeveloper Application Server tab. While deploying the project using this Integration Server profile, JDeveloper is unable to list out servers. As a result, the NEXT button is grayed-out and the deployment prematurely halts and cannot continue any further.
When deploying to Integrated Weblogic Server, JDeveloper is unable to list servers.
I have taken the following actions:
In JDeveloper, the proxy setting was initially turned off. So, I have turned it on and given it a try too.
I have also gone through the proxy settings in my JDeveloper, proxy connection test was successful. I still dont see servers during development.
I have also followed all steps on JDeveloper Help Tutorial on "41 Deploying SOA Composite Applications" and no success.
Issue can be reproduced as below:
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
    1. Create a SOA BPEL Composite
    2. Try Deploying the Composite
    3. In the JDeveloper Deploy Wizard, notice the SOA server is not listed.
    Please advice.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
I am having the same issue, were you able to resolve this, would you be so kind to let me know what was the fix?
I have JDEV 11.1.1.6, both my admin servers and managed servers are up and running, I can create Application Server connection with no problem, but I don't see any servers under SOA servers list when trying to deploy a composite.
    Thank you,

  • List servers by site in AD

I have a script I am trying to run to list servers in a specific AD site. I am changing all of our DNS server info with a script, but need to break down our server list by site for the input file.
I found this one online, but cant seem to get it to work right in my test lab.
    Thank you
    $siteName =   "Default-First-Site-Name"
    $configNCDN = (Get-ADRootDSE).ConfigurationNamingContext
    $siteContainerDN = ("CN=Sites," + $configNCDN)
    $serverContainerDN = "CN=Servers,CN=" + $siteName + "," + $siteContainerDN
    Get-ADObject -SearchBase $serverContainerDN -SearchScope OneLevel -filter {objectClass}

Thanks. Maybe what I am trying to do isn't possible.
I am trying to get a list of ALL servers in a given site, not just DC's
The site container only lists the DCs for the site if one exists.
To get site membership of hosts (servers and workstations) you must define the subnets and the servers are then identified by subnet.
You should always complete your domain/forest by defining all sites and subnets.  You should also define your servers, printers and other objects by setting their location.  This is a canonical path that is used to match physical resources such
as printers to user requests.  It is how users find nearby printers even if they are roaming on a laptop.
    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • Potential dynamic server list updating problem in cluster

We are running a cluster of four Windows 2000 Server boxes under WLS
6.1SP2. We have seen the following behavior in our cluster. We shutdown
a cluster member and then bring it back up. When it comes back up, the
IIS plug-in seems to start routing all requests to that new server.
Out cluster seems to have some multicast connectivity problems, e.g. we
often cannot see managed servers on the admin. console, etc. What I'm
wondering is whether the server when it comes up could be telling IIS
that it is the only cluster member because it isn't aware of any other
members. This would explain the plug-ins sudden affinity for the new server.
Is this possible? Has anyone seen this?
              Thanks in advance,
              Coty
P.S. The box that is being restarted and then hogging the requests is
also the server where the admin. console is running. Could that be the
issue? What exactly are the implications of running a managed server and
the admin. console on one box?

Is it that the admin server is also part of the cluster and is the server
              that is being restarted?
Try to have the admin server for purely administrative tasks and not as part
              of a working cluster.
If you have Debug set to ON in the plugin end, try checking the server list
              http://IISServer:port/dummyQuery?__WebLogicBridgeConfig
This should return the dynamic and static server list that the IIS proxy is
              supposed to forward.
Check before restart and after restart.
Also contact support to get the newest ISAPI plugin that contains latest
              fixes.
