Listprices in Euros, company currency in GBP variabe exchange rate.

Hi
I'm new to the forum so please excuse any etiquette slip ups..
We are based in the UK part fo a larger european group. Our plant / company currency is GBP, we plan to wswithc to Euro list pricing to being it into line with Euro zone. We need a mechanism to switch the exchange rate in the sales order from EUR to GBP at a rate that can be altered by the user on an order by order basis. At the moment as the base currency is GBP the rate is fixed at 1.00 even though the EUR prices have been converted. anyone got any ideas, our techies are scratching their head..
Regards
Gareth

Hi Bowengar,
If i understand your requirment, you want the possibility of user changing the currency in each sales order . First of all currency in (Document) sales order gets defaulted from the customer master which can be changed manaully in the sales order by "gotoheader salesdoc currency". Her the currency can be change by user. and When it comes to the exchange rates , system determines the exchange rate based on the entries maintained in the table "TCURR"(Transaction "OB08). You can specify the exchange rate type in customer master and for the exchange rate type and from GBP-EUR, YOu can maintain the rates in OB08. If you want the exchange rate which gets passed to accouting, user can always enter it manually in sales document headerAccounting tab.  Once you process the delivery and want to create the billing document ,system takes the exchange rate to be determined based on the option specified in to copy control "VTFL" at the item level/Kindly please let me know If you need any more information on this.

  • Parallel currencies - Same currency but 2 different exchange rate type -

    Hi Expert,
I need your knowledge - I want to create a romanian company with 2 currencies - the first one will be RON company currency with the standard exchange rate type used for all others company of the group (maintained monthly from German National Bank exch.rate)
The second one will be also RON, currency of the trading partner, but with a specific exchange rate type (maintained Daily from the Romania National Bank)
I would like to work in this way to satisfy the group, which need to work with a monthly exchange rate for X reasons, and our Romanian company for which the daily exchange rate is mandatory.
If you have some experience on it, please give a feedback, not in detail (certainly to much work) but at least if I can go on this way or not. if you know a black point in some transaction (I think to the fixed assets, or stock valuation ....) and if you have an advice to have the correct value in RFBILA00 for example.
Thanks a lot for your help

There are many approaches for different exchange rates maintainence.
Here are the information required to process your query.
    1. How many company code  do you have in your company
    2. what is group currency maintained at client level
    3. Do you use special ledger or under new gl
    4. will you customer allow to deviate from the iso standards of currency maintainence like RON for romanian to ZRO for same romanian currency.
Expecting input for processing your query.

  • AP GBP Invoice Exchange Rates incorrect in MRC SOB

Our functional currency is GBP. AP is picking up GBP invoice dates as the exchange rate date meaning USD equivalent(in MRC SOB) is picking up the exchange rate associated to the invoice date. Which is wrong and should be picking up the payment rate date.
Oracle say that MRC uses the exchange rate date to determine the rate. For our GBP invoices this field is not available. Therefore, this field is null and it will then use the transaction date.
Has anyone else experienced this? If so, what is your workaround - if any?

    Hi All,
There was a supplement on a wbs of 50000 DKK (transaction curr) and corresponding amount is 61400 sek in CO curr.
After 1 yr , theere was a supplement of -50000 DKK and corresponding amount in CO area curr is -71000 sek becoz the exchange rate was diff for this period.
Now the net value at transaction area currency is zero for the wbs, but at co area currency the net is not zero.
How to make the budget amount to zero at controlling area
    thanx in adv.
    //ashis

    Hi
If it is one time transaction and you want to net off the values then take help of FI consultant. Maintain the currency exchange rates between the two currencies exactly same as earlier value (when earlier supplements were posted). Then remove the budget so that system will consider the exchange rate and will net off the value.
Note that maintainance of currency exchange rate can be possible for 1 day even and immediately you can change the rate as per existing rate.

  • Exchange rate EURX not calculate exchange rates between USD and GBP

We have set ExRt as following:
    Exrt          Usage       Ref. crcy
    EURX     EMU      EUR
we have "EMU" flag checked also.
We are maintaining exchange rates (EURX) for EUR with all others currencies.
We expected that, if we have a CoCode set in GBP and we post a document in USD, SAP will calculate GBP <->USD from exchange rates EURX(USD/EUR) and EURX(GBP/EUR). It seems to be incorrect because the system is ignoring EURX exchange rates and using "M" GBP-USD exchange rate and this was not expected by us.
Could you please tell me if it is correct to expect SAP calculates USD-GBP Exchange rates from EURX(USD/GBP) Exrate or I am wrong and I need to maintain "M" exchange rates for USD-GBP.

  • Group Currency  Exchange rate type.

    Hi
We wanted to post a foreign currency document, with a specific Exchange rate, that is specified in the Document type.
Doument Currency is getting converted into Local Currency (Company code currency) based on the exchange rate type specifed in the Document type used for posting.
But, the Group Currency is getting converted from Document currency based on the Exchange rate type : "M" but based on the Exchange rate type specified in the Document type.
Is there any way, apart from specifying Exchange rate type in Parallel Currencies.
We wanted the conversion of Both Local (Company code) & Group currencies be converted based on the Exchange rate type specified in the document type, for some specific postings.
    Following is our Scenario :
    Co.Code Cur - EUR
    Doc.Cur          GBP
    Grp Cur           USD
Document type : XY -- Exchange rate type "1111" specified in the document type.
Now when a document is posted with Document type "XY"  in Document Cur : GBP.
Both Local & Grp currency to be converted based on the Exchange rate type " 1111".
    Thanks
    Kalyan

    Hello Kaylan,
I will try to explain the system behavior, regarding to the exchange
rate question, "M" is standard exchange rate type used in R/3 so it's
not possible to change this default setting. However you can assign the
exchange rate type to each FI document type at transaction OBA7. The
exchange rate type assigned here applies to both online/batch postings.
Therefore you can assign a different exchange rate type to the document
types, but not per company code. The exchange rate that you customize at
document type level is validfor the first local currency. However, for
parallel currencies, the system will always use the exchange rate type
defined in transaction OB22. Please, check your customizing there to
    check your changes.
If you want to use exchange rate type B, for example, instead of M, in
customizing you have to give Alt Ex.Type as B against M. So that it will
take B rate whenever M is applicable. If you want this B rate to be
applicable for specific document types then you can do the same at
document type definition itself. Otherwise you can do the same at
payment program level/ Revaluation. These are the only places where
    exchange type comes into picture.

  • Intercompany billing exchange rate is not updated on change of the currency

    Hi,
I create a intercompany billing via VF01 with reference to a outbound delivery, and the currency is picking up from the customer master which is USD. But I need to change the currency to be the same as the PO which is GBP. So I change the currency field from USD to GBP in VF01 (both header and item level), the exchange rate field remain unchanged and still showing the USD rate instead, and the price is wrong.
Anyone know what happend to this? Appreciate your advice.
    Thanks,
    YH

    Hi Damu,
Once you change the header currency, line item currency will be changed also.
My problem is even I've change the currency to let say GBP, the exchange rate shown in the billing document is still in USD rate, but NOT in GBP rate.

  • Alternate Exchange Rate Type Not Picked while converting from Document Currency to Group Currency

    Hello Gurus,
We have setup an alternate Exchange Rate type MNB for rate M for the postings happening in Hungary. Local currency is HUF. Group currency is USD.
If the document currency is, lets say, EUR, latest MNB rate is correctly picked up (EUR to HUF) and postings are correctly converted into local currency (HUF).
Although, for the same document, when a group currency is being calculated (EUR to USD), exchange rate type M is being picked up. Same happens if  document currency is HUF. Even then, the conversion is based on exchange rate type M.
Is this a normal SAP behavior? How to prevent/correct this? This is also throwing off balances when we check in FAGLB03 or BSEG values in local and group currencies. In OB22, we have local currency1 and local currency 2 setup with exchange rate type M and we may not want to make any changes there as it is setup at global level.
Do we need to run any valuations after the fact? if so, how?
Thank you for your inputs in advance.
    Regards,
    Sagar

    Hi,
You mentioned that "in OB22, we have local currency1 and local currency 2 setup with exchange rate type M". Then, I'm wondering how MNB is picked up for the first local curr. conversion to HUF? It should be 'M' instead. There must be some settings in your instance for such behavior. Can you check that?
Actually, Group Curr. conversion happens with the rate defined for 2nd Loc.Curr.in OB22 which is 'M' in your case. Therefore, all the transactions are converted with M instead of MNB.
Since you can't change OB22 per global co.policy, the exch.rate defined in OBA7 will overrule OB22. However, you've to make sure it's set up for all doc.types which are affected and posted in different curr. than HUF.
As a workaround, another thought would be to maintain the same conversion rate for both exch.rate types MNB & M, for eg. HUF > USD rate is the same both exch.rate type MNB & M. This way, you ensure all transactions are posted with correct exch.rate irrespective of whatever rate type is used.
From business, & global org. perspective, I'm sure they are sending the 'M' exch.rates to all their sister concerns monthly, so they would like to consolidate results as per standard rate in their system. Then, why ,as a local company, would you like to fiddle with standard process? It's a management decision, please run them through again before going ahead.
    Thanks,

  • Exchange rate differences whne clearing documents in local currency

    Hello,
While clearing customer documents in local currency , the system calculates exchange rate differences in the clearing document. Even if the amount in local currency is 0, the amount in second local currency will have a value. The same is happening also when we clear GR/IR account. In the case of customer clearing, becuse for the exachange rate differences account  are maintaied default values in OKB9, the system cannot split, since there are 2 different account assignments when tolerances are also involved.
I think that, if the exchange rate differences account wont be popluated while clearing, i will be able to post clearing with tolerance amounts.
Any idea about how to make the exchange rate differences not to be caulculated for clearing in local currency?
    Thank you,
    S.

    Hi,
Go to OBY6 and choose your company code.
For your company code, the check box No forex rate diff. when clearing in LC should have been checked in case if you dont want to calculate the exch rate diff when clearing open items in LC.
    This will solve your issue.
    Thanks,

  • Exchange Rate Type per Company Code

    HI Experts,
In our system the conversion rates for EURX are maintained since there are several European companies working with the system.
Now we would like to use the same SAP-system for companies in China & Taiwan. In both countries there is an individual "official" exchange rate which does not equal the exchange rates stated from the German banks and thus fed into the system.
Is there any possibility to connect a company (code) with one particular exchange rate type? Since we are dealing with countries outside of the EU.
    Thanks in Advance
    Siva

    Hi,
as you may have recognized, the assignment cannot be made on company code (or country) level, but only on currency level. In particular, this is table TCURF.
When (almost) all possible currency combinations (from-to) are redirected to rate type EURX, then this looks like standard SAP delivery settings that you can freely change according to your needs.
If you are not familiar with TCURF maintenance, however, you should be very careful here and test every change before importing it to the productive environment.
The basic idea that I have always followed for the same or similar requirements is that local rules for a particular rate type are always control the rates to be applied when converting from any foreign currency to the currency of the particular country.
If you are a China company and your local company code currency (curr.type 10) is CNY, then you have to make the following changes to table TCURF:
First, find out all the foreign (non-CNY) currencies that you are dealing with. This may include EUR, USD, and any other currency of the world.
Then, determine (or create) a new exchange rate type in table TCURV. This should be the rate type for your "own" rates. Let's name it rate type "L" (for Local rates). Note: you can use the standard M rate type as well, but it is more transparent if you define a separate one.
Then have a look into table TCURF and find the entries as follows:
    Rate type: M
From-currency: all that you are using in your business (all non-CNY that you use)
    To-Currency: CNY
Valid-from: find the recent entry for each combination
With all of these entries displayed, you will find that the alternate exchange rate type field (ABWCT) in these entries is set to EURX.
Now you want to create a new TCURF entry as follows:
    Rate type: M
From: the same foreign currencies as above
    To: CNY
Valid-from: a newer date than the last current entry
Alternate exchange rate type: L (your new rate type) - in case you want to use just M, then leave ABWCT empty.
If you are using the L type (which I recommend), then you have to add 2 new entries to TCURF for each foreign currency:
    1.
    Rate type:  L
    From: foreign curr
    To: CNY
    Valid-from: 1.1.1800 (yes!)
Ratio from and to: as you want, it should be the same as in the corresponding M entry, usually 1:1, but it depends
Alternate exchange rate type: leave it blank.
    2.
    Rate type:  L
    From: CNY
    To: foreign curr.
    Valid-from: 1.1.1800 (yes!)
Ratio from and to: as you want, it should be the same as in the corresponding M entry, usually 1:1, but it depends
Alternate exchange rate type: leave it blank.
Finally, in OB08, you have to maintain rates like
type L,  foreign curr to CNY
    You are done
What is happening is the following (example you post a document in USD in your China company code)
Doc.currency USD --> must be converted to your local currency CNY
First, the system looks the current ratios for the M entry:
M, USD to CNY, valid from: recent, 1:1 and ABWCT = L !!!! (the entry you have added before)
Then it checks the ratios for L:
L, USD to CNY, valid from 1.1.1800, 1:1, ABWCT = blank
Based on TCURF, the system will look for the current rate entered under rate type L, your local rate )
Now what if a USD-based company has to post something in CNY? No changes there as the TCURF settings were not touched. They should look like this:
M  CNY to USD, alt.exch.rate type EURX (or blank)
If it is EURX, then the rates enterd under EURX rate type (once USd to EUR and then CNY toi EUR) are read and the cross-rate CNY to USD is calculated.
If it is blank, then the rate entered under rate type M is used.
In both cases, no change to your current process.
It works similar if the company code is EUR based.
The main idea is: redirect all M entries in TCURF where <anycurr> to CNY to the new rate type L, but leave all other TCURF entries untouched. Direction <any> to CNY are only relevant for the China company code, the rest of the world does not care about that conversion. They might be interested in conversions like CNY to <any>, like in the above example, CNY to USD, or CNY to EUR, but that could be their German or ECB rate, you do not have to care about.

  • Exchange Rate type Assignment to Company Code

    Hi,
I'm working on the implementation of a new company code on a SAP R/3 4.6c release. I've created a new exchange rate type EURH (with transaction OC47) and I would like to know hot to assign it to my new Company Code.
Is there a specifc standard transaction? Could you please suggest me a possible solution.
    Thanks!

    Hi
Exchange rate type you cannot assign to a company code. Where as you can specify explicitly while document entry.
By default in SAP for a new company code system will use 'M' rate as standard. If you want to replce this exachange rate type with your new exchange rate type then goto SPRO --> General Settings --> Currencies --> Define transilation ratios for currency translation
Maintain new exchange rate type as Alt.ERT against 'M' rate then system will take new exchange rate instead of 'M' rate. Otherwise as I said earlier, you can use created exchange rate type in any company code by specifying in document entry or payment program, or  you even can assign ex.rate type to a Document type, etc.,
    Hope above helps.

  • Exchange rate maintainance as per company code or ledger in OB08

    Hello,
Is it possible to maintain exchange rate as per company code or ledger in exchange rate table.
If not, please suggest any other alternative where I can maintain exchange rate as per company code or ledger.
    Regards,
    Tapan

In table T882, you can see ledger and company code assignment; with currency keys and additional currency types used for company code/ledger. You have option to choose the currencies at ledger and company code level, but not the currency type. Exchange rate type 'M' is used and even hard coded in many programs/transactions for actual postings. In planning, to some extent you have the option to choose exchange rate type, default is 'P'.

    hi friends,
am creating PO thru BAPI_PO_CREATE1...in the input file, i have given currency as USD and Exchange rate as 0.5, but in the created PO, i am able to see only 1 as the exchange rate...i even tried changing it using BAPI_PO_CHANGE, but no luck..but in case of local currency, which is EUR, am able to translate from the file whatever the value as exchange rate of the PO...this problem only comes if it's a foreign currency..am i missing something? pl advice
    Regards,
    Muthu

    Hai,
    Try like this:
If you are populating Header conditions you must divide it by 10 as following:
    wa_hdrcond-cond_value = wa_hdrcond-cond_value / 10.
If you are populating Item level conditions you must follow as:
    IF wa_itmcond-currency IS INITIAL OR
         wa_itmcond-currency EQ '%'.
        wa_itmcond-cond_value = wa_itmcond-cond_value / 10.
      ENDIF.
This will solve your problem. In the BAPI, it multiplies exchange rate by 10 for the header conditions.
Where as Item condition value(exchange rate) is multiplied by 10 when it satifies the above conditions.
So we must follow the same criteria as we did above.
