ListRest with includeEmptyValues gives unexpected result

I believe I've encountered a bug in Coldfusion 9 and 10.  Whenever includeEmptyValues (the third parameter) of ListRest is set to true it appears to return the entire list with no elements removed.
I've verified this behaviour with the following test.
<CFSET olst = 'a quick red fox jumped over the lazy brown dog'>
<CFSET rlst = ListRest(olst, ' ', true)>
<CFDUMP var="#rlst#">
The result is "a quick red fox jumped over the lazy brown dog".

Yep, it was reported over two years ago, and Adobe - apparently - don't have enough time to fix it. Which is disappointing, given how easy it must be to fix.

  • Calling PL/SQL Procedure In Another Schema Gives Unexpected Result

    I have a SQL Script that does this:
    conn pnr/<password for user pnr>;
    set serveroutput on;
    exec vms.disable_all_fk_constraints;
    SELECT owner, constraint_name, status FROM user_constraints WHERE constraint_type = 'R';
    and the disable_all_fk_constraints procedure that is owned by user 'vms' is defined as:
    create or replace
    procedure disable_all_fk_constraints is
    v_sql   VARCHAR2(4000);
    begin
    dbms_output.put_line('Disabling all referential integrity constraints.');
    for rec in (SELECT table_name, constraint_name FROM user_constraints WHERE constraint_type='R') loop
    dbms_output.put_line('Disabling constraint ' || rec.constraint_name || ' from ' || rec.table_name || '.');
    v_sql := 'ALTER TABLE ' || rec.table_name || ' DISABLE CONSTRAINT ' || rec.constraint_name;
    execute immediate(v_sql);
    end loop;
    end;
    When I run the SQL script, the call to vms.disable_all_fk_constraints disables the FK constrains in the 'vms' schema, whereas I wanted it to disable the FK constraints in the 'pnr' schema (the invoker of the procedure). I know that I could make this work by copying the disable_all_fk_constraints procedure to the 'pnr' schema and calling it as "+exec disable_all_fk_constraints;+" from within the SQL script but I want to avoid having to duplicate the PL/SQL procedure in each schema that uses it.
    What can I do?
    Thank you

    You have two issues to solve.
    First you need to write a packaged procedure that works with INVOKER rights. The default is DEFINER rights.
    The difference is excatly what you need. Usually the package has the rights from the schema where it is defined (=Definer rights). In your case schema VMS. Whereas you need the privileges from the user that calls the package (PNR).
    => Check out the documentation for INVOKER rights
    The second problem is that the view "user_constraints" will not give the results you expect when called from inside a procedure in another schema. An alternative could be to use the view DBA_CONSTRAINTS with a filter on the owner (where owner = 'PNR'). Not sure if there are other working possibilities. Well you could create a list of constraint names that you want to disable, instead of creating the list dynamically.
    And you could have another potential disaster creeping up upon you. If you run this thing, then at this moment you don't have any referential integrity anymore. You can't be sure that you can create the FKs again after this action. This is EXTREMLY DANGEROUS. I would never ever do this in any kind of production or test database. I would be very careful when I do it on a development database.

  • Problem with sdo_relate returning unexpected results

    I am having a problem with an oracle spatial query not returning what I feel is an appropriate result.
    I have a bounding box that has 6 points from a table that should be inside it. There are several hundred points total in this table. I perform the following query and oracle returns only 4 points, well 5 but we will get to that later, within the area of the search.
    SQL> Select feature_id
    From city_points A
    where (MDSYS.SDO_RELATE(A.GEOM, mdsys.sdo_geometry(2003, 8307, NULL, mdsys.sdo_elem_info_array(1,1003,1), mdsys.sdo_ordinate_array(-101.8417,-52.8083,-23.8417,-52.8083,-23.8417,-13.8083,-101.8417,-13.8083,101.8417,-52.8083)), 'mask=ANYINTERACT querytype=join') = 'TRUE');
    I used a different application to perform the same type of query. The difference is that the application does the spatial query, not oracle. Further the application gets all of the points and performs this query on the client. What the application returns is correct both visually and spatially.
    Two of the points not returned in the oracle spatial query are 300km inside the bounding box. This far exceeds the .5 m tolerance used in our decimal degrees data set (SRID 8307).
    I have experienced this problem on 9.2.0.1. I then patched that instance to 9.2.0.7 and duplicated the problem. I then exported the data and imported into a 10g release 1 database and again duplicated the problem. I have tried to re-index the data to no avail.
    I have also tried different querytypes also yielding less than expected results.
    The data looks like this:
    243
    SDO_GEOMETRY(2001, 8307, SDO_POINT_TYPE(-58.45, -34.6, NULL),NULL, NULL)
    254
    SDO_GEOMETRY(2001, 8307, SDO_POINT_TYPE(-56.18333, -34.883334, NULL), NULL, NULL)
    377
    SDO_GEOMETRY(2001, 8307, SDO_POINT_TYPE(-70.666671, -33.449999, NULL), NULL, NULL)
    385
    SDO_GEOMETRY(2001, 8307, SDO_POINT_TYPE(-68.149999, -16.5, NULL), NULL, NULL)
    388
    SDO_GEOMETRY(2001, 8307, SDO_POINT_TYPE(-47.916667, -15.783333, NULL), NULL, NULL)
    427
    SDO_GEOMETRY(2001, 8307, SDO_POINT_TYPE(-57.640066, -25.270295, NULL), NULL, NULL)
    The number is the id field, the rest is the geometry.
    The oracle spatial query above only returns id #s 359, 377,243,254,427
    There are five returned records. The extra value is outside the bounding area. So it should not have been returned at all. It is all too strange.
    I have seen this with different geometry types (points lines and area) as well.
    If anyone has suggestions, I would appreciate your comments.
    Thanks,
    John

    John,,
    What you are seeing is the behavior you should expect in the geodetic space.
    When you have a very long line connecting from longitude -101 to -23, that line
    does not follow the same latitude value.
    Since these points are in southern hemisphere, the line connecting them
    will curve downward (this is the great circle line).
    If you really want a line connecting with constant latitude, you should
    use the MBR type for the window geometry which densifies the
    lines along constant latitude before passing it into relate.
    SDO_GEOMETRY(2003, 8307, NULL,
    sdo_elem_info_array(1,1003,3),
    sdo_ordinate_array(-101.8417,-52.8083, 23.8417,-13.8083))

  • InDesign CS5 - Enter and Return keys give unexpected results

    I've been using CS5 for just a few days (Mac Pro, Mac OS X 10.6.3). I've noticed that the Enter and Return keys aren't always behaving as expected. Enter doesn't give me a column break, shift-Return doesn't give me a line break but a new paragraph, and more often than not I can't select the default option in a dialog with either Return or Enter. I've just read cpsid_84345, which says this is an issue in German and Swedish language versions, but I'm using English. The 7.01 update doesn't seem to be available. Any advice?

    That the KBSC files are XML doesn't guarantee faultless migration from one version to the next, probably because Adobe just forgot to cope with importing KBSCs from previous versions. It's great that InDesign offers you such flexibility with the KBSCs, but it's terrible that the implementation has been so sloppy in at least the three last versions (maybe earlier versions, too, but I try to repress the memories).
    Some people have been asking Adobe to make KBSCs scriptable. This would enably you to maintain a small database with KBSCs which a script could read and feed into a new version of InDesign, or redo a KBSC file after it has become corrupt, or whatever minor or major mishap.
    The more people ask for this the better: go to http://www.adobe.com/support/feature.html and request script access to the KBSCs.

  • Collapsed rows give unexpected results in a grid

    Hi,
    For learning purposes, I am working on the sample which comes with SDK called: 19.Grid.
    I have modified the basic sample as follows:
    I have added a checkbox column
    I have added code to color the row which is ticked. It ticked = blue, if unticked = gray
    I retained only 2 collapse levels:
    CollapseLevel = 0 for the radiobutton "No Grouping"
    CollapseLevel = 1 for the radiobutton "Card Code"
    The relevant code I used is shown at the bottom of this thread.
    oGrid.CommonSetting.SetRowBackColor(pVal.Row + 1, newColor)
    When I group on Card Code and Expand all rows, the code for background color works fine:
    When I tick any checkbox, the row becomes blue.
    When I untick the checkbox, the row returns to gray.
    No problem at all here..
    Problem:
    Problems arise when some rows are collapsed.
    The attached picture explains the problem better than words.
    It seems that when there are collapsed rows ABOVE the relevant checkbox, then pVal.Row is not working properly.
    If I expand all rows, the rows are correctly colored when I tick a checkbox.
    Request:
    Anybody knows what is happening, and propose a solution?
    Thanks

    Hi Maik,
    Thanks for your reply, but I'm still shrouded in mystery.
    >> the value is set in the row before :
    >> 1. row is leaf
    >> 2.lastbranchExpanded = true
    Do you mean this line?
    Dim lastbranchExpanded As Boolean = True
    Even if I set it = False, the code works perfectly!
    Anyway, it is = True only initially.
    If the row is a leaf, this value is set to = False, so it is no longer = True
    If the row IS NOT a leaf, this code is executed:
    If Not oGrid.Rows.IsLeaf(i) Then
                        lastbranchExpanded = oGrid.Rows.IsExpanded(i)
    and it returns False.
    Yes! Here lastbranchExpanded IS INDEED EVALUATED (to False)
    But if the row IS a leaf, the above code IS NOT executed
    and hence, there is nothing to set the value of lastbranchExpanded to True.
    Notice that the initial value (True) has already changed to False.
    Nowhere in your code is there something to set the value of lastbranchExpanded to True
    Your code only says that if lastbranchExpanded  =True, then expandedleafs += 1
    I still cannot see WHERE the value of lastbranchExpanded is set to TRUE in the first place.
    Really,I am in thick mud. Hope you can enlighten me!
    Best Regards,
    Leon

  • $chaptertitlename gives unexpected results

    Not sure if this is a bug or a feature.  I wanted to use the chapter title name in the footer of my master pages so I went to the master page, deleted some static text i found there then tried to add the building block <$chaptertitlename> but what i got was the short file name instead.  Is there a fix for this?

    The <$chaptertitlename> building block wasn't really designed for what you're trying to use it for. It's for hierarchical books where you're using folders and templates.
    From the Help:
    Associate a template with a folder
    Associate a template with a folder to publish a cover page for the files in the folder. Any template associated with a folder is published like any other file in a book. Use the <$chaptertitlename> variable to include the folder name in the template associated with the folder. You can use this variable for a folder occurring at any level in a book.
    See also:

    http://blogs.adobe.com/techcomm/2009/06/numbering_in_hierarchical_books.html
    As Error suggests, use a running header/footer variable to reference the paragraph text of the chapter title tag.

  • [solved]lspci gives strange results

    I just reinstalled, and am trying to get my wireless card up and running.  I ran lspci, then lspci -nn, and it gives unexpected results.  Instead of listing things like vendors and such as intel, and ralink, it just lists non-useful stuff in a format like this:
    xx.xx.x Class [xxxx] Device [xxxx:xxxx] rev 40
    (where all x's are digits)
    what does this mean?  where is the useful information that I was expecting to find (like actual device names)?  What did I forget to do?

    Now I have Xorg up, so I'll post the output:

    Hey,
    There are no triggers on these tables im working with. A way to get around waht im tryin to do is have 2 application processes, one for the update and one for the insert. but to do this i would need them to be fired off using the same button.
    for example in my HTML Header having a function within a function.
    function pzrcut01Insert(){
    function pzrckt01Update(){
    var ajaxRequest = new htmldb_Get(null,&APP_ID.,'APPLICATION_PROCESS=update_pzrckt01',null);
    var ajaxRequest1 = new htmldb_Get(null,&APP_ID.,'APPLICATION_PROCESS=PZRCUT01_INSERT',null);

    ajaxRequest1.addParam('x03', $v('P6_SYS_ID'));
    ajaxRequest1.addParam('x04', $v('P6_QWC_DELETE_CD'));
    ajaxRequest1.addParam('x05', $v('P6_QWC_CUS_ID'));
    ajaxRequest1.addParam('x06', $v('P6_COU_ID_QWC'));
    var Answer = confirm('Are you sure you want to update?');
    if (Answer) {
    gReturn=ajaxRequest1.get();
    if (gReturn) {
    alert(gReturn);
    ajaxRequest1.get();
    alert('Attempted Insert Processed');
    }else{
    alert('Attempted Insert Cancelled');
    would this be possible?

  • ITSM Search on status with "is not" gives incorrect results due to SLA statuses

    Hi,
    When executing a search on Solution Manager ITSM tickets, on the search criterion Status and with operator "is not", the result list does not give correct results.
    For example, an incident with status "Confirmed IRT Exceeded" does show up when searching with criterion "Status is not Confirmed".
    Is there any solution for this behaviour?
    Kind Regards,
    Joyca

    Hi Vivek,
    Thanks for the Knowledge Article.
    The content of the document would indeed help if we only wanted to find "not confirmed" tickets.
    However, the same thing is happening on other statuses. For example searching for "status is not proposed solution" is still not possible with the descriptions in the knowledge document, since the user status "proposed solution" is linked to system status "in process" (I1003), like all the other in-between user statuses such as "customer action" and "in process" etc.
    The only workaround that I see is to use only "is" as operator and never "is not". However, the underlying problem remains. I think it should be possible to use also "is not" without having issues due to those SLA statuses...

  • Building a method with more than one result data

    Hi, everyone:
    I'm a little shy to ask this question, however, it's been hanging in my mind for so long, so I think I'd rather make a confession on it. You may laugh at me if you want, I'm ready for that, but I more look forward to that someone can really give me the light, or even the link, or some hint....
    For your ease of reading, I give the question first, and my whole story behind:
    When I need a method which can provide more than one result( in other words, multiple outputs), how can I do it in Java? As I know, either you pass and object, or the result of the function is an object will do , for the object contains the datas you want, but that means your needs for those data have to be defined in object format in advance, won't that be inconvinient? Or Java has a better solution for that?
    //And here's the whole story....
    I began my career as a programmer by starting with LabVIEW, it's a graphical programming language made by National Instrument, and it's powerful on DAQ, and industrial field. One of the most important issues on design is to devide your system into multiple functions( in its own term: subVI), I think it's just like applying structured analysis method.
    When we dealing with functions in LabVIEW, a programmer can define his own function with mulitiple inputs and outputs, for example, I can design a function called SumAndDevide, which accepts two input ( two variables to be summed and devided) and gives two results( result of summing and that of deviding).
    The methodology has its power, at least it provide the functional decomposition, and you can compose a suitable solution in certain circumstance even they are not the smallest unit function. And testing is easy. It affects me so large that I look the trail of it when I come to other programming languages. In COBOL( well, that is a VERY old COBOL version ), I was scared to find there is no protection to the inner data on the performed sections, while making a outside subroutine to be called is cubersome and really a hard work. When I came to Delphi, I knew that using the result of a function cannot satisfy me, for it give only one output, even you can define it as variant, but I think it's vague to realize. So I use the difference of called by value and called by reference to handle the problem, that is: a value parameter for the input, and a variable paramter for the output.
    Well, when I came to Java, I am stunned again, now there is no passing by reference mechanism in Java, otherwise you have to pass it as an object, but that means when you need multiple outputs, the output has to be defined in object form in advance. And that will be very inconvinient!! I tried to find some solutions, but I can't. So is there any way that in Java you can define a method with multiple output? or Java handles the problem in totally different way?
    Any comments will be appreciated!!
    Thanks!!

    You missed the most common OO solution - separation of concerns and implementation hiding.
    If you have a function which returns a string, that is one method of the object that provides the service.
    If you have a function which returns a real, that is a different method of the object.
    If both functions require common code, move that into a private method which is called by both. If the method is costly, cache the result.
    eg an aerodynamics properties class, which could be done as a multivalued return of (lift, drag), refactored to independent lift() and drag() methods, which delegate to an interpolate() method, which caches the interpolated value and uses mach, pressureHeight and _alpha to determine whether it should recalculate:  /**
       * Calculates the aerodynamic drag force at a given mach, alpha and pressure height.
      public double drag (final double aMach, final double aPressureHeight, final double aAlpha) {
        interpolate(aMach, aPressureHeight, aAlpha);
        return _drag;
       * Calculates the aerodynamic lift force at a given mach, alpha and pressure height.
      public double lift (final double aMach, final double aPressureHeight, final double aAlpha) {
        interpolate(aMach, aPressureHeight, aAlpha);
        return _lift;
      private void interpolate (final double aMach, final double aPressureHeight, final double aAlpha) {
        if (aMach != _mach) {
          setMach(aMach);
          _pressureHeight = Double.NaN;
        if (aPressureHeight != _pressureHeight) {
          setPressureHeight(aPressureHeight);
          _alpha = Double.NaN;
        if (aAlpha != _alpha) {
          setAlpha(aAlpha);
    ... actual interpolation happens in the private setXXX methods.

  • P/L A/c for a single day gives different results for different users

    Hi!
         We have SAP B1 8.81 (PL 09) in our office. P/L Account for a particular date gives different value for a single account (Other Income Account) for one user and a consistent value for all other users. The user in question is a super user and does not seem to pick a specific entry posted in the Other Income Account for that day thus giving erroneous result. I have checked the Trial Balance for that day and it gives proper result. Only the P/L account gives erroneous data. Could anyone help with the reason for this.
    Thanks
    Sreekumar

    Hi Jitin,
              Thanks for your reply.
              I tried the way you mentioned. However, the result is the same.
              The entry that I'm talking about is an automatic journal entry posted through the Outgoing Payment option.
              To make it more clear, an outgoing payment to a vendor was posted on 05/19/11 for 1,42,178.32. The check was drawn only for 71,089.16 which was the correct amount and the remaining amount (71,089.16) got posted in the Other Income account. The P/L account for this date is not picking the amount of 71,089.16 in the Other Income Account.
    Thanks & Regards

  • 0I_FYPER - Variable in BEx gives no result

    Hello all,
    I have a problem in BEx-reporting after a releasechange from BW3.5 to BI7.0 and at the same time SEM-BCS4.0 to SEM-BCS6.0 which belongs to the variable 0I_FYPER. I use this variable in the columns (only) in order to give the user the possibillity to define which periods to show. In the rows I use the rest for defining which numbers to bring up. It worked in BW3.5/SEM-BCS4.0 fine.
    I debuged the content of the variable in user-exit ZXRSRU01 (after processing the selection screen) and could find the data I entered but the query gives no result. Any ideas?
    Thank you for any feedback,
    Chris

    Hi Guru,
    We have a work around for your issue. Just create a customer Exit variable on the calendar month and use it in the filter.
    In the customer Exit variable read the Plant variable and if it is empty populate # as result. Else read the calmonth input variable and populate it as the result.
    Use the following snippet to read input ready variables.
    DATA: loc_var_range LIKE rrrangeexit.
    READ TABLE i_t_var_range WITH KEY vnam = 'VARNAME' INTO loc_var_range.
    (loc_var_range-low will have the value of the variable)
    Hope this helps.

  • Do IMAQ Cast Image or IMAQ Linear averages give different results when using different computers that are running under Windows XP ?

    Hello
    I'm currently developping an image processing algorithm using Labview 7.1 and the associated IMAQ Vision tools. After several tests, I found a weird result. Indeed, I put the labview algorithm - including the IMAQ VI on the library to get sure that I use all the time the same VI - on my memory stick and used it on two different computers. I tested the same picture (still in my memory stick) and had two very different results.
    After several hours trying to understand why, I found that there were a difference between the results given by both computers at the very begining of the algorithm. Indeed, I used a JPEG file.
    To open it, I first create an Image with IMAQ Create (U8). Then, I open it.
    Then in my first sub-VI, I use IMAQ Cast Image to be sure that the picture is a U8 grayscale picture.
    Right after that, I use the IMAQ Linear Averages. The results of this VI are different on the two computers.
    I tried several time on the same picture : one computer always give me the same result but the two computers give me a different result. So there is no random variable on the results.
    So my question is : Do IMAQ Cast Image or IMAQ Linear averages give different results when using different computers that are running under Windows XP ?
    My bet is on IMAQ Cast Image but I'm not quite sure and I do not undestand why. The labview and IMAQ are the same on both computers.
    The difference between the two computer are above :
    Computer 1 :
    Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.20GHz with a RAM of 1Go. The processor is an Intel(R).
    The OS is windows XP Pro 2002
    Computer 2 :
    Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.80GHz with a RAM of 512Mo. The processor is an Intel(R).
    The OS is windows XP Pro 2002.
    If anybody can help me on this problem, it would be really helpful.
    Regards
    Florence P.

    Hi,
    Indeed it's a strange behaviour, could you send me your VI and your JPEG file, (or another file that reproduces) so that I could check this inthere ?
    I'll then try to find out what's happening.

  • Network Model  - Arcs create unexpected results

    Hello Spatial Users,
    I have created a road network using the "Automatic" Network Definition, loaded all the nodes and links, and everything seems to be OK. It all validates, links and nodes have the correct values. It is an undirected network.
    I can create shortest paths, but the issue I'm having is arcs within the links are returning unexpected results. It is as though the start of the arc is used and then it follows the arc and jumps back to the end of the line - so the shortest path is not the shortest with all this jumping from start to finish of the arcs within the line string.
    Do I need to convert the arcs to lines or am I missing something else? I was hoping that because it was 'undirected' this would resolve this issue.
    We are using 11.1.0.6.0.
    Thanks for your help,
    Kerryne

    Hi, Kerryne,
    NDM doesn't support arcs in its spatial path representation. For arcs it will only use start and end pt of the arc. You need to approximate arcs as linear segments for link geometry to get a more accurate path geometry.

  • NonLinearFitWithMaxIters does not give correct results for phase

    Dear all,
    I am trying to fit a sin cuve with NonLinearFitWithMaxIters function of labwindows, but the results given by this function are dispersed a lot (the function does not give same results).
    In fact, I have two waveforms signals v and i (of 104 points), and I  find the phase between the two signals with NonLinearFitWithMaxIters.
    The two singals v and i are  measured with an osciloscope.
    I use the following fit functions :
    v=p1*sin(wt+p2) ;
    i=p3*sin(wt+p4) ;
    I use the NonLinearFitWithMaxIters function to fit the data and to have the parameters  p1, p2, p3, p4. Then, the phase is claculated as follow phase=p4-p3.
    The problem is that the phase calculted between the two signals (v and i) is different for each run for the same conditions.
    In fact, for a same condition, I measure different times the signals v and i, and I calculate the phase p4-p3, using NonLinearFitWithMaxIters. The goal is to calculate a mean of phases for the same condition. For example, there are cases where the phase=-5 degree, and other cases when phase=12 degree.
    For ten measures of v and i, the phase calculated is different. I get a big dispersion between the phases.
    I would like to know please why I have a big difference in phases calculated with the same condition?whern using NonLinearFitWithMaxIters.
    I read that this function does not give all time the correct results, is there a way to know when the results are not corrects and when they are correct ?
    And is there any solution to find accuratly the phase between the two waveforms.
    Thank you for your precious answer.

    The pseudocode which I am using is :
    v_err=NonLinearFitWithMaxIters(array_x,array_v,v_y_fit,1252,100,sinus,v_coef,2,&v_mean_squareError);
    The fit function is
    double sinus(double x, double a[],int noef){
        return (a[0]*sin((w*x)+a[1]));
     I use the same inital coeficient of v_coef for each run :
    v_coef[0]=0.03;
    v_coef[1]=0.2;
    These coeficient are choosen arbitrary.
    In this case, the number of points of the data is 1252 (the data of array_v).
    The number of iterations is 100.
    For the array_x, the distance between adjacents values of the array is dt=0.4*1e-9(difference between array_x[i] anv array_x[i+1]=dt=0.4*1e-9 ).
    for (i=0;i<1252;i++){
    array_x[i]=i*(0.4*1e-9);
    The means square error returnned by the function when it is complished is  small, of the order of 0,001.
    I read the help
    « From the help:
    You must pass a pointer to the nonlinear function f(x,a) along with a set of initial guess coefficients a. NonLinearFitWithMaxIters does not always give the correct answer. The correct output sometimes depends on the initial choice of a. It is very important to verify the final result.
    That means that the function cannot be used, as it does not give correct results. How
    can we check if the results are good or not ? in my case.
    I think that in my case, the function does not give correct results, but how can I check if the results are good, or not ? The mean square error is small.
