Live view in DW 5.5 - no images display

Any help on this?
My DW 5.5 fails to display images (graphics) in the Live View mode.  They display properly in the Design mode and in a separate live browser session after I save the files.
I can't remember if I made any changes to the DW options but I don't think so.
This development is mainly just an inconvenience
Thanks in advance,
Tom

It happens on all pages of the site on which I was working (and recently created).  The Live view on this site worked fine when I originally created it (using DW 5.5).  I needed to make some modifications to the base layout so started a 'new site'.  Live View on the new site worked for a while then failed to display graphics correctly.
I tried re-creating the site cache (as noted reply 1) without success.
I thought maybe there was an error in the code somewhere so I created a fully new site in a new directory (I have a test server on my home network where XAMPP is running).  For this new site, I created 1 new html page, added one <Div> and inserted an image in the <Div>.  When I click on Live View, the same thing happens.  The Live View shows the image block but only displays a 'question mark' in the center.  I would thus say it doesn't seem to be an error in the page code itself!  Yes, the graphic files are present in the folder pointed to in the code (obvously, since they display in the 'design' view).
Since I still had the site created using David Power's tutorial (Check Magazine) that also had jpg and gif files displayed, I reloaded that old site.  The 'Live View' worked perfectly.
The page and graphics display correctly and fully when using the preview/view in browser option of DW and when loaded into a browser outside DW so, as I said initially, this problem is mostly an inconvenience; but, I would like to get it corrected!
As a note, I have never attempted to open or otherwise address DW's basic files.
Thanks,
Tom

  • Live view from java to flex - blinking image

    i am trying to simulate a live view using a canon Camera.
    I am interacting with the cam using the CanonSDK, i get an image every a short period in order to simulate a video frame by frame. This works fine, i am using java to do the backend and send the images trough BlazeDS to flex.
    The problem is not getting the image, the problem is that when i load a new image using something like:
    image.source=my_new_image;
    the new image is loaded but it produces a short white blink and it ruins the video...So i would like to know if there is a way to use channels of streaming or some way to pass the set of images in live view to flex and show them in the interface of flex from java.
    Thank you very much!
    Agustina

    I have this same problem in an SWF that I have an external image loading into. In another SWF, I don't have this problem. In one instance, the image is at the start of the movie clip and at the other it's on the last frame of the movie clip. My only suggestion would be to load as many of the images as you can off-screen and then put listeners on the images to know they are loaded before you show them. You can do that by:
    this.addElement(image);
    image.addEventListener(FlexEvent.UPDATE_COMPLETE, imageLoaded);
    private function imageLoaded(event:Event):void{
    //image is loaded...

  • Image Slider not appearing/visual in live view/Browser

    I updated a link to my image browser and once I hit refresh, everything seemed fine. I checked my rework on live view, and the whole slider (including images and buttons) were no longer visual. (You could not see them.)

    I checked in browser and you could also not see them there, either. The ONLY thing I changed was the link to the image. Here is the code, please let me know if you can help out at all.
    Joe

    Jon,
    I have not uploaded the page yet, because this issue came up and I did not want a non-functional part of the site available online yet. However, I have done the following:
    -Checked the link and that it is correct with no typo's, etc.
    -Checked the Javascript (there are no issues there, either.)
    I am going to download the original page from the server and compare once again to see if there are differences.
    I will post updates.

  • Certain images not appearing in Live View?

    Hello,
    I recently upgraded my Dreamweaver CS5 and have noticed that certain images are no longer appearing in Live View. When Live View is unclicked, both of the images appear in both Design View and Preview in Browser; however, when Live View is clicked, the question mark appears for new images that were not used in Dreamweaver previous to the update. Does anyone know a fix to this? I have already tried to uninstall/re-install the software. Thanks for your help.

    What is the exact code path to images?
    How big are your images (filesize)?  Did you optimize them for the web in your graphics editor before inserting them into your web page?  Are they saved as RGB and not CMYK?

  • Why page looks fine in Design view but not live view?

    I am new to DW. I created a page that looks fine in design view but now I cant get it to show up in live view or the browser preview. Can some one give me some areas to troubleshoot. Most of the code is from a previous page I created that still looks fine in every view. I am not sure what I could be doing different in setting up this site.

    Thanks for taking the time to reply to question. Aftr taking a break. I came back realized I inserted the stylesheet before I changed site settings. I just needed to remove the forward slash from my stylesheet declaration. FYI for anyone else new to DW: if stuffs not showing  in Live View and Browser Preview eg background images, Go to Manage Sites and check your site setting for Links relative to: You may have switched between document and site root. Thus breaking your links to images or in my case the entire style sheet.

    my index.html page looks okay in live view, but when i open it in safari some of my text is unformated. My CSS page is correct so the problem lies in my code. I have attached the html file, any help will be appreciated. Thank you!

    /* ~~ These are the columns for the layout. ~~
    1) Padding is only placed on the top and/or bottom of the divs. The elements within these divs have padding on their sides. This saves you from any "box model math". Keep in mind, if you add any side padding or border to the div itself, it will be added to the width you define to create the *total* width. You may also choose to remove the padding on the element in the div and place a second div within it with no width and the padding necessary for your design.
    2) No margin has been given to the columns since they are all floated. If you must add margin, avoid placing it on the side you're floating toward (for example: a right margin on a div set to float right). Many times, padding can be used instead. For divs where this rule must be broken, you should add a "display:inline" declaration to the div's rule to tame a bug where some versions of Internet Explorer double the margin.
    3) Since classes can be used multiple times in a document (and an element can also have multiple classes applied), the columns have been assigned class names instead of IDs. For example, two sidebar divs could be stacked if necessary. These can very easily be changed to IDs if that's your preference, as long as you'll only be using them once per document.
    4) If you prefer your nav on the left instead of the right, simply float these columns the opposite direction (all left instead of all right) and they'll render in reverse order. There's no need to move the divs around in the HTML source.

  • When changing to Live View Images do not display...

    Yesterday I was working on my website and it is still in the early stages so currently I have just a single image worked into my design.  When I was changing between my code and the live view everything was displaying just fine.  I saved my work yesterday and when I came back today I opened up the same file and found that everything appears fine in the code and the regular design view but as soon as I switch to the live view my images shows up as a tiny blue questionmark box.  I have not changed any code from yesterday- the image appears to be linked to correctly because it displays without a problem in th design view.  I am not sure what is going on- any help is appreciated!

  • Images broken in Design View, but work in Live View

    Dear Adobe,
    it appears that externally hosted images are not showing in the Design or Split screen view, but have no trouble showing in the Live view. I have had this error since fresh installing DW CC 2014 and had no issue with previous versions of DW. I have tried some of the options suggested around the web including reinstalling but the problem persists.
    Please someone tell me there is a solution to this problem as I could never image that something so simple could take me to the edge of my nerves. I am experiencing a drop in productivity since I am constantly switching between views and it's making the whole DW experience a drag as well since there is a sluggish lag when switching views.
    Sorry for the rant, hope you guys could help me out here
    Mitts64

    The display of externally hosted images has been problematic, and somewhat intermittent, in DW's Design View for a long time. A lot of us just work with local versions of the images (say for html emails) and switch out the local links out for absolute links to server hosted images as the last step using Find & Replace.
    I have pretty much stopped using Design View all together though and do most of my coding manually while Live View is turned on, so I'm not sure if this was supposed to be fixed in DWCC 2014 or not.

  • Live View not showing css or images.

    Hi
    Heres the issue:
    Images and css appear in Design View
    Images and CSS appears in Browser when I click view in browser
    Images and CSS dont appear in Live view (no css and question marks for images)
    Any ideas?
    I have previously built this into an android app that worked fine and have come back to DW after a few months of not using it just to make some small changes and this has spontaneously occured?! I havent changed any settings etc so not sure why its all of a sudden decided to do this!
    Thanks

    Above: Design View.
    Below: Browser View:
    And Now: Below is Live view:
    Im using Adobe CS6 and the last time I used it I didnt have this problem. I worked on a project for a few months using Live View and Browser View with no problems at all. Revisiting after a few months and this has suddenly started!!!!
    Thanks guys

    Is that the problem you're having?

  • Dynamic images show in "Live View", however not in browser

    I'm doing the CS5.5 Missing Manual Dynamic Website tutorial and have had no issues until I want to display an image for the online store.  When I click on Live View, everything looks great.  However when I want to preview in a browser, I only see the alt text with no image showing.  What on earth could be going on?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Dreamweaver CS4 Live View - background-image does not display

    I'm teaching a basic Dreamweaver CS4 class, and one of my students happened upon a unique problem.
    Although the students were not required to use LiveView for their assignment, the student noticed that when he clicked the LiveView button to look at his assignment, that the background-image property that he set on the #header DIV does not display.
    I tried duplicating his problem by building a similar site to his, using the exact same Dreamweaver Starter Page he used, but I'm not able to reproduce it the problem. If I define a new site using the files the student sent me, the problem comes back.
    I'm completely stumped. What could possibly be causing the background-image CSS property to stop rendering in Live View?
    Thanks for any help at all!

    Hi
    Check your students css code for invalid or missing mark-up, or linking to the background image. Another possible problem, (occurs on some sites but not all) is to check if the url is enclosed in quotes as these are occasionally required but not always, also check for spaces in file names
    e.g. - background-image: url(../images/yourimage.jpg); should work but occasional requires quotes as in - background-image: url("../images/yourimage.jpg");

  • Flickering problem with live viewing with IMAQ Image Display

    Hi everyone,
    I am trying to write a program to do live imaging with Andor camera. I am using some examples from Andor. The images are acquired in sequence and send into IMAQ Image Display and also Intensity Graph. There is minimal flickering issue in the Intensity Graph but there is very bad flickering problem in IMAQ Image Display. Perhaps I misunderstand how to optimize the vision tools. Does anyone know how to overcome this issue? I have attached the code that I am testing. Thanks in advance.
    Best regards,
    Han Yen

    You can use Vision Assistant to test our vision functions. Vision Assistant is really meant to prototype - it does not have all teh functionality of Vision Development Module and is not as flexible as we don't allow you access to all the settings for every function.
    I recommend starting in Vision Assistant and then porting over to LabVIEW or C (whatever you are most comfortable with)...this is built-in functionality. There is nothing wrong with using Vision Assistant to do live imaging, just that you run into limitations and you will only be able to use this code on computers that have Vision Assistant.
    Hope this helps.

  • For some reason CS5 cannot find localhost in live view.Image shown

    I was trying to open my wordpress blog in live view when I now get an error "Dreamweaver could not find the server "localhost". But it appears correctly in the address window.
    I can see the wordpress blog fine in "localhost/wordpress" using IE8. I am using wamp local server which is testing OK and working. I am on XP system.
    Also I notice the file folder colors in the file folder are
    local view are green
    remote view  yellow
    testing server  red
    I have reinstalled the program but no change any suggestions where to look.
    Thanks bob

    Hi Mike,
    I found some two mistakes that should solve your problems:
    1. typo: use "raw_value" with underscore, then the "category" works.
    2. The array support of the Generic Panel is limited to semicolon-separated term lists in a text field,
    where each term represent an array item.
    For example the "supplemental categories" property should look like:
    <xmp_property
         name="SupplementalCategories" category="external"
         label="$$$/stewart/Class=Classification:" type="bag" element_type="text"
         xmp_path="SupplementalCategories" ui:multiLine="true" ui:mru="true" description="..."
    />
    Hope this helps,
