LiveCycle Error
I am getting this error when I open my form. All I'm trying to do is calculate the sum of a few fileds to a totals field. Any suggestions?
This is what I have in the totals field which is field 14:
Sum(NumericField6.rawValue
+ NumericField10.rawValue + NumericField11.rawValue + NumericField12.rawValue + NumericField13.rawValue + NumericField14.rawValue);
Show: Calculate
Language: FormCalc
Run at: Client
I've tried to troubleshoot but nothing is working for me.

IFD Import into LiveCycle Error
I am able to open an .ifd file in Output Designer 5.5 but I receive an error when trying to import it into LiveCycle Designer. I receive the following message, "XML parsing error: no element found (error code 3), line 1, column 1, of file ..." Anyone have a clue about what the problem might be?
XML is a file type not /usually/ imported, but you should be
able to
create a text member and set it's filename to the XML file.
Try
something like (executed from your message window):
tMember = _movie.newMember(#text)
tMember.name = "XML document"
tMember.filename = "pathToXML"
tMember.linked = 0 -
LiveCycle Error on Data Connection
Here is my error:
GeneralError: Operation failed.
XFAObject.update:1:XFA:form1[0]:#subform[0]:Button2[0]:click
updateRecord operation failed. Non-nullable column cannot be updated to Null
It is saying that i have non-nullable fields, it is a check box that is just unchecked.Hi DeveloperMax,
According to your description, the error occurs when you execute the package with Agent job on clustered MSSQL 2012 Enterprise Nodes.
As per my understanding, I think this issue can be caused by you use SQL Server Agent to schedule a SQL Server Integration Services package in a 64-bit environment. And the SSIS package is referencing some 32-Bit DLL or 32-Bit drivers which are available
only in 32-bit versions, so the job failed.
To fix this issue, we should use the 32-bit version of the DTExec.exe utility to schedule the 64-bit SQL Server Agent to run a package. To run a package in 32-bit mode from a 64-bit version of SQL Server Agent, we can go to the Job Step dialog box, then
select “32 bit runtime” in the Advanced tab.
Besides, we should make sure that SQL Server Integration Services is installed on the failing environment.
If there are any other questions, please feel free to ask.
Thanks,
Katherine Xiong

Adobe Livecycle errors in server log
Hi All,
I get the following warnings after dev server is up and running. Not sure what the reason could be.
Please see the log attached.Hi Steve,

ProcessFormSubmission form submitted as pdf issue
Hi
I have a scenario where, the form must be submitted as PDF content_type, i.e while designing the form, I am setting the submit form as "PDF" format. I have written a J2EE application that receives the submitted form. Here is what, I am doing.
Document formData =
new Document(request.getInputStream());
formData.copyToFile(
new File("C:/home1/eformwas/InputFile.pdf"));
I ensured that the submitted content from the web browser is a pdf file by opening the InputFile.pdf in the acrobat reader and I verified that the form is siubmitted with the data that I have posted.
Next step, I wanted to process this form, and extract out some of the data elements in it. Hence I did the following
RenderOptionsSpec processFormSubmissionOptionsSpec =
new RenderOptionsSpec();
processFormSubmissionOptionsSpec.setXMLData(
true);processFormSubmissionOptionsSpec.setPDF2XDP(
true);processFormSubmissionOptionsSpec.setExportDataFormat(
"XMLData");
formsResultObject = formsServicesClientObject.processFormSubmission(formData ,"HTTP_REFERER=referrer&HTTP_CONNECTION=keep-alive& CONTENT_TYPE=application/pdf&CONTENT_TYPE=application/vnd.adobe.xdp+xml&CONTENT_TYPE=text/ xml",
"Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322)",
processFormSubmissionOptionsSpec);
When I execute the above code, I get the following error at processFormSubmission method,
Caused by: com.adobe.livecycle.formsservice.exception.FormServerException: Parse error on document: DataSets error: Parse error on document: FSRequest error: Content is not allowed in prolog.
Any idea, of what is causing this issue. Can I process a form that is submitted as "pdf" content type.? I guess, I can.
As a cross check, I created the whole scenario by creating a process in the LC process modeller and used the processFormSubmission task of the Forms Service and I was successful in processing the form. Not sure, am I missing to set something in RenderOptionSpec or is this a bug in LC SDK ?
LiveCycle error log, also reports the error when invoked through LC SDK API
[1/26/10 11:13:36:627 EST] 0000008a FormServerExc E com.adobe.livecycle.formsservice.logging.FormsLogger logMessage ALC-FRM-001-016: Parse error on document: DataSets error: Parse error on document: FSRequest error: Content is not allowed in prolog.
However, everything works like a charm if processFormSubmission invoked as part of LC process model. I even downloaded the data part as getOutputXML task in the process model and it looks well formed.
Will greatly appreciate your response.
Many Thanks
Gopala...Hi,
The issue got resolved. Just posting the solution to benefit other folks who can potentially face the same issue.
It worked by setting the content_type="application/pdf" only in environment buffer parameter of formSubmission when the submitted content is of type pdf.
Actually, I referred to the livedocs adobe article @ http://livedocs.adobe.com/LiveCycle/8.2/programLC/programmer/help/wwhelp/wwhimpl/js/html/w whelp.htm?&accessible=true
which specifies the following, which is contradictory to the solution.
"You can also specify multiple content type values such as:
CONTENT_TYPE=application/pdf&CONTENT_TYPE=application/vnd.adobe.xdp+xml
to ensure various form submissions can be used"

aI assume here that your application is deployed on a different physical machine of where LCES is deployed and running.
Do the following test:
- Say that LCES is deployed on machine1 and your application is deployed on machine2. Ping machine1 from machine2 and note the ip address.
- Ping machine1 from machine1 and note the ip address.
The two pings should match.
- Ping machine2 from machine1 and note the ip address.
- Ping machine2 from machine2 and note the ip address.
The two pings should match.
Usually this kind of error would happen if your servers have internal and external ip addresses. -

Errors while deploying LiveCycle Components in the Config Manager
Hi All
I've been having some problems with a LiveCycle deployment on Websphere. Here are some details about the environment:
- Windows 2008, Enterprise
- Oracle 11g
- WAS ND 6.1.0.29
- LiveCycle ES2.5
Installation works perfectly and everything in the config manager works perfectly until I get the page where it deploys the LC components (the xxx-dsc,jar and xxx.lca files)
At that page, when I click on deploy it fails on deploying any of the components.
The error message thrown by the config manager is code "Error [ALC-LCM-030-200]" and description "Failed to deploy component"
WAS log file is pretty long (considering that one exception is thrown for each component), so I won't repeat the whole thing here, but most of them look roughly like what I have below:

I have found a couple of forum posts that reference this issue, but none seem to provide a solution. Once suggestion that seemed reasonable was that the GDS folder was not writable, but that doesn't seem to be the issues.
Any help is much appreciated

PDF App works fine on Acrobat 7 but gives compilation Errors in Livecycle
Hello,
I have a PDF application that has been working fine in Acrobat 7 for years (for a Fortune 50 company). We had to upgrade our environments to Acrobat 8/9 and the same app either HANGS or Shuts Down when opened in Acrobat 8/9 (Reader and Professional). When I timed some sections of the code, I got down to the following statement (Click action of a button):
xfa.host.resetData(Home.APHomeSF.somExpression)
Where Home is a subform on page 1 and APHomeSF is a subform within Home form. This statement takes a fraction of a second in Pro 7 but 18 seconds in Pro 8. The APHomeSF subform has a checkbox, text field, date field and a button. Even when I changed the reset statement to resetting ONLY the checkbox:
xfa.host.resetData(Home.APHomeSF.FCB.somExpression)
Pro 8 still took 18 secs to reset the data. My question is that have any BASIC things changed in Acrobat 8/9 from Ver 7 that are deprecated or not supported, which may cause our application to take longer to run or just shut down.
I am using Livecycle Designer to edit the application. When I open the application in Livecyle and just save it, I get many "Argument mismatch in property or function argument" errors. Following is one of the places:
Generating PDF Document...
Font Service: Default font typeface is Myriad Pro.
Script failed (language is javascript; context is xfa[0].form[0].CopyContent[0].#subform[0].SPOA[0].SPOAdataRow[0])
script=viahScripts.noViahNulls();
var groupsArray = Builder.variables.soScript.getGroupsArray();
var name = CopyElementName.rawValue; // PROBLEM LINE
Error: Argument mismatch in property or function argument
Now, when I delete the line "var name = CopyElementName.rawValue" with the comment PROBLEM LINE, the error goes away. CopyElementName is just a drop-down list.
I don't understand what is wrong in this line for it to cause the Argument mismatch error.
Any help will be appreciated.... THANKS!

"Acrobat does not allow connection to website " error in Acrobat Pro X and LiveCycle
Hello,
I have a system running Windows XP SP3 that presents a dialog box with the above error when the user clicks on a URL link in a PDF file. When I went in to adjust the Trust Manager setting, they are all greyed out. If I log in as myself to the system, there are no problems. If I login as a local admin, there are no problems. We are not managing this security level in AD, so I am not able to determine why this one user can't use the URL link. Is there a registry key I can edit to modify the Trust Settings for this one user? Adobe Reader is not installed, but LiveCycle is. Both were installed using a CD/DVD.
Any help appreciated.
TIA,
TimKohCompare the Security (enhanced) and Trust Manager settings for yourself and the user on the same machine. If they are not identical, make them so. If that doesn't work,
I'm assuming the msg appears in a dialog and not the yellow msg bar.

Adobe LiveCycle ES 8.2 Installation Error can't configure the App Server from Config Manager
Hello All-
We are trying to install the Adobe LiveCycle ES 8.2 SP2 and we are getting some issues while configuring the Application Server from the Config Manager, not sure why are those showing up, we never had these issues before when we installed 8.0, please look at the lcm log and the screenshot I provided for the errors which we are getting.
We are trying to configure the remote Application Server WebSphere on Linux from my machine which is on Windows and i made the target Application Server as WebSphere and target platform as linux when i initially installed the livecycle media.
The LCM logs say it failed to run the jacl scripts in the LiveCycle root directory and we wonder why is it pointing for the target Application Server to the Application Server which resides on my machine rather than it should point to the one on server. I am not sure what's going on and we did exactly what we did for 8.0.
Below are the environment details where we are trying to install.
Adobe LiveCycle ES: 8.2 SP2
Database: IBM DB2 9.1 FP4.
JVM Version and Vendor: 1.5.0 IBM Corporation
Application server: IBM WebSphere Application Server/6.1.0.19
Operating System: Linux
Hardware: x86 .
Any help will be appreciated!
Thanks-
Karthik.Hi All,
Even i was facing the same issue but i was able to resolve it.
Although the earlier reply from karthik_chowdary was sent way back in 2008 and i think would have got resolved till now, but still the resolution which i have found is
The port i was using on the app server conf screen was that of application server HTTP Port.
But here in case of WebSphere ND, we need to use port specified in WAS UI > System administrator > Deployment manager > Ports
Try using that by default it is 8879.
And this resolved the issue.
