LMS 3.1 inventory discovering problem

Hello everyone
I have LMS 3.1 and we are facing issue in inentory as the job we creating was fail everytime to get inventory
Any recommendation for this issue

Surprisingly i have noticed ciscoworks is exceeding stdout.log file size about 28GB. within a 10 - 15 minutes Ciscoworks has started shutting off its processes. My drive has 0 bytes free
Can move this file somewhere on external storage just for back up & crate a blank stdout.log file ??
I suppose i should follow :
1. Stop crmdmgtd services
2. move stdout.log to external storage
3. Create new stdout.log blank file
4. Start crmdmgtd again.
Can you pl reply fast

  • Inventory Collection problem for RME 4.3.1 LMS 3.2

I recently upgraded from LMS 3.1 to LMS 3.2 and RME v 4.3.1. I have problems with the inventory collection. It will start scanning, but stops after approximately 10 devices. The rest of them will have a pending state. If I stop the collection job and start it again none (0) devices will be scanned. If I restart the ICServer it will result in the first option. That is, it will scan only 10 devices and then stop. I have extended the SNMP timeout to 30 secs and zero retries. Any suggestion would be appreciated

I have read through the dump and cant find anything in particular. Another discovery I've made is that the SNMP walk of an unsuccessful device takes 10 times longer than a successful device. An inventory job on a unsuccessful device only goes into pending and the job never starts.

  • LMS 4.2 Device Discovering issue

    HI All
I have experience in LMS 3.2 and my company asked me to install and LMS 4.2. I have all documents about LMS 4.2 but it is taking time to read and doing as per document. I started discovery but the problem is last two days it is running and finds 50 % of devices only and still the staus is running. The Network topology is 2 CORE switch ( Discovered) , connecto to 2 Distribute switch and Server form switch ( Discovered) Access Switches are connected to the Distribute switch some are Discovered most of not found. Some Access switches are connected to neighbor Access Switches it is not directly connected to Distribued Switch.
Please advise normally how long will take for discovering 70-80 devices ? How to trouble shoot for non discovering devices ?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Abdul Hameed.

If a device is missing or isn't added, it could be due to incorrect credentials. However you still can add it manually from DCR.
You can use the Adding Devices to add devices, device properties or attributes, and device credentials to the Device and Credential Admin.
Go to the CiscoWorks home page and select Inventory > Device Administration > Add / Import / Manage Devices.
For more details on how to add devices, please check :

  • Inventory management problem with WS-C2950-24 on CWLMS 4.0

    Hi Joe,
I have a problem with inventory management wiht 2950- 24 switches on which I am not able to capture inventory as well as the configurations. The IOS version is 121-22.EA13 and featureset is i6k2l2q4-mz. However, when I troubleshoot it, all the transport protocols (Telnet, ssh, tftp etc) shows success.
    Thanks,
    Best Regards // Rajiv

Inventory uses snmp to communicate to device. Please check you device has snmp configured and LMS has correct SNMP RO credentials added to it.
Please try to do a manual snmpwalk from LMS server (using device centre > tools) and see the walk succeeds.
Then again try to run the inventory from LMS server on this perticular device and if it fails, share the failure result/screenshot etc details. NMSROOT/log/ic_server.log as well.

  • LMS 3.2 Inventory collection - Job timeouts after ~5h, all devices "Not attempted"

    Hello All,
We have a strange problem with LMS 3.2 regarding Inventory Collection.
This problem started immediatelly after the LMS installation/upgrade (LMS 3.2 was installed on a new server, and LMS 2.6 database migrated to it).
All Jobs finish as failed, with all devices "not attempted".
Job hangs for a five and a half hours and then reports failed status.
The symptoms are the same for scheduled jobs and manually created jobs.
I also have opened a TAC case, but it seems that nothing relevant can be found in the IC_Server.log.
Also, according to a packet capture, it seems that LMS does collect SNMP data from devices after a job is started...
We tried to upgrade RME 4.3.0 to 4.3.1.
One Job immediately after the upgrade was succesful (Inventory was collected for manually selected device), but the next day all Inventory Jobs were failing again with the same symptoms...
Does anyone have a sugestion where to look for a problem trace?
    Thanks in advance!
    Ragards,
    Jasmina

    Hi Jasmina ,
Please chech the Existing MDF pacakge :
go to common service > software center > device update >>> check the checkbox for Cisco works common service   and click on check for updates
--if there is an Update , please upgarde the MDF version..
--Similarly look for any Available Device Pacakges update for RME , if there are Upgarde all the Device Pacakages ....
--After all of the above Task is done , Now re-run the Job and it still fails then share the IC_server.log  again..
    Thanks--

  • LMS 3.1 Inventory Collection fails

I have the same problem as the following post:
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/176673?tstart=0&viewcondensed
Also, LMS fails inventory collection every time.  I click on the "failed" link from LMS Portal, but the page never comes up detailing why it has failed.  This is after I fixed an issue with group policy overwriting the "Logon as batch" setting for casuser.  Everything appeared to be up and running normally again, when I noticed the next day that inventory polling/collection is failing.  pdshow attatched.
The following error message continues to show up in the rme_ctm.log file:
    [ Tue Feb 22  07:40:55 CST 2011 ] URN_NOT_FOUND : urn "JRM" : Not found !!
The last entry in the CTMJrmServer.log file is:

I've been blindly trying to chase this down and getting nowhere.

  • LMS 4.0 Inventory add/import/manage page hangs

Hi! I am trying to access the module add/import/manage without success. I am seeing only the sign "Loading" for a long time in my IE browser. I`ve tried to restart browser and access from a different PC - nothing changes. All the others modules are working well.

How were these devices added?  You can uncheck auto allocation, click Apply.  Then re-check and click Apply.  Does the behavior change?  Or perhaps you could try deleting a device and re-adding it to verify it populates throughout the application.
    Adding Managed Devices
If you do not configure the Device Policy Management using Inventory > Device Administration >  Device Allocation Policy, you can manually add managed devices.
You can select a device from the device selector, which shows only the unmanaged devices, and add it  as a managed device. To do this select Inventory > Device Administration > Add as Managed Devices.
If you neither configure the Device Policy Management nor manually add managed devices, devices will  not be automatically managed in LMS, in spite of adding the devices in DCR, using Inventory > Device  Administration > Add / Import / Manage Devices > Add, and discovering them using Inventory >  Device Administration > Discovery > Launch / Summary.

  • LMS 4.0 Inventory Collection GBICs and serial nos.

    Hi All,
I have larger numbers of WS-C3560X-24/24P/48 Cisco switches with1000BaseSX SFP GIBCs installed per switch in my network and they are all added to my DCR just fine. However, when i generate an inventory hadrware report GBICs and GBICs serial number is not showing up. Is there any special settings i need to make?
Let me know if you need additional information to help to identify the problem, i'll provide it.
Any help will be very much appreciated. Thank you in advance!
    Rob

GBICs and SFPs and such will show up in a detailed device report.
If you create a custom report ("Reports, Report Designer, Syslog and Inventory, Create"), you can extract that information into a useful form for your purposes. You will want to use the report designer and pull out "port serial number" plus something like device name. I just did this myself and verified it will pull the SFP serial number from a device. They key fields are "Inventory Group: port" and "Attribute: port serial number"
Here is a screen shot from the report I created showing the serial number you are asking about:

  • OPM Inventory Responsibility Problem

Hello everybody !! I´m new in the forum.
Here is my problem i´m working on a company rollup, with the next situation
Company A: already working with OPM for a couple of years ago.
Company B: setting up to go online in a few month
I have to create a new master item organization, new process organization, new cia, etc.
I´ve done this, with the guide of the white paper about OPM System Setup. (New SOB, New ORG, New CIA, New OU, Fiscal Policy, Item Master, New Warehouse, New User Organization assigment) Everything fine.
The problem is that when i created a new responsability for Company B Opm Inventory, i configure the GMI Default Organization: Company B, MO Operating Unit: Company B, BUT: i´m stil seeing the Master Item Organization of the Company A.
I have to setup another system profile ? I tried adding the Master Item Organization for the Company B in the Organization Item in the Opm Inventory responsability, but it was also added to the Company A.
So when i add a new item from CIA B OPM Inventory it is created in both organizations.
Something is missing, but i couldn´t find out.
    Thanks in advance,
    Gustavo

    Hi,
    Please Check the User Organizations...
    System Adminisrtation > User Organizations
Please check then and reply which organizations u have selected there.

  • VM 3.1.1: SAN Server discover problem

I just installed Oracle VM 3.1.1 infrastructure.
From VM Manager I discovered without problems VM Server (I attached 1TB LUN from a HP EVA SAN to VM Server).
Problems occur when I try to discover storage: when I try to discover SAN Servers I receive this error:
"OVMRU_007023E: Cannot create generic FibreChannel array: A generic FibreChannel array already exists: Unmanaged FibreChannel Storage Array."
How can I attach this FC Volume Group to FC Storage array, so that I can create later a repository?
Is there something wrong on my steps?

    Hello,
FiberChannel storages doesen't have to be discovered like ISCSI or NFS ones. You present it to your servers using HP EVA Command View associating servers WWN and once presented FCP LUNs are seen by servers.
Repository creation is done normally under repository tab, add new repository, then you select "physical disk" and under disks you will have your FCP LUNs.
    Greets!

But when I go to open menu: Monitor->Monitoring tools -> Fault Monitor
    Iget the following pop-up

    Hello Tira,
    Good News,
fortunately, the problem is solved by a reload of the virtual machine before I could try to restart only the service, then I think that your solution could be fine too.

    -I re-installed LMS

  • Inventory cleanup problems

Ive been working at adding some inventory classes to SCCM 2012 and ran into some housekeeping problems.  I had added a few classes, then decided to change their names a little bit.  Now, I am left with some extra 'SCCM_Ext' tables and views of
    the deleted data.
When I delete an SCCM Inventory class from the Hardware inventory, the main 'dbo' tables and views are deleted correctly, but the 'SCCM_Ext' tables and views are never deleted.
Is there a cleanup process avaialbe to get rid of those tables and views?  When I try to open them in SQL I get errors because the underlying 'dbo' tables and views aren't there anymore.  It seems like there could be a garbage cleanup problem with
these 'SCCM_Ext' objects.  Can I just drop the tables and views manually?

    Hi Todd,
Could you please let me know how you delete the sql DB tables? It is not supported to deleted the DB table directly.
Try to use the Delgrp.exe utility to remove it and see how it goes.

  • Total Inventory Line Problem...Help Please

I am creating a Inventory Program for my Java class. I have gotten all of the program to pull to the GUI I created but one. For some reason my total inventory calculation will not pull to the GUI. Can anyone help me find the problem within my code. Here is both the main program and my buttonframe. If the other two parts are needed just let me know. It will all compile, just the label were the total inventory goes is still at zero it will not put the number in the box. I will be forever grateful for any help or tips in fixing the problem. Thanks

    I am sorry guys,
When I run the program all labels are in place and data appears where it is suppose to be...but the total inventory line. The label for the total inventory is there, but where the data is suppose to be all it will put there is 0.0. It will not put in the dollar amount. I know the problem is with the GUI, because before I started with the buttonFrame and it was compiled it would give me me the dollar amount for the Total Inventory. Here is the rest of the code.

  • LMS 4.1 multiserver config problem

I m facing a problem in multiserver configuration, in making master-slave servers.
Master server config is done, certificates are imported, SSO is also configured and all the pre-requisites given in the multiserver-config doc of lms4.1.
While making slave server from stand-alone, getting errors like "cetrificate expired" and "certificte not installed" in two different ways, putting master-server IP as master address and putting master-server domain name respectively, both snapshots are attached. My Domain name is DNS resolvable.
Anyone can help me out on this...?

You can add your custom prompts into /opt/CSCOpx/objects/cmf/data/TacacsPrompts.ini. No restart of LMS is required for the addition to be recognized.
