Hi all,
equal to thread https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2058453?tstart=0 I discovered
problems with dynamic updates of Device Selectors "All Devices".
With scheduling daily discrepancy reports for Error-Disabled Port newly added devices in DCR and ANI-DB will not
participate in the scheduled report.
Please find attached screenshot for settings.
As within CM-Device Selector no Group Selector (solution for similar thread about rme) is available
it would be intresting for me to know whether this is a well-known problem or if there's a workaround available.

Is is possible to build dynamic groups in RME using wildcards or regular expresions? The rules that I want to define would look similar to the following:
Device.System.Name StartsWith "SW" AND (
Device.System.Name contains "........X" OR
Device.System.Name contains "........Y" OR
Device.System.Name contains "........E" OR
Device.System.Name contains "........Z")
Where the device name begins with SW and there is either an X, Y, E or Z in the 8th position of the device name.

This is not possible. The ruleset matching is based only on the operators available for the given property.
The best workaround I can give you is to apply your first rule, then manually adjust the membership list based on the other rules. The downside of this is that the membership list would require modification when you add new devices.

SQL Query for members of dynamic group - Need to include Name, Path and Type

I built a custom dynamic group that has all my SQL databases in it using SCOM 2012 SP1. The group works fine as I can see the Name(ie, Database name), Health State, Path (ie, hostname/instance) and Types (ie; SQL 2005). Now I'm trying to
build a custom report based off this same information using a SQL query. I'm no DBA and could use some help. So far this is what i have

This gets me the Group Name (which i really don't care about), database name, and hostname/instance. What I am missing is the Health State and most importantly the Type (ie, SQL Server 2005 DB, SQL Server 2008DB).
If someone could assist me here I would appreciate it. I believe I need to do some type of INNER JOIN but have no idea where the SQL type info lives or the proper structure to use. Thanks

Generate report dynamically based on parameters

I have a Report with 30-35 items and these items are divided into sets of
RMA, WIP,Inventory, finance ....
now i need to display the report dynamically based on parameters
say, for example if RMA, WIP, Inventory, finance are YES,NO,YES, NO
then the report should display only RMA , Inventory....
any ideas/suggestions would appreciated......

i have to display the report based on the selection criteria(parameters)
i have a generalized view which will display all the items....but the client needs them in a fashion where he chooses them as a groups since, the list is so big and he wouldn't be needing them all at once.
here is what i'm thinking for the moment since, discoverer cannot hide the columns based on runtime parameters ....correct me if i'm wrong (as per my knowledge...it cannot ) i have decided going with 16 worksheets 4 groups of items say,(RMA, WIP, INV, FINANCE..)
and now based on the flags what the end user chosses i may have to display the appropriate worksheet ....is this solution possible...if so do i have to subqueries...??..or is there any better ideas/suggestion....

Dynamically group records by date

I am attempting to create a report that will dynamically group records into a set number of date buckets. This is similar to grouping records by a date field and setting the days, weeks, months, etc property but instead of grouping by a set time span I want to a specific number of date groups regardless of date span. So say i have records where the first date is today at 1am and the last record is today at 9 pm. I want the data grouped into 10 groups and the time calculated for that group based on total time span / 10. The first group would be 1AM to 3AM, the second would group 3AM to 5AM, etc.. The reason I am doing this is for a chart that displays record counts over time but the overall timespan will never be known until runtime. Setting the chart for hourly or weekly doesn't work because if the user runs the report over a year the dates will be illegible.

Well this SHOULD be easy. But leave it to CR make not...
You can start by finding the minimum & maximum dates within your range:
Local DateTimeVar MinDate;
MinDate := Minimum({Table.DateField})
and
Local DateTimeVar MaxDate;
MaxDate := Maximum({Person.ModifiedDate})
Then figure out what the the interval would be if the span is broken down into 10 equal parts"

This is where CR drops the ball... IMHO... it WON'T allow you to to group by a formula field that uses an aggregate in the formula (in this case Minimum & Maximum)... It will however allow to to graph on it, which I assume is what you are actually trying to do. If anyone knows a way to work around the grouping issue, I'd love to know it myself.

Dynamic Group By

Hi All,
I have a two reports in my dashboard, One for asking list of search key words when user click Search (html button) it navigates to report two with the necessary parameters and filter done.
Now there is one new requirement came up like, user want the list of column names in the dropdown box for group by. User select the filter value and select the group by column in the list then click search. This should pass the filter values as well as the group by column to the report2. The result should be filtered based on the filter values and must be grouped by the selected column.
Can anyone provide a solution or idea for this?

Try to put the group by column drop-down value from the dashboard prompt into presentation variable and then use this value to form a dynamic group by in Answers with case statement like I did in this example:

Administration group vs Dynamic group in 12c

Hi All,
I was going thru 12cR2 documentation, and description for Administration group and Dynamic group looks same to me.
Do any one of you know what's the real difference between them?

Administration groups and dynamic groups are similar in that their membership is dynamic, i.e. you specify the membership criteria based on target properties, and Enterprise Manager will automatically add the targets into the appropriate administration group and/or dynamic group(s) if the targets' properties match their criteria.
However, administration groups have additional semantics. As it is mentioned in the doc: "Administration groups greatly simplify the process of setting up targets for management in Enterprise Manager by automating the application of management settings such as monitoring settings or compliance standards. Typically, these settings are manually applied to individual target, or perhaps semi-automatically using custom scripts. However, by defining administration groups, Enterprise Manager uses specific target properties to direct the target to the appropriate administration group and then automatically apply the requisite monitoring and management settings. This level of automation simplifies the target setup process and also enables a datacenter to easily scale as new targets are added to Enterprise Manager for management."
So you use administration groups primarily to automate the process of setting up your targets for monitoring/management. Once a target joins an administration group, then Enterprise Manager automatically applies to the target the monitoring templates and/or compliance standards and/or cloud policies that you have associated with your administration group. Because of this feature, a target can belong to at most one administration group. This is to prevent conflicting scenarios where a target is part of multiple administration groups that have different associated monitoring templates.
Both dynamic groups and administration groups support group operations -- running jobs, reports, etc.
So if you want to leverage the automation of target setup provided by administration groups/template collections... then use administration groups.
If you want to leverage the dynamic membership of groups and have requirements that a target needs to be part of multiple of such groups, use dynamic groups.

Report with grouping issue

I have a report which have year(2008), Category(0-1,2-3, ALL), product(0,1,2,3,4..), % sales. I group by all the category elements and called it as All, I am not getting the right percentage sales for the Category ALL other wise for 0-1,2-3 i am getting it right. Report design Grouping problem

I'm currently designing a report, something like an invoice. The invoice number is usually on the page header. But now i want to create a report to list down all the invoice numbers in the 'details' but when i drag the 'invoice number' data to 'details'
it only show 1 row of numbers, wheareas the data has few rows of it. How can i make it view all my numbers?

Use Granfeldts Create Object to create dynamic groups

Trying to use Sorens Granfeldts, Create Object WF activity to create dynamic groups.
In a standard function evaluator activity I generate the Filter as [//WorkflowData/Filter]
The "string" I set it to is:

Hi Frank,
there is something wrong with departmentnumber attribute of user records. Searching users with ldapsearch using "departmentnumber=*" filter fails with the following error:
ldap_search: DSA is unwilling to perform
ldap_search: additional info: Function Not Implemented
I think this is probably the cause of failing creation of dynamic groups.
Searching on other user attributes (cn, uid, employyenumber) works fine.
Still don't understand what's wrong with this particular attribute.

How to obtain IR report dynamic SQL in Apex 4.0

Now the requirement is when user applies a filter to the interactive report I would like to apply the same filter criteria to the flash chart so that data representation in flash chart matches with the IR report content. Hello , I did some research how to achieve this , one way is to get the IR report dynamic sql using APEX_IR.GET_REPORT package and apply the same sql for the chart so that the chart representation will match with the IR report data, But the challenge is as i am using the APEX 4.0.0.00.46 version, the APEX_IR package is not available in that version , Any other way we can achieve this in Apex 4.0??

LDAP Dynamic Groups

I have been trying to do some coding around - fetching members of dynamic ldap groups. In both these code snippets.. I get the same exception:

Reporting in Group currency

Dear All,
We have an issue related to report as below
Our SAP system is currently set up to report in the following company currencies :-
1000     GBP
2000     GBP
3000     EUR
4000     EUR
5000     GBP
Currently our reporting or group currency is GBP, so co.code 3000 and 4000 are also reported in GBP.
The issue is, can we report in more than one Group currency at a time ? If possible we would like to
report group results in GBP and EUR. If that was not possible, is it difficult to change Group currency from GBP to EUR.
Looking for your sugggestions.

Thanks for your quick reply.
All the above mentioned co.codes are assigned to only one controlling area.
In controlling area currency settings are as below:
Currency type: 30 : group currency
Currency       : GBP
Now can you please suggest me, how to proceed further.
