LMS 3.2 - DFM Notification Services issue
My customer installed an LMS 3.2 on Windows 2008 Server with SP1.
Now the DFM Notification Services causing Problems.
We configured for a test the Event Set A and setup a Notification group with the following boxes ticked:
Alert Severity
Critical Informational
Alert Status
Active
Event Selection
Event Set: A
Event Severity
Critical Informational
Event Status
Active
And all Devices marked in the device selector.
At least the E-Mail configuration was set.
Now none of the Alerts or Events generate an automated e-mail, while the manual mailing from the AAD is working.
I restarted the LMS dmgtd and founf the following lines in the DFMLogServer.log:

The setup instruction from TAC:
1- Stop the daemon manager:
net stop crmdmgtd
2- Go to:

and backup the original files (either copy them to another safe directory or rename them to something like . Please don't retain the original extension when renaming the files.
3- Make sure that the patch files have the following MD5s:

I followed these instructions and still facing the problem.
I also searched for the libeay32.dll and ssleay32.dll, i found them, but in a path not included in the Windows PATH variable. Therefore these files should not influence LMS.
In the NOS Log i still see these messages:

Since these Messages depends on EPM Data i had a look into the EPMServer.log and EPM.log
The EPMServer.log is shortened and showing all entries from the last dmgtd start. After the usual urn_not_found messages and the init of the Groups the following entry is generated:

Cisco Prime LMS 4.2.1 Topology services issue

Topology services is not accesible on Win 7 client machine.On cisco works server it is ok.
I reinstalled the Java but still same issue.Please help .I've seen this issue happen repeatedly on some machines. The root cause seemed to be in the bowels of the Java version / installation on the client. The solution which I found to work most reliably was to uninstall Java completely on the client and then launch a CiscoWorks applet like Topology Services.
At that point, LMS will redirect you to the Java binaries that are provided on the server where they will be downloaded and installable on your client. That particular binary package has all of the optional Java bits to insure optimum compatibility with LMS. Subsequent client Java upgrades to the more current version did not seem to affect the interoperability following that procedure. -
Human Task Notification service issues on 10.1.3.3
Hi all,
I am running SOA Suite 10.1.3.3 and basic workflow, routing, notifications are working fine using Jazn realm. I have the following doubts with respect to notification process:
1. The workflow notification sent contains a notification text with links to Accept, Reject, Worklist app and the payload of the notification process as an attachment. Is this the intended functionality to have the payload as an attachment or is there a way to include the payload in the email body itself?
2. I was able to respond back to notification through the link in the email for Approve or Reject. This sent an email to the email account as set in the ns_email.xml configuration and same account name is set as actionableEmailAccountName in the wf_config.xml file. But the workflow process is not picking up this email. Is there any other setting required for workflow to pickup this mail and process the notification to approve/reject.
3. The links in the email are shown as below:

My BPEL PM and POP3 servers are on different servers. So I guess symantec can't be an issue, though I have mcafee.

I'm not sure if the folder name is case sensitive or not. Still I tried with different options like INBOX, inbox, Inbox but all are giving the same exception.

LMS 3.2 DFM Auto Allocation Issues
Hi,
I am having a problem with the Auto Allocation in DFM. When I make changes to a device in the DCR (in this particular case, I am editing the User Defined Fields), the device automatically goes from a ''Known' state to a 'Learning' state in DFM. The problem is that it will remain 'learning' for hours, then eventually go into 'Questioned'. At this point, I have to delete it from the questioned state, which it then goes into 'Pending', and then I have to delete it from the pending phase. (A side problem I am having is that it wont remove itself from pending - I have to stop the Daemons, restart them, and then its gone from the DFM) Once it is out of the DFM, I have to manually add it back into the DFM, in which point is goes through in a few minutes with no problems.
Please let me know if there is anything I can provide to help out in this situation.

I think I may have misworded my initial problem. I do not have DFM set to auto allocate from the DCR, however, it seems that when changes are made in the DCR to a device that is already "Known" in DFM, the DFM automatically puts that device into "Learning". This, it seems, is where the problem lies. That device will never actually go into "Known" status, until I delete them and restart the Daemons.

LMS 3.2 DFM Notification timebased
Is it possible to notify the differend destinations with timedependency?
For example:
In the week Mo - Fr I want to notify destination A (E-Mail)
At Weekend I want to notify destination B (SNMP-Trap)

I need to look for the old documentation.pdfs.
I'm I mixing things here? Was it recently removed?
The functionality is still there in the event notification of CUOM for example.
Or is it "new" there? I think I already configured this on CUOM 2.0.1

We are running LMS 3.2. And email notification is configured and working.
Our issue is , we are receiving so many emails. And it is not occuring exactly at the same time anything goes wrong.
How do we make the configuration, so that we get an email saying, this device is down/ having errors.Post a sample of the email and remove any private info just so we can understand if you are getting the issue from RME or DFM. Most likely its DFM and you need to take a look at how you have configured your notification services.

Windows 8.1 - Windows Couldn't connect to the System Event Notification Service service
I have an issue that has been bothering me for a while on new 8.1 computers. Standard users are not able to log into the computer on the first try consistently. They receive the error message: Group Policy client service failed the sign-in access is
denied. They are stuck at the logon screen.
If an administrator logs in (local or domain), they can log in but get a black desktop with two error messages. The first is Location is Not available - C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is unavailable. The second error message is a popup
balloon. It states "Failed to Connect to a Windows service. Windows couldn't connect to the System Event Notification Service service."
When a standard user attempts to log in, event viewer records three warnings. They are listed in order from oldest to newest

Based on your description ,I assume it is a domain environment .First of all ,I would suggest you to try to update all the machine .

Do you mean all the Windows 8.1 machine share the same symptom or just a specific one ?Did the machine work correctly before ?When did the issue start to occur ?Have you installed any third party software before ?Can we operate the machine when we login with
an administrator account ?
If the issue occurred with the specific machine :
"The first is Location is Not available - C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is unavailable."
Please try the following suggestions if we can operate the machine when we login with the administrator account :
Open Windows Explorer and navigate to: C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile and verify if it has the Desktop folder there.If the folder doesn`t exit, we can copy from C:\users\Default\Desktop location(This folder is hidden by default).
We also can try the following suggestions to have a troubleshoot :
1.Run "sfc /scannow"or "dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth" to check the health of the system files.
2.Perform a full scan with an antivirus software.
3."They start after a minute or two."
I suspect there is a third party service confilct here. Please perform a clean boot to verify whether there is a third party conflict here .

If the issue occurred with multiple machines in the domian ,I would suggest you to check whether you have configured any logon scripts and logon group policy .We can remove the machine from the domain to have a troubleshoot .
If the issue occurred recently ,we can perform a system restore to recover the machine to a previous normal point.

WebDynpro Notification Service with multiple Application Servers
Hello Experts,
I am currently working on a project where I have to integrate a BSP Application into a new Web Dynpro ABAP Application. On the BSP Page it is possible to edit some details (for example for a customer).
When the user start to work on the BSP Page, the Web Dynpro Page should prohibit the navigation (i.e. disable all links). After Saving the BSP page, the navigation lock is released and the Web Dynpro reloads some data, which were changed from the BSP Page.
I have a NetWeaver 7.02 so I decided to use Shared Objects and the new Web Dynpro Notification Service to realize the given requirements. On the development system everything worked fine. The Notification Service was called and it took about 2 Seconds until the Web Dynpro Application updated.
But we got serious problems on the testmachine, which uses a Web Dispatcher and two application servers. After some research we managed that the application is running, and works.
But the Notification Service takes now up to 1 Minute until it fires the registered actions. And I good frequently an ASSERTION_FAILED from the method CL_WDR_NOTIFICATION=>ATTACH_FOR_READ in the ST22 as long as the application is running.
Can anybody help me how to solve this issue. It is a real blocker for the project.
If there is another way to establish eventing between Web Dynpro and BSP I would also go for another solution. But I don't think there are many other possibilities (SAP Portal and NWBC are no options - Maybe the new Web Dynpro PageBuilder?).

we decided to do a workaround for the moment. We use a refresh button on the Web Dynpro screen. That is not very nice, but sufficient for the moment.
Anyway: I am still interessted in the BSP-Web Dynpro Interaction Issue. So if somebody has any ideas, please let me know.
@PageBuilder: Currently the page builder does not work on the system, because of an 403 - Error when I try to call the Application-Configurator (the SICF service is active). But I will try this also as soon as this problem is solved.

Using AIA for Error Handling. Logging and Notification Services

In our project we usie OSB and BPEL for integrating different applications.
There is a suggestion that we should use AIA to just use the Error Handling, Logging and Notification services from AIA. I am not sure about this use case, as most of these services mentioned can be replicated in BPEL. Except for the AIAAsyncExceptionHandling BPEL process, i guess all other functionalties provided by AIA can be easily developed in BPEL or OSB alone.
However, would like to hear from you guys about this particular use case. Is it advisable?Hi,

Does Office365 EWS provides Push Notification service for Contacts and Calendar Events?
Even though there are REST API's for performing PUSH and PULL operations for Office365(online), I am still looking the old EWS approach where in I want to subscribe for PUSH notification service for Contacts, Calendars and Mail Boxes.

I'm new on the topic "web dynpro for java" and have a question about a real-time-notification of web dynpro clients.
In web dynpro for abap ther is apparently a new solution called "Notification Service" (since NW 7.0 Ehp2).

But I found no hints how to solve the problem of a real-time notification in web dynpro for java.
Requirements for short: The server can trigger a refresh in one or more web dynpro clients.
Requirements a liitle more extended:
1. A web dynpro is running in a browser and shows data it gets from a DataBase table1
2. Now a function module1 is started by an event and changes the data in table1 on the server side, the web dynpro does not know about this event or the changes made by external components.
3. These changed data should be visible immediately in the running web dynpro after the event occurd --> trigger a refresh of the web dynpro from the function module1?
All I actually know is that: The web dynpro can update its context with the new data from table1 after a refresh of the gui (wddomodifiyview). Using a timed trigger I can get new data after x seconds (same way --> context update and gui refresh). Is there another way to refresh the web dynpro (that noticed requirements of #3) ?

Anja HormannI recommend that you create another Web Dynpro application with this Timer to execute an RFC. This application would be in a Web Dynpro iView hidden from your SAP EP and shoot an event that would be captured by another application.
However I would take great care with this type of application.
And to answer your question at the moment, to my knowledge, there is no solution for this kind of integration between the ABAP and JAVA.

"No Service" issue after updating iOS 8.1
My iPhone 5 is really giving trouble after updating all iOS 8.01, iOS 8.02 & iOS 8.1. Cellular network is come to halt, "No Service" issue is regular and i am not able to use my iPhone 5 as phone.
Please help me out else i have to switch to some other phone.I have similar problem but with a 6: bought new iPhone 6 four days ago, phone and 3G signal were fine in UK from Sat to Mon. Yesterday, I traveled to Belgium and have had 'no service' problem since. I am carrying a Nokia feature phone which is locked on to local network and working fine.
If I power off the iPhone and power on, it comes back and joins the network. Five or so minutes later, it has dropped the network and will not re-attach if I put in/out of flight mode; needs power reset, and then drops again.
It is conceivable that this is a carrier issue but given that Nokia is fine and all the postings that I'm finding on various discussion sites, then I feel that it is an iOS issue. I'm booked in to visit the Apple Store at the weekend. My previous iPhone 4S was running iOS 7 and had no such problems.
So, carrying an expensive brick at the moment and hoping for an iOS update that will resolve this.
