Loading CS3

The program starts to load with the splash screen and  the outline of the program; "File, Edit, Project, Clip, Sequence, ETC" comes up and then crashes. Something must be corrupted.  Does this mean I have to reload the program?  Will it load if I haven't deactived it previously?

I've uninstalled and re-installed three times.  Each time rebooting.  I am hesitant to use CleanScript because I have the following programs on my computer:
AE CS3 Professional, Photoshop CS3 Extended, Audtion 3.0, Encore CS3, Illustrator CS2, Device Central CS3 and Bridge CS3
and I don't know how Clean Script wil will effect their functionality.
I have accessed the program by "Start>Programs>Adobe Premiere Pro CS3; clicking on a Premiere Pro poject; and clicking on the executable under
C:/Program Files>Adobe>Adibe Premiere Pro CS3.
Each results in a crash.

  • Trying to load CS3 Design Premium on a new machine; it's blocked by system check.

I'm trying to load CS3 Design Premium on a new laptop. The system check is preventing InDesign from loading. It inaccurately indicates I don't have great enough resolution. Does anyone have a workaround?
I have a PC running Windows 7 OS.
    I've done the following:
Adjusted the resolution to maximum resolution and also to the value Adobe recommends. Both without success.
Used Adobe cleaner, restarted, and tried to reload. No luck. InDesign and Illustrator are still prevented from loading due to resolution ((1024 X 768).
    Ideas, tips, and workarounds appreciated!

I've installed it on two CS3 win 7 machines with wide-screens without incident. Are you running the installer from disk or a download? The CS3 installers was pretty finicky, as I recall, and you may need to perform a "clean boot" to get it to work. See How to perform a clean boot to troubleshoot a problem in Windows 8, Windows 7, or Windows Vista

  • Has anyone loaded CS3 MC onto 27"i7?

I want to get an i7 but it must work with software. Has anyone got one of these and actually attempted to load CS3 Master Collection and been successful?
    Please let me know
    Thanks

I have and it works fine. Just make sure that you are installing it on your machine new and not using migration assistant. For some reason if you use migration assistant to transfer all of your data and programs, Adobe will not allow you run the software on the new computer. I learned this the hard way and had to reinstall snow leopard. I now have it up and running and working like it should. Hope this helps.

  • Cannot see RAW files after re-loading CS3.

My computer crashed so I re-loaded cs3 from the disks, but now it says that it won't update as Adobe is no longer supporting it.  I cannot see my RAW files from my Canon d30 and d40.  In the past when I had this problem, I just downloaded something and it fixed it, but that doesn't seem to be working this time.  Are those update files available and usable anywhere or am I trying the wrong ones?

You mean the EOS 30D and EOS 40D?
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html
The EOS 30D requires Adobe Camera Raw 3.4
The EOS 40D requires Adobe Camera Raw 4.2
Photoshop CS3 shipped with ACR 4.0. So your 30D Raw files are readable now but you need an update for the 40D.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/camera-raw-compatible-applications.html
So update to ACR 4.6 and you should be set

  • Just loaded CS3 Design Premium - No FW?

    Hi Everyone -
Know I'm late to the game - I finally loaded CS3 Design
Premium to my computer, and Fireworks isn't on there...?
Did I mess something up? I thought CS3 Design Premium came
    with Fireworks?
Don't know if it matters, but my CS3 is a student
    license......
    Any ideas?
    Appreciate any help!!!!

When did you purchase your Design Premium? Adobe added
    Fireworks to the
suite later on so you might be in a position where they'll
    give you a
free Fireworks serial if you call up and complain. It's worth
    a try at
    least.

  • Having trouble loading CS3 on my new 64bit windows 7 computer?

I keep getting a message that the minimum system requirements
listed below are needed to run Adobe InDesign CS3 and are not met.
    Monitor Resolution of 1024X768
I have a HD monitor with a resolution of 1920X1080
I keep trying to lowere the resolution to satisfy the progra, so it will load but it won't do it.
I have tried all of the different resolutions and can't figure it out.

    That's a good sign.
I must have been brain dead yesterday -- you said Wn7 64 bit right inthe title of your post. As far as I know, CS3 should install, though Win7 is not a supported OS as far as I recall. If you're game, I'd download the CS5 Cleaner tool (Resolve installation problems with CS5 Cleaner Tool) which can remove previos versions, too, and try again. The CS3 installer was awful and known to fail at the drop of a hat. Things that would conflict are browser helpers, instant messengers, iTunes (I think), Flash player, antivirus and malware scanners, Firewalls... so you may need to paya a second visit to MSConfig and pay particualr attention to the services tab, as well as the startups.

  • I had to buy a new computer and now can't get my CS3 with CS5 upgrade to work on windows 8.1. What can I do to get them to load and work?

I can load CS3, but it won't let me register it and I can load CS5 upgrade, but when I open CS5 it shows fault and closes. What can I do to get these programs to work on my new computer?

Registration has always been optional, so there is no point in trying. Those pages on the Adobe site are long gone. CS5 crashing is another matter, but without some crash logs and more detailed system information nobody can realyl know. This could be a mundane permissions issue on some files, could be a crash with the hardware acceleration stuff but just the same could be the activation system failing. Impossible to tell based on your limited information.

  • CS3 Not loading from disc and download link not working

I had to wipe my MacBook Pro hard drive.  I am now running Mavericks.  I bought CS5 as an upgrade to CS3 so CS3 is required to be on my computer before it will let me load the update.I have tried loading CS3 from the disk (I have my original discs) but it won't let me.  It gets stuck about 2/3rds of the way through install.  I've tried 4 times and I'm fed up. Nothing should be this hard. There is nothing wrong with my CD drive either, as I have loaded four other pieces of software that come on CD.
I tried to download CS3 from the links that Adobe tells me to use but none of the links work.  I have searched for links in general, I have done specific searches in Adobe.  Everything I come across for the CS3 download gives me an error when I click on the Mac version to download (HTTP Error: 404/support/downloads/dlm/main.jsp).  I have switched off the pop up blocker as well and tried more than one browser when downloading.
Does anyone have a work around?  I've paid over $4,000 for this software, I don't have the money to buy the latest version and I need to get my work done. I'm done with the stupidity of just trying to load this and I shouldn't have to buy the latest version just to be able to load my update.
    Please help if you can.
    SIncere thanks
    Hasmi

you don't need to install cs3 in order to install your cs5 upgrade.  if you start the cs5 installation you will first be prompted for your cs5 serial number.  the installer will then 'look' for cs3 on your computer and failing to find that will then prompt you for your cs3 serial number thereby establishing that you qualify to install the cs5 upgrade.
but if you want to install cs3:
You can download some of the older versions of Adobe software directly from the Adobe website. See the following links for details.
    Accessible from these pages:
    Download and installation help
    Adobe Downloads - other downloads
    Downloads available:
    CS6 | CS5.5 | CS4 | CS3
    Acrobat XI, X | 9,8
    Premiere Elements 11, 10
    Photoshop Elements 11, 10
    or:
if you follow all 7 steps, you can download a trial via one of the links on this page using a browser that accepts cookies:  http://prodesigntools.com/download-adobe-cs4-and-cs3-free-trials-here.html
and activate with your serial number.
if you have a download problem (eg, you see an error page or you are offered an incorrect version), you probably didn't follow all 7 steps.  typically, failure to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 is the problem, but your browser must also allow cookies so that (a restrictive browser setting) is another potential source of problems.

  • My Photoshop CS3 stops working immediately upon loading

A pop up appears saying it has encountered a problem to stop it working correctly.  I've tried to reload the software to repair it, which I'm told has been successful, but when I try to load CS3 again the problem is still there.  Please can anyone advise?  I've been successfully using CS3 for years and have never encountered this before.

  • Indesign CS3 will not load

I have Adobe Creative Suite CS3 installed on my home PC (Windows XP). All the Adobe programs will start without problems, except Indesign CS3. Nothing happens when I try to start the program. Not even a message comes up? Can anyone help me solve this problem?
    With kind regards
    Maria

I have the same issue on a pc that I've loaded CS3 on. I have a corporate license of CS3 and know for sure the seat is available for install to this machine. It's a Dell Optiplex GS270, P4 @ 2.66Ghz, 2GB ram. the OS is XP pro, fully patched. I'm only using a single Dell monitor. I ran typical install of CS3 from disk, got all the updates from Adobe. Everything opens just fine except for InDesign. When I try to launch the InDesign.exe process appears in Task Manager for 1-2 seconds and goes away. Nothing else happens, no error messages, nothing.
I've loaded CS3 on my other users without any problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks, John

  • DW CS3 conflict with server & uploading files (please help?!?!)

I work with one other person and although we work on files locally, when one of us tries to push a file up to the remote server we get an error that reads:
"name of person" is currently working on that file (Please enable Check In/Out in the Site Definiteion dialog box to avoid overwirting changes made by otehr users.) Do you want to upload the file anyway?
Neither one of us has enabled Check in Check out feature either. My question is that I know this person isn't even in Dreamweaver or connected to the server. Two strange things:
    1) Dreamweaver gives the actual person who is trying to upload the error saying that they are currently working on the file.
    2) Dreamweaver actually gives me that error message but it's telling me that someone who left the office over two years ago and who I know no longer has an account on the server. How can she currently be working on a file or even linked to that file name???
We thought this glitch would go away when we got new PCs and loaded CS3 but it hasn't. Does anyone have any suggestions to help me figure out why we keep getting these issues.
    THANKS!!!

That's a server side issue. Either its timeouts are set way too liberally (to the server, your FTP connections never seem to end) or it creates a new session for every time you log on. Both are fundamentally wrong and from your description I get the impression that the machine is also otherwise not being maintained properly. Time to fly in the admin, I'd say.

  • Bridge won't launch from CS3 - intermittent problem

Hi folks<br />I dont think I am alone in experiencing this problem as a quick google threw up other sufferers but the suggested fix  update everything at the Adobe website  has not fixed the problem, so I am hoping that someone here can shed some light.<br /><br />Problem 1; Bridge will sometimes not open from CS3 - ie when I click on the icon , or if Bridge is set up to open automatically when CS3 opens, I sometimes get an error message that reads <br /><br />error 2:Photoshop is undefined. Line: 1  ->photoshop10.invoke bridge (false, false, );<br /><br />When this happens Bridge will still open fine from the start menu, so it is not disastrous but is annoying because the keyboard shortcut <shift ctrl W   > won't work either (to close a file in CS3 and bring the Bridge window up on screen) - a similar error message is received when using Shift Ctrl W as when trying to open bridge.<br /><br />Problem 2; the fly out menus will not remain on screen.  Eg if I have a layer and want to access the blend mode menu - if I click on the menu in the layer palette the menu appears for a second and then disappears.<br /><br />Problem 3: If I try to create a new action as soon as I click on the "new action" in the actions palette the word "scripts" appears multiple times in the action - it just produces line after line of this until I click the button to stop the action.<br /><br />Problem 4 (may be related to problem 2 ?); in the crop tool - I can't get the cursor to remain in the width and height boxes - so I can't control the dimensions of the crop (which is currently stuck at my last size of 3 x 4 cm - not much use to man nor beast).<br /><br />Most frustratingly of all  - these are all intermittent problems.<br /><br />Things I have tried - updating CS3 and bridge from Adobe site, opening CS3 and bridge before any other program, not running any other program at the same time, uninstalling and reinstalling (after disabling all antivirus etc stuff), but so far nothing works.<br /><br />I am using a 1 year old Dell PC, lots of RAM and hard drive available, only working from internal drives, no new  hardware or software loaded (although there might have been a windows update - but this occurred after the problems started and has not noticeably changed things).  Windows XP pro. Recently done whole system scan for viruses etc and no problems found.<br /><br />Please help, this has been going on since I loaded CS3 a few months ago and it is driving me nuts.<br /><br />Thanks<br />Amanda D'Arcy

Amanda - One consistent recommendation that has fixed a lot of problems, especially if program worked before, and does not now, is to reset preferences. This is not the same as uninstalling and reinstalling, as the preference file is not affected with that operation.
Since it is intermittent problem this will probably not help, but worth a shot.
When it does not work is there some process that is running, like a anti-virus scan, or?
What about startup scripts in Bridge? Disable any you do not need.

  • CS3 Mac can't get ACR working since Sno Leopard

Since upgrading to Snow Leopard I had a range of problems.
I fixed them for a bit; re loading CS3, updating CS3, ACR etc
But then after I cropped  files I was getting error messages saying to install a printer (despite the Epson R288 working fine)
So I tried re loading (after deactivating) and now I am going in circles trying to find the right ACR and DNG reader working.
So; where are ACR updates for CS3 hid (CS4 is easy to find)
    WHere does DNG converter reside
    Thanks

Yeah I think I had gone down that path which when you select camera raw Macintosh and you end up with Ver 5.5 for ACR and ditto for DNG converter; but these turn out to be for CS4 if you go down on the download page and see the system requirements.
So I gave them another go, and found they don't work as it is the wrong PS version (CS3 not the CS4 these 5.5's are looking for)
So went and put the version 4.6 ACR for CS3 in and so far so good.
Thanks though, but Adobe have to confuse things by numbering ACR's in a cofused manner

  • Uninstallation concern of design premium CS3 Windows 7

I want to completely uninstall CS3. I am having trouble uninstalling CS3. I loaded CS3 onto Windows 7 PC. I tried to register product but I must have registered it on too many computers (this is a pretty old program from 2007). I think I then selected trial period. Trial period ended. I tried to uninstall with control panel. Apparently not complete uninstall. Now when I try to uninstall nothing happens. Problems occur when I try to open a pdf particularly in a browser such as Chrome. Tries to open in Adobe Acrobat 8.  I have Adobe Reader X installed. I can open pdf if I open specifically with Adobe Reader X.  I have not tried the cleaner yet.

Use the cleaner tool: CS Cleaner Tool for installation problems | CCM, CS6, CS5.5, CS5, CS4, CS3
