  • How to Load a SWF in Dynamically Loaded HTML

    Hello,
    I have a Flash movie with a multi-line text field that loads
    HTML text. As per the below Macromedia documentation I have swfs as
    images inside my HTML text.
    I'm trying to find a way to pre-load these swfs - if I do
    loadmovie to load the swf, when the html file is loaded will it
    need to reload the swf from scratch or will it take my loaded
    version? I'd love to show a "loading" message in the text as the
    swf was loading but am unsure how to do this now that I have the
    swf reference embedded in the html text.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!
    Julia
    From the Macromedia documentation:
    Image tag (<img>
    The <img> tag lets you embed external JPEG files, SWF
    files, and movie clips inside text fields. The <img> tag has
    one required attribute, src, which specifies the path to a JPEG
    file, a SWF file, or the linkage identifier of a movie clip symbol.

    Thanks - your answer is exactly what I was looking for.
    I'm noticing that every swf I load via dynamic HTML is
    distorted - is there a way to prevent this? I can set the width and
    height of each swf in the HTML, which works ok, but then I run into
    a problem when I try and have a component item (like an accordion)
    included in the dynamic text field. It works properly, and the
    framing is sized correctly, but the guts are still skewed. I
    haven't been able to figure out why the swfs are being distorted in
    the first place.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Julia

  • Stopping loaded in swf from streaming in when preloaded?

    So! Here's there no way to stop a loaded in .swf from
    streaming in, through the use of the loader, other than having a
    stop action on the first blank keyframe of the loaded in movie
    itself?
    I can always get the video to not show up, but what about
    sound? How can I keep it from being heard, streaming in, during the
    preloading process?
    Thanks in advance.

    Nevermind! Issue sorted out!
    My last question above got me thinking and I found a
    workaround!

  • Stop loading of swf which is still in progress

    Hi all,
    I have three buttons (_a, _b, _c) which uses a similar instance of contentSWF.as class to load a SWF(content1..swf, content2..swf, content3..swf). using loader class Now when i press the first button, in the contentSWF.as the following code trigers.
    contentSWF.as
    private var swfLoader:Loader
    public class contentSWF(path){
    swfLoader=new Loader();
    swfLoader.load(new URLRequest(path));
    swfLoader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, swfLoaded);
    private function swfLoaded(e:Event){
         addChild()
    Now when the content1.swf is still loading i press the second button. both the SWFs start playing what is the issue.
    I have a class contentSWF which loads a SWF(content.swf) using loader class, but in the main time line i hae another button

    If this class is being used by the three different objects separately, then that would explain why you get each one playing separately.  You essentially end up with 3 different loaders.
    I don't know what you expect from this line: addChild()  in your swfLoaded function, but it is not likely to be doing anything.

  • Cap4 Aggregator stopped loading AS3 swf's

    Anyone have any idea why the Aggregator will no longer load any swf's created with AS3? AS2 files still work, but 3's just show the loader over & over.
    TIA!

    Hi there,
    There was an issue with Captivate 4 aggregated SWFs on the latest flash player. We have identified it and the issue is fixed. Please follow the steps mentioned in the link below

  • Help with loading External SWFs

    Hi:
    I need to load external swfs into a mc. They will play in
    sequence, as soon as one ends, the next one will start. When
    running it blows by the first external swf (start.swf) and the rest
    of the external swfs will not continue to load and play after the
    objectives.swf. Could someone take a look at my code and tell me
    what I’m doing wrong?
    I’ve created controls that will allow me to play, pause
    and stop the external swfs while they’re playing (however,
    these buttons do not seem to have any effect on the external swf
    when it is playing). I think it is a scope issue, but I am not
    sure.
    Also, there’s a combo box at the bottom, which allows
    the user to jump to any external swf (it actually jumps to certain
    labels on the main timeline) at any time. The combo box appears to
    work OK.
    The FLA is located at:
    www.digitalhorizonstudios.com/exstream/newplayer.fla
    By the way, this presentation is a fullscreen .exe file when
    in use, not a swf played in an html file.
    Thanks SO MUCH for any help on this one.

    Please try this line of script:
    var myLoader:Loader = new Loader(); //create the varaible for the loader
    var myURL:URLRequest = new URLRequest("A.swf");// create the variable for the swf to be loaded
    myLoader.load(myURL)
    addChild(myLoader);

  • Loading external swf file in a new window

    Hi,
    I've got a few .swf files with video tutorials I've created using Captivate 4.
    I wanted to link them so I've created a main screen with menu with buttons in Flash.
    I've added AS to load the external swf files but they load in the same window. How can I load these .swf files in seperate window so that you could get back to the main window after you've finished watching?
    Here's my code:
    stop();
    var myLoader:Loader = new Loader();
    button1_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, movie1_1);
    function movie1_1(e:MouseEvent):void
        var myURL:URLRequest = new URLRequest("01_01_Welcome.swf");
        myLoader.load(myURL);
        addChild(myLoader);
    I'm also attaching screenshot with menu in flash

    I've deleted the line and now the code lookes like that:
    stop();
    var myLoader:Loader = new Loader();
    button1_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, movie1_1);
    function movie1_1(e:MouseEvent):void
        var myURL:URLRequest = new URLRequest("01_01_Welcome.swf");
        addChild(myLoader);
    Unfortunately, it doesn't load the .swf file when you click on the button...

  • Loading a SWF inside another SWF question

    Hello friends,
    1. (IMPORTANT) As all we know when putting some Flash SWF
    inside an HTML page, normally it starts playing as soon as its
    first frame is loaded.
    Now in my case I have to load a SWF (let call it Flash A)
    inside another Flash, I used mx.controls.Loader control to do this.
    But this internal loaded SWF (Flash A) doesn't display untill it is
    completely loaded. Although what is interesting is that if it
    contains a sound track I can hear it while it is being loaded.
    I wana know is there any way that we can make this Flash
    display while being still loaded.
    2. Is there anyway to change a Flash playback FPS at runtime?
    Thank you so much for any note and help.

  • How to load external SWF used sharing library.

    Hi~~~
    Before ask the question, plz understand my bad English..
    Recently I try to load the Swf file that is maded by Flash CS 6.0.
    Especially it used shared library..
    When I try to load this SWF, I used FileStream instead URLRequest.
    This is because the target SWF File located same device with the Swf Application.. So when I use the URLRequest
    it give me the warning - Sandbox security violation.
    But by using FileStream, the warning did not occur.
    This is the sample code below..
      var myFile = new File(path);
      var myStream = new FileStream();
      myStream.open(myFile, FileMode.READ;
      var myBytes:ByteArray = new ByteArray();
      myStream.readBytes( myBytes );
       mSwfLoader.loadBytes( fileStream, context );
       mSwfLoader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, onLoadedComplete);
    As you can see, I made a event listener to get the content of the Loader, after receving Complete Event(I guess.. after decording?).
    But I can't receive any event call, so I removed symbol used sharing library in the SWF.
    And this gave me the result as I respected... So I guess the problem caused by using sharing Library..!
    (In parenthease, I can see the valid result in running debug time on the Flash CS6..)
    What should I do? I respect that using sharing libary give saving memory.  So I want to using it as possible.
    Thanks for your reading...!

    HTH,

  • Accessing resources in loaded/external SWFs

    I've been looking around for an effective way of solving this
    issue, but without much like. What I'm trying to accomplish is
    creating a container for my newest Flash site in main.swf and
    loading other swf files that provide resources that modify mcs,
    functions etc. of the main.swf. I plan to have main.swf hold my
    background, logo etc. then each subrelated page as contact.swf,
    index.swf to be placed on top of that swf.
    I did find this thread:
    http://www.kirupa.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-241538.html
    but all I managed to get from it is how to reference elements in
    the child from the parent using Loader.content. What I'm trying to
    figure out is how to reference from the child to the parent. ie. if
    I want to modify the background of the main.swf which is contained
    in a function called changeBackground().
    To add some more complexity I am trying to keep as much of my
    code in .as files that are placed in the Document class. So for
    each main.fla I have a main.as and index.fla is index.as. In my
    index.as script I need to determine how to access objects/functions
    contained in main.as.
    I HOPE that I've explained that all properly. If I'm being
    confusing or using inappropriate terms - apologies.

    First, you need a loadComplete function in your icMain class
    to get called after the swf is loaded. You set up that relationship
    already in this line:
    indexLoader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE,
    loadComplete);
    so you need this:
    private function loadComplete(event:Event):void
    then, move these functions into the loadComplete function as
    you have to wait until the swf is loaded before setting the
    reference:
    var indexPage:indexPage = indexLoader.content as indexPage;
    indexPage.icMain = this;
    In your indexPage class, you need to move your set mainSWF
    function outside of the indexPage function. Also, the type of
    object you are passing, according to your code, should be icMain.
    So, instead of this:
    public function indexPage():void
    public function set mainSWF(icMain:MainSWFDocumentClass):void
    _icMain = icMain;
    Do this (notice I changed the name of your variable to avoid
    name conflict. using the convention of starting class names with a
    Capital letter would help too):
    private var _mainSWF:icMain;
    public function indexPage():void
    public function set mainSWF(mainSWF:icMain):void {
    _mainSWF = mainSWF;
    Here is the rewritten icMain class:
    package
    public class icMain extends Sprite
    public function icMain():void
    var indexRequest:URLRequest = new
    URLRequest("index/index.swf");
    var indexLoader:Loader = new Loader();
    indexLoader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(ProgressEvent.PROGRESS,
    loadProgress);
    indexLoader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE,
    loadComplete);
    indexLoader.load(indexRequest);
    private function loadComplete(event:Event):void
    var indexPage:indexPage = indexLoader.content as indexPage;
    indexPage.icMain = this;
    And here is your rewritten indexPage class:
    package {
    public class indexPage extends Sprite
    private var _mainSWF:icMain;
    public function indexPage():void
    public function set mainSWF(mainSWF:icMain):void {
    _mainSWF = mainSWF;

  • AS3 loading external swf files with buttons from inside a movieclip

    In my main .swf I have labels on the timeline, navs for those btns are on the first frame of the AS layer and each button sends the playhead to a different frame.
    On one frame called fr1 there is an mc called mc_1 that appears on stage when the playhead stops there. Inside mc_1 are a set of navigation buttons that need to call external .swfs.
    Do I add event listeners on the last frame of mc_1 for each button?
    how do I call the loaders for the swfs on the buttons since the swfs will load on the main timeline NOT the mc_1 timeline?
    So label on main timeline called fr1 will load external1 swf , on fr10 external 2.swf will load and so on.
    any help?

    The code for that button's event listener needs to be placed wherever it has direct access to the button.  Not necessarily on the same timeline, but in a place where both the button and the code are present at the same time.
    The code could be placed at the frame in the main timeline where the movieclip with the button(s) is, targeting the buttons via the movieclip (mc.button.addEvemtListener...) , unless the buttons are somewhere down the timeline of that movieclip.
    If they are down the timeline of that movieclip, then you would need to have the event listener also inside the movieclip, down its timeline where the buttons are finally settled in... being sure to assign instance names to the buttons at every keyframe.

  • Loaded external swf vs CPU usage

    Halo.   I use the following code in order to load external "inde_2.swf" into "index.swf":    (for Flash Player 9.0)
    stop();
    var myMovie:Sprite;
    var l:Loader = new Loader();
    l.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(ProgressEvent.PROGRESS, loop, false, 0, true);
    l.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, done, false, 0, true);
    l.load(new URLRequest("index.swf"));
    function loop(e:ProgressEvent):void
      var perc:Number = e.bytesLoaded / e.bytesTotal;
      loader.percent.text = Math.ceil(perc*100).toString();
    function done(e:Event):void
      removeChildAt(0) // was removeChildAt(0) but it make more sense this way
      loader.percent = null;
      myMovie = Sprite(l.content);
      addChild(myMovie);
      var container:MovieClip = MovieClip(l.content);
       addChild(container);
       container.gotoAndStop(890);
      l.contentLoaderInfo.removeEventListener( ProgressEvent.PROGRESS, loop);
      l.contentLoaderInfo.removeEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, done);
      l = null;
    But unfortunately if "index.swf" is a complex file (with many objects etc.) , the loaded "index_2.swf" will play very slow (high CPU usage).
    Is there any trick to unload "index.swf" so that "index_2" can play properly?

    if index_2.swf is a resource hog, there's nothing you can do in index.swf to fix that.  on the other hand, you should clean up your index.swf code:
    var l:Loader = new Loader();
    l.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(ProgressEvent.PROGRESS, loop, false, 0, true);
    l.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, done, false, 0, true);
    l.load(new URLRequest("index.swf"));
    function loop(e:ProgressEvent):void
      var perc:Number = e.bytesLoaded / e.bytesTotal;
      loader.percent.text = Math.ceil(perc*100).toString();
    function done(e:Event):void
      removeChildAt(0) // <-not sure this makes sense.  what are you removing?
      loader.percent = null;
      var container:MovieClip = MovieClip(l.content);
       addChild(container);
       container.gotoAndStop(890);
      l.contentLoaderInfo.removeEventListener( ProgressEvent.PROGRESS, loop);
      l.contentLoaderInfo.removeEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, done);
      l = null;

    your isse begins here ..
    loadSection()
    you use the same loader to not only load files but you are tyring to use it to target the movieClip you also want to play.
    The issue is loader.  The loader can only reference one load at a time.. otherwise you screw up your listeners and the ability to unload files properly.
    You should load all files in Your current system as its own variable so that while one loads you can still control a movie.
    So what type of end transitions do your files have?
    What exactly with this seems like youre getting an issue.. looking at it looks alright aside from the fact that some methods are not used at all by your class
