Loading ldap sdk 51 dlls from a webserver module

Hi ,
I have sunone webserver 4.1 SP9 running on my NT system. I have written a module using NSAPI which
loads (using loadlibrary) another module. This module depends on ldapsdk 51 dlls. It loads the sdk libs
properly. But somehow my first call to "ldap_simple_bind_s" does not return. It keeps waiting on some
condition in "libnspr3.dll" loaded by the webserver for its own purpose.
The stack trace is as follows:
NTDLL! 77f682db()
KERNEL32! 77f04f37()
LIBNSPR3! 30019517()
LIBNSPR3! 30019e35()
NSTIME! 00261111()
This happens ONLY when my module is talking to the DS in SSL and ONLY for the first request. A second
request goes fine. I have also tried pre-loading the sdk libraries but to no avail.
Any idea why the first calls enters libnspr3.dll rather than entering lbnspr4.dll. This problem is
definitely because of the webserver loading the nspr3.dll as similar module on IIS works properly.
Is this a known problem or is there any solution/patch that addresses this issue.
Any pointers?
Thanks in advance.
-Achyut.

Hi Chris,
Thanks for your reply.
After further debugging, I have some more information. For this thread, the first bind call goes thru but then the thread tries to acquire the handle again, the bind call does not return back. The call stack I sent yesterday was for the wrong thread. Sorry about that. The correct stack trace is:
NTDLL! 77f67f77()
LIBNSPR4! 090488ce()
00528700()
0052ad20()
0052aab0()
0052ca50()
LIBNSPR4! 090582c0()
00528700()
0052ad20()
0052aab0()
0052ca50()
LIBNSPR4! 090582c0()
This does not seem to give much information apart from the fact that this does not seem to be problem with co-existence of the nspr dlls of diff. versions.
Ideally, any plugins running in an iWS 4.1 server would link against the NSPR and LDAPSDK versions bundled with the server. The relevant header files and import libraries are published to the web server's plugins/include and plugins/lib directories.[Achyut] We have a requirement and we need to support ldap sdk 51 with our product. Is there any alternative to this? As in, some SP for the same webserver version which will bundle sdk 51 along with it.
>
You can try adding the following directive to the server's config/magnus.conf file:
KernelThreads 1[Achyut] I tried this but the problem still persisted.
Ultimately, though, mixing and matching NSPR and LDAPSDK versions is simply not guaranteed to work...[Achyut] Is there any service pack for the webserver version (4.1) that bundles ldap sdk 51?
Thanks again.

    I just installed LV2011 and one dll from my vi won't load with the error "application configuration is incorrect", which is Windows lingo for "missing package dependencies".  All the computers at my company with 2010 loaded seem to do OK.  When I do a Dependencies Walk I get missing Visual C debug dll's missing plus IEshims and wer which both have a whole tree of dependencies missing on my machine.  The Windows install is the same "Windows XP version 2002 Service Pack 3" on my PC and the working PC's. So I'm thinking I have to uninstall 2011 and go back to 2010.  Is this correct?  Those VC debug dll's were installed on the machines with 2010 in them but were not installed in mine.
    I've heard the advice to recompile the dll with debug turned off but I don't have access to the source code.
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for the reply.  This at least tells me that going back to LV2010 is not likely to solve the problem.  The missing dll's are:
    MFC90D.dll
    MSVCR90D.dll
    IESHMS.dll
    WER.dll
    And, once again, IESHMS and WER have other dependencies.  So perhaps i need to install the Visual C++ development environment.
    IESHIMS.dll is an Internet Explorer DLL that gets usually delay loaded by shdocvw.dll. As delay load it can not cause DLL load errors but only runtime errors. Maybe your DLL has it as direct dependency but that is unlikely since it does not have a documented interface.
    WER.dll is Windows error reporting for Vista/Win7.
    MFC90D.dll is the Microsoft Foundation classes and MSVCR90D.dll is the MS C runtime library, both as debug variant.
    So all the DLLs you mention are actually MS DLLs! You haven't identified the DLL that you try to access in LabVIEW that causes these error messages. IESHIMS and WER are usually delay loaded by any component that needs it and should not likely be used by non MS code.
    What is the DLL you try to load into LabVIEW and by whom? Get the provider of that DLL to provide you a non Debug build of the DLL. Installing Visual C on all the machines just to make the DLL load is not a solution, besides that it is likely not legal since I doubt you have that many licenses.

  • How to delete a loaded DLL from an applet

    I succesfully wrote some code that extracts a Windows DLL from the applet jar to a temporary file and loads the extracted DLL (using a System.load call).
    Now I want to remove the DLL after the applet is closed. I tried to use the shutdown hook functionality of the java.lang.Runtime object, but this doesn't seem to work for an applet.
    Anyone any ideas about how to tackle this? Note that I'm not interested in installing the DLL's in for example the windows/system32 directory. To prevent any potential DLL versioning troubles I just want to use the DLL's as a temp file and remove them afterwards.

  • Load SWF file from AIR library module.

    Hi,
    I am writing a testing agent (record and playback agent) for Flex applications.
    Here, I am required to load a SWF object (in a new window) from a AIR module library.
    And then I need a handle to the newly opened SWF so that I can perform testing operations on it.
    How can I accomplish this. Any links or sample code is welcome.
    Thanks,
    Pradeep.

    10.0.1 is very old, we're on 11.2 now.  Do you know about when this started breaking for you?  I'd suggest two things.  First, you might want to post over on the Flash Pro forums as there's a larger developer audience there and someone might have a quick answer for you.  Next, you might want to open a new bug at bugbase.adobe.com.  Please include detailed steps to reproduce, along with a link to your site and / or sample code so we can test this internally.

  • I keep getting an error message when I attempt to print: "Cannot load library LXBCPRP.DLL", but only from within Firefox.

    Within Firefox and websites visited within Firefox, whenever I try to print using my Lexmark Z605 printer, the error message "Cannot load library LXBCPRP.DLL, using default '' appears. The printer works fine from other programs and indeed worked fine from within versions of Firefox before 4.0.1, and I have even updated drivers from Lexmark, but the problem persists.

    Thanks for your time, but I maintain my position. There has been no problem with my printer from purchase (5+ years ago) until Firefox 4, in particular no problem with Firefox 3.x. I have no problem with ANY other applications I use now and have run through them all to check.
    Firefox 4.0.1 remains the prime suspect, but I am willing to try any fix that the wonderful members of Firefox community may care to suggest.

    I have configured the apache webserver2.0 for passing on the request to weblogic 10.0. I have images in apache webserver. In my application on weblogic i am using JSF f. In JSF for <h:graphics> tag i am not able to load images from apache webserver. issue we found out that it prepend a context url on it.
              pls provide if u have any solution for it.

    Hi, Neeraj,
              Are you actually telling <h:graphicImage>? As per html_basic.tld, the "uri" attribute is context-relative.
              Using "value" attribute instead of "url" attribute may be helpful. Something like
              <h:graphicImage id="fooImage" value="http://www.foosite.com/image/foo.jpg"/>
              This should work on WLS10.0 if you are using the JSF library bundled in it.
              Thanks,

  • I am using a DLL from VC++ labview6.1 crash upon loading the DLL

    Labview crashes when I load my DLL from VC++ that calls device net software. It is only _stdcall function. Sometime my whole PC crash upon loading it. I Appreciate any help from anyone......

    Your problem is most likely caused by a memory error. Insure that you are passing the correct data types (especially pointers) into the Call Library Function and make sure that if the DLL is expecting any memory to be allocated that the proper data has been created in LabVIEW (for instance, if the DLL was expecting a string of a certain length, LabVIEW would need to create a string constant which was long enough to satisfy the DLL). Also insure that there are not any race conditions (conditions within LabVIEW in which the order of execution is not defined) which could cause your DLL to access memory which has not yet been allocated. You can generally fix race conditions by using sequence structures. Also, make sure that your DLL cleans up any memory that it all
    ocates.
    Hopefully that helps,

  • Accessing LDAP in a custom JAAS login module

    Hi,
    I have developed a custom jaas login module in CE 7.1. I created a java dc which contains a class extending AbstractLoginModule. This DC is deployed on to the server using an EAR DC. I am trying to access LDAP in the custom login module. I am trying to establish an SSL connection to LDAP. For this purpose i have created a custom socket factory class which extends SSLSocketFactory. I used the code below to establish the connection.
              Hashtable<String,String> env=new Hashtable<String,String>();
              DirContext dirContext=null;
              env.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,"com.sun.jndi.ldap.LdapCtxFactory");
              env.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL,ldapURL);
                    env.put(Context.SECURITY_PROTOCOL,"ssl");
                    env.put("java.naming.ldap.factory.socket", "com.test.ldap.MySSLSocketFactory");
                    dirContext=new InitialDirContext(env);
    MySSLSocketFactory is the name of custom socket factory.
    During a login process, the above code results in error because the connection to LDAP server could not be established. However the same code when executed in a webdynpro DC is working without any problem. What could be the reason for this?
    This is the error i could see in defaultTrace

  • Calling back c++ method in an exe (not a dll) from java?

    Hi all,
    I have to make an hybrid C++/java from an existing C++

    I'm running under win32.
    The application consists of several windows. The hybrid

  • Creat a DLL from a set of VIs

    Hello,
    I've a board that cames with Labview VIs for each of its functions.
    As I'd like to use it from CVI, I need a DLL.
    NI support team gave me the procedure to make such a DLL, it works fine.
    But, the create DLL can't be used by 2 application in same time, as it was possible with the old fashion driver on WindowsXP, delivered by the board supplier.
    When I've an application launched using functions in the DLL, it is loaded and seems to be "privative" to this application: if an other one tries to load the DLL, there is an error frolm Labview wrapper.
    Is there an option to make such DLL "reopenable" or "reentrant"?
    Regards

    The DLL is written by Lavview tool to encapsulate VI and get them reachable from CVI: the board supplier no loger delivers a C-compatible DLL, only Labview driver and C# / .net / Java... modules, that implies heavy changes in our application to manage. NI support suggested to make this way a DLL from the set of VI delivered by supplier.
    In our case, on XP, the main application was using the board but it was possible in parallel to send commands from an other application.
    You're right it may be a question of locking resources by DLL / VIs functions: I'd like to know it there is a specific otpin when creating the DLL to make it reentrant and possibly get double access.

  • URGENT HELP NEEDED 'Acrobat failed to load its Core DLL'

    My Adobe Reader was working fine until I needed to open a PDF the other day to which I received this message 'Acrobat failed to load its Core DLL'. I had a problem with it in the past with an error code ending in '142' but I managed to solve this myself. Now this has appeared and I'm stumped. I am currently running windows 8.1 and have the most up-to-date Adobe Reader XI.
    I haven't changed anything to my computer for it to interrupt the program. I have read the forums on here and elsewhere. I have:
    Un-installed and re-installed the program
    Repaired the program through the control panel
    I have run the TDSSKiller from Kaspersky which didn't find anything
    I have previously run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware software including the 'rootkit' option. Unfortunately I fell asleep and so did my computer so I lost everything from the scan (it takes hours for this scan) so I am currently running it today.
    I've conducted other advice that people have suggested on previous forums/discussions but it still hasn't been fixed
    If there is anything I could try then could someone please help me as this is very urgent!
    Thank you so much in advance for any comments or suggestions.

    Thank you for your reply but I have done everything on that page yet it still does not work :/
    Laura,
    In that case the only way is to uninstall the reader completely from the system and then to reinstall it.  The process is to use the Adobe cleaner and this is a free tool from Adobe downloadable from this link:
    <Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs>
    Download the tool and save it on your desktop or in a temporary folder.  then right-click on it and extract the files.  After extracting the files, run the file called: "AdbeArCleaner_v2.exe".  Then follow the simple instructions given on the screen.
    After the uninstall is completed, you need to restart the machine before you can install the reader again.
    Hope this helps but please post back if this didn't work so that further help can be given.

  • Initial load of sales orders from R3 to CRM without statuses

    1) Some sales orders were uploaded into CRM without statuses in the headers or line items.
    2) Some sales orders were uploaded without status, ship-to, sold-to, payer.....If I deleted them and use R3AR2, R3AR4 to upload each individual then no problem.
    Any ideas or suggestions?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
       Request load of adapter objects uses different extractor modules for extracting the data from external system to CRM. While your initial load of sales docs. will use a different extraction logic bases on the filter conditions specfied on trx.
    R3AC1
       There may be a problem in the extraction of data from the source system (don't know if you are using a R/3). Can you please de-register the R/3 (i suppose) outbound queue using trx.
    SMQS
    , and then debug the extraction (R/3 outbound) before the data is sent to CRM using FM
    CRS_SEND_TO_SERVER
       If this goes well, you may try debugging the mapper in CRM inbound and the validation module in CRM as a last resort. Also, please refer to trx.
    SMW01
    to see if the Bdocs are fully processed.
    Hope this helps...Reward if helpful.
    Regards,
    Sudipta.

  • Unable to load style(SWF is not a loadable module)

    While devoloping an App voor iOS we decided to use several StyleSheets.
    We are implementing the loading of Stylesheets as:
    event_dispatcher:IEventDispatcher = this.styleManager.loadStyleDeclarations2("assests/styles/default.swf");
     event_dispatcher.addEventListener(StyleEvent.COMPLETE, OnStyleLoaded);
    event_dispatcher.addEventListener(StyleEvent.ERROR, OnStyleError);
    running the app on the desktop simulators work fine.
    packaging the app with package method fast, and running the app on an iphone4 works fine.
    packaging the app with package method standaard, and running the app on an iphone4 gives an error:
    Unable to load style(SWF is not a loadable module): assets/styles/default.swf.
    Is there something im missing? Why does it work when packaging as Fast, and not as Standard?

    Hi,
            The source file is .swf ie(.css is converted to .swf).
             Main swf is running from local.
             Style module is from server.
    I set security domain. But it throws security sanbox violation.
    What should i do. Even some time if a use the local url means it thorws the same error Unable to load style(SWF is not a loadable module).
    thanks,
    Jayagopal.
