Hi,
If import java.util.*; is mentioned, at run time does JVM (j2sdk 1.4.0) loads entire util package or only requried classes?

import has absolutely no effect at runtime. It only impacts compile time.
Java loads classes when needed. So when your class is loaded, it might or might not immediately load other classes, for instance java.util.Vector, depending on how you used it. It only loads classes if they are not already loaded. And many classes in java.util will already be loaded because the JVM uses them.

Unable to load package

I have created an SSIS package in BI dev studio which i can debug and run fine. I have saved the dtsx file to a production server which calls it using dtexec as part of a batch script (we are migrating from foxpro). I am getting the following error that i dont understand.
I dont know if this is relevant but i cant execute packages by double clicking them as DTexecui is not installed (not sure why as i have installed the client tools and integration server). Hardware is Dell poweredge 2850 dual xeon 2gb ram with win 2k sp4 and sql 2005 sp1.

We are having the same problem:
My team is using SqlServer 2005 SSIS to develop package for Consolidated Views. This works fine on my machine in Visual Studio when they run it as a script from command prompt from their desktop. However, when they move this package to ETL box, the package runs fine Visual Studio environment but fails when run from the script with the errors:

I had the xercers jars in jdk/jre/lib/endorsed directory.
If I remove these, the ejbql works. I do need these in there for a different reason. Is there any way I can have the xercers jars in jdk/jre/lib/endorsed directory and still the ejbql work on oc4j.

SAP Installation java error package j2sdk-1_4_2_16-fcs is already installed

Hi All,
I need one help.
I am trying to install SAP ECC 6.0 in REDHAT Linux 5.0 and Database Oracle 10.2.
I have downloaded the below two java files
j2sdk-1_4_2_16-linux-i586.bin
j2sdk-1_4_2_16-linux-i586-rpm.bin
I uncared the file j2sdk-1_4_2_16-linux-i586.bin. Then I searched and come to know we have to install the .rpm file, so I deleted the /java folder (perhaps a mistake, I didn't use the uninstall command).
Then I uncared the file j2sdk-1_4_2_16-linux-i586-rpm.bin and tried to run the below rpm command to install the java package. Now I am getting the below response
rpm -iv j2sdk-1_4_2_16-linux-i586.rpm
Preparing packages for installation...
package j2sdk-1_4_2_16-fcs is already installed
Please help me how correct this error.
I searched and found the below command to replace the already installed java file, with the new file.
rpm -iv --replacepkgs j2sdk-1_4_2_16-linux-i586.rpm
but it does not worked facing the below error
--replace:unknownoption.

Adobe Reader XI is stuck "loading package scripts"

Whenever I try to install adobe reader 11 it gets stuck loading package scripts. How do I successfully install the program?

I created this load package to test like 15 cubes and now one of the cubes doesnt match the original criteria so I get a failure message.
I tried to edit the load package and I get a failure message because of that.
Is there some other place I can go to exit the package and remove that one cube so I can execute the package.

Unable to load (packaged) locales on iOS

Hi, for last couple of days I am struggling with loading locales (of course it works on Android and in fast packaging on iOS :-) ).
Its flex project with AIR SDK 3.7 (without ASC 2.0) and Flex SDK 4.6, FB 4.7. Here's my test app:
     loader = new Loader();

     var loaderContext:LoaderContext = new LoaderContext(false, ApplicationDomain.currentDomain, null);
     loader.load(url, loaderContext);
after its successfully loaded I use ModuleManager..
     modInfo = ModuleManager.getModule("assets/locales/en_US.swf");
     modInfo.load(ApplicationDomain.currentDomain, null, loader.contentLoaderInfo.bytes, FlexGlobals.topLevelApplication.moduleFactory);
Result is that it stucks with loading the data to the ModuleManager with the error:
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.

Dynamically loading a class that is part of a larger loaded package

I am dynamically loading a class that is part of a large package, much of which is loaded at startup. The code directly references protected variables in the parts of the package that is loaded by the default class loader. Attempting to access these protected variables gives an access error when the class is dynamically loaded that doesnt occur when the class is loaded at startup.
Is there a way to make this work?

To answer my own question -- no
A reference from http://access1.sun.com/techarticles/DR-article.html says:
The use of Dynamic Class Reloading can introduce problems when classes that are being dynamically reloaded make calls to non-public methods of helper classes that are in the same package. Such calls are likely to cause a java.lang.IllegalAccesserror to be thrown. This is because a class that is dynamically reloaded is loaded by a different classloader than the one used to load the helper classes. Classes that appear to be in the same package are effectively in different packages when loaded by different classloaders. If class com.myapp.MyServlet is loaded by one classloader and an instance of it tries to call a non-public method of an instance of class com.myapp.Helper loaded by a different classloader, the call will fail because the two classes are in different packages.
So not being able to access non-private variables in this scenario is the way it works.

I'm using AIR 3.7 in GPU renderer mode, and load SWF with some code. I have add LoaderContext.

SAINT, Load Package Problem

I am trying to load a package into Saint from my front end. My problem is that when I downloaded the package, the Download Manager created it as a .ZIP file instead of an .SAR file, this is the first time I have seen this happen. How do I convert the .ZIP file to an .SAR so that I can load it into SAINT?

Okay just unzip the folder you will get the SAR files in it,
I think you are trying to add component through saint.
Then uncar the files and apply them.

Must load packages from file 2x before compl insght works in code editor

I am used to editing packages from file instead from database, which is good practice I assume.
When I first load a package from file, completion insight does not work.
For example i do not get table names or column names after typing select t.<list expected> from <list expected initially> tab1 t
When I close the file/tab and reopen the file completion insight suddenly works.
Could you please fix this so that I only have to open the file once.

I have downloaded packaged application Document Library 0.91 from packaged applications URL and trying to import it into APEX 3.0.
In Application Builder I am getting an error message that 'Script has exceeded the maximum limit'. So I tried executing the install script as a application parsing schema, then it returned following error in SQL*Plus:

Maybe we need to be more explicit in the readme. You need to "Import and install the doc_library_installer_0.91.sql ... Select to install supporting objects." This is from the Application Builder, select Import. Maybe you uploaded it as a script under the SQL Workshop? Those directions are in the readme for upgrading from the .9 version to the .91 version without losing your data.

I have created a package which has to send mails to the users after the dataload to essbase is done. But the VMware is not connected to internet. The host machine is connected to a LAN. Please let me know what has to be done

I can't load packaged fonts

Hi, I'm trying to open a CS5 Indesign file created on a Mac in CS6 on a PC. The screen shot shows the fonts that were packaged in the folder. I noticed that many of them are 0KB is size. When i tried to drag the bigger ones into the Windows font folder, it gave me a "not a valid font" message. Any ideas?

Let's clarify this a little more. OpenType fonts are truly cross platform, Windows format TrueType fonts will also work on OSX, but Mac format TT will not work on Windows, and, not well-known, Windows Type 1 postscript fonts can be used by ID on mac if put into the private ID fonts folder.
