Loading Resources Information.

hello java world,
I know how to make a splash screen but i want to show also resource information on the splash screen such fonts initialization etc. could anybody help me. I am searching for it since last weak.

Your splash screen will probably be an extension of JWindow. You can add a JLabel to it and set the text of the label to reflect what is happening. For example when you begin loading a file you can show text that says "Loading files" or maybe show each individual file. When you begin loading plug ins show a message "Checking plug ins".
I can't get more specific than that. You may want to search these forums for more suggestions on splash screens.

Load resource information before save

We use dynamic tabbed user form to display user's multiple resource accounts. When we edit one resource account then save the change, validation error show up because other resource tabs have required field that are still blank. The reason for blank fields is because those resources are not loaded. Only the resources I need make changes is loaded. The work flow I can change is after validation which is performed by IDM engine. So I can not do anything in update workflow. On first click from Account List can load all the resources but it takes a lot of time when a user has 20 or 30 accounts. Does anyone have any good solution?

After the page had loaded, I see in DEBUG-mode that the application items have the correct value. However, the page does not show the items I referenced to in the template. After I login they do show up, but that's too late.
I use the &APP_ITEM. notation in the region template...
Edit: Hmmm, I retried and now it seems to work. Probably a caching issue or something...

Unable to load resource - error

This is my first attempt at using java web start. I'm using JDeveloper to generate my jnlp which I've included below.
However I get the following error which I cannot see a solution for. I'm sure there must be a simple solution.

It must be coming from the commented-out <applet> tag somehow.
You aren't specifying an 'id' element. See the Deploy Java Toolkit documentation.

Right on - I have done that a number of times.

Failed to load resource the network connection was lost

I am uploading a 2 gb file into my application using chrome in my MacBook Pro, i keep getting an error (FAILED to load resource: net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET) when the file is 100% uploaded and the file starts uploading from the beginning (1%... and so on). This issue is not happening when i am doing the file upload using chrome in my windows 7 machine. I Also noticed in the same MacBook if i upload through Safari i get the same error (failed to load resource the network connection was lost). Please let me know what additional information i can provide technically.

- in which phase/when this error occurs
- where this error message is coming
- what has been done prior to this
etc.
so everything leading to answers could only be wild guesses such as "are the harddisks all mounted and available in the resource groups" or "search the filesystem for that DLL" etc.
All we know is that "a DLL is missing".

Loading resource module from private folder.

Hi,
I have client(AIR)-server(Java) application working with many locales. Every now and then someone finds a bug in translation and repairs it. Whenever somebody updates translation (via other tool wchich also creates new xx_XXresourceModule.swf on the server) it's created new resource module. From this reason I want to have resourceModules located on server. Changing resource on server will spread this change on each client during client initialization. Client during starting checks "somehow" whether there is newer resource module on server side and if there is then it should download and loads it.
The reason why I don't want to just call IResourceManager.loadResourceModule(serverURL+resourceModule.swf) every time client start is quicker client start up. If there isn't newer localization it uses the one which was dowloaded and stored earlier during former start.
The problem is that when I download resourceModule.swf I could store it only into File.documentsDirectory where I have WRITE rights. But later on I am not able to load resource module via IResourceManager.loadResourceModule(). It complains "Unable to load resource module from: file:///c:/documents and settings/user/MyDocuments/resourceModule.swf" Do I miss something or is it possible to call loadResourceModule() when the SWF file is located somewhere in myDocument folder?
Any idea how to solve it?

AIR had a security restriction that you can only load modules from the app directory (i.e. the same folder the application was installed to). However they added a loadBytes(...) function to allow a module to be loaded that had been downloaded. I don't know if this was added to the resource stuff however.
You cannot blindly add modules to the app directory either (at least ones that weren't part of the initial install) as the AIR runtime tries to work out from the directory whether it needs to update itself, and adding files in there confuses it (so say Adobe).
I actually think you might be stuffed unless you create a new version of your AIR application with the new resource bundle, and distribute it as an update.

Use wireshark or any other http sniffer to find out what your server returns.
From the log it seems that java is not getting well formed header at least (mime type is wrong, size missing, date is weird):

WebStart Unable to load resource/ZipException

download the jar and run it locally.I tried running it locally, and it worked for me as well,
so I took a closer look at the Wrapped Exception
in the console and noted it mentioned ..
java.util.zip.ZipException: ZIP file must have at least one entryOK.. so I checked it using ..
jar -t frame.jar..the console just sat there doing nothing!
When I opened it using WinZip, I could see the
class, manifest and RSA/SF files, but WinZip will
handle any old junk, so that does not really help
us.
I suggest you generate the jar fresh, and check it
using the 'jar -t' command (if Jar cannot understand
it alright, I expect JWS won't either - perhaps when
'launching the jar' from the file system, such checks
are unnecessary).
The only two other things I have noted that were
'suspicious' were the lack of href attribute in the
jnlp element, and the fact that I am sometimes
getting slightly different URL's quoted (by the server)
for the address of the jar file.

Solved. The error comes from the scheduled task by Lenovo Settings Power. By disabling the the task in the Task Scheduler, the error went away. This does not affect the function of Lenovo Settings, just make the power information a bit slow to load.

Unable to load database information

Hello All,
I am facing an issue while scheduling a crystal report from CMC or Infoview. When I schedule the report It throws an error saying "Unable to Load Database information". The report's data source connection is oracle database.
I have provided the database credentials,format and destination in CMC/Infoview. The BOE environment is as follows:
OS: Windows 2008 server 64 bit
BOE: Business Objects 3.1sp3, Crystal reports 2008 sp3
Oracle Client: oracle 11g 32 bit client
When I change the connection from oracle server to ODBC connection the report works fine. Is there any steps I am missing or is there database drivers connectivity issue because BOE and oracle are 32 bit client and OS is 64 bit client.
All the suggestion/answers are appreciated.

First thought is that the application cannot access the DSN or database driver that the report was designed on, this could be permissions.
I tried to ping my database and was unable to find the host. I was under the assumption it was using TNSNames which is able to resolve.
How can I validate the permissions?

ITunes was unable to load dataclass information from Sync Services

Hi,
I have Iphone 3GS with the latest version 3.1.3 and iTunes 9.1. After i uograded my iPhone to the latest version i am not able to sync with the iTunes and receive the message "iTunes was unable to load dataclass information from Sync Services, Reconnect or Try later". I am using Windows XP with Symantec Endpoint protection.
I have tried following steps to troubleshoot the problem but all my attempts have failed,
1. Uninstall iTunes by Removing, iTunes, QuickTime, BonJour, iPhone congiguration Utility and Bonjour. Remove all the iTunes and related folder from the C:/ drive
2. Restart the computer and intall the latest version of iTunes and Quicktime
3. Restore the iPhone to the factory settings using iTunes
4. Restart the system as well as hard Boot the iPhone (Hold Start and Wake/Sleep Button)before connecting again
5. Repeat the Steps 1 and 2 after restoring the iPhone
I am still getting the same error and now I can't even open the first page for iPhone in iTunes when I connect it to my computer. All my content is still in iTunes but everything is lost on the iPhone.
I searched the Apple support and they talk about problem with the Symantec Endpoint. I have the latest version of Symantec endpoint way above what is mentioned on the Apple support page.
Can someone please help me, it seems restore worked for most of the people facing this issue, but for me even restore is not working.

I got a present of an itouch. This is my first time back to apple after 5 years. I cant get my itouch to sync due to dataclass error on Windows XP pro. I have installed the latest version of itunes 9.2.1.
WHAT IS THE POINT IN OWNING A DEVICE FOR PLAYING MUSIC WHEN YOU CANT LOAD THE MUSIC !!!!!
Does anyone have a solution or alternatively (shock horror) Apple could actually get its AR*E in gear and fix the problem. I would also suggest that Apple would post a friggen solution on its website, but no that may be too much to ask.
very frustrated. any help gratefully received otherwise the touch gets thrown out.
