  • Currency rate not maintained for Pre- Euro data

    Hi experts,
We have certain orders in BW Production environment from before the EURO zone. These orders have different local currencies eg. DEN. In BW reports the translation can not be executed, due to NO available currency records for DEN->EUR.
This happens for Exchange rate types which do not have EUR as reference currency.
How do we go about fixing this in BW?
    Thanks

    Currency Translation Type
A translation type is a combination of different parameters that establish how the exchange rate for the translation is determined.
    check link for more details

    Creating Currency Translation Types
           1.      On the SAP Easy Access screen for SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence, choose SAP Menu ® Modeling ® Object Maintenance  ® Currency Translation Types.
           2.      Enter a technical name for the translation type. The name must be between three and ten characters long and begin with a letter. Choose  Create. The Edit Currency Translation Type screen appears.
           3.      Enter a description.
    Exchange Rate Tab Page:
           4.      Choose Exchange Rate Type or Ex. Rate Type from Var. to determine the exchange rate dynamically. With Ex. Rate Type from Var. you can select any variable that has been created for 0RTYPE using input help.
           5.      Choose Dynamic Exchange Rate Determination or enter an InfoObject (key figure) to be used to determine the exchange rate. The latter is only supported with updates.
           6.      Determine whether you want to perform the currency translation with the inverse exchange rate. In this case, the required translation from one currency to another is performed using the reverse exchange rate. This can be useful, for example, when values have already been translated and you need to restore the original values.
    Currency Tab Page
           7.      Under Source Currency, choose whether the source currency is:
?       Determined using the data record
?       Based on a fixed source currency
?       Determined using an InfoObject. Specify the InfoObject you want to use to determine the source currency. For more information, see the example under Defining Target Currency from InfoObjectss.
    ?       Determined using a variable
           8.      Under Target Currency, choose whether you want to determine the target currency when translation is performed or in the translation type.
If you are determining the target currency upon translation, you can either specify a fixed target currency in the Query Designer (as a property of a key figure of type Amount) or specify a variable to be used to determine the target currency. See Setting Variable Target Currencies in the Query Designer.
If the target currency is to be determined in the translation type, choose either
    ?       A fixed target currency
?       A target currency from a variable; you can use input help to select any variable that has been created for 0CURRENCY
?       Alternatively, an InfoObject from which the target currency is to be determined
Note that with InfoSets, the InfoObject can occur several times within the InfoSet and therefore may not be unique. In this case, you have to specify the unique field alias name of the InfoObject in the InfoSet. The field alias name consists of: . You can display the field alias in the InfoSet Builder using Switch Technical Name On/Off.
Example: In the InfoSet ISTEST, characteristic 0CURR occurs twice. The field alias names are ISTEST___F00009 and ISTEST___F00023.
    Time Reference Tab Page
           9.      Select a fixed or a variable time base for the currency translation.
?       With a fixed time reference, you can choose between:
    ¦       Selection upon translation
    ¦       Current date
    ¦       Fixed key date
¦       Time reference using a variable (variable for 0DATE)
¦       Query key date. In this case, the time reference is the key date that is set in the query properties in the Query Designer.
?       With a variable time reference, you can choose:
¦       Standard InfoObject (standard time characteristic: 0FISCYEAR, 0FISCPER, 0CALYEAR, 0CALQUARTER, 0CALMONTH, 0CALWEEK or 0CALDAY), which is used to determine the time of the translation
¦       Special InfoObject. This special InfoObject has to have the same properties as the standard InfoObject or it has to reference the standard InfoObject. The aforementioned notes on using InfoSets also apply here.
¦       In the Time Adjustment field, whole numbers with +/- sign
¦       In the Time Adjustment from Variable field, you can specify formula variables (1FORMULA)
The time adjustment (regardless of whether it is fixed or variable) is always related to the InfoObject specified under Variable Time Reference.
       10.      Save your entries.

  • F-03: Amt in doc currency & local currency does not tally

    Hello Friends,
When doing clearing using F-03 for GL Account 137500 in SGD (document currency), The amount
does not tally with Amount in local currency (USD) and the selected items
clearing lines not generated automatically. Why is this happening.
I found that this is not due to exchange rate
    Please help to resolve.
    Ramu

There are too many questions..let us take it one at a time
    a. I am using tcode f-03 for clearing GL Account  - OK
    b. When i process the open items and select the items for clearing OK
    c. When posting the difference of the selected items OK
    d. the amount in local currency(USD) does not tally with the amount in document currency (SGD)
Response:  This will not as the exchange rates are not 1:1  that is One USD will not get you One SGD. The difference will remain.
    e. this is not due to the exchange rate, for example the figure in amount in local currency is 100 USD, the figure in the field amount in document currency is showing as 300 SGD,
Response:  In all likelihood look at the GL master data `(FS00) and check the values in the `Control Tab`
    f. and also automatic generation of lines (debit & credit) for the sum of selected open items are missing
Response:*  As in (e) please check if the line item display is checked in the same tab.
    Cheers

  • 0.01 price difference local currency amount (not due to forex)

    Hi All,
I have this strange system behaviour.
In foreign currency, it has no issue. But when see in local currency, it has price difference which is not due to forex.
The exchange rate used is 7.79594
ithe 4 GR lines in foreign currency
    14,006.00
    9,870.00
    14,194.00
    3,948.00
where the total foreign amount is 42,018.00
the 4 GR lines in local currency
    109,189.98
    76,945.96
    110,655.62
    30,778.38
where the total calculated by system is 327,569.94
BUT, if you calculate yourself, it should be the below where total is 327569.81.
    109189.94
    76945.93
    110655.57
    30778.37
Both amount giving the difference of 0.12. (line item of GRC cannot set off due to difference of 0.12. GR 327,569.94 and IR 327,569.82).
Now, during IR, the foreign amount is same which is 42,018.00 and exchagne rate also the same 7.79594 but the GRC amount is credited 327569.82.
But if you see in PO history in me23n, the amount at IR line is 327569.81.
When I see the document in local currency, it throws out credit of 0.01.
    My question is,
    1) why during GR, the amount calculated manually and system different by 0.12?
    2) why during IR, the local amount with addition of 0.01, which is 327569.82 whereas in PO history in me23n, it is showing 327569.81. Why FI document figure and PO history tab IR line different by 0.01?
    Thanks

    Hi Calesta,
While the currencies have decimals exceeding 4places, then system would many times dismayed while converting and displaying between the local and the foreign currencies. Pls check if you have defined decimal places for the currencies as per your requirement.
Finally the concern is in the acc doc entries either in MIGO or MIRO. If the difference you are getting is affecting your accounting due to exchange rate differences etc you can configure automatic posting by TE key KDR in OBYC

  • Can't drag the currency key in local currency to the pool of fields not use

    Hi everyone,
Hopefully you can enlighten me with this issue coz im trying to drag the currency key in local currency to the pool of fields not used (UCWB<Data Model<Data Basis<Data Model(TAB)) but nothing happened, i can't transfer it to the pool of fields not used.
Note:I came with this decision(transferring the currency key in local currency to the pool of fields not used ) because SAP prompt me with this:
The currency key in local currency is not required in the data basis. It is merely an implicit part of the data model
I really dont have any idea why i can't drag it to the pool of filed not used, i tried to look for some sap notes but i can't find one.
    thanks in advance

    Hi Dan,
Actually it is not really an error, i just would like to pattern the configuration of our newly upgraded BI server  to our BW server.
In our BW server, the currency key in local currency is mapped to the pool of fields not used. I can't seem to do the same in the BI server because everytime I try to drag the currency key in local currency to the pool of fields not used, nothing happens, it isn't mapped.

    hi
kindly implement SAP Note 19915 for Missing Customizing master data
You have to transfer the table entries in question manually.
there are two different procedures are possible:
    1. Use a correction request to copy the relevant data
for example:  in source:   use Table view -> Transport to create a new
    correction request (pushbutton "Create").
Select the entries you want to transport and use the "Add to corr."
button to add them to the correction and save.
In the target client, use CASE -> Tools -> Client copy -> Copy via
command file (TA SCC2) to perform the transport.
    or
    2. Use transaction OY19 (Customizing -> Tools -> Table compare)
to compare or replicate the respective tables.

  • F5061  Balance in local currency EUR is too large for automatic adjustment

My Company code currency is EUR. The customer has made a downpayment in USD (say 100) and i am now to clear the same against invoice of same amount in USD (100 $) but its is resulting into minor differences in Local currency. I am getting the following error
Balance in local currency EUR is too large for automatic adjustment
    Message no. F5061
    Diagnosis
For postings in foreign currency, it is possible that the balance in foreign currency is zero, but not in local currency. Providing the balance in local currency does not amount to more currency units than the document has line items, the system adjusts the amounts automatically. If an automatic adjustment is not possible, the amounts must be adjusted manually in local currency.
    System Response
The document is not posted in local currency without adjusting the amounts.
    Procedure
Adjust the amounts in local currency.
How can i have the system automatically fetch the Gl accounts to post the exchange rate differeces.
I have maintained the settings in FBKP- Exchange rate differenes

    Hi,
I have the same problem; my company code is defined in HUF and I am trying to post a vendor invoice in Euros.
I have a 10% maintained there and still receiving the error, either for differences of just one HUF. The strangest thing is that differences are automatically adjusted (also for discrepancies over the 10%) when posting through FB60 but not when using FB01.
    Any idea?
Thanks in advance for your input.
    Best regards.

  • Foreign Currency valuation on Foreign currency items posted in Local currency accounts

    Hi Gurus,
I have accounts maintained in local currency and only balances in local currency is not checked. Some items are posted in foreign currency.
Now system is doing foreign currency valuation on foreign currency balance of this account. I dont want system to do that.
Now how to correct it. I can make balance zero of account and then mark that tick of only balances in local currency but still system will do foreign currency valuation on items posted.
Appreciate you help in solving this issue. How to handle it?
    Thanks

    Hi ,
While executing Foreign currency valuation, you can select the GL accounts for valuation. Try to not input these local currency GL's.

  • S_ALR_87012247 - Customer Balances and Line Items in Local Currency

    Hi All,
This report S_ALR_87012247 - Customer Balances and Line Items in Local Currency  is not displaying line items for customers in ECC6. Is there any configuration required to get the line items? Please help
    Thanks
    Sridevi

If you see this report S_ALR_87009950, you will get
Opening Balance at the start of fiscal year
Debits and Credit during the reporting period
    and the Cumulative Balance.
Please note the above report will not give you line item details.
S_ALR_87012247 report is specifically for poland, in the description it is mentioned that the line items will be displayed, unfortunately, for other countries, there are no line items visible. Therefore, you may explore the possibility of copying this report and changing the code in order to bring the line items along with the totals.

  • Posting in Local Currency Only

    Scenario:
    - Foreign Currency Asset acquisitions
    - Goods Receipt Posted in Period 1
    - Exchange Rate fluctuates at month end
    - Invoice Verification processed in Period 2
    - Exchange Variance (USD 5.00) is posted to the Asset A/c.
The variance is only in Local currency and not in Document currency.
Accounting Rules dictate posting exchange difference to Realized Gain/Loss A/c.
Is there a way to rectify this error, by posting a document where,
Amount in Document Curr = 0
Amount in Local Curr = USD 5.00
There is already a fix in place for preventing this in future. Looking only for a fix for the existing entries only.
    Thanks

Create one FI documents with multiple line items as per the following example. In this case you need to enter amount in both local currency and in document currency fields-
If you want to post credit of USD 5.00
Line 1: Local currency  Dr. USD 5; Doc currency =x
Line 2: Local currency  Cr. USD 10; Doc currency =x
Net impact in local currency is Cr USD 5 and doc currency is nil.
